The Marlin Hotel

We honestly don’t leave reviews very often, but this one is absolutely worth it. The hotel is beautiful, very comfortable, and perfectly located. Everything is very clean and well maintained, and a big plus is that they provide beach chairs and umbrellas with no hassle at all. They also do their best to get you into your room as early as possible if you arrive early, at no extra charge, which we really appreciated. That said, what truly made our stay exceptional was Ada, the morning shift receptionist. Her service was outstanding and genuinely made our experience so much better. She was always kind, attentive, and incredibly helpful, often going above and beyond what was expected. It’s rare to come across someone who cares this much about guests, and it really shows in everything she does. Thanks to Ada, our stay was memorable. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel, especially because of the amazing service we received.

Love this hotel. Our room was super cute (550 sq ft) bed was comfy, super clean, couch was great, the throw blankets were very homey, beach bag with beach towels, they give u beach chairs n and umbrella which was amazing. The hotel smelled great and was super clean. The Italian restaurant was good too. Good location to walk to the beach, stores and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay.

The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the customer service is very good, I can't ask for better people. I gave it 3 stars only because of the strong odors. In the hall near the rooms there are strong odors from cleaning products. I can handle this but not cigarette smoke. Upon arrival I was told smoking is not allowed, but my room smelled so much like cigarettes that I told them I needed a different room. They put me on a different room and the person I talked to said he did not smell any smoke and told me again that they don't allow smoking, so I told him I have never been in any hotel that had a strong cigarette smell like this one, and BTW I'm 59 so I've been to a lot of them. It's fine that they don't allow smoking in the rooms but I can only go by what my nose tells me. If it's hard to breathe then I will have a very hard time staying there. For people who smoke this won't be a problem at all.

Unacceptably bad experience here. Hard to imagine it’s labeled as a 4-star hotel. Both my wife and I got allergic reactions. We sneezed a lot, and my wife got tearing and swollen eyes and also red spots on her skin. Our friends got sore throat and coughing. Not sure what exactly caused these, but we smelled mold in our friends’ room on 3rd floor and strong smell of fragrance in our room on 2nd floor. I guess the fragrance is used to cover up the smell of mold. We all got rid of these allergic symptoms after leaving the hotel for a day. Other issues: sweat smell from the bed, small room, loud A/C, mandatory amenity fees, and far distance to parking garage. Front desk is friendly and helpful. But understandably they can do nothing about these. P.S. We also stayed in some under-maintained Airbnb in Miami but even that doesn’t cause us any allergic symptoms.

This hotel was a great location,the room was super small, the service at the front desk was just average at best . They need to update their advertising. They said they "offer" room service and valet parking,they DON'T. If you book through a travel sight beware of the extra $32 a day charge for absolutely NOTHING. They won't remove it ,we asked and they were very rude about it. I would recommend finding another place to stay in that area personally. The mattress was awful, bathroom was tiny ,no view it was a concrete wall. I could go on and on ...

In order to avoid a cancelled or delayed flight the day of our cruise, we decided to fly in a day early and stayed one night at the Marlin Hotel. We had never stayed in Miami before and thought it would be a great way to start the trip. Fast forward 2 and a half weeks! We get our credit card statement. We paid for the room, which was fine, however, I noticed a second charge the following day. I attempted to call the hotel multiple times the day I received our cc statement, there was no answer, nor was I able to leave a message requesting a call back. The following day, same thing, I made several attempts at reaching someone to no avail, so I continued to hang up and redial until someone finally picked up. When I explained the situation to the man on the phone, he put me on hold for about 7 minutes. Upon his return to the phone call, he informed me that the mini bar had been utilized. I let him know that is not possible as we did not touch it and had also been asked at check out, to which we kindly let the staff know we did not touch it. I again, let him know that we did not touch it and he proceeded to tell me that there was a note attached to our room, that we had consumed a Capt. Morgan, 2-Gins, 2-Vodkas, and 2-Johny Walkers! If we had consumed these items, we would have gladly paid for them. But we did not. It was only $72.76 billed to our credit card, but that is NOT THE POINT! Bottom Line, if you want to throw money away for something you did not consume, by all means, feel free, but I work hard for my money and do not just give it away unless it is to charity. We will NEVER return to this hotel. I would be careful if you do. Make sure you do a walkthrough with a housekeeper before you check out or take a video so you have proof! Due to the fact that the man on the phone basically was calling me a liar, we will be disputing the minimal charge since we did not consume the spirits.

