You really have to love Maryland, and maybe crabs and crab knick knacks (I do) to venture up to the Maryland Store from Silver Spring. Husband says we should do more country rides like we used to, so I suggested a trip to the Maryland Store. We took the scenic route, and I must say it was nice and bucolic for a while, though after sometime I did feel like a five year old and wanted to ask "are we there yet?"
It's a unique shop that was once a chapel. I think the directions on their web page were off when they said from our direction they would be on the left but they were on the right, but no problem we figured it out. You do have to go up a few steps to enter the shop. And it is all Maryland; crabs, seasonings, snacks, Old Line apparel, and many assorted items. I got a t-shirt, snacks, a leash, condiment servers, a Christmas ornament, and half price Christmas cards. Very much worth the country ride up there. Just down the road from the Christmas Store is a diner called Bullocks. It gets some good reviews, some not so good. It's a diner that's pretty much all about beef, so if that's your thing you could make it a day. Beef and diners aren't for me so we headed south for a different lunch, but enjoyed the Maryland Store!
