What an awesome little gem in the middle of Maryland! This souvenir shop has such a pleasant atmosphere and small country town feel. It is an old church from the 1800s. The owners/employees are very nice and helpful. You will not go wrong stopping by and shopping through all of the interesting and fun things to buy. I am so glad I finally took the time to check it out.

I wanted to send my two children, my son who is in the US army and just arrived to his first station in Texas after bootcamp and training school and my daughter who lives in Colorado and just got a new job. I wanted MD themed items and did a google search and found this gem. From the Edgar Allan Poe pin, the Maryland flags, the Old Bay keychain, the camo MD flag koozie to the MD based food items, this store had the perfect combination of food and gifts to make each of them a very personal care package. The items were amazing and the woman working was very helpful and welcoming. I highly recommend stopping in to take a look, you won’t be disappointed!

This was my first visit to the store; I recently moved to Baltimore and wanted to find good representations of Baltimore and Maryland to send a French friend as a gift. The store is attractively laid out, with a wide selection of nice items at varying price points. Moreover, the people working there are very friendly and welcoming, which represents Maryland well. The photo shows the items I purchased to send to my friend.

Super homey, one-of-kind store where you can procure anything Maryland. It is in an old church which just adds to the appeal and uniqueness of this store. Get your Maryland flag gear, crab gear, Maryland themed clothing and just about anything else here. It is a great "destination" experience for anyone within an hour or so. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I placed an order on their website for some Maryland themed goodies to send as a Christmas gift. They have pretty much anything Maryland you can imagine - lots of souvenirs along with food items and handmade goods. So many Old Bay/crab themed things and cute little candles, tea, even JO Spice! Lots of Christmas ornaments, handmade Christmas cards and even full gift baskets for sale. Everything was shipped within 3 days of ordering and packaged nicely. It was sent via Priority Mail so it arrived quickly. It looks like right now they are offering free shipping on orders over $125 for the holidays. I'd love to check out the brick and mortar store one day but this is just great in the meantime over driving two hours!

Yelp
You really have to love Maryland, and maybe crabs and crab knick knacks (I do) to venture up to the Maryland Store from Silver Spring. Husband says we should do more country rides like we used to, so I suggested a trip to the Maryland Store. We took the scenic route, and I must say it was nice and bucolic for a while, though after sometime I did feel like a five year old and wanted to ask "are we there yet?" It's a unique shop that was once a chapel. I think the directions on their web page were off when they said from our direction they would be on the left but they were on the right, but no problem we figured it out. You do have to go up a few steps to enter the shop. And it is all Maryland; crabs, seasonings, snacks, Old Line apparel, and many assorted items. I got a t-shirt, snacks, a leash, condiment servers, a Christmas ornament, and half price Christmas cards. Very much worth the country ride up there. Just down the road from the Christmas Store is a diner called Bullocks. It gets some good reviews, some not so good. It's a diner that's pretty much all about beef, so if that's your thing you could make it a day. Beef and diners aren't for me so we headed south for a different lunch, but enjoyed the Maryland Store!

Yelp
What a unique quaint store in the rolling countryside of central Maryland. And Maryland is the subject, make no mistake, and when you talk about Maryland you've got to talk about Blue Crabs. The JO Crab seasoning for steaming crabs and all the other Crab feast amenities are what brought me to this great little store in the country. I found out about The Maryland Store on line and I couldn't wait to check it out. I'm preparing to steam some crabs this weekend and wanted to ensure I had everything I needed in hand without concern over shipping and delivery schedules when ordering on line. What a great experience. After a long drive out there I had to use the facilities as soon as I arrived, so I inquired. Did I tell you this place is out in the country? Well I was handed a key attached to a crab mallet to the... wait for it... Outhouse. Yes outhouse. The store is in a very old small church building in the country. The outhouse was exceptionally clean, pristine white and very well kept. Not a distasteful experience at all. Well enough about that. I was able to get all my supplies and then some. JO #2 Crab seasoning, JO Soup Mix for Maryland style Crab Soup and Cream of Crab Soup, JO Crab Cake Mix, Brown table paper for eating Crabs, a dozen Crab picking knives, and a recipe book for you guessed it Crab, along with another book on crabbing in Maryland. The store also has all the Maryland themed gifts and nicknacks you could imagine and an Antiques section in the back. Everything the store offers is also offered on line. In the future I will probably go that route. I really enjoyed the drive and the experience of seeing the store though and am very glad I did it. Thanks for reading Frank W.

Yelp
So glad I went. It's a 30-mile drive but worth it. Great customer service, very friendly.

Yelp
I found this place over the holidays on my way up past Westminster to see relatives. We were driving up Rt 32 and saw this old church with open signs out. I was really surprised when we walked in. It's really a neat little place with all kinds of Maryland foods and souvenirs. They even have an antique section in the back. The girl behind the counter said this was the largest Maryland products store anywhere. I don't know if that's the case but they did have lots of Maryland stuff. Anyway we bought some crab salsa, cream of crab soup, and a couple of Maryland mugs. The crab salsa was real real good and the cream of crab was the best I ever had out of a can! I can't wait to go back and try some of the other food stuff. I can't believe my relatives didn't know about this place even thought it's less than 10 miles from them!