Super cute boutique hotel. Staff was amazing, got an upgrade and early check in. Room was a great size, super clean. It was just a one night stay as we flew out the next day to our final destination. Location is great, 1 block from beach, surrounded by plenty of food options and markets. Definitely will stay again when we go back to Miami.

Some pluses and minuses about the Marlin hotel in Miami - the rooms were modern and location was great. Front desk staff was friendly. A couple of issues were - the rooms are quite small, the bottles of shampoo/body wash were very small, and we stayed on the first floor and there was a lot of street noise at night so it was hard to sleep.

Really poor service. Would not recommend staying here, especially with all of the hotels available in South Beach. Front desk is quite rude.

The Marlin Hotel on Collins Avenue in Miami Beach is a great place to go for a quality stay in the middle of everything. I really like the location and atmosphere that they have available here. I have been happy with all of the stays that I have had here.

The Marlin hotel has consistently been my top choice when deciding where to stay in Miami. The guest rooms have always offered a luxury experience with fluffy white bath robes, canary yellow beach towels, and the always appreciated makeup wipes. It's the little details that elevate a vacation experience and the Marlin never disappoints. The service is also top notch. My husband had several Zoom meetings during the day which he needed to take in our room and the housekeeping was happy to work around our schedule despite the busy week (the hotel was at full capacity when we checked in). Maria Teresa was especially thoughtful and accommodating. It makes all the difference when hotels have wonderful staff members like her. All in all, I was very happy to see the Marlin maintain its high quality across the board even during the pandemic.

Came here to check out the neat bar in the lobby. We had a couple of drinks and the bartender was great. Good conversation, very engaging and gave us some other recommendations in the area. We also got a slice of cheesecake to go. We would come back and stay here next time.

Very nice room, but horrific service. On a Saturday night, only one person working as concierge, who seems to have just started the job or is just doing everything very slowly. Waiting for everything for hours. Extremely dissatisfied.

I would absolutely caution against booking this property. We were booked for a few days in March of this year. We did NOT know about the street shutdown in the area around the hotel for Spring break. The hotel did send some information about this THE MORNING of our reservation. We were already in the air coming from Seattle, flying to Miami so did not see this information or have time to make other arrangements. One in our party is disabled and there was nowhere to drop them off before finding a garage blocks away that we would then have to drag our belongings to the hotel in an area we did not know at all. When we tried to cancel after arriving to find a hotel that could better accomodate our party, the person on the phone was exetremely rude and cruel and the hotel never refunded any of our full cost. We paid full price with no refund and never even stayed there. DO NOT stay here!

WORST HOTEL EVER. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. If I could give negative stars here I would. HORRIFYING experience. the staff didn't come to help me unload despite my limping with a broken toe. while I was unloading and turned my back to get a bag, my computer bag was stolen. along with other valuables. at the hotel entrance because no staff helped. there are homeless people everywhere at the entrance they know better. I spent the night at the police station and the staff was completely unhelpful. during the two hours I was actually in the hotel I didn't sleep cause I could hear every door open and close in the hallway. the rooms are tiny with no room for luggage. guess mine being stolen left me with extra space. and when I asked for a refund the manager was completely unhelpful. and would not even offer a complementary breakfast. truly a battering experience. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

This is a very nice boutique hotel with a great history and lots of charm. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Housekeeping did a great job in taking care of us. The location is close to all you'd want to do in South Beach. We stayed here just before spring break to avoid the rush of college parties and had no problems with street noise. The beach is a short walk away and the hotel provides you with beach towels, chairs, and an umbrella. I'd recommend using their chairs and renting a sturdy umbrella at the beach and forego their flimsy umbrella. Our room was very comfortable and had several nice touches that you don't see in chain hotels. Our only room issue had to do with the two TV's. They were so close, the remotes would change the channels on both sets when both were in use. They had Netflix, but the language was in Dutch or German and we, or the front desk, didn't know how to switch it back to English. I'd recommend The Marlin if you don't require a pool, but why would you when the beach is so convenient. .

