Best breakfast burritos in the state and maybe the country. I always get the Skillet Burrito that comes with sausage, hash browns and a great sauce plus delicious salsa on the side. You can definitely split it unless you’re very hungry or want to save half for later.

This place is awesome! We ordered ahead and it was ready for us when we arrived. We added the chili onto our order when we got there and there was no delay. I'm not a chili person usually but this was delicious. We got the Cubano which came with chips and a pickle. Everything was incredibly flavorful, a definite do-over. My only critiques are that the music did not match the vibe (80s love ballads, meh) and the pickles have a tough exterior which don't go well with the overall sandwich texture. But other than that I was impressed!

I’ve only been during lunch and it’s always busy, for good reason. I keep going back for the Reuben. It’s packed with pastrami and sauerkraut and never disappoints. The staff is always friendly and helpful. That said, a couple of gripes.. seating can be tough to find during the lunch rush, and the sandwich must be made with a whole lot of love because takes a while to come out. Still, I’m torn between saying it’s worth the wait. Solid spot and a must try if you’re not in a rush. Last thing, check the business hours because it closes pretty early in the day. Don’t ask me how I know. 😞

This review is for Katz Deli in NYC, not The Meating Place. The sandwich makers were very friendly and we enjoyed talking to ours while we waited for our meal. It was fairly busy while we were there but we were able to find a table easily. The sandwich was amazing but the bread didn’t hold up too well as it fell apart before we were able to finish it. Regardless of that I would definitely recommend this restaurant! We picked up a tee shirt on our was out!

If you ask me, sandwiches are the perfect food and they have a great selection to choose from as well as other things. I looked at the menu online before I arrived but found there was more to choose from that wasn't advertised online. Elk is on the menu! And I had a delicious Elk chili when I was there. Can't wait to go back and try more things from their menu!

Burritos should be all day not just breakfast. They're too good to be gate kept. Please change this. Also the salsa is fire 🔥

Defiantly not fast food. The sandwiches are good, but not 30+ minutes wait good. I wouldn’t call this a destination eatery, not something you would want to drive across town for, but if you’re in the area for sure, and if you are making a stop at the meat market which is highly recommended. The wait is a problem… normally I call in my order, but this time when I got there 20 minutes later and my sandwich still wasn’t made, somehow the order ticket just sat on the line, hopefully this won’t be a reoccurring theme. My favorite sandwich here is the rueben, it is one of the best reubens you can get on this side of town. The house made pastrami is a stand out, and the rye bread they use is perfection matched with the saurkraut, swiss, and thousand island dressing. It has that east coast deli taste. My other go to and recommends are the french dip and philly cheese friday special, both have a yummy beefy flavor. However, the BBQ options are not my favorite, the BBQ pulled pork and BBQ brisket sandwiches just don’t cut it, I am not expecting texas que, or caroline pit here, but the smoke flavor is lacking, and the BBQ flavor mainly comes from the sauce. The burgers are standouts here, they grind their own beef, the burgers are juicy and flavorful, and maybe be better choices than some of sandwiches. If you’re in the area, and looking for a hearty lunch, and willingly to wait a bit, give it a try.

OMG...super freaking yummy! I randomly found this spot as it was nearby my hotel that I was staying in Hillsboro. It was about a 5 minute drive. I got the Chorizo Burrito, and it was so delicious! The staff is friendly, and the place looks fun and clean. They provided a container of salsa and gravy plus some package of sour cream with my order. I truly enjoyed my Chorizo Burrito! It was very flavorful, hot, kinda greasy, but just so freaking tasty! I would totally come back here again if I visit Oregon again! :)

This place is about 10 minutes from our house and it's so convenient. We love ordering online and grabbing lunch to-go, which I recommend because it's always packed! Be warned, if you order online plan in advance, it's almost always a 45 minute - 1 hour wait to pick it up. It's not a huge deal, but doesn't work if you are wanting to eat immediately. My daughter and I always split the BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich because it's huge! It's piled high with pulled pork, coleslaw, onion, pickle, BBQ sauce, brioche bun. It also comes with a bag of chips and a pickle, a truly perfect lunch. My husband is a big fan of the Cubano and the Roast Beef. They are both classics and done right. This place is no frills, just good solid food. They also have an amazing butcher shop next door which is worth a stop while you are there!

