On the Grid : The Masquerade

"This heralded concert and event venue has a tremendously distinct interior space reminiscent of a 15th century medieval dungeon, and that's only a part of the allure. It is entirely its own experience and, as a result, is hands down a can't-miss in the neighborhood. Undoubtedly, you'll almost always see a line forming outside the door for the next amazing band or event." - Steven Johnson Studio

Masquerade is awesome. This 1 venue has 4 individual stages where different shows can be performed all at once. Its super awesome been here several times. With not 1 but 2 parking garages (1 with a bridge connected directly to it) and the other directly across the street. Its such a well laid out venue when youre in there youre in the middle of all the venues at once, and its incredibly laid out with its own food there. Only reason I give 4 stars is because the location of it freaks me out its 1 street off of mlk Blvd and sometimes its a bit sketchy getting to it. I personally dont like driving to it. However when you're there its incredible. Such a cool venue. And its quite efficient getting in, and back out. Its my favorite place to go despite the drive there being a bit sketchy.

The staff was courteous and friendly. The venue had a dark almost sinister atmosphere, not that that was a bad thing. Went there for Blind Guardian a few weeks ago. Great sound and I can see why bands want to come to this historic place. Loved it!

Went here to see the Happy Fits, it’s a super cool venue! Multiple stages, great parking options, multiple areas for food and drink, and ultimately very unique. It can be a bit confusing if you’ve never been, so add an extra couple of minutes to make a wrong turn. Overall loved it can’t wait to come back. The only partial downside I had was the bathrooms. There’s not much signage to find the bathrooms and the bathrooms inside the stage areas are closed off until doors open. Staff is very helpful though so you can figure it out it’s just not blatant where they are.

Drove 5 hrs to ATL to catch Little Brother last tour. Didn't realize I was in for a 5hr experience. I wasn't prepared for the jazz fest level of commitment. But I guess when you retire you show up 2.5hrs late for your 2.5hr show. Showed up at 7, left at 11. Parking was decent, $22, and direct access to the club from the garage. Getting through security was painless even if it was amusement park level lines. Had I known I would've bought more that one PBR which was appropriately cheap at $5. But I wasn't losing my spot close to the stage. At one point they gave out water cause we had been there standing forever. Club wasn't hot even pack. Show was lit, sound and limited visuals were excellent. Best club show I've seen in a few, plus a photo booth! The show was in the 'Heaven' side, didn't hit up any of the other bars/clubs after the show.

The venue was so quaint and the bartender was very kind. The fact that there is a place to get food out in the courtyard. And you can go back inside to the venue after eating is very convenient. Thank you for reading!

We went to a show at the masquerade on Monday 9/15, and it was SO amazing! First off, I want to say ⭐️100⭐️ stars to Everyone working security and the doors at the venues in the Underground. The venue was great, the music was amazing, the food court was perfectly priced (not overpriced) with a great selection of food. But, as someone that likes to go to concerts with my teens and younger relatives that are big into music...EVERY PERSON that worked security and EVERY PERSON that worked those doors all night made us all feel so safe and at ease. Some were young, some were my age; but each and every one of them were polite, vigilant, focused on their job, and helping to make sure the kids had a good time, and felt welcome and safe. For music lovers of your family, this is a great place to bring them where they can get the same gritty-cool feelings we did watching our fave indie bands when we were younger- but SAFER and more inclusive! Amazing job to everyone that works here, whether it's the bar, the merch, the door, the security, or the food. You're the true rockstars!

Great setup. The Masquerade in itself consists of multiple venues within. A stand alone kitchen outside. Bar and plenty of room inside. One of the most nostalgic venues in Atlanta. Look forward to seeing another show here soon.

I saw Benny the Butcher and it was good. Clean Good drinks and nice staff. I can't wait to see Xavier Omar in Dec. I'm going back to this same venue.
