I wanted to experience the Bonton Farm for a long time. I finally found the time to visit for lunch in May.
It is a lovely dining spot with southern down home dining. You can eat inside or on their outside patio that oversees the garden that they are well-known for in the southern area. We chose to sit outside. The patio is covered and we'll ventilated even for a May afternoon. It was over 90 outside and I couldn't tell! ...and I hate the heat!
We order the fries, fried green tomatoes, biscuit flight, chicken wing plate and catfish plate. The service was a bit slow, however, they had a fairly large tour group having lunch that day. Overall, the food was "good", but not well seasoned for my liking. Now, if you like a good clean, "let the food speak for itself" flavors, it is worth the trip. I still love going here, because it is a great place to visit.
We missed the goats, but got to see the garden a bit. We also missed the coffee shop and the marketplace because everything closes at 3pm.
I would say, if you want a fun, relaxed morning or early afternoon experience, this is definitely a go-to! It was an overall great experience!