Absolutely without a doubt the worst staffed hotel ever. This is A beautiful boutique hotel. The staff is so incompetent that it will ruin your entire stay. Managment is more rude than the staff. Walls are paper thin and you can here everything your neighbor is doing. Things you need to know. No turn down service No continental breakfast No daily room clean unless requested by 12 same day Bar coupon for a couple must be used at the same time. A ton of confusion on which wine you may be allowed to have. Be ware of the things not in the mini bar. They will charge for almost anything you touch.

Here for the holidays yet Phil (front desk boy) is an absolute Grinch. I don't normally post here unless I have something positive to say but I'd like to caution future guests from staying at this hotel if they are looking for quality service. If location is all you care about, then this place is perfect. 1) Room wasn't ready. The Marlin Hotel states a 4p check in time, yet when we arrived our room was not ready. It seems the previous guests paid for a delayed checkout yet the staff was unable to prepare the room in the 2 hours from 2p - 4p. 2) Broken TV. I reserved the Deluxe Superior room and the large TV that the hotel boasts was not functional! 3) Rude staff. Despite the aforementioned issues, the staff did little to appease the situation. I don't understand why a negative person, like Phil, would choose to work in hospitality. What's more, the staff manager "is on vacation" and so not able to respond to emails and left no one in charge ‍ 4) Parking. Please note that The Marlin uses a 3rd party to manage its Valet Parking. That service takes at least 20 mins to retrieve your vehicle. Plan accordingly! (especially if you're headed to the airport) In sum, stay here if proximity to the beach is all you care about.

Overall I enjoyed my stay at the Marlin. I'd consider staying here again mainly due to the convenience, but I'd check other options first. Here's my pros and cons list: Pros: It is very close walking distance to the strip and the beach. They provide a beach bag with beach towels They give you a nice large free bath robe with slippers Nicely stocked mini fridge that wasn't too overly priced The AC worked great Cons: Extremely loud noise from the street (spring break) at night AND neighboring rooms. I somewhat expected the street noise but wasn't expecting the neighboring room noise. I could hear everything the room next to me we saying at night and they weren't being overly loud. I had to sleep with a sound machine The shower took a while to heat up The bed was a little stiff The room was pretty small. Long strands of hair on areas of the floor.

Although this is an exceptionally beautiful hotel, the service was awful. We arrived before the room was ready (we arrived at 3 and check in was at 4), we couldn't even park our car in the lot-valet parking. We were told to park at a Municipal lot which is so stupid. I prepaid for the room, so I didn't understand why we couldn't leave our suitcases there and park while we waited for the room to be ready. I left my cellphone number to call when the room was ready while we walked around outside. They didn't call. I had to call them at 4 and they were like, "oh yeah, your room has been ready." The tv turned on every hour at night until we took the batteries out of the remote. We wanted to have breakfast there, but there was no hostess even 15 minutes after the front deck said the restaurant opened. No one sat us at a table, gave us a menu or anything. After 10 minutes of being ignored we left and had breakfast elsewhere. Overall a huge disappointment.

We arrived late and the party was already in full swing. The restaurant was pumping and there was a short Latino man in a bathrobe who looked like Al Pacino in Scarface asking the front desk to open his Prosecco bottle. In short, it was the perfect way to start our evening in south beach. We'll be back.

