The Best Hotels in Dublin, From Literary Grande Dames to Design-Forward Gems | Vogue

"Ideal for 3Arena nights, this Docklands hotel spans two 19th‑century waterfront buildings—a townhouse and a warehouse topped with a steel extension—where industrial bones are softened by color, texture, and a living wall climbing an internal courtyard. The 94 rooms orbit strong food‑and‑drink anchors: Ryleigh’s rooftop steakhouse, Elephant & Castle (a ground‑floor nod to the original warehouse), and The Bottle Boy, an 1860‑era grocer turned pub; mornings start at Dime Coffee Bar with a custom blend. Power Gym brings high‑spec changing rooms, serious equipment, a thermal suite, and a relaxation pool overlooking the courtyard; upgrade to a Townhouse or Warehouse Suite to soak in a copper roll‑top tub set right by the bedside." - Liam Hess, Nicole Kliest

The Mayson Dublin | Best places to stay in Dublin

"Set in a former warehouse in the heart of the Dublin Docklands, The Mayson has the best of both worlds – a building filled with charm and character, and a location right on the banks of the River Liffey. The best rooms make the most of those waterside views, with full-length windows flooding the space with light. Even better are the suites, with giant copper bathtubs that stand right in the window, so you can soak as you people-watch. Throughout the hotel, there’s a buzzy, arty vibe, with plenty of the tech crowd from over the river working over coffee or ending the day with a beer on the rooftop bar. This is one of the few city hotels with a pool, too – it may be teeny, but its position overlooking the inner, plant-filled courtyard gives it a cool Moroccan vibe. " - Nicola Brady

I had the most wonderful stay with my partner here for our anniversary and it wouldn’t have been made so special without the help of Nayla at reception! She helped my partner with everything to suprise me and make it the best few days. The staff in Elephant & Castle and Rayleighs provided us with exceptional service. Amazing staff all around. The food was beautiful, and the hotel has everything you could need. Every time we have stayed here it has been 10/10 we always end up staying an extra day! The rooms are fairly priced and good value. The Mayson has a lovely chill atmosphere, and is in great location, with the Luas just outside. Highly recommend! :)

Stayed here on a concert night as it was advertised well and very close to 3arena.|Paid for the warehouse cosy room and upon arriving we received a free upgrade to a warehouse super room. Not a lot of space in the room, so I hate to think what the size of the cosy room was. No wardrobes, no drawers just a few hangers on a rail on the wall. The lighting in the room was terrible. Very dark even with lights on and the curtain open. Outside sash window was open and made the room extremely noisy as the inner windows were not able to be opened and so couldn't close the outer one. The bed was very uncomfortable and was also two singles pushed together but were not connected and so kept separating during the night. Neither of us slept very well.|There was also a very strong smell in the corridors which I can only assume was that of cannabis. |Very limited menu in the restaurants especially in the bottle boy bar but understood as it was a gig night so we went elsewhere for food. |At 7am, after an already terrible night, we realised there was no power throughout the hotel. Did not understand what had happened until we came downstairs and heard another guest being told about the power. Was never a mention of it to us but we had already decided to check out at that point. When asked at reception how we found our stay, we gave our opinions but they were just dismissed and he carried on just wishing us a good day.|Overall, a very disappointing stay at a hotel that I had very high hopes for especially at a rate of over €220 for one night.

Beautifully decorated boutique hotel with easy access to 3Arena and a short walk/bus trip to the centre. ||The room we stayed had a comfortable bed and was well stocked with toiletries, towels and a hairdryer of the best quality. ||Room could have been improved with some clothes storage and a dressing table but for|One night it was ok. ||Breakfast was an additional cost but well worth it as it was very tasty and the staff were really friendly and attentive. ||The stay went extremely smoothly and the staff were all absolutely amazing. Would recommend a stay but it is expensive for what you get.

Amazing stay at Mayson Hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond. Michael at reception, Dylan Mufasa, and Josie in the bar were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The hotel itself is a standout, with incredible ambience and stylish décor that really sets it apart. Highly recommend!

Trendy and stylish with a modern industrial touch. Rooms are compact but cleverly designed. The rooftop restaurant has excellent views over the docklands. The vibe is youthful and relaxed. Perfect for a weekend stay if you like boutique hotels with character.

We loved our stay! We stayed for a night on our honeymoon. They upgraded our room and gave us 2 glasses of bubbly. The food was amazing. And the atmosphere is insanely cute. Thank you Nayla & Alice for your hospitality and making us feel so welcomed!

Google
Modern hotel with its own quirks. Room was on the small side, but nothing egregious. Would have liked a hair dryer in the room like some other reviews mentioned. Staff were helpful and pleasant, including helping me with some breakfast particularly early. Stayed here as it was easy on/off from the M50 for a night before flying out and I could avoid the hotels near the airport. Found street parking which was free until 7am.