Was stunned, walked in a few minutes before 3:00 there was someone in Line so I went to use the facility. 2 minutes after 3:00 I walked up to the register and was told they are closed, they close at 3:00. Absolutely stunned that 2 minutes after 3:00 for ordering a sandwich to go is beyond their scope of customer service. Even explained we drove from out of town 45 minutes. You all can do Better than that!!!

If the droll emoji were a place, it would be this cafe. The French dip is amazing. The au jus is tasty, and the onion, meat, cheese combo is decadent. Staff is always friendly. This place is always hopping. It can be a longer wait if you don't order ahead, but they are cranking out orders. Sometimes hard to find a seat given it's popularity. Don't miss out on walking across the parking lot to their deli/store too.

Came here on a Thursday afternoon after having driven past it so often. The store definitely felt like it was a classic deli with a menu that had specials everyday! I decided to go with their Thursday special, unfortunately for me, the sandwich came too dry and was just not the best. It was large and filling but as I noted before, way too dry. The service was great though and the loud speaker announcing order numbers made it easy to tell when to pick up your order no matter where you were! I would definitely come back again and try a different sandwich!

This Beaverton butcher and cafe had really good quality meat. I ate nearly an entire burger and it had no gristle in it. Score! My partner ordered a Philly and it came with a dippable side of white queso. The staff was friendly, there are plenty of seating options inside and outside, and it stayed busy so you know it's a great option! I gave 4/5 because the burger was a bit messy and falls apart as you're eating it, but the flavor is 5/5.

I have no idea what the rest of the menu tastes like, since we always come for the breakfast burritos. Seating also appears to be adequate, but then again we always just pick-up our food. Service is decently quick. With that said, they have the best breakfast burritos in town. Great flavor. Awesome value. It is dangerous for both our wallets and waistlines that we live only a few minutes away. Thank you Meating place for allowing us to enjoy these hearty treats.

Everything here is WONDERFUL! The smell of smoked meat permeates the air and I seem to gain weight just standing outside.

Finally got the chance to come here and the vibe, the service, and of course the food were all top notch! Plenty of parking in the parking lot between the cafe and the butcher shop. They do have online ordering if you want to order ahead because they do get busy during lunch time! I appreciated wait time transparency when ordering and overall enjoyed the humor of all the signage as well. There were plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options. You order at the counter, pay, and wait for your number to get called. Easy peasy. I had the get the Reuben sandwich because I've heard great things and it exceeded my expectations! The bread was soft and got that classic marbled rye taste, melted cheese, generous amount of corned beef and sauerkraut. It came with a bag of chips and a pickle spear. My friend got the Barnyard Burger and it was very delicious as well. Come get your grub on and support this local business! I'll be sure to check out the butcher shop next time!

Some customers & I had lunch today at The Meating Place cafe, great experience. Everyone enjoyed their sandwiches and I can't wait to come back to try something else. Even during the busy lunch rush we found a table. Remember, great food was worth a few minutes wait.

I had a turkey bacon avocado sandwich. It was pretty good. Not life changing but good. Busy place. I hope to try some of the other items to see if I get some "wow" factor. *update*** I got food poisoning from the turkey sandwich... the only thing I can think of is cross contamination. I hope they read this and improve cleanliness processes.

Finally got to try after years on the list. Very friendly service is the first thing you notice. The fresh off the grill Cubano was delicious, one of the better I've had. Enjoyed the sweet BBQ beans that had just the right amount of meat, but was luke-warm on the Gouda Mac. Order to execution during the non-peak period took a long time though. I wish I lived closer so I could work the menu. Prices seem in-line.

Glad there is a cafe here! We frequent the butcher shop a lot and it's nice to have them both here.

