The Best Restaurants in Denver | Eater Denver

"Though the Eater 38 rarely includes restaurants north of Boulder, this little jewel box of contemporary cuisine in Lyons warrants an exception. The menu, which changes near-daily, traverses Europe through dishes like chorizo-stuffed calamari in its ink with potato puree and salsa verde; paglia e fieno pasta with rabbit ragu, taleggio, and radicchio; and Wagyu beef en croute in sauce au poivre verte. Chef Theo Adley takes these influences and makes them all his own. The considerate floor staff, meanwhile, does a bang-up job of walking guests through the wine list, which emphasizes small, sustainable producers." - Ruth Tobias

🌿🍸 Such a cool hidden gem in Five Points! The Marigold Bar is part cocktail bar, part plant shop — and somehow it works perfectly. The drinks are strong and well-crafted, and the whole space has a cozy, eclectic vibe thanks to all the greenery. They’ve got a great rotation of events too: karaoke, DJs, happy hours, and more. It’s the kind of place you could stop by for one drink… and end up staying all night. Bonus: you can literally leave with a plant. I mean, what more could you want? Definitely adding this to my regular rotation — and bringing friends next time.

Awesome choice for night life and dancing. Their decor and plants set an upscale vibe. You can even buy the plants that are all around the bar and dance floor. There’s a garden patio with a man made stream out back and a rooftop as outdoor options to break away from the crowd. There’s pizza open late across the street.

Only been here on a Sunday afternoons for “goodness rooftop” events but always top notch experience… House tonic is fire with any of the top shelf booze they offer. Bartenders are super cute and friendly. Always feel welcomed from the door ppl to the other foh

I dont know if its because we dont fit the "demographics" that they want there. Bartender to busy talking to his lady friend at thr bar. Place was practically empty yet sat there for a good 5 minutes with the bartender yapping it up in the corner.. Then he barley says Hi, in passing while heading to the back. No time for us to even ask a question.. then he proceeded to go back to talk to the girl and check up on a previous patron, fantastic. Never going back. Its just so easy, literally went across the street to 715 every bar seat was full. I bearly walk up to the side and a bartender is already looking my way to show he's coming to me next. Bartender at 715 was literally holding a conversation with another patron and still asked me what I wanted answered a question I had and started our drinks in the matter of seconds. Full bar to not empty bar.

Been a fan of this place for awhile but this weekend was treated like absolute garbage by staff. Want to have bartenders act like they got better shit to do? This is the place for you. Want to have folks manspread and not allow room at the bar? This place has got ya. Yeah, great place. Super welcoming.

Google
4.5/5 - Total gem of a bar! Fun, cute space with a nice rooftop to boot. This bar is located on a street with a whole strip of stuff but is pretty quiet overall even with the main streets of RiNo so close. Specialty drinks are great - I think there is something for everyone on the menu. I’ll be back - especially if I’m out and want a little more space from the packed bars in RiNo

Google
Didn't eat here but had the specialty cocktails. They had some homemade mixes for drinks that made them above average in my book. The aesthetic and ambiance can't be beat. The plants are healthy! Stop by for happy hour and maybe buy a cool plant!

Can't speak on the food but came for a Sunday Gdnss party and it was a fun time. Good drinks and good patio

Yelp
They gave me one night to do the impossible -- fifty cars before sunrise or my brother was finished. No time, no safety net, just me falling back into the life I swore I'd buried. Every second counted, every move a gamble, and somehow Marigold became the garage where it all started turning again. I sat down, ordered something strong, and the planning took over. Blueprints on napkins, whispers in dark corners, the crew falling into place like gears in an engine. Sphinx silent over his glass, Sway watching me like she knew I was already in too deep, Otto sketching Eleanor with a steady hand. Each drink was another checkpoint cleared, every shot another ignition. When the bartender slid me that final pour and called it "Eleanor," I knew it was the one that could wreck me or carry me across the finish line. Smooth, dangerous, unforgettable. By dawn we'd run the table, reckless and just barely ahead of disaster. I stepped out of Marigold not drunk, not victorious, but alive -- and sometimes that's the only scorecard that matters. Five stars and worth 50 cars.

Yelp
I like Marigold's vibe! There needs to be more bars in this area, though! It used to be filled with tons of plants my first time here and in recent visits it's not like that anymore but it's ok, they're probably trying to to be more a bar and less a part store, lol. They have extra outdoor space upstairs and outside in a back patio that I didn't realize was there at first. It's a very unique space.

Yelp
A bar and a plant shop? Say less. The Marigold Bar on Welton is giving spirit-forward cocktails and strong oxygen levels -- what a combo. Come for the drinks (they do not play around), and stay for the good vibes: karaoke nights, DJs, happy hour deals, and just an all-around fun atmosphere. Plus, you're literally surrounded by plants. It's like if your favorite greenhouse decided to start serving cocktails. In the heart of Five Points, this place is such a unique, welcome surprise. I'm already planning my next visit -- might even bring a new pothos home with me.

Yelp
Cute spot, great happy hour prices, they also sell plants! Bartender was friendly and we had a good time!

