Todd and his team serve up some delicious sandwiches full of flavor and they are always extremely friendly and hospitable. Stopped in here after work for a brisket sandwich and a pork belly banh mi. Beautiful shop and plenty of options if you want to take something home and throw some meat on the grill.

Had to try after all the IG reviews and social media. Burger was spot on. Personally will ask for more well done next time. Chicken sandwich was delicious, they use thigh instead of breast. Batter was light and not thick. Fries were seasoned well and wedge cut style 😋 Will definitely return for BBQ items for spring and summer season. Was eyeing those sausages, filled minion and other fine cuts.

A Hidden Gem Worth Discovering! 🥩🍔✨ What a great place to stumble upon — everything on the menu looked so tempting! I finally decided on their delicious hamburger, and it did not disappoint. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I’ll definitely be back — especially to place my Thanksgiving order and explore more of their amazing cuts of meat. A true local find! 👏🍽️

3/5 for the brisket sandwich. I dont wanna be too mean since the people were really nice but the sandwich lacked flavor and it was kinda dry. I wish I could recommend it but I simply cant. Maybe the other items are good though.

Wow. This is a really nice butchery with awesome meats and really friendly staff. Cut me up a perfect 8lb brisket point, flat removed, at $15/lb. As a swede I am more than happy. Also picked a homemade Kansas city BBQ sauce that’s superb and a nice chimichurri. Wish I could bring you guys back home.

Finally stopped in. I made sure to go on after the lunch rush to avoid a crowd. I went the Brisket Sandwich (which I'm glad I did) and the Kimchi Cucumber salad (meh) The Brisket here is on point! Each bite was better then the last, it is a smaller sandwich but it comes stacked with meat and will fill you up. They also hooked me up with a brownie cookie because of the wait (honestly wasn't that long of a wait) I'll definitely be stopping by again

First time visiting this establishment today with my momma! After seeing the most recent episode of “Check Please, Bay Area”, we made the decision to check these guys out!! We had a great time eating lunch and buying some goodies as well! We got sandwiches to go: cheeseburger, fried chicken sandwich, pastrami on rye, and their smoked brisket sandwich! They make everything in house and you can definitely tell that the food is made with TLC! Can’t wait to try their other offerings and possibly buy some steaks!🥩 Just a recommendation with the sandwiches: include extra condiments such as pickles and/or relish/pickled vegetables.

BIG flavor and selection in a compact location! Incredible quantity of meats including an expansive selection of sausages that include game meats like venison and rabbit. Sandwiches have plenty of meat along with their own delicious mixes of chopped produce and savory dressings. We tried the tri-tip. Oh man! Big chunks of tender, smokey meat nailed it! You've gotta try this place!

Whatever Chef Todd Fisher touches turns into an amazing culinary delight. The Meatery in Seaside is no exception. Great selection of meats and other provisions. A great menu to dine in or take out as well. I had the brisket sandwich for lunch along with their amazing potato fries and fermented ketchup. Juicy brisket and it was super delicious. The other offerings on the menu looked very enticing as well.

My wife and I had lunch here at the Meatery this week. We sat at one of there 10 or so tables mixed in with shelves of specialty items. We also took home two jalapeño cheddar sausages and 2lbs of pork belly from their butcher counter. Their counter staff were extremely helpful and friendly. For lunch we ordered the pork belly banh mi and their Italian gumba sub sandwich. Both sandwiches were made with a warm sesame bun which enhanced both normally cold sandwiches. This was a nice touch. I would have preferred the banh mi pork belly to have some sear and caramelization, but it was still flavorful and fresh. The Gumba sandwich had 3 or 4 different Italian salami's with fresh l/t/o veggies. It was a big sandwich. Overall the price of each sandwich seemed fair for the freshness and quality of ingredients. While we were waiting for our sandwiches, we browsed the freezer and refrigerated cases. Their front counter cases have great cuts of beef, pork, chicken, 15-20 different sausages made in house. They also have prepared hot foods from their small hot deli case. If I were single, this would be a 'go to' spot. Along their sidewall cases they have refrigerated pre made food, frozen hard to find raw meat and seafood like scallops, pork belly, and veal shanks. These and other hard to find ingredients are all here in Seaside. For a home chef, this place is a great resource. Prices are on the higher side, but I noticed much of their proteins are locally sourced and available in one small deli/store. I will come back to try the burger or a few of their other sandwiches, and when I need harder to find proteins to cook or grill at home. Monterey County is lucky to have the Meatery.