The Original and Chorizo are my favs. Both come out hot with a packet of sour cream and a side of homemade salsa. I was looking around and most people were ordering sandwiches. Service seemed prompt and orderly. The ambiance looked clean, simple and nothing fancy. The cafe is separate from the butcher shop. We accidentally parked and walked into the store where they sold all the fresh meats. Which was nice to stop by while waiting for your food (we had a 30 min wait time).

Burgers are great flavor. We had to wait 30 minutes because the restaurant was very busy and orders were stacked. Cashiers were friendly and efficient. Every table was taken. The wait is worth it for the good food.

The meat is all fantastic! Service great! Looks like an old fashioned butcher place. They will cut your meat anyway you want it. They help you decide how much you need. Great place. We go weekly!

Love this place! Really great sandwiches and clam chowder soup. They have many options of sandwiches and burgers to choose from. It's a bit of a wait to receive your food and that's because it will be coming out fresh. If you're in the mood for a sandwich you must try. Also sandwiches come in half a or whole.

Expertly carved meats and sandwiches with friendly faces. Will stop by most anytime I'm in the area.

Great food and friendly employees. Good for either take out to dine in fast service. Don't forget to stop next door at the deli.

Quick tip: the website is NOT updated. They stop serving burritos at 12pm weekends and 11am weekdays :( honestly disappointed.

the best sandwich place in the area!!! this is def the place to try something new, because it'll suprise you in a really good way. if you love flavor/different meats, go out of your way to try this place. might be a bit pricey, but you'll get a good chunk of food!

Thanks to Yelp & my mom's wanting a ham and cheese sandwich, we discovered the fabulous Meating Place Cafe! Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch - Mom's ham & cheese was just as she had hoped, and the patty melt was just as delicious We also ordered a side of the Gouda Mac salad that exceeded our expectations- bites of Gouda cheese, ham and black olives all in a slightly spicy dressing- you'll want to try this for sure! On top of all that, the customer service is fantastic plus they've got both indoor and outdoor seating. Loved the decor as it feels super homey & fun too! Recommend highly!!

This is my go-to sandwich place in Hillsboro! As the name implies, it's all about the meat. Whenever my husband and I are craving a solid, good quality, fresh, hearty sandwich, this place is our first choice. I actually can't believe that I hadn't written a review until now. But I guess it's because we always place an order for pickup to enjoy at home. So I can't really speak to the ambience, but I can say that the service and quality of the food is consistently excellent because we continue to return, time after time. My go to order is the BLTA on sourdough. It's the perfect sandwich - crispy, salty bacon, with fresh lettuce, tomato and avocado on perfectly toasted and buttery sourdough. The flavors and textures and ratio of meat to produce, combine creating a perfectly balanced sandwich that can be eaten for breakfast, lunch or dinner. While it's a simple sandwich, I believe you can tell the quality of a place by their ability to do the simple things right. And they get it right! The sandwiches come with a bag of chips and a fresh pickle which are they perfect companions. Honestly, as I'm writing this I'm thinking about when to order next! I also love their macaroni and potato salads which are so hearty and flavor packed. Once again these are also all about the meat! The Gouda Mac salad has bacon, ham, black olive, roasted red bell pepper, onion, & macaroni and it's SO good, it's a meal on its own. The potato salad has russet potato, bacon, egg, celery, onion, pickle, mayo, mustard. Whatever you decide to order, you really can't go wrong. The only mistake you could make is not ordering at all. Stopped by "The Meating Place" as i'd seen some great reviews on Instagram. The place is quite adorable. There's two separate buildings, one in which you can explore for your butchering needs and the other houses the cafe. I ordered the original breakfast burrito. It was massive and certainly enough food to fill up 2 individuals. The serving sizes are great, especially given the price as you're certainly going to be spending over $10 easily. Team members were kind and helpful when needing support in ordering. While the food is yummy, I simply find it difficult to travel 20-30 minutes for a delicious option, however, I just might given the deliciousness presented here!

