Where to Stay in London When You Visit (Updated 2025)

"This midrange hotel makes excellent use of small rooms — the beds are superb, blackout curtains work well, showers have strong pressure, and the hotel serves a nice afternoon tea." - Matthew Kepnes

The hotel looks to have been recently renovated, so decor was lovely and to a very good standard. The staff were all lovely, I left my purse in the room and they rang within an hour to let us know. The rooms and the bathrooms are a little small but when we visit London we don’t spend a lot of time in the room. The rooms had everything you need and the bed and pillows were good. I know it’s a bit random comment but the bath towels were a good size, so often you stay in hotels and the towels are on the small size.

Great location close to lots of public transport options. Staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Room we had (205) was small, but clean with good facilities such as coffee machine, easy to use safe, decent TV and a very effective air con unit. Bed very comfortable and although facing the street, the noise from outside was hardly noticed. Downside is the size of the bathroom - tiny. Although as a couple of modest height we managed, and the shower was decent, the space for the toilet meant you were very close to the hot towel rail. If you are tall (say 6' plus) or of a "fuller figure", it would be a struggle to make the bathroom work. Despite the size of the bathroom we would stay here again for a future trip to London.

This hotel is in a fantastic location for tube/train transport only a few minutes walk. There are some pubs, cafes, eateries etc also in walking distance. The hotel is lovely when you walk in, very clean and welcoming with very friendly front desk staff. We arrived at 2pm and both rooms we booked were ready to check-in. We had requested a twin room for our older children (booked 5 months in advance) but this was not available on check-in, so our 19 year old daughter had to share a tiny double bed with her 12 year old brother for 2 nights which wasn’t ideal. Our room had no window which was a bit of a shock. Overall the rooms were clean but absolutely tiny! Ok for a night or two, certainly would not have wanted to stay in the dark dingy windowless room for any longer!

Fabulous hotel, everything was perfect. Rooms very clean with everything you need. Reception staff friendly, gave lots of information and checking in and out a breeze. Stayed for breakfast which was 10/10 along with brilliant staff making sure everything was okay. Fab location and will definitely return

The location of the hotel was perfect it was in walking distance from Euston Station and close to the tube station. It was a lovely looking hotel from the outside, and inside very clean & bright and the decor was beautiful. Our hotel room was warm, spacious and had a queen sized bed which was lovely & comfortable. There was a large screen tv on the wall, tea tray & kettle, hairdryer, enough wardrobe hanging space and a lovely en-suite bathroom with shower. There were 2 full length mirrors and numerous plugs and USB points around the room. The 2 reception staff Yug & Sabeena were very welcoming, friendly & polite. There was a lot of choice at breakfast and everything was cooked & presented well. I just could have done with the hot breakfast items to be Warmer. Overall a lovely hotel and we would definitely stay here again.

I only stayed here for one evening. It’s a nice room comfortable cool. I like the touch of random books. In fact I started reading one just for the heck of it. One problem is the bathroom was really lacking in maintenance. Crack toilet seat, dangling soap dish and everything metal inside the shower was rusted. It’s on because of the rest of the room was pretty meticulously maintaining Staff is pretty friendly, especially night staff. Daytime they were kind of being a little sneaky. I was thirsty and just wanted some water that they have there in the lobby and they’re trying to insist on sending me water to my room so they could charge me for it.

Have stayed before when it was The Ambassador. Very clean and looks recently refurbished. Excellent location near to Euston station. Rooms were quite small but had everything you needed, although a mini fridge would be nice. Breakfast was very good. Will definitely stay again.

We really cannot fault this hotel! From the moment we checked in and to check out, the staff we polite, friendly, and were helpful with any queries. The hotel is a couple of minutes walk from Euston station making it easy for travelling trips to London. We were very lucky to have an upgrade, and the room was clean, well presented, and very comfy for our stay. The Memoir has to be one of the best stays I have had in London, we'll certainly be using here more!
