Had a very good dinner here on a cold night in Banff. To drive business in a down season, they had a 3 course promo that was excellent. The Maple Butternut Squash soup was a standout, very well executed. The steak was as requested and the dessert was good, as well. Very good cocktail and an excellent waiter that provided several good options for other restaurants that I took advantage of while I was in town. I think they were all from the same restaurant group, but I can't blame him for talking up his own book.

Google
This is actually a little difficult. We attended The Maple Leaf on two occasions. Once for brunch and once for Christmas dinner. For brunch I would give a solid three stars. It was pretty average. This is not a venue that I would recommend for breakfast when there are so many wonderful options in Banff. However for dinner it is a completely different story. Christmas dinner was lovely and definitely a five star offering. We had turkey with all the trimmings, bison ribs, oysters and numerous cocktails and they were all delicious. Definitely worth trying for their dinner menu but I would look further afield for breakfast or brunch.

Was in Banff for the weekend and stumbled upon this quaint restaurant for dinner. The maple butternut squash soup was alright, big portion though. The cast iron crab dip was amazingly creamy and went really well with the pita bread. However the mains weren’t as great as expected. The maple salmon and prawn were good and fresh. The bbq ribs were way too salty and overcooked. The meat was charred and stuck to the bone, and the sauce was too salty. The corn bread was also dry and flakey. Overall, some hits and misses with the food. The service was still great, and the atmosphere was homely.

Google
Sublime. We went for brunch and we’re not disappointed. Home made jam, fresh ingredients, everything prepared perfectly. Staff were very nice and accommodating. Couldn’t have had a nicer time.

Google
I very rarely give five stars. This place deserves it. We were able to take advantage of the Fall Feast and got a three-course meal for only $39! We would have paid double if we ordered a-la-carté. Every single dish was exceptional, from the presentation to the taste. The maple glazed jalapeño duck wings were phenomenal, and our steaks were juicy and cooked perfectly. The desert was absolutely amazing. I strongly recommend the maple cheesecake. Each staff member was polite and professional. The fine dining ambiance was perfect. Dim lighting, light jazz music and the background, and views of Banff avenue from most tables. My only critique is that the server took a while to bring us our bill, but was also dealing with a large party, so it wasn’t a big deal. Other than that, our server was friendly, checked on us numerous times, and had just the right amount of small talk.

Google
Food was good and came quickly! Server was also super super friendly (she had a vine/leaf tattoo wrapped round her arm but we didn’t catch her name). The highlight was the potatoes. We weren’t so fond of the croissant sandwich!

Google
Friendly service and food comes quickly. Wine country salad to start, big enough to share! Cowboy steak and tenderloin for mains. Salad was fresh and delish. Steaks were good. I preferred my cowboy steak without the sauce that came with it. Tenderloin was good. Sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Generous square more than enough to share!! They need to take some time to ensure the bathrooms are clean and stocked. I had to open new paper rolls and put them on the holders myself.

Delicious food, high value and good quality. Staff is lovely, vibe of the restaurant is welcoming! Check out the moose room for the true Canadian feel. Love eating lunch here! Try the maple salmon on their lunch menu.

Yelp
(Ryan Reynolds sing songy voiceover like "you ME & luigi" on Spotify) The vibe is spectacular place for dinner! Rustic! Modern! Amazing aesthetics! Nash would serve us! She is super nice! Drinks: Grapefruit! Passion! Sangria! Cowboy Steak! It is meant for cowboys like the RCMP! Satisfying! Super hearty! Crab Cakes! Large and delish! Duck Wings! Candied orange! You will flip out! They are superb! Medallions! mmhmm. Beef! It's what's for dinner! Red Velvet Cake was scrumptuous! Thanks, Nash! Would order everything again!