Stopped by The Meatery Seaside hoping for a carnivore's dream, and... well, it was a bit of a mixed bag. Some of the meat was cooked well and flavorful, but other dishes fell flat and lacked that wow factor I was expecting. ‍ The atmosphere is nice enough, and the staff are friendly, but the overall experience felt a little "meh" compared to other BBQ spots we've tried. Worth checking out if you're in the area.

This place is head and shoulders above just about any other butcher shop or deli I can think of. Highest quality ingredients, and food prepared by artisans who know what the hell they're doing. I have to say that the pastrami Reuben sandwich is absolutely a modern miracle of sandwich engineering. I'm really trying hard to think of having had a better sandwich in my life, and coming up with nothing. If you're thinking of stopping by for lunch, start there, and then work your way through the deli menu, but by all means, do not miss out on the Reuben.

Mouthwatering sandwich items on their deli menu that are unique. All kinds of meats and gourmet food products are available for purchase. They even offer healthy foods for pets! Small seating area but well worth a try!

What a delicious treat! My wife and I saw this shop a week ago from the street and we both wanted to make it back. Stopped in for a late lunch. Service was good, menu was well laid out on the wall with no prices that we saw. Ordered a couple of sandwiches, one calamari and a fried chicken. Quick, order up in ten. My chicken sandwich was good it had a pretty tangy type slaw on it, did I say "tangy." My wife's was better. The first bite of her calamari sandwich was delicious. Perfectly cooked and balanced with the sauce and bread. That's a winner. After lunch , looking around a little they have some pricey wines, house made dog foods, books, hats and of course meats, sausages and Green Egg Smoker's to cook them. Last words...so local, so good.

The best brisket and beef ribs are the best in the county, and there's no one else even close to what they offer. The service is great, pickles, bbq sauce, and the pickled onions all complement the food so well.

Had lunch here with the wife as I have seen it mentioned in quite a few reviews. We parked in the dirt lot next door which is okay to park per the staff as I didn't want to be towed or get a ticket. Service was fast and promo a lot of unusual flavors to choose from, so if you are feeling adventurous then this is a good spot. A little on the pricier side of things, so be ready to part with some $20s. Our sandwiches were good I say. They also have green egg merchandise for sale.

Saw "The Meatery" on the PBS show called "Check Please" and I had to go there the next time I was in Seaside, CA. Well, I'm here! The Meatery opened 4 years ago. It is a deli with special sandwiches, bbq shop with meats smoked in a Green Egg Smoker, a butcher shop with lots of prime cuts of meat and in-house made sausages, and pre-made foods in the cold cases, like shrimp gumbo, that you can bring home and heat up They also sell beverages and cookies. The parking lot is small, so you may have to park in the dirt lot next door. The Meatery is a shop, but they do have indoor tables and chairs to enjoy your food or you can take your foods to go. The place is cozy & clean, the furnishings are made of dark wood, and the room has lots of light from all the windows. I came here on a Saturday at a little after 5pm. Tip #1, The Meatery is closed on Sundays & Mondays, and Tip #2, they stop making sandwiches at 5pm on the dot! So get there early if you want a sandwich! Looks like you can order online too, but I didn't know it at the time. Even though I got there after 5pm, I was still able to get some of their moist and tender smoked brisket, spicy mac & cheese pimento salad, and loaded broccoli salad with bacon bits. That combo was DELICIOUS! Yum!!! Everything is packaged nicely. Also got their popular black garlic sausage & cheesy Jalapeño sausage. Can't wait to grill them up! I will need to go back the next time I'm in town so I can try their sandwiches.

Haven't had one bad thing from here yet, I just wish they were in the Redondo Beach area.

Im not gonna spend to much time explaining the next level of service you get here. I am also not going to spend too much time explaining that the sandwiches are on point and that they put a special twist on each. What I will say is this should be a destination lunch spot. You can Thank me later.

This place is magical for any chef, foodie, or tourist visiting the area looking for some great sandwiches! Chef Todd has a great selection of goodies! Wine, dried pasta, cookbooks, sausages, cuts of meat, hot bar! I can go on and on honestly lol The hot sandwiches change often and I'm always surprised by the creativity and well done classics people love! I ordered a specialty item from him, venison, while waiting for my order I decided to sit and have a snack. I ordered the pate plate with mustard, pickles, salad, with a huge crust of bread. Damn this was good! I'd have it everyday for lunch if I could! The grab and go fridges are stocked with some awesome foods! Prepared dinners, frozen stocks, meats, duck fat, beef tallow, duck, elk, bison! This place is a real gem! And he also does cooking classes! I cannot recommend this place enough! Go check it out it honestly speaks for itself once you enter the doors.

