The Mercantile

While exploring Cripple Creek, we chanced upon this remarkable Gift Shop. The staff were attentive and affable. She commented, "This store showcases the finest quality clothing, setting it apart from others that compromise on material quality." I purchased a sweatshirt for $55, and its excellence justified the cost, surpassing the quality of similar items I had previously tried. If you're looking for exceptional products, "The Mercantile" is a worthwhile stop.

We were in town to see the Ice Castles and were looking for a food option that would be relatively quick, and we didn't necessarily want to have to go into a casino to get food. My husband loves Mexican food so we decided to give this a try. The loaded nachos were SO GOOD and I was very pleased with this choice (I chose chicken for the protein option). The pico does have quite a bit of fresh jalapeño in it, which tends to hurt my stomach so I picked it out. Just note you might want to ask for easy or no pico if you're sensitive to that like I am. The hubs got the Birria tacos and they were tasty as well, though a few meat chunks were a bit chewy/fatty. But the flavor was fantastic! Note this is take out only with nowhere to sit in The Mercantile. If the Cafe next door isn't super busy, you can grab a table and eat in there. We ate at a little table outside and enjoyed the beautiful sunshine. Overall we would highly recommend and will definitely be repeat customers if we end up in the area again.

One of the best shops I have been in. Many great options to sort through. Shirts, dog collars, candles, mugs, home decor, essential oils, hats, sauces, glassware, and much more.

I bought a few items here and only realized later that they were expired. Pretty disappointing and honestly unacceptable. The store itself is cute, but the issue of selling expired food needs to be fixed.

Let me just say that if you order the loaded nachos you are in for a treat. It's incredibly good and Omar is fantastic!! Kudos, you guys made my day!

This place is absolutely amazing. I don't have anything bad to say about it. The employees are all so kind and welcoming and this burrito is almost the size of my head. For 11 bucks...I feel like I've robbed them. Haha It's very delicious!!!! The churros are really delicious as well. If your diet can include sweets, I recommend. This town is very beautiful.

Great Mexican food in Cripple Creek? I just never saw that coming! We got the pork tacos and were NOT disappointed. The pork was moist and flavorful, not fatty, and had that crispy exterior that only someone without tastebuds wouldn’t enjoy. The portions of black beans and rice were insanely generous and we loved mixing them together to create the perfect amount of flavor and heat. Looking forward to many more Loco food adventures!

This place was recommended by coworkers. All i have to say is Yum! I was able to place my order online for pickup easily. The tacos were amazing! So was the smothered burrito! I'm so excited to go back again! As a local, you've got my business! 😁😁😁😁😁
