"Picture the wedding reception of someone who would wear a flower crown and no shoes—that’s The Midnight Apothecary. This garden is on top of the Brunel Museum, and could double as a A Midsummer Night’s Dream theatre set. You have to book a time slot and pay for entry in advance, then, on arrival you’re shown to a log or bench that will be your seat for the night. Between the QR codes and strict time limits, some of the magic can be lost. But this is still a lovely date spot—all flaming torches, tasteful draped fairy lights, cocktails garnished with bits from the garden, and fire pits for toasting s’mores. With every ticket you have the option of a Thames Tunnel tour. It’s only 20 minutes and it’s definitely worth doing—the tour guide was in Four Weddings And A Funeral and manages to make the story of this tunnel as thrilling as a Netflix true crime documentary. photo credit: The Midnight Apothecary photo credit: The Midnight Apothecary photo credit: The Midnight Apothecary photo credit: Jack Hobhouse" - Sinéad Cranna

Highly recommend The Midnight Apothecary! I took my partner here for his birthday and we really enjoyed it. The cocktails were brilliant and inventive and made with fresh ingredients from the garden. You can also order British wine from Rathfinny vineyard (near Brighton) or beers. We enjoyed the smores and loved the campfire/hidden garden atmosphere! Will definitely be coming back. Booking recommended as well as the excellent tour (there are 2 per evening so you can choose which time suits you). Food is not served but you can order deliveroo so we ordered Dishoom and enjoyed it alongside our cocktails

Such a great setting for a evening out. The cocktails are amazing and I believe use herbs from the actual garden. It is so much fun to hire a fire pit and make s'mores. A highlight for me was the tour of the tunnel shaft and Tim gave one of the best tours I have ever been on.

A really nice and chilled evening. The cocktails were excellent, the staff friendly, the music chilled, and food very tasty. The marshmallow fire pit was good. Obviously a cool venue in the brunel museum. The weather was good which helped.

London's only camping themed cocktail bar with alfresco seating. Open at certain times of the year. You get your own firepit, which is manned by friendly staff. And s'mores kits to toast your own marshmallows. With vegan options and hot cocktails to keep you warm.

Managed to book this online and was not disappointed. Cocktails were brilliant, fresh and vibrant. There was also food available from the bbq. Both the chicken burger and hot dogs were great. Everything was ordered and paid for from your phone via a QR code which worked well. My only issue is that you could not add a note to food orders via the app. Others were ordering a firepit and marshmallows which looked amazing. Overall a lovely evening and will be back weather permitting!