Yelp
The Maple Leaf was a great place to come for brunch. Our waitress was really sweet and gave us the time we needed for our group of 6. We ordered the crab gratin for the table and it was a great starter. Definitely a good amount of crab in the dip. And the pitas were very tasty. 8/10 For my brunch item, I ordered the Canadian bacon Benedict. This was just alright. The egg was perfectly cooked, but the Canadian bacon didn't have much flavor. It was a huge portion with a ton of well-seasoned potatoes. 7/10 My friends ordered their specialty salmon Benedict and I tried a bite, that is definitely the best dish to get! It was very flavorful. A truly great bite. 8.5/10 maybe 9/10 For drinks, I ordered the passion fruit mimosa and the Bloody Mary. The passion fruit mimosa was really good, everything you want in a mimosa. The Bloody Mary was pretty mediocre. It tasted more like just tomato juice. But my friend ordered their specialty drink with the rosemary sprig and that was absolutely delicious! We sat in the room with the fireplace and the stuffed moose head which was really fun. It was a cozy ambiance. It was a nice casual stop.

Yelp
Had a wonderful xmas brunch! The atmosphere was very calm and cozy. Our waitress was nice and helped us with planning our day. Food was delicious! As someone who likes a big breakfast, the banana toffee French toast was not enough for a meal and I had to eat off my partner's plate. I did enjoy the banana chips on it as it gave more crunch to the meal. They have a casual seating area on the main floor and more upstairs on the 2nd floor. The stairs are well maintained with sturdy handrails. We were sat on the 2nd floor by the window where you can see the main road.

Yelp
I didn't notice until my friend pointed it out but all of the Asian people in the restaurant were seated in the same little corner. We sat down, my friend pointed it out, and I kept thinking it was a coincidence but then several white parties were sat upstairs into the nice dining area and the next Asian group that came in were put into our row. I kept watching them in the corner and the waiters would avoid looking at the group in the corner trying to order. Like I think I saw 5 waiters pass by within 10 minutes going to the party room and completely breeze by the Asian family in the corner when I know they saw them in their peripheral. I don't think it's a coincidence because we were also put with the only Asian waiter working the floor. She was great! Horrible coincidence if it is.... The food maple salmon was super good! I loved the mashed potatoes and the sauce all blended together perfectly. The bison shortribs and dip were okay although the pita that came with the dip was super good, soft and had a nice chew.

Yelp
Came here for dinner on a reservation. We were seated on the 2nd floor with a nice view of the town. Service overall is very good. They offered good recommendations, which we mainly relied on. Overall the food was fantastic and it was a terrific experience for a relaxing vacation dinner with family. I got to try two different drinks. I don't recall the Spicy Lychee Margarita ($18) having a kick, but the lychee flavoring was a nice blend with the margarita. And because we're in O Canada... they of course made their Old Fashioned ($18) maple flavored. Still a good drink with the maple sweetness to it. For appetizers, we ordered the Cast Iron Crab Gratin Dip ($28) which is made of Atlantic Crab, artichoke, and mozzarella. This was soo good that we ended up ordering extra pita, which was a $1 extra. Well worth it. We also got the Wine Country Salad ($18) because you always need a green dish. For entrees, we got the Signature Maple Salmon & Prawns ($49). Only two pieces of prawn as you can see in the photo (sad), but it also comes with mashed potato and seasonal vegetables, which happens to be asparagus when we went. They use a maple dijon glaze, which makes a nice gravy with the mashed potato. If you're willing to splurge, I'd recommend getting the 18oz Alberta Cowboy Steak ($85) for the table. This also comes with mashed potato and seasonal vegetables (asparagus during my visit). That "Cowboy Butter" they put on top enhances the flavoring. I wasn't a fan of the red wine demi that's luckily comes on the side.