We've been here several times when we are in that area of town. You order at the counter and get a number. The food is always fresh and good making it worth the wait, This visit I had the corn chowder and a cup of the Gouda Mac Salad. The chowder was great! Ful. Of fresh corn, perfectly cook potatoes and bits of bacon. The Mac salad not such a hit. The pasta was undercooked and it just wasn't my favorite flavor (couldn't quite place the seasonings). We also had their Ruben which is a must when going! They have indoor and outdoor seating. They have heavy plastic shielding you outside from the wind.

Good food, place your order at the counter, they deliver it. Mostly sandwiches but other items. Service was good. Ambiance is plain, and functional..For what it is I give Four Stars.

We attempted to stop by on. Monday and they were closed , I have been trying to check this place out for months. This weekend I was able to stop by. The menu is easy and basic, burgers, sandwiches and sides. I had the Meating right chuck burger. It was loaded with veggies and your usual trimmings, if you like mustard it was covered, which I was very happy about. You can select a side, I chose the potato sales, what a great choice, it was very tasty. You can pick up packets of ketchup, mayo and other sauces. You will get an order number that they call you, you will need to pick it up. The orders take about 20 min to come out but we'll worth the wait. My son had the Reuben, as you can see from the picture it was loaded. The inside is small and casual. Very self serve vibes. The employees were very nice and friendly. I am glad that I was able to experience this place, I would highly recommend it.

Great BLTA and best pork breakfast burrito! Full of meat and great tasting. Great order ahead but really busy spot!

Stopped in here on our way home and glad we did. The French dip was seasoned wonderfully and the au jus had its own bite to complement the sandwich. My wife's BLTA was a big sandwich for only being a half order but I was told by my wife that we would be stopping by here again on our way into Hillsboro from Longview. Great place!

Awesome sandwiches!!! I don't have anything negative to say about this place. My husband and I shared the turkey bacon avocado sandwich and the Reuben. The turkey bacon avocado sandwich is more of a cold sandwich and was so fresh tasting! The Reuben was a lot more savory. The mustard was quite strong to the point where I could almost feel it while taking a bite. I will definitely be coming back to try their other sandwiches. I love that they do whole or half orders!

It's been a while since I came back here. They have expanded to have a separate dining area and shopping area. The place has more tables to sit and enjoy your meal. It is counter service - order and then go find a place to sit. I ordered the reuben sandwich and a side of the gouda mac salad. The reuben sandwich was amazing, one of the best I've had. The quality of meat went well with the sauerkraut and bread. Every bite was enjoyed. The gouda mac salad is something new to me and definitely worth trying.

Service was not the best to be honest Cashier couldn't even smile. Wouldn't recommend the breakfast burrito they were plain and bland. I got the BBQ sandwich that was good. I'll have to come back and try the other sandwiches.

Fantastic pepperoni sticks at the butcher shop. Also got some oxtails. Very delicious!

Visited for lunch today, Sunday, and they were packed. We ordered two 1/2 sandwiches: a chicken, bacon, avocado and a blta. The sandwiches were fabulous. I liked the chicken better than the Turkey on the bacon & avocado sandwich, so I'm glad Turkey wasn't available right now! Their spicy aioli is simply perfect, just the right amount of heat for me. Hubby loved his blta too. Definitely can't argue with a 5 star on our food. The music choice for lunch today was a bit odd to us, pretty hard metal for the Sunday lunch crowd you'd think. But, whatever it takes to pump out the stellar food I suppose. ;)

My favorite thing to get is the chorizo breakfast burrito. It is packed with flavor and a side of gravy. Sooo good. I huge burrito but I'm a girl with a hearty appetite. Staff is always kind. Wait can be a little long during busy hours but worth it. The butcher shop also has great selection of meat. You can definitely taste the difference from store bought meat

Big ol' thicc boi sandwiches, Bacon for dayzz! Unhinge your jaw for the first bite. They smoke and preserve their own meats. From their own farm. Don't sleep on the breakfast sandwiches either. Bacon AND sausage for the win! Love bringing all my coworkers here:) you guys do the best to make sure the service is quick and with a smile. Don't forget to skip across the parking lot to grab some bacon and a steak for the house!