Stopped by on the way to Monterey after reading the great reviews. It was as advertised, great service by knowledgeable and passionate butchers. We got 4 sandwiches- brisket, pork belly bahn mi, cheese steak and a meatball. All were so delicious with a great blend of flavours. Although a small storefront they have so many delicious meats and dishes to choose from with about 5 tables to sit at. Next time I come back I'm bringing a cooler!

Omg this place is amazing! Fabulous food and excellent service & reasonable prices for the high quality. You can get lunch and then get meat and all the sides for dinner in one stop! Very clean and cute restaurant. Must gets: Rueben, meatball sandwich, bang mi, roasted chicken with the green beans and Caesar salad was absolutely exceptional. Also order the Mac and cheese, broccoli salad, Cole slaw, potato salad & cucumber kimchi salad-- all are amazing. Will go back again and again.

Excellent Thanksgiving dinner! Every side dish was delicious and the huge (17 pounder) turkey fed 4 hearty appetites with plenty for platters to take home. Definitely doing it next year.

Amazing 16 hr smoked brisket sandwich today with BBQ sauce and pickled onions. Their sides and specialty foods looked fabulous. The meat cuts and sausages are clearly the finest. Check out the refrigeratated products and splurge on some steaks chops or sausages!

Today I tried the meatball sandwich and it was the best sandwich ever, my husband had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and it was amazing too! The employees were really nice and helpful. We will definitely be back.

Im so sad i didn't stop by sooner I've been missing out on tho most amazing sandwiches. Staff was super nice so attentive and friendly. Im definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu. Love at first bite

5 stars because this is still a great place to buy top quality meats and the service staff is mostly friendly . Just don't let them cook it for you. Brisket sandwich might have been ok but it was served cold and so little meat it was closer to a slider than a sandwich. Mac and cheese was mediocre at best and also came out room temperature. Potato wedges had enough seasoning for 50 orders, completely absurd and unnecessary. Also the seasoning had loads of sugar in it which was strange. Fried chicken sandwich was probably the best item we had it did come nice and hot but way too oily and also overly sweet. The mayonnaise goop didn't add any value to the sandwich either. El Pollo Rey around the corner is the best restaurant in Seaside and you'll spend less than half the money and actually leave full.

We bought the Prime Ribeye Steak with 28 day age great marbling and very tasty but I tried your sausages which didn't have enough fat in for me and the maple sausage had no maple taste at all We were waited on by the owner's daughter had a great personality

Had lunch there today. Awesome sandwich selection, mouth watering butcher counter. The food was delish, the service superb. Plenty of options to warrant a return.

Although expensive, but what isn't these days the ribeye bone in steak is one of the best pieces of beef I have ever eaten! Worth the price.... I have never had a piece of beef in any restaurant as good as this..

We tried The Meatery based on reviews from Check Please Bay Area. We had their Pastrami sandwich, the Brisket sandwich and their Calamari sandwich. We dined in and everything was mouthwateringly delicious, so much so that we ordered 2 lbs. of the brisket to go. We were somewhat disappointed in the 2 lbs. of brisket because it looked extremely fatty. After trimming away some, but definitely not all of the fat, we realized we paid for about 5 ounces of pure fat.

Listen.. I have never submitted a review SO QUICKLY for something I've eaten. I popped in about an hour and something ago off the suggestion of a few locals from an earlier cafe visit. The menu is modest, it's got about 10 or so items, I'm sure they change it up with specials, etc. I let the man know that I'm in town visiting from a few hours south and had a hard time deciding bc it all sounded GOOD. Now, I think this is the greed they talk about in the Bible because I ordered two sandwiches. I just had to try more than one. First off, clean space, enough seating for patrons, and I'm sure the butcher meat to go is quality. The people working here are incredibly kind and have great energy -- I didn't feel rushed at all as I stared at the menu tryna decide. I chose the turkey, and brisket, with a side of some kind of snow pea salad (it changed my life). You'll want to aim for the other heavier sides but don't sleep on the pea salad! It's absolutely incredible.

Best quality and selection of meat! Great service! If we didn't live out of the area we would be here weekly to purchase meat for our home.