Yelp
To start off we have now visited Maple Leaf twice in about 13 months! The food here is exceptional! Every bite we have eaten here has been nothing short of great! But that is not what makes this place so great. Our waitresses . They made the entire experience. They made this restaurant. Last year we had Sam, she was so amazing and thoughtful! We wanted for nothing! Then this year rolled around and we thought "no way the service could ever be better than it was last year." Boy, we were wrong. This year we had Jordan. Simply put, every waitress in the profession should strive to be like her. She was the sweetest, most thoughtful and just simply kind person we have ever met! She stood and took time to talk with us all while never letting us go without. If I were the owner of Maple Leaf, I would make sure employees like Sam and Jordan never leave. They truly made this place!

Nelson T.

Yelp
Finely decorated, two floors of good service and Canadian gourmet food. The portions seemed large in yelp reviews, and after receiving them, it was true. Expect sweet maple flavoring in the dishes. We ordered the duck wings, mussels and crab gratin. We were plenty full after those alone. Definitely try to get a second floor seat near the window for a romantic view of downtown Banff.

Gazelle G.

Yelp
Food 10/10 Service 10/10 Ambience 10/10 I will highly recommend this place. Drinks i love the most was the lychee margarita! We order the new york striploin pperfect! Chicken wings is ok kinda on a sweet side, the soup is ok not my type but my friends love it.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were seated fairly quickly. They had a good brunch and lunch menu. The indoor section wasn't too packed, but mostly people sat outside. I've ordered the steak breakfast with extra bacon, and a mimosa. It took us awhile to get ahold of the waiters, but after a while I was able to flagged someone down. We had an hour to grab food and eat due to our tour guides schedule. After getting our orders in, and food coming out, it took almost 40 minutes of our hour, so we had to rush a bit. The food came out great. Medium rare steak came out perfectly and tender. Toasts were well buttered and crispy and excellent potatoes. My partner ordered the bison burger and it came out perfectly. Even the fries were good. Food were good portions and tasted wonderful. Other than the delay in service, overall ambiance and food were terrific.

Tony J.

Yelp
We were seated on the 2nd floor with beautiful views of downtown Banff below. We started with a southwest corn soup to share, which was rich and flavorful. I got the Alberta bison tenderloin, medium rare. It was rich and juicy, though it was hard to tell the difference in taste from beef. My dad got the Brome Lake half duck, which had a slightly crispy skin and was covered in a sweet and herbal sauce. My mom got the seafood linguine, which was pretty standard. Overall, the food was pretty good, though perhaps not quite worth the price. 3.5 stars

Mary S.

Yelp
Very nice spot right downtown! Our waitress was amazing and gave excellent recommendations. We order the Fior loaf as an app and ordered the NY striploin and bison pasta. Everything was delicious. Beer on tap was good, and the cider was crisp and lovely. Definitely recommend!

Kara S.

Yelp
I saw the banana toffee French toast on the brunch menu and knew that this place was going to be good. WOW the French toast was second to none. It was for sure our favorite breakfast spot while we were in town on vacation. The place has a modern rustic mountain feel, and cozy at the same time. Not only was the food great, but the service was too. Our waiter was very friendly and gave suggestions on places we should visit. My only regret is not coming back here to try their dinner menu!

Linda V.

Yelp
Very nice ($$$) restaurant on all the main streets (corner) old world atmosphere with wood, stone and long staircase. Service was friendly (as all the places in Banff), food came out hot and tasty! We both ordered the burgers bec we know we won't get this quality at home with fries. I don't eat fried often so when I do I want crisp, salty fries and they were perfect! Nice last lunch in Banff!

ElizaRose A.

Yelp
I came in wanting to try their French onion soup but to my chagrin, they no longer had that on their menu. I ended up ordering a Benedict brekky and I am glad I did. I was delightful! I ordered some hard coffee libation, and was put off when the waiter poured a small can into a cup for me. I was taken aback! How dare he! I did take a sip however lol...I liked it so much I'm sitting at the airport with a 4 pack in my carry- on. Anyway, the food was fabulous as was the service. I will come back here when it town again.