There was a Midnight to 6am curfew at the time of our stay because of COVID and there were still drunks arguing or knocking down trash cans outside in the alley. We were on the third floor and it was still loud. I can only imagine how it will be after the curfew is lifted. I suppose this is the price of a convenient location. For the cost of this hotel, I was very surprised by the pettiness of hotel management. In booking this property it stated: "Beach Bag Kit refreshed daily, including Daily en suite Nespresso coffee, Daily en suite premium natural spring water and chocolates, Daily newspaper [among other things unrelated to my issue]. I expected that the bottle of Fiji water (a premium brand) placed right next to the Nespresso coffee machine was the "Premium natural spring water" mentioned since the only other water was a small, 6 ounce, no name bottle of water (not spring water) next to the bed. The free bottle of Fiji was a nice perk, except that it wasn't. The "premium spring water" was strategically placed right next to the coffee machine. Not inside the mini bar fridge with the other items. So we were quite surprised to find an a sizable minibar charge tacked onto our bill after we got home. Yes, they billed us the next day along with some room taxes they said they forgot to add. Two days later we recieved another charge on our card for an 'additonal' bottle of water they also forgot to add. No email notice or phone call, just charged to my Visa. When I called to question the discrepancy between the advertised 'free' water and the subsequent billing for it, I was told I should have read the pamphlet near the minibar and I would see that water is not free. When I reminded them that was also no chocolates or newpaper, the reponse was "you have to ask for those". Ok, that's interesting logic. I would expect these types of shenanigans from a tourist trap motel, not a pricy place to stay like this. There were other minor but irritating issues, like the digital clock flashing the wrong time and nobody could fix it. No ventilation in the bathroom so steam from hot showers give the room a slight moldy smell. And no slippers -- never stayed at $175 a night hotel that didn't provide a simple set of slippers. Over all, you can do much better than this place for the money.

The staff was very nice, but there were no housekeeping services due to COVID. You had to call the front desk whenever you need towels, toilet paper, or anything else. We were there for five nights and would have had to change all the sheets and pillowcases ourselves. We also had to empty our own trash cans daily. So it didn't feel like much of a hotel stay. Other hotels in Miami Beach had housekeeping services, but this one did not. The hotel was located in an extremely noisy area on Collins Ave. during spring break. It was not family friendly in this area. Lots of screaming, yelling, and blasting music from cars all night. The police presence was good in the area, and they did the best they could. The Marlin had a security guard each day outside in the front of the building that helped. At least they were trying to help control who came in. Due to spring break, the restaurant was closed from Thursday through Sunday. We ate at the restaurant on a Tuesday night and it was excellent. We were very disappointed we couldn't dine there again because it was closed due to the chaos on the street. Again, this part of Collins Avenue was one of the worst areas for public spring breakers and noise, so all restaurants, shops, and bars had to close Thursday through Sunday by 8 PM. We didn't feel safe around here at night. We were also very disappointed there is no pool on the property or at least a deal with a sister property or nearby hotel where they would let Marlin guests use their pool. That would've been very nice. The beach access the Marlin offers was also a very wild and noisy part of the beach. It was dirty and really wasn't family friendly. I wound up having to pay for a day pass at the Savoy Hotel which was absolutely beautiful. My daughter and I used the pool and their beach access which was quieter and more residential. It was costly though. Because the Marlin didn't have a pool and the beach access was sketchy, I had to pay $300 for a day pass just to go to a nice, clean place.

I've stayed in at least half a dozen different Miami Beach hotels, and visited many more. The Marlin Hotel is my new favorite for singles or couples without children. The Marlin is ideal for couples who don't need a pool but want to be within walking distance of all of South Beach. The hotel is basically at the epicenter of South Beach, meaning you have six or fewer blocks to walk to most attractions, bars, and restaurants. There are many, many ways to access the grandest pools in Miami Beach (check out Groupon) so having a pool at your hotel is not at all necessary. I think pool hopping is what makes Miami Beach a special place, so don't let "no pool" dissuade you from choosing The Marlin. The entrance to the hotel is through the double doors of the restaurant Osteria Del Teatro facing Collins Avenue. After entering, you'll see a check-in desk on the right. There are only 33 rooms, so you're likely to be checked in immediately with no wait. You can either use the stairwell on the far right or the elevator on the left of the check-in desk to get up to the rooms. The decor of our second-floor room is upscale, contemporary, and well lit. The free Nespresso coffee maker in the room is a great touch. A beautiful bathroom with nice linens and great water pressure. Flat screen TV, large king bed, chaise lounge, beautiful built-in wardrobe for storage. I did not notice significant street or pedestrian noise at all. Pulled the curtains and it was perfectly quiet inside. The interior of the room is the nicest I've found in Miami Beach, and the boutique size and atmosphere of the hotel are a time warp back to when hoteliers were king, not hotel corporations. Seriously... try this place. You'll probably love it, too.

