The Mayfair Chippy Knightsbridge - Review - Knightsbridge - London - The Infatuation

"Proving that proximity to the sea is really not a part of their business model, The Mayfair Chippy has a location in Knightsbridge. If the other spot is anything to go by, people will still rush here for chequerboard floors and touristy fun. Expect the seafood platters, fish finger butties, and a slightly updated breakfast menu. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

The cod and prawn toast was amazing! Very flavoursome and really enjoyed the curry sauce. The mushy peas were bland and cold. The loaded truffle chips weren’t anything extraordinary and only subtly truffled. The cod bap was good but would definitely opt for the fish and chips next time or perhaps try the lobster roll as that looks delicious. The service wasn’t the best. No one came to check if the food was alright. The waitress gave us the wrong chip order and when we explained to her she was dismissive and got a colleague to sort it out. It was sorted pretty quickly but the food was a little cold by then. Decor and ambience was nice, feels a little crammed inside however rather clean and has resemblance of inside a ship. No AC which was really inconvenient especially whilst London is currently experiencing warmer weather than usual. I had to use my own handheld fan and this just wasn’t ideal for me or my partner as he was drenched by the time we got out! This really should be sorted out ASAP regardless of the situation as I can’t imagine it’s good for food standards etc. Overall, would say in the top 5 of fish and chips I’ve tried. The chips were a little dry but the fish and sesame prawn toast was really delicious. For that reason, I would return again. Overall: 7.7/10 (taking into consideration other elements mentioned).

So delish! Coming from someone who loves seafood but typically prefers eating lighter, this was definitely an indulgent meal. However, when in London, I had to try British fare. We ordered the fish & chips, calamari, shrimp toast, and scotch eggs. Everything was superb - well seasoned, moist, and amazingly tasty dipping sauces. Yum!

What a lovely place to spend a few afternoon hours. People are super nice, we had fish&chips, some beers and played a nice relaxed game without feeling rushed. Outside you can sit with max 4 people, inside there is room enough for bigger groups. Would definitely recommend.

I had a great experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious, especially the main course which was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing — perfect for a casual dinner. Prices were reasonable for the quality. I’ll definitely come back!

Maggie and the team are doing a fab job. Best fish and chips I’ve had. Loved the sauces, and the sticky toffee pudding was great! Extra points for the gluten free option for my mother.

Tried this fish and chips place hoping for something special, but left disappointed. The chips looked promising but were both hard and soggy - clearly not freshly made. The haddock was a letdown too: the batter kept falling off and was far too greasy. The sauce was average at best, and certainly not worth the steep £25 price tag. Honestly, my local chippy delivers much better quality for just £15. Wouldn’t go back. Service was pretty shit too. Food is only good for Instagram I guess.

Sit at the bar cause it’s quite busy time. Also, it’s my first time in my life for having fish and chips in UK. Nice experience! I ordered haddock fish extra with fries, price is touchable.. and portion is making sense🤍
