The setting is lovely and the service was good. It was especially nice to be welcomed by some Maltese staff. Unfortunately, the food itself fell far short of expectations, especially for a restaurant that aims to offer a Maltese culinary experience.
We ordered the Kisra Ħobż, which by name should imply at least some local Maltese bread, yet the platter didn’t include any. We actually had to ask for it separately. The platter itself was mediocre and felt incomplete, missing some quintessential Maltese nibbles that really define this type of dish. It would have been great to see something as simple and traditional as kunserva on fresh slices of Maltese bread, but this was noticeably absent. Several items on the platter also tasted like they were straight out of a jar, which was disappointing.
We also tried the Ġbejna Ravioli, which unfortunately lacked flavour and didn’t deliver the richness or freshness you’d expect from such a classic dish. Overall, the meal was unsatisfactory and didn’t capture the authentic Maltese experience we were hoping for.
Beautiful ambiance and good service but the food needs significant improvement to match the concept and the atmosphere.