My maid of honor booked this hotel for my bachelorette party and we could not have stayed in a better hotel! The rooms were large, modern, and clean. They even helped facilitate a champagne welcome by a friend who couldn't make it! I loooved the high end beauty products, from the soap and shampoo to the high grade hair straightener. Robes were comfy, and the beds were large and so fluffy. The location is one block from the beach and surrounded by everything you could need, from liquor stores to restaurants, to casual fast dining. Despite all the foot traffic outside, the rooms stayed quiet which led to a perfect sleep. My only con was that the hotel kept the room at a FREEZING 63 degrees; we kept turning the temperature up and then house keeping would turn it back down.

Really nice hotel in South Beach, 2 min walk to Ocean Drive. The room was beautiful and spacious. Bed was extra comfortable .The room also comes with so many little knick knacks. I loved that they provided an umbrella so that we didn't have to go buy one. The robes were super soft. There was lots of sunlight in each room. Bathrooms were very clean and modern. The restaurant downstairs was delicious and they have happy hour from 5-7 pm. Would definitely stay here again!

Leaving the Marlin hotel today and I'm bummed. I had such a wonderful stay the hotel is lovely it smells amazing everyone who works here is so helpful and courteous especially David. He is such a wonderful asset to the hotel.. he was so helpful with everything. My room was perfect i stayed on the first floor not much of a view but the room itself was so comfortable and beautifully decorated. They provided everything even a hair straightener which was way better than mine. It's a block from the beach and walking distance to restaurants, nightlife and shopping. I am leaving feeling like I have a place in Miami because anytime I come here I'm staying at the Marlon. Thank you to all hotel staff for such an incredible 5 days!

Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Told them that the phone in the room as well as the iron weren't working. They did nothing!! One of the guys at the front desk was more into his cellphone than trying to help. The girl working Sunday at the front desk told us " I have no voice' when we told her our complaints. Waited an hour for the valet service. And still getting charges on our debit card Very poorly run

Nice Hotel in south beach miami. I really love the room here and also this hotel walking to the beach just 1 block and so many restaurant and bar around hotel. That good location for stay.

Stayed here this weekend with my husband and enjoyed our stay. This is a refurbished hotel that has the character of Miami Beach's Art Deco legacy but the niceties of modern amenities, and then some! I mean down to the last detail they had everything, from the nice quality sheets, tasteful decoration, BIG lounge sofa large enough for a family to relax on, a remote control to open/close the drapes, lots of hangers in the closet, 2 bathrobes, 2 sets of bath slippers, a beach bag with 2 large beach towels for your beach days, free water bottles, bedside chocolate, Nestle coffee maker with the caps, big LED TV, in-room safe, large umbrella, beautiful modern bathroom, personal disposable wipes, dimmer switches in all the rooms, curling iron in addition to the standard hair dryer, great rain shower, and a lovely complimentary European style breakfast! The only negatives were the following: when we got to our room we checked the bedding for bedbugs (due to a recent review on TripAdvisor). Unfortunately we found 2 dead ones in the bedding which freaked me out. I called the front desk and they immediately apologized and moved us to another room on the 3rd floor, which was clear. They later told me they called an exterminator who said what we saw were "ants", and I didn't want any argument, but I know the difference between an ant and a bedbug, and unfortunately it was the latter. The other small negatives were the shower leaked water onto the bathroom floor, requiring a lot of sopping up of puddles. And the bathroom outlet didn't work so I had to dry my hair in the living room. All in all except for the negatives noted, we enjoyed our stay, with all the extras making up for the other.