Ashley L.

Yelp
It was okay, very dim and they stuffed a party of 10 in their bench/table set up that only fit 8 when the hostess said we could add chairs on the ends but the waitress said we couldn't due to it blocking the walkway so we had to squish. Service was slow and food was decent. They also used naan bread that was clearly from Costco which was funny.

Cindy L.

Yelp
Cast Iron Crab Gratin Dip 3 Atlantic crab, artichoke, mozzarella, grilled pita, can't taste crab, cheesy, flavorful Miso Sablefish 4 super juicy & tender, too salty, ginger & gold beet rissoto, too salty, orange shoyu tossed salad, too bitter Alberta Cowboy Steak 4 18oz bone-in ribeye, chewy, juicy, too salty, mashed potato, seasonal vegetable, cowboy hat butter, flavorful, too salty, red wine demiglaze, too salty Grapefruit Thyme Mocktail 3 light, fruity, floral

Yelp
This spot is very centrally located right in the heart of Banff, and looked like a great place to enjoy our last dinner. We were seated immediately on the patio and experienced good service throughout our entire meal. We started the meal off with the cast iron crab dip. Unfortunately, I was left wanting a lot more grab than there was in the dip. In my opinion the dip was mostly cheese and I was having trouble finding the crab there. The meal itself was good, not exceptional by any meals. The salmon was cooked well and was moist, but the prawns on top had zero flavor and it felt they were just tossed on at the end right before coming to us. Overall, the meal here we had was pleasant, but not enjoyable enough for me to return during my next visit to Banff.

Hubert H.

Yelp
An excellent restaurant with a variety of choices. The place is fairly pricey but it's Banff, what can one do. Service was excellent, wait staff was engaged and answered many questions. First the appetizers; the mozzarella bread was an excellent starter, with richly flavored mozarella on top of tender bread. It's a combination that seems obvious, but I've never quite seen it done like this before. The tomato burrata salad was also excellent; a bit smaller in portion than expected, but still fresh, and nicely dressed with a balsamic vinegar. The burrata seemed particularly fresh. The slow-braised carrot bison short rib was an excellent main; the bison was tender, not gamey-tasting, and seemed like a good alternative to the more usual beef. The carrots and sweet potato were tasty, the demi sauce was a nice way to meld all the elements together. I would have liked more applesauce in the dish. The Hunter's Chicken Supreme with roasted mushrooms, sundried tomato, pistachio crunch, mashed potato, and vegetables was quite good too; the main thing was that a dark meat chicken was expected but what came out was a breast with a drummette, whereas a drumstick with thigh was expected. The roasted mushrooms were nicely textured, and the chicken was good, though perhaps the overall dish wasn't as creative as expected. The Alberta Beef Tenderloin with smoked cheddar mash, roasted mushroom medley, demi, chimichurri was really soft and juicy; the texture was really nice and the flavors blended very well together. Overall a nice experience! I would have preferred some more creative combinations with the ingredients but overall a solid place for a nice meal.

Yelp
I've had brunch twice at Maple and Leaf in Banff, and each visit has been a delight. The service is consistently great, with friendly and attentive staff making the experience pleasant and enjoyable. The meals are tasty, with each dish thoughtfully prepared and flavorful. If you're in Banff and looking for a reliable brunch spot, Maple and Leaf is definitely worth a visit.

Vincy K.

Yelp
My partner and I decided on this restaurant during our Banff trip to celebrate our anniversary. The ambiance of the restaurant had a nice rustic feel. The service we found was casual but also very attentive. We ordered the Fior Loaf, Bison Bolognese and their Signature Maple Salmon and Prawns. We sipped on a Passion Ginger Crush drink to complete the meal. We thought the food was decent. However, we are disappointed that our server didn't let us know about the spring fling special as we ordered the same mains as the set menu. I took a star off as this affected our impression of the restaurant.

Dian M.