The staff ot reception were lovely during check in. We got to our room, a double and it was very small. It was clean, the shower was lovely too. The lighting was terrible and the only area for sitting was the bed. Or a tiny stool in the corner. There was no wardrobe, drawers or area to store our overnight bags. Only a few coat hooks and 2 trouser/skirt coat hangers! So nowhere to hang a dress or shirt and no chair to put it on instead. We had a bath towel each and 1 hand towel to share which is unusual...usually you'd have 2 towels each. The bathroom was so dark, it was impossible to tell which bottle had which toiletry in it. The shower was lovely, but the water ran down the door and out on to the bathroom floor. And with no space between the loo and sink to stand to dry ourselves, we had to stand outside the bathroom, behind the entrance door. Trying to get ready for a night out was a challenge as the lighting was shocking bad. They did however have a lovely Dyson hairdryer. A real positive is the close proximity to the 3arena, which is why we were there. Only a 5min walk and you're there. Once back in the room though, you have no choice but to leave your clothes on the floor! The bed was comfortable and we slept fine until 5.30 when we were awakened by the sound of a truck reversing! The bed was right up against the window on 1 side, and it was drafty and noisy. Also, if you wanted to use the bathroom once in bed, you have to climb over your partner, as you can't get out your own side. The pocket door is also noisy, meaning if you did climb over them without waking them, the door would definitely do the trick! Breakfast was nice next day, as were the staff. Although not an awful place to stay, you certainly wouldn't stay more than one night in a "double" room. It wasn't comfortable. I recently stayed in a very budget hotel for work, and it had twice the floor space on this room. However, for the ease of going to the 3arena it was perfect.

Yelp
I dined at Ryleigh's Steakhouse located in the Mayson hotel in Dublin, Ireland, and hands down, it was probably the best steak I have ever had in my life. It was my first time trying a tomahawk steak, and it was absolutely incredible. Cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. The service was also excellent. Our server was incredibly sweet and attentive, which made the experience even better. The view was not the greatest since there is a huge skyscraper under construction right next to the restaurant. However, if you are seated in another section, the ambiance is really nice. I also ordered the buttered greens, not knowing exactly what to expect. They turned out to be a mix of snap peas, green beans, and broccoli sautéed with butter, salt, and pepper. Simple and absolutely perfect. The fries were also a hit. Perfectly crispy and seasoned just right. Overall, if you are in Dublin, you have to try this place. It was without a doubt the best meal I have had in Dublin, and I have been there quite a few times.

Yelp
Dined at Ryleigh's Steakhouse rooftop restaurant at the Mayson hotel. The food was spectacular all around and the service was friendly. The menu had well labeled allergens. The honeycomb ice cream sundae was a bit too sweet with the caramel sauce and there wasn't as much of view from the restaurant as the terrace bar had more direct views of the river.

Yelp
This review for Ryleigh's. While I'm sure the hotel is just fine, we didn't stay there, just ate at the rooftop restaurant. Delicious. The service was great and the food was impressive. Started with the bread; which I highly recommend though we had to order it separately. The wife ordered the chicken supreme and was quite pleased. Wonderfully prepared, served on a bed of mashed potatoes with mushrooms. I had the filet which was delicious and I added the creamy spinach as a side which was excellent. Not too overpowering with the creamy aspect, could really get the flavor of the spinach. Daughter for the sirloin with fired mushroom (a must!) with a side of the mashed potatoes and was quite pleased. For drinks we had the Remedy and the wife and daughter each for amaretto sours while I had some Buffalo Trace on the rocks. The view is great but be sure to get a spot in the section that had a clear view. The side view is now obscured by new construction. Highly recommend this place. Desserts were gre

Yelp
WONDERFUL stay at The Mayson on our visit in Dublin. Staff is exceptionally friendly, rooms were clean and comfortable. The Dyson hairdryer was a fantastic amenity. Would HIGHLY recommend.

Yelp
Restaurant is nice and food is good. Limited menu selection. The rooms are way to small. Barely room to walk around the bed. No place to put your luggage? No hooks in the bathroom for towels or clothes. The bathroom door is a sliding pocket door and we could barely get it to slide. Judging from sound coming from the room next door, they were having the same problem. Go to eat but don't stay the night. You would be better off going to the Hilton down the street.

Yelp
I had a very nice stay at the Mayson. The view of the river is pretty! The bed is very comfy. There are 2 restaurants and a pub inside to choose from. I tried both Elephant and Castle & Ryleighs, and can genuinely say both had good food and drinks and the employees made great suggestions: It is a bit far from city center, so bring comfy shoes if you plan to walk. The rooms were nice. Check in was easy. However, a few things: they were not forthcoming with a deposit for the mini bar (not that I care, just would have liked a heads up). They offer a room with breakfast, but unfortunately I was unable to grab breakfast any of the days I was here because it didn't start til after I had left each day - it would have been nice to see the time on their website upon purchase. I had selected early check in when booking I confirmed this on my initial reservation email. A couple weeks before my trip, I got an email telling me to upgrade my stay with early check in. I emailed the hotel who said I did not have that and they set it up. However I got another upgrade email a couple days before and it was not checked - I checked it myself and when I got there I was able to check in early, so not really an inconvenience, just weird. I would also note, growing up in a big city, I didn't think the outside sounds were bad, especially considering it's away from the hustle of the city center, however you can hear some outside noises or the people upstairs.