I really enjoyed this place and would definitely come back. The lobby/ reception is basically a work desk to the right when you come in. The workers there were very cordial, explained how the iPad works for operating the TV, changing the light colors, etc. To the left there's a bar with about 6 chairs. Also a few couches. Felt fairly relaxing. We also got a ticket to a wine tasting the hotel hosts for an hour almost every day. The room was pretty spacious for two. The huge TV was fully functional. Couch converts into a bed pretty easily (by removing the cushions). Queen-size bed was very comfortable. Lighting system was a little complex to figure out (you get all sorts of groovy colors) but overall it was fine. Shower, towels, etc all good. Wifi was reliable, though it kept kicking me off everytime I left the room and I'd have to relog back in. A couple of small downers that prevented this place from getting a 5: The elevator was very creaky --- at one point started moving before the door closed. Use the stairs if you're on the 2nd floor. There's a very large area of seating behind the bar, it used the be a restaurant but there's nothing there now. Just lots of empty tables. Gives the place a sad vibe. Hopefully they'll fill it up. The immediate area on Collins is pretty dead. Washington is a block behind, Ocean is a block ahead, and the beach is right off Ocean. But stay off Collins if you're looking for bars, restaurants, etc. Unless you go north (toward Lincoln). I'd definitely come back.

Great boutique hotel! The location was perfect for my first time in Miami. The rooms were very nice and clean. We had dinner at the restaurant downstairs, which was good as well. I would stay here again!

Colorful exterior! a bit noisy, but otherwise a nice stay! right across from the beach!

I did a ton of research before deciding on The Marlin - and am so glad I did. Expectations ran sky high and they were met. It's in an excellent location in the heart of South Beach, right by the beach. Everywhere I wanted to go (South Pointe Park, Lincoln Road Mall, Holocaust Memorial, etc.) was walkable. Plus it's a 40 minute bus ride to the airport. My friend and I stayed in the most basic Queen Studio, which I booked for $179 per night (including taxes + fees) via Priceline for four nights. The very nice room included an iHome station and mini bar. There was complimentary breakfast every morning from 8-10. The staff were wonderfully pleasant and helpful - particularly the front desk ladies and the manager, Jason. During Hurricane Matthew, they generously gave out bags at breakfast for us to take additional food to our rooms and served us a delicious lasagna/ziti dinner complete with soup and salad. Would most definitely come back.

The Marlin Hotel is a great place to stay. All of the staff that we have encountered at the front desk have been wonderful. Perfect location, 12street and collins, beach is like 1 block away. You are close within walking distance of all the action on Ocean Drive but still away from all the madness that goes on. Room is very clean, we stayed in a Deluxe suite, nice size, the lights are cool within the room, u can dim them to set the perfect mood....i could go on and on but overall, our experience hands down was one of the best! Our stay was from Fri-Mon.

This is not a traditional five-star hotel. This is an art deco masterpiece built in 1939. We loved it here! Very clean. Staff was responsive to our requests.

I haven't yet visited the Marlin but am planning to arrive this Thursday for my mom's birthday but I had to give 5 stars to the two people who have been nothing short of helpful, efficient, and kind each time I have called with questions and concerns: DAVID and VIRGINIA! Thank you for your professionalism!!

This hotel has an excellent location, right long the strip and near the beach. Our stay was short but we had blast. Everything was within walking distance. My next stay in Miami will definitely be at The Marlin Hotel!

Hotel was okay. We had probably the worst room in the building, 1st floor window was in an alley way and the room was right next to door to get to the restaurant/lobby so you kept hearing the door shut every time someone went through. The walls also seem paper thin you could hear everything. The few time we watched tv there was a line down the screen the whole time that we couldn't get off and the signal kept cutting out. The location of the hotel is great! So many stores and places to eat within walking distance, plus the beach is a block away! The service and everyone their were also very nice. The hotel also seemed very clean. I guess being Miami you shouldn't be in the hotel the whole time, so it's reasonably priced for what you get.