Yelp
We had a private room for 10 people, in the upstairs portion of the restaurant. I think if you reserve the space for more people, there may be additional charges for the room reservation. The food was delicious and enjoyed by all. Pretty solid seafood restaurant for a landlocked, touristy town. The service was great, and the hostess was very accommodating and friendly.

Daniel E.

Yelp
Amazing food and excellent service. Highly recommend...had the duck wings, raw oysters, and signature salmon & prawn dish.

Tim O.

Yelp
Though people will tell you that this is one of the best restaurants in town, my group found it to be basic and uninteresting considering the price point. Upon reflection, I'm guessing that the menu has been dumbed down quite a bit compared to what I experienced 5 years ago. The main complaint is that nothing feels particularly high end or splurgy. No tantalizing raw seafood options and no large format steaks. The pasta options (risotto, linguine) were thrown together, the two indigenous dishes we had were fine but not extraordinary. The steaks were not impressive in terms of taste, preparation, or plating. Overall this is a decent restaurant but if it's still being pitched as a picturesque Canadian mountain steakhouse, other diners with similarly high expectations will continue to be disappointed. Perhaps more of a place where you finish off a day trip than enjoy a true special occasion.

Jeannine M.

Yelp
Fantastic!!! Highly recommend the Hot Chicken Sandwich. Perfect amount of slaw and pickles....so good. Hubby had the cheese burger which he devoured. Great, friendly and prompt service. We had a window seat so we could people watch.

William G.

Yelp
Location: this restaurant has a great location right in Banff downtown near all the attractions Food: we came around 3pm and tried all the happy hour menu items including pretzel bites, nuts, Caesar salad, chips. The happy hour menu items were half off but quite underwhelming although I understand the intent so the kitchen staff can have a break. Dinner starts at 4pm we got the bison burger, at Louis ribs and salmon shrimp. The fries were very good they were battered fries so extra crispy. The bison burger was okay but not particular impressive, the bun could have been better toasted and buttered, there could have been additional add ons that would have made it better like mushrooms or bacons, the veggies on the burger were unimpressive and sauce was a bit overpowering. The St. Louis ribs presentation was the most impressive thing on the cutting board and price was good, however the ribs were only hot on outside and not hot in the inside so didn't taste very fresh. The salmon and asparagus with shrimp was pretty good but nothing that was standout or rememberable. Service: the waiters were generally good and attended pretty quickly although food came out on slower side. They were attentive to fill our waters

Jan C.

Yelp
Top notch service from Danielle! She was just great. We started with the burrata salad. This dish should not be on the menu when tomatoes are not in season. It was tasteless. Danielle quickly acknowledged the problem and took it off the bill. Mains were the elk meat balls and the gnocchi, both of which were good, not great. The sticky toffee pudding dessert was yummy, nice decadent finish to the meal. Atmosphere is nice and upscale.

Ellen C.

Yelp
We had planned to visit and an unexpected issue at the restaurant we booked resulted in us taking a chance as walk-ins to this great restaurant we had enjoyed on a previous visit. We were warmly accommodated and seated at a cozy table for four. Our server was amazing and we enjoyed salads to start (Caesar and burrata). We both loved our beef tenderloin (fantastic after a hard day of skiing). Lovely wines from the Okanagan Valley of BC. We enjoyed a shared sticky toffee pudding with coffee. Another amazing evening at the Maple Leaf - great food, inviting atmosphere and most importantly top notch attentive and authentic service! Cannot wait to come back!

Scott L.

Yelp
Always perfection. We make a reservation every time we take a trip to Banff/Canmore. The food is always excellent as is the staff. We just went for at least our 10th time and I had the stuffed chicken breast which was stupendous...and the sauce - terrific. The mash - outstanding...and even my broccolini was steller. We also had the mussels and they were great...and again, that sauce!! So good...we ordered extra garlic bread to sop it up. Thanks Maple Leaf...you're always the best in town! PS: I almost forgot the Hot Chocolate Soufle - we each should have had our own as we were almost fighting over it.