Yelp
Normally, I give this place high marks, but tonight I was made to feel like a third-class citizen. As a 42-year military veteran, I always carry my official government-issued retired military ID. It's federally recognized, and I've never had an issue using it--until tonight. When I arrived, I presented my military ID to the ID checker, and he let me in with no problem. I sat down to enjoy the evening, but moments later, the same gentleman came back and asked me for a state-issued ID. I asked why, since the military ID is a legitimate form of identification. He insisted, so I showed him my state ID and pointed out that it had the exact same information. He said nothing and walked off. The only reason I stayed and gave two stars instead of one is because I drove 30 minutes to get here--and the drinks and overall vibe are usually solid. But that incident ruined the mood for me. Veterans already deal with enough disregard in other parts of life. Now we can't even go out for a drink and be treated with basic respect? What's this world coming to?

Yelp
Great ambiance with a band on First Fridays. I enjoyed the N/A tequila me softly which has a nice balance of sweet and tart, without booze!

Yelp
Lovely venue to meet for cocktails; it has a cool ambiance with dimly-lit neon lights, plants, art, and a Photo Booth. Cocktails come out quickly and are quite tasty! We paid about $14 each. Cute experience; I'd definitely come back!

Yelp
Plant party, tattoos and delicious drinks?! What more could a girl ask for? So much fun, lovely service and the best vibes! Love this little spot!!

Yelp
Good drinks, fair variety, lots of space to mingle. And PLANTS! to fawn over and/or drunkenly buy (they all seemed fairly healthy, I was bored & did a little pruning). A drink bachelorette party fell out of the Photo Booth onto me... I was also there with a bachelorette party so... maybe just a coincidence, or maybe it was on a party planning website? I dunno, but you've been warned.

Yelp
The gin-based drinks are delicious and the atmosphere is wonderful. The art is cool and I love that you can buy plants there!

Yelp
As a Venus-ruled Libra/Taurus this place ticks all the right boxes. Beautiful plants, designer decor, and fancy drinks. It's lovely. Like, I wish I had more girlfriends so we could hang out there. Or maybe I'll take myself on a date there and sit in a comfy chair and read a book while I sip. I've been wanting to try this place for awhile, but ended up there on accident. We were looking for coffee late one Sunday afternoon, but all the coffee shops were closed. So we had drinks instead. The drinks we had were superb. I don't remember which one I tried, but there was some really nice gin involved. And the bartender said they might get an espresso machine...

Yelp
Botanics and beverages - a perfect combination at Marigold. The bar is lit by the violet blue grow lights. Our bartender was super friendly and helpful with both our cocktail choices and plant selection. She was proud to serve me one of her creations - a smooth mix of bergamot liqueur and brandy. As I drank my crafted cocktail, I could feel my lungs filling with the oxygen generated by all the plants. (Thanks, Mr. Saunders, for that photosynthesis lesson back in junior high!)

Yelp
Cuuutteee plant bar! The drinks are good and the plants are a plenty. If you're in the mood for a chill bar with cool ambiance then this is your place. The service was great and the staff was really friendly. They also have a rooftop that you can go hangout at on a nice sunny day. Definitely worth stopping in, grabbing a drink and maybe buying a little plant friend.

Yelp
They played '04 Gucci on a Monday night. I was a happy man. Sarah, Megan, and, Kelcee are the coolest bartenders in Denver.

Yelp
Marigold has a very fun and trendy vibe! They sell house plants and cocktails which is an interesting idea. Both drinks we order were excellent and very unique! However, I do wish there were a couple more signature cocktail options on the menu. Service took a while because it seemed like there was only one bartender for the whole operation. But she worked very hard to get to us as fast as she could. Overall, this is a must go if you are looking for a drink in the Five Points area.

Yelp
Had to check this place out! Cute plants everywhere! And yes, they are all for sale! They have cocktails, wine, beer and beautiful murals to look at. As soon as you enter, you are greeted and asked for your ID (21+ only) by super friendly staff. They do have an outdoor patio, and upstairs area, which unfortunately wasn't ready. All and all, 10/10

Shantasky W.

Yelp
The ambience is relaxed and fun. The service was slow because there was 1 mixologiston a Friday night. However, the drinks were well made.

Yelp
Great bar in old town Arvada in the alley. High quality , unique drinks in a casual low key setting and awesome prices to boot!

Yelp
Great ambiance, love the backyard and the rooftop seating during the summer, always good music and drink options as well as hanging out around plants
google avatar

Drew L.

Yelp
Bar interior was really cool. Obviously the plants for sale was a cool twist. Service was great and friendly. Specialty drinks were a little too sweet for my liking. But they had other options with beer on tap. And custom cocktails

Yelp
Wow! What a cool place! Went on opening day and damn... was lit! so excited to see what they do in the next few months!

Sandra L Y.

Yelp
Pretty interior, drink prices were normal to high, plants need better maintenance, but the STAMP?! Why??? It's not a nightclub! Use wrist bands or change the ink because it does NOT come off and looks so unprofessional at work the next day!