Sandwiches were very good. We also went into the butcher shop and purchased some different meats, deli meat and pepperoni. All were really good

Most wonderful breakfast burritos! The barbecue shredded beef is my favorite! The sauce with it is amazing. It definitely is too big for one person. Jeanne

This is a due an update since the cafe is now in it's owned deserved separate building. So let's talk about the food. As is the butcher shop, AMAZING. First off, unless you are so hungry you could eat a horse order a half. The sandwiches are so good. My favorite is the Turkey, Bacon & avocado sans tomato. The chipotle mayo is a *chefs kiss*. The elk chili is a standard order but I LOVE their weekly soups. I've yet to have a bad one except when they run out Wait times can be long but they'll warn you in advance.

The Service was HORRIBLE! The Cashier was rude, inpatient, curt and condescending. Our Food took an exuberant amount of time. When I went up to ask how much longer I was told "When it's ready"! When it was finally done, I asked for some To Go boxes as we didn't expect it to be that long of a wait. I was then told "Was it ordered as a Take out". I said no. But we needed to go at that point. Then I got back outside and realized they didn't put the chips nor the Gouda Mac Salad in the bag. I went back. The chips were on the counter in a tray, so I grabbed the chips. She yelled at me in front of everyone in the lobby. She snatched my bag and took the chips out. I then said this was the worst customer service I had ever seen and we wouldn't ever come back. As I was getting into my vehicle the cashier came up behind me and pushed me then got in my face wanting my bag of food. I told her more than 4 times to get out of my face. She said she was going to call the police. I said PLEASE DO. THEN... my son and grandson were getting in on the passenger side of the vehicle,THE MANAGER stood in the way of my son getting in the vehicle and yelled at him and accosted him with the door. Then punched the door and told us to never come back. WHO in the Hell would ever want to. A police report has been made since 2 employees went out of their establishment and accosted us at our vehicle trying to leave. This is the ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER SEEN. 1 OUT OF 100 NEVER GO!

If you want a delicious and hearty and filling meal, come here! Husband and I came on a slow Sunday morning bright and early and had the place to ourselves for an hour. Free coffee Refills, and the breakfast burritos were large, hot and legit! The meat is fresh and local since they own the butcher shop next door. I got the burrito with corned beef hash and husband got the pulled pork one. Both were loaded with fresh eggs and they gave you a serving of their homemade salsa... that salsa had roasted peppers and were amazing! Only was able to eat half the burrito! Definitely worth the drive out there. Drop by the butcher shop next door and bring home some meat.

Stopped by The Meating Place Cafe for some sandwiches while visiting the butcher, their sister shop, the Meating Place, next door, and they were a hit. The Reuben sandwich really stood out - perfectly made with a great flavor combo that hit the spot. Just the right amount of what seemed to be house made sauerkraut. The roast beef on honey wheat, bread recommended by the cashier, was also top-notch, with just the right mix of savory and sweet. Grabbing these sandwiches to-go was quick and easy, making our visit to the butcher even more efficient. If you're in the area, definitely give these guys a try for some solid sandwich options! We were told the breakfast burritos are fantastic here, and huge. Will be back to try them!

I can see why this place is so busy! Cute little place with small town vibe. Friendly service. Great food. I'm not huge on Mac salad but the Gouda Mac salad was calling me and it did not disappoint! I'd for sure get it again

Absolutely 5 star food. It's kinda a serve yourself place, you walk up to the counter, place your order, find a table which could be difficult when they are busy and wait for them to call your number on the receipt. Go get your tray and that's when the wait becomes worth it! If you're looking for a quiet date lunch this probably isn't what you want... which is too bad cuz the food is that great. Again bare bones type service with 5 star food. Once you've experienced it you'll be back for more!