Steven J.

Yelp
We went here on a recommendation, but unfortunately, we were left disappointed. The service was good, but the food left a lot to be desired. We ordered the Caesar salad, the Fior Loaf, pancetta stuffed chicken, and the half duck. The Caesar was good, the Fior loaf was only okay, mostly too small for the price and could use a balsamic glaze or something of the like. The chicken was good, but when I say it had a child's portion of mashed potatoes, I mean it (photo included), and they were only okay. The risotto on the duck was excellent and a good portion, which makes the potatoes even more confusing. The duck was good but not as crisp and tender as I would have liked. The price was just not matching to the quality of the food. We spent $170 including tip for two people and I would put the quality of the meal at about half that.

Kelsie K.

Yelp
The Bison Rigatoni was my favorite meal in Banff! We had the restaurant basically to ourselves at 5pm on a Monday evening in the off season, no reservation required. Service was good, our waitress was full of recommendations. The restaurant gives a little fancier of a vibe and the prices reflect that, it's not as much of a vibey drop in spot like most of the downtown area.

Sheila K.

Yelp
This place was recommended by one of the locals and unfortunately, we were disappointed :( they have indoor and outdoor dining and the ambiance inside was nice, felt like a cozy cabin. We got the Bison Short Rib Hash, Smoked Salmon Benedict and fresh orange and grapefruit juice. We asked for utensils twice but they took a really long time to get it to us so my husband ate his benedict using his hands but I had to wait. He thought the salmon was tasty but the dish itself was a bit plain. I didn't really like my bison hash 'cause the meat was really dry and was hard to chew. The potatoes were okay and the poached eggs were overcooked. I think the best part of my dish was the bread that was on the side, it was crunchy and good. Our server said the juices we ordered was freshly squeezed but it wasn't, it tasted like those canned juices. Disappointing... Wouldn't recommend this place for breakfast.

Breanna P.

Yelp
My family and I were visiting Alberta, Canada during the month of August in 2023. We were in the downtown area and we chose this restaurant to have an early dinner. The food was delicious! But, the service was beyond poor. My family and were seated outside on the patio. We were the only Asian family while there were 3 other white families around us. We were a bit thirsty. So, we drank our first round of waters shortly after they were poured. So, our cups were empty for a bit. Our server was being super rude and he was taking his time with the other customers around us and he didn't even seem interested in helping us or checking on us. Our glasses of water were left empty for a while. It was very obvious that our server did not like us nor wanted to serve us. I noticed that he was helping some guests with the wine and alcohol lists. He walked by our table and didn't even notice that our water glasses were empty and they stayed empty until another server noticed and filled our cups for us. It was very clear that our server was being highly discriminating towards us. When we went to pay for our meals, the server handed us the mobile paying kiosk, he was being so rude and did not give my table the card scanner respectfully at all. He simply slammed it on our table. After we gave him our card, he inserted the card himself, took the card out, and threw it back on the table and just left our table. He gave us our receipt and didn't say a word. Such a rude waiter/server. We won't be coming back in the future.

Yelp
Mixed feelings marked our experience at The Maple Leaf in Banff. Anticipating a birthday celebration, we were disappointed by the unavailability of oysters and another dish upon arrival. The maple-cured salmon was a highlight, offering a fresh and enjoyable start. The bison tenderloin and duck were decent, but the seafood linguine fell short. Some mussels were dead, and the dish suffered from undercooked wine, rendering it unpalatable. The server shared that the staff rushed the meal--which was unexpected for a finer dining establishment. We were given two desserts to compensate for the letdown, which were just okay. While the gesture was appreciated, it couldn't fully salvage our overall impression. The Maple Leaf has potential with its highlights, but the lapses in dish availability and inconsistent quality, coupled with a rushed dining experience, resulted in our disappointing meal.