I absolutely loved the five days I spent at The Marlin. I was in South Beach for the first time, all alone, and working long days at the SB Wine & Food Festival. This hotel was the perfect choice to walk to and from "work" each day. It's right in the heart of South Beach, but not right next to the crazy, loud nightclubs. I had never stayed in a boutique hotel before. The Marlin has only 12 or 13 rooms, and I was always greeted by someone at the front desk, who asked how I slept or how my day was. It was almost like staying at a B&B because of how intimate it is. Well, a B&B that feels like a chic, Miami lounge downstairs, and a lush, modern suite upstairs. Seriously, these rooms are to die for. They give you an iPad upon check-in, which controls everything in your room (TV, curtains, lights, AC, etc.). The rooms are big - probably the size of a studio apartment - so I actually enjoyed staying in on the nights I was exhausted. And the shower was AMAZING. My only complaint is that the walls are really thin. The first night I stayed there, people in the room next to me were blasting music and shouting for hours. I could hear everything. Thankfully they were gone the next day. But you can even hear the elevator when it opens from inside your room. Oh, and it smells really strongly of weed. That didn't really bother me, but it might get to some people. I had the fish tacos and lobster bisque from the restaurant downstairs, and they were great. Definitely a step above typical room service food. Overall, I'm a big fan and would stay here again in a heartbeat. If you're looking for a more traditional hotel experience, this isn't the place for you.

I loved the Marlin. This was our first time staying in South Beach and I'm glad I found this Hotel thru Jetsetters! Pros: Great Location- near many bars, clubs, and restaurants and a block away from the Beach; Friendly Service- loved how the hotel manager gave us recommendations to places to go in SOBE; Beautiful Room- Décor was all white, TV in the mirror, waterfall shower, and super comfy beds; iPad- You get an iPad to control the room and go online! Cons: No Pool- but they do provide a beach bad and towel for you to enjoy the beach.

Visiting Miami from Dallas, Tx .. The hotel was gorgeous don't get me wrong ! But I was a little disappointed because the TV was not in the mirror and the room was a lot smaller than I'd seen in pictures .. But the location is amazing the room is beautiful , the bathroom is gorgeous!! Right by the night excitement and the beach .. Within walking distance of anything you would want to do ! When I asked about the TV in the mirror I was told that the hotel is currently remodeling and putting a restaurant in the lobby .. So I understood .. Beautiful hotel !! Staff is very nice and easy on the eyes .. Would definitely stay there again when the remodeling is done !!

We stayed in a deluxe suite, and it was great! The hotel keeps the 20s vibe both on the inside and outside, but it's refurbished and well cared for. When we walked into our room, I could imagine that a silent film star had once stayed there. The room was huge, and bright, and airy with a king-size bed and a very large daybed. There was a long desk, a good closet, mini-bar, nespresso machine, and a nice bathroom with lovely amenities and a great shower! The staff was nice, and the location was perfect -- an easy walk to the beach and all the restaurants/bars on Ocean Ave. There was some street noise late at night when people were leaving the bars, but not too bad. We did not try the restaurant.

Just spent a weekend at the Marlin Hotel..our first time in Miami. We loved the hotel. The Marlin is a boutique hotel in the best part of South Beach. Modern, stylish, clean and close to the beach and restaurants and shops are just walking distance. We were especially impressed with the service we received from Alex. He was personable, friendly and always there to help us with anything. The rooms are clean and modern and I loved the lighting. The room lights and the bathroom lights changed color and the TV was large and in the wall mirror. Haha my parents were in another room and couldn't find it. They had to ask Alex to show them. Bathroom was modern and had a really sexy rainshower. I swear I took 5 showers in the two days I was there. The king sized bed was so comfortable and we slept every morning way too late. We were there for a wedding and the rehearsal dinner was held at the restaurant in the hotel. The food was so good! Delicious and the service was top notch I guess I should say the only downside is there is no pool...not an issue for us this trip because we came in December but hey the beach is one block away so maybe it isn't a downside after all. I will definitely stay at this hotel again. I hope it won't be too long until we go back.

We loved the Marlin Hotel. The decor was modern. Our room was clean, spacious, and had lots of light from the wrap-around windows. The location was great with restaurants nearby and only a 1 block walk down to the beach. The staff was very friendly, greeting us each morning and offering suggestions any time we asked.

The Marlin is one of the most astonishing hotels I have stayed at. Everything about this hotel screams luxury. The moment I walked into The Marlin, I was surrounded by a spa like aroma, which was instantly relaxing. As I walked into the room, I was further impressed. The room was immaculate. It included state-of-the-art remote control lights and blinds, a terrific sound system for your entertainment, and high end beauty products for your convenience. The bed was so fluffy and comfortable. On top of everything, the location of The Marlin is perfect. Its located only 1 block from the beach and in the heart of all of the nightlife and shopping. I will absolutely be planning my next stay at The Marlin Hotel.