What a treat to eat this delicious meat. Visiting my daughter at CSUMB and took her to get lunch at the meatery all I can say is pictures and reviews did not do this place justice. Parking lot was a little tight to get in but the dirt lot next to the building was more than accommodating. Inside the combination butcher shop restaurant was on full display with a deli counter and fridge full of pre-cut meats, meatballs etc. My daughter got the burger and typical college student it was devoured instantly. My wife got the brisket sandwich that was amazing. I was unable to decide between the cali cheesesteak and meatball sandwich, the man behind the counter recommended the meatball sandwich, so I got both to try. The meatball sandwich was one of the best I've ever had. Handmade meatballs perfectly balanced with the right amount of cheese and sauce and then lightly toasted. I cannot express how good this was, it was so good I ate the entire thing and will have to save the cheesesteak to review later. I also got a carrot cake that was probably the best I've ever had. Carrot cakes can tend to be dry but this one was moist and delicious, I let my wife and daughter try a bite and the ate the entire thing so before I drove away I had to go get another piece for myself The man at the counter was so nice and helpful he gave me the carrot cake for free and wished my daughter the best in her upcoming waterpolo season Overall a great experience and wonderful find in Monterey. Cannot wait to come back and try some other menu item

Yum! My husband and I are from the area and come down a few times a year to visit. We like to try different places each time, and since we've never been to The Meatery we decided to give it a go. I'm so glad we did! My husband ordered the Cali-Cheesesteak and I ordered The Turkey. Both sandwiches were absolutely delicious and different than any other sandwich we've ever had. My husband thought the tritip in his sandwich was tender and beautifully seasoned. My turkey was the standout. You think there's no way green beans work on a sandwich, but they do. The flavors melded together nicely, the turkey was moist and perfectly fried, and the cranberry sauce wasn't too sweet. The potato wedges were a miss for us. The seasoning on them was quite sweet which we didn't enjoy. That's just personal preference, though. Highly recommend.

I was very disappointed in my first and only visit to The Meatery. I bought a $31 tenderloin and planned to eat it that evening (about 2 hours after buying it). When I unwrapped it, it had large black sections and spelled rotten. I have since written 2 emails with no reply & called multiple times with no answer & no way to leave a message. Not good. I can only hope this was some sort of anomaly with the meat but the inability to answer an email or have VM is really lacking for customer service.

When in Monterey, I highly recommend The Meatery. Little on the expensive side but the food was plentiful and delicious. Service was deli style, but the guys behind the counter were so helpful. Ambiance was cozy and casual.

We were going to the nail place next-door, and we smelled something delicious coming from next-door at the Meatery so we decided to stop in and just take a look. We had just ate. I wanna make that known, but we still got a pound of brisket and mac & cheese, and then more pickles to go. That's how beautiful and wonderful the food smelled. The taste was as amazing as it looked. The brisket was fork tender and outside had that perfect satisfying slight crunch. The brisket came with a housemade barbecue sauce that was perfect with the pickles and pickled onions. The mac & cheese was OK. When I come back (and we will come back!), it will be to get some fresh meats to take home, try a sandwich off of their menu. And definitely get more brisket! Great staff. Very nice. Seating for inside eating. It's a very small parking lot, but there's some side parking in the dirt. I can't wait to go back!

Had the brisket sandwich, it was great! Will be returning again soon. Plan to make use of the butcher shop as well.

I ordered the Ruben. Very friend staff up front. Place is in great location, chill vibe with the beach less than a mile away. It's a damn good sandwich . Con's: I was the only customer in at the time and it was a wait for just a sandwich. It's a bit pricey; I paid right under $20 thinking it came w fries but I was eating.

I can't remember ever eating a better burger in my life. I told the owner to help me as I am unable to eat anything with black pepper or chili. He was thoughtful and recommended the burger and I am so glad that he did. I had to go Wash my hands and face after eating that juicy burger. Two napkins weren't enough. My daughter said she would've liked to have had a little less salt on her burger. OK next time tell them to make it light on the salt. My wife said I wish it had been cooked a little bit more. OK next time tell them to make it Well , or extra well done! The point is, they were very accommodating and took the time to listen to me and make that wonderful burger. I also asked the owner about the sausages and if they had any sausages that did not have any black pepper or chili. He said wait for me here and I'm going to check on the recipes. He came back and said I have one for you. Afterwards he asked if there was anything else he could do to help us and we said no thank you. The very next customer he said thank you for your patience, and how can I help you? (this was great customer service.) This was our first time eating here. It certainly won't be the last. We were on a shopping trip from Salina's. I would drive over here for that burger and skip the shopping next time.