Kirstin Z.

Yelp
We walked in after not being able to get seated at another restaurant and it must have been fates way of saying "you were meant to eat here tonight." It was our anniversary and Everything was excellent. We ordered the French onion soup, the crab artichoke dip, the mussels and a spare rib. Enjoyed every bite. We even ordered the chocolate soufflé for dessert. On the pricey side, but worth every dollar. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Service was great too!

Perlita P.

Yelp
Sarah was the server last night for our daughter and son-in-law's wedding reception, she was extremely helpful and accommodating. The food was superb, people who had the steak said they tender and delectable. I ordered the salmon and it was perfectly cooked! Both desserts we were served , the crème brûlée and cheesecake were perfection. 5 stars for the service, food and location!

Jenny W.

Yelp
It's a higher end restaurant at Banff Town but I've definitely had better food in DFW at that price point. We didn't order perhaps some of their more special items such as duck or steak which could have been super delicious. Service was great, however, and they even offered you hot water for the winter. I got the preset three course: calamari, salmon and sticky toffee Calamari - possibly one of the best I've had, thin batter, quickly fried, very crunchy but the calamari was still very soft. Salty when ate too many Pork chop - huge, the peach, butter and pork chop complemented each other well but pork chop was salty to eat by itself Salmon - nice crispy skin but I'm not a fan of skin, salmon was tender, could use more flavor

Mitchell B.

Yelp
This was our one dinner out in Banff since we were in an RV and cooking in most nights. We stopped in here after a long day of hiking in need of massive nourishment, and both had the bison burger, which was exceptional.

Maranda W.

Yelp
First off, dog friendly patio had us sold! The staff was very friendly and the inside is actually HUGE! Our pup got her own bowl of water and was able to hang out with us while we ate. For drinks we got a Manhattan and a margarita! Both drinks were fantastic and we kept eyeing all the other drinks coming out as well! The margarita had black salt which I had never seen before. We got a handful of apps to share- Oysters (5/5) - came with the lemon and red onion as I expected and also came with another delicious sauce Mussels (4/5) - they were very good, not sandy at all, just on the smaller side from what we are used to and I prefer white sauce over red French onion soup (5/5)- this was so tasty and perfect for two people! I loved the bread croutons as well as the crunchy onions. Duck breast wings (5/5)- first time we had these- crunchy, juicy, saucy! It was delicious! If you like duck and wings, this is for you!

Yelp
My friends and I made reservations for dinner at the Maple Leaf, one of the more upscale restaurants in Banff. We ordered their Cast Iron Crab and Artichoke Dip, Double Pork Chop, Brome Lake Duck Breast, and their Prime Alberta Striploin. Unlike many fancy restaurants, they were quite generous with the portion size. The crab and artichoke dip was a great start to our meal. The duck breast entree I ordered came with risotto, but was very creamy. Note: - If you're from NYC like us, you'll notice that service tends to be slower in Banff. However, the majority of people are welcoming and nice. So expect the same at the Maple Leaf.

Adrianna S.

Yelp
Cute rustic place in Banff. It is on the pricier side. Service is excellent. The timely of the meal was perfect. Caesar salad was just okay but we enjoyed our entrees. Fish was slightly dry but the flavor was delicious.

Ali M.

Yelp
This was the perfect restaurant after exploring Banff the whole day. Not too fancy where you have to dress up ( I was still in my leggings / hiking clothes). The food was DELICIOUS. I come from California, and love going to steak places (Mastro's is one of my favorites). I always get a rib eye, and the rib eye was excellent. I love that they put the glaze on the side. My aunt and uncle shared the lobster /shrimp and steak. Had a couple of shrimp and it was good. For the appetizer we had the crab gratin. Bomb. Can't go wrong with crab and cheese. Would 100% come here again. Service was great and shout out to Tyler from Radventures for recommending this restaurant!

