The Mermaid Suite Hotel

Browsing through the reviews I was kind of expecting worse than what I faced upon arrival. The guy at the reception was very kind, explained where the room is located, how the key card works etc. The room was quite big, the bed sheets clean, the bed itself is huge for one person. The bathroom was clean and tidy, it also had liquid soap dispensers. The carpet could do with a bit more hoovering, that is the only drawback I can think of. The hotel is at an excellent location, room service came every day to make the bed. Overall my stay was very comfortable, and the price was fair for the services given.

Will definitely come back again! Really nice room and a great location I only spoke to the Man on Reception who checked us in. He was really lovely. I was silly and didn't do my research and didn't realise there was no lifts and my Mum is on Crutches. When he saw her without making a fuss he changed our room to the one right by reception which is easier to get to. He was really sweet about it The room was clean, spacious, comfy beds. Yorkshire Tea bags which was a big yes from my Mum 😂 Round the corner from a bus stop and a short walk to the underground with plenty of shops nearby and restaurants nearby too!

Clean room but basic. Hard pillows. Some street noise. No breakfast, contrary to what Google told me. No lift and the stairs are long and narrow. Excellent location if you want to be in central London. Good value for money. Probably worth paying a bit more.

I thought the location was great. There was nothing to keep drinks cold in the room and no place to do my laundry close by. Not a horrible place to stay but definitely could have been a little better. I would still stay there again though...assuming I found I convenient place to do my laundry. When we got to the place there was no clear entrance and the reception was no reception. It was just a small tiny room with a bunch of bags piled on the side. The service was to be honest bad. If I wouldn’t have paid for it already I would have not came back. One of the rooms didn’t have warm water. On the room we couldn’t flush the toilet as it didn’t work properly. The other room was okay. The only positive thing was the location. I wouldn’t come back here and I wouldn’t advise it to any of my friends, family or colleagues.

Extremely disappointing experience. Staff response was downright rude — as if they didn’t care whether customers stayed or left. The hygiene was appalling: dirty carpets, poor water service, and a generally neglected environment. No one should have to face such conditions, especially when the prices are so high. Absolutely not worth it.

The carpet wasn't the cleanest (there was dust in the corners), but the bed sheets were definitely clean. The room's not huge, but definintely one of the bigger rooms I've had and stayed at in London. You have a hair dryer and get a towel per person. There's no shampoo, shower gel, etc. (-I didn't/don't need it, because I bring my own stuff, but I am simply letting ppl know.) What I love about this place is the area, the fact that there are many shops and restaurants surrounding it, multiple train stations close by and many windows in the room.

Positive: We stayed across the street from the main hotel, request this room for a family the space was huge, well appointed and very comfortable Negative: the inner door did not lock. security was still very good behind 2 locked doors.