Perfection! They are a boutique hotel but they have 5 star service. The aroma is clean and fresh I asked what it was it's green lemon grass and they had it installed in their air conditioning. The rooms are beautiful. Clean and the tv is in the mirror. Controlled by an ipad....high tech! Wish they served food the lobby is perfect for a classy lounge and intimate brunch.

Nice lobby. $29 to park car, but it would have been nice if they informed me it is $15 right across the road. Lots of funky gadgets in the room. Too complicated though. Tv mirror too dark to watch. Receptionist couldn't fix the problem and that was that, unwatchable tv for me. Funky ceiling shower, problem though, only half of the head worked, trickle of a shower for me. Toilet paper single ply, maybe the cheapest nastiest toilet paper I've seen in the US. Room is small and not well insulated, you can hear everything the maids are chatting about in the morning. I had an emergency call from my bank overseas in the night and needed to write some details down. No pen or paper in the room. Really? I should have stayed in a holiday inn for half the price, it would have been more comfortable. Avoid.

We stay for 2 nights on a last minute trip to meet some friends. After looking online for the deals, we called them to confirm they still had a room available. For our surprise, the room was cheaper when we called. So our first advice is: Before booking online call them, we got a better deal than those booking websites just bc we called. Second Advice: The only reason I did not give 5 star for the hotel was for the valet parking system. As soon as we arrived we were advised to call ahead of time 15 min before to request our car... well, we waited 45 minutes to get our car. When you have a 4 hour drive ahead of you, 45 minutes makes a huge difference. The room: The room was amazing! They give you an iPad that controls everything, curtains, lights, tv (the tv is IN the mirror lol)... it wasn't easy to watch tv when the lights were on, but... you don't go to South Beach to watch tv lol The area: We were right in the heart of South Beach, walking distance from great restaurants, the beach and the parties! The sidewalks are under construction so girls fans of high heels: leave them home for now :)

Very cool spot. One of my favorites in South Beach. It's more rock n roll than Miami. Never seen the rooms only partied at the bar. Good music and very cool vibe. The place is not huge and can get packed. I would call The Marlin a boutique dive bar. Check it fo sho!

It was my first trip to Miami, wanted to find a cool spot near the beach at a decent price. That is what we got and more from the Marlin. Cannot say enough about the concierge, in particular Alex, who helped plan a completely unplanned weekend. The place is simply amazing. Extremely chic, complete with a TV in the mirror controlled by a supplied iPad. I only wish the bar downstairs was open. It just underwent renovation when we were there. The place looked beautiful. A perfect lounge spot in a perfect location. Only reason I took away a star was because the walls do seem a little thin. Miami is truly a city that never sleeps, and I heard every elevator bing up and down.

Have wanted to stay at the Marlin for a while and boy have I not been disappointed. Fantastic room with every mod con you could ever need, one of those rooms you find it hard to leave even when the sights and sounds of South Beach are beckoning. Super helpful staff and immaculately clean will definitely be back

Nice hotel to stay in a great location. Room was a bit small but cozy and perfectly equipped with even a Nesspreso machine. Loved the "Mistral" toiletries! Try not to get a room on the first floor or you may end up taking your suitcase up a six steps stair.

Hotel- The Marlin Hotel is a true boutique property with only 12 Suites. The 12 Suites are very big for South Beach Standards with the smallest being over 450SF. All of the suites are equipped with stainless steel kitchens, in-room bars, cd players, tv/vcrs and accommodating bathrooms featuring aveda lifestyle products.

The hotel was just as good as the photos and definitely didn't disappoint. Rooms were nicely decorated and bathrooms stylishly updated. That being said they weren't huge but the hotel is a 1930s Art Deco, but I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Breakfast was included, and was just so so but was appreciated. The rates were good. Location was wonderful and appreciated the use of the beach chairs and umbrellas. I'd recommend.

I really liked it!!!! Everything was clean!! And nice accommodations Im coming back for sure !!!