Yelp
What a lovely surprise this sweet cozy gem was in downtown Banff. We were seated upstairs which has a lovely view of the city & mountains. Started with well crafted passion ginger margaritas, rimmed with black charcoal salt & the perfect amount of sweet to citrus balance. For starters we had the Winter Salad. Fab mix of tender, delicate baby lettuces, mint, sliced pear & apple, crunchy walnuts, pecorino cheese & a yummy vinaigrette. Next course, we shared delicious & tender salt spring island mussels in a sinfully rich cream, butter & garlic sauce ... served with the best dipping garlic bread, and yes it's worth every calorie! For our mains, we enjoyed the tender & tasty Bison short rib & crunchy fried onions atop fluffy mashed potatoes with a jus & perfectly cooked asparagus. Hubby had the Half Duck & boy was it awesome! I was kind of jealous, once again perfectly cooked & presented. We each enjoyed a glass of a nice Red wine to complement our meals. Maple leaf has a great cocktail menu as well as a great craft beer list ( from their sister restaurant, 3 Bears Brewing Co) as well as a phenomenal international "wine spectator" award wine list with several great offerings by the glass. Our server, was wonderful. So friendly, knowledgeable, experienced & helpful. I will return next time I am in beautiful Banff!

Yelp
Pleasant atmosphere - courteous service - the food was prepared nicely with a good presentation. My only concern was I ordered a shot of bourbon and it seemed sort so to confirm my assumption. I ordered a second one and it was confirmed - - the shot in my learned opinion was short.

Yelp
We attended this restaurant on Canada Day for a delicious meal and outstanding service. We were fortunate to have a view of the parade while we had our appetizers. We had a leisurely meal and we were never rushed or hurried during our stay. It obviously was a busy day for the restaurant but our server was attentive. Another reviewer mentioned that it had been a cold and rainy day. They were either somewhere else or at the restaurant on a different day. Canada Day had the best of Alberta weather. We stayed right in the core of Banff until 9:00 pm.

Yelp
Impressive. Delicious tasty food. Super fresh. Simple yet delicious. Fancy atmosphere. When I go to banff, there's always a few places I must eat at. This is one of those places. A foodies dream. This place has everything a foodie is looking for: delicious food. Fresh local ingredients. Impeccable service. Visually appealing plated dishes perfect for instagram. Reasonable mid week specials to make it affordable. Romantic but truly banff atmosphere (they got antler chandeliers here!!) Like if all of that hasn't convinced you, then look at the photos of the food. It really reflects albertan/canadian local dishes. And every dish I've ordered here was perfect. Seasoned right and all, not missing anything. Just truly satisfying! It never disappoints me. The fish here is out of this world, so fresh and good! But honestly every dish I've had here was delicious. And this is my top 3 in banff (the bison and elk and oarsman being my other choices). Ps they have easy OpenTable reservations which make it convenient for planning meals in banff!

Yelp
Came to The Maple Leaf with my fiancé for dinner and we were not disappointed. We came on a Friday night with no reservations and we were seated right away. The restaurant itself is very elegant yet casual and it's location is right in the middle of Banff. We got drinks and my mans really enjoyed his cocktail and my sangria really hit the spot. For food, I got the seafood linguine and hubby got the bison braised short rib. OMG delish. My pasta had seafood in every bite and the sauce had a really nice kick to it. My only complaint is there wasn't more lol. The short rib fell right off the bone and it was so hearty and yummy. Service was super friendly. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Came here for our anniversary dinner and the little touches/details went a long way with us. Every person who assisted us greeted us happy anniversary which made it feel so personable. They sat us up top next to the window with a view of downtown Danielle, our server was amazing and very attentive. I ordered the prime Albertina strip loin which was so tasty and cooked just right. My partner ordered the maple salmon and prawns which she was very happy with as well. Overall we were very happy with our experience and would dine here again