When I went, I was told by staff that they were too busy to make most of the items on their menu, so the menu selection was really limited. I ended up having the brisket sandwich. It was good as long as the brisket was covered in their BBQ sauce. The parts of the sandwich that were missing the BBQ sauce were super dry and bland. The BBQ sauce definitely made the sandwich. They're also a bit pricy. The small brisket sandwich had a small amount of brisket on a small bun. It was just OK.

Everything is premium in quality and unique in flavor. No better BBQ and sides in the County. It's my go to.

As people have noted, very delicious great food, creative new combinations. We split the Callie cheesecake and brought home a bunch of house made sausages. We will be back. Nice intimate environment, very busy on a Saturday afternoon.

Today I got the meatball sub. It's been quite a while since I've gotten one. Seemed like the bread was a little different, or maybe the cut? And would have liked more marinara. However, it was delicious! The recipe has such a great combination of flavors with the tender meatballs, mozzarella, sauce, and aioli. I also bought a couple of breakfast sausages and some chips. I've had the paprika chips before and they are thin and crisp. Really good! So I got those and I'm trying the Iberico ham ones and the truffle ones too. Their sandwich menu is larger and tempting. The cases of sausages and meats also looks great!

I've had some pretty good sandwiches here. Whether or not they actually have sandwiches on any given day is a bit of a question mark though. Typically they do. So.etimes they don't. I wish there was a better way to determine whether they will be serving sandwiches on any particular day. Otherwise you are stuck with Subway next door. I haven't tried any of their meats but I've heard good things about the Wagu.

This rating is strictly for the customer service. After seeing The Meatery on Check, Please! Bay Area, we went to purchase meat only. We asked some questions re diff items and the man's facial language and RUDE answers were a BIG turn off. Maybe he thought we weren't going to end up buying anything, idk, but I had to walk away and let my husband deal w/ him. We ended up spending 200 bucks, but seriously that is NO way to treat your customers. Thought maybe the guy was having a bad day, but after reading through the reviews I see the same complaints. Improve your customer service. I don't care how much we end up liking what we bought, we won't go back.

I'm a huge fan of Todd Fisher, the famous chef who competed in Hell's kitchen. He's one of the top chefs in Monterey area so when I saw his commercial on Instagram about a brisket sandwich, I had to have it. The brisket is cooked for 18 hours and it was soft and delicious, very well seasoned perfectly balanced. While there we also noticed a beef ribs that is slow cooked. It was served with some homemade pickles and a side of barbecue sauce which also appeared to be homemade. The food was excellent, but the service was a bit slow and the cashier who was delivering the food to our tablewould only bring one fork and knife so I had to go ask for another overall experiences. Excellent I highly recommend this place. The interior is q.v. decorated.

I really enjoyed the steak at this restaurant. It was perfectly cooked, and the flavors were rich and bold. The texture was so tender that it practically melted in my mouth. It was such a satisfying meal.

We visited on Saturday at 5 pm after watching " Check Please". We stepped up to the counter at 5:05 pm. I felt like I was stepping into a Seinfeld series, "no soup for you"! Except this was "no meat for you! " The guy behind the counter was adamant- none of the sandwiches were available- all sold out except brisket! Bummer! It's just slightly after 5, close at 6. Oh! So we got 2 of the brisket sandwiches . It was 3/4 fat and 1/4 brisket.... Yuk! A squirt of bbq sauce, One pickle and a few onion slices.... Tiny bun. Nothing like I saw on the show. And did I say it was 80% fat? Yeah brisket tends to be fatty, but my sandwich was one thick slice overwhelmingly fat! Gross! I had to get a plastic knife to cut it all off! The Mac and cheese, I'm sure it was good but it wasn't even hot! The broccoli salad was good. Bottom line $62 and I gave $8 tip but just as a courtesy as the counter guy just threw our sandwiches together - no love included! And I asked for a receipt and I never got it. Next customer! Oh ... I bought their chicken dog food- the poodles love it. Great for dogs, not people! Otherwise, the Meatery was a big disappointment . If you are open till 6 pm, make enough to last till you lock the door. Otherwise get there early. Maybe you'll have a better experience!

Yes very meaty very delicious very friendly and very quick. I got one of sandwiches and some briskest for home.
