The Mighty Axe

We had a great time! They carry optional WATL axes so you can throw a regulation axe. The Danish Ale was excellent! I would avoid the Captain Fatty (cucumber sour)-but you can order one for a friend and have a laugh! only on small lavatory for the whole place , so when it gets busy... The staff was awesome! They were very attentive and to our every need and even offered some coaching in passing. We only had the fries which were delicious because we finished throwing around 8:30-ish and the kitchen had stopped serving.

If you’re looking for a fun date night activity, check out The Mighty Axe in Thousand Oaks🪓 They have reasonable prices and good beers. We have even visited just to play pinball because their machines are great and the staff takes good care of their facilities. Only complaint was the one co-ed bathroom. It had such a big line, I decided to visit the outdoor bathroom provided in the Janss Mall instead. Just don’t visit if you’re wearing open-toed sheos, or they’ll supply some for you to wear that are less than favorable 🤭

Had the most unbelievable experience at the Mighty Axe Thousand Oaks. It was my first time throwing axes and I went with my girlfriend, Angela, and my best friend Greg . We had never thrown axes before and Bree was very helpful, teaching us how to properly throw the ax without hurting anyone. Joey was a silent helper behind the scenes making everything possible. The ambience was a wonderful lumberjack like experience, perfect for ax throwing. My life has changed, for the rest of my life I now have a newfound confidence in my newfound power in ax throwing. Thank you Mighty Axe! I definitely recommend, five stars.

We held our holiday company party at The Mighty Axe, and it was a fantastic experience! The service was outstanding from start to finish. The owner was incredibly attentive, guiding us through the booking process and ensuring we had everything we needed for a successful event. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue or more accommodating team. Highly recommend for any group event!

Had such a great time here celebrating a birthday. Joey and Ryan welcomed and helped our party get checked in and explained the procedures clearly. Some of us were first timers. Our food ordered through Ryan at the bar arrived within 25 minutes as promised. We ate, drank and threw for two hours. Appreciated the tunes playing as it was diverse. Super fun time. My first time. Just my son and I sharing 2hrs together. Very cool place. Has the feel of "top golf" - centered games around throwing an ax. I've never really thrown the thing before and the simple instructions were clear and helpful. The food.... hard to say. The wings were . . . A texture I've never experienced before. Bone-in, but the meat.... everything was so tender it all ate right off of the bone?? Very strange but good! Just simple bar food as that's all we got. Interesting food setup they have with the neighboring restaurants?? If you're into a bar they have a full so setup.... 8 pinball games - $1 per play which i guess these days is normal.... and other fun bar games all around. $60/individual for 2 hours wasn't half bad! Definitely suggest and likely will be back again. The kid (15yrs) loved it. Only 1 bathroom though.... 😬

My mom and I went to Mighty Axe for her birthday, and we had an amazing time! She was a little nervous since she'd never done anything like axe throwing before, but she wanted to try something new -- and now we can't wait to go back. A huge shoutout to Emma, who made our experience a 1,000 out of 10. She took such great care of us, was incredibly patient and kind, and made my mom feel like an absolute rock star. You could tell she genuinely wanted us to have fun, and we did! Joey, our bartender, was equally awesome. I wasn't sure which beer to get, and he took the time to help me pick the perfect one. We'll definitely be back -- my mom already said she wants to celebrate her birthday at Mighty Axe every year from now on.

Great place for Corporate event. Whole staff is friendly and welcoming. Would do this again - fun for all ages. Jessa was assigned to assist our group. She was thorough with instructions and safety instructions. She was great and there to assist us whenever we needed help (group of 14).

The mighty axe did not dissapoint. As a first time thrower I lucked out with the best teacher! Jessa, who was awesome from the moment we walked in til the moment we left, was the absolute BEST! And after axe throwing we got to play an epic game of jenga. A super fun way to spend a Saturday night!

Did 2 hour of axe throwing and boy were we a little tired the next day. The atmosphere is nice and cozy with cabin/mountain vibes, full bar to order drinks (we had beers). Staff were friendly, attentive and welcoming. If you forget to bring closed to shoes they provide bear paw sandals to wear (loved them). We had the projector screen to adjust your targets, we came to celebrate for a birthday and it was absolutely fun. Would do again, thank you!

Emma was amazing! She explained everything clearly, but with my short attention span I couldn't process it all at once. I reached out to her for and she immediately took the time to help me one on one. And literally on the first try... I got it !!! She's supportive and genuinely cares about making sure you get it. LOVE her! Highly recommend!

Came here with my nephew (10) for his first time axe throwing and we had a blast. Emma and Bri gave great service and gave us pointers throughout our time playing and we enjoyed the whole experience. Pinball machines and games on the tables were a major plus. We'll definitely be back

What a great time! Bri and Joey were super helpful. So many beers on tap and what a fun time!!! They have bar food (tasty) but the beer on tap steals the show. But at the end of the day ax throwing is super fun! Great date night or friends night out. Totally recommend!

Had a great time at The Mighty Axe! Surprisingly fun and the time went really fast. Online booking was easy and we began shortly after our booked time. The staff were helpful and gave us pointers. I will return and looking forward to another great experience!

JT was super cool and nice. Let us sample beer and made great recommendations. 10/10 on bar and beers Bri told us she was new and it definitely showed. Definitely not polished on her people skills. The Axe throwing was super fun. Music was very chill as well. 10/10 on decorations and ambiance.

Axe-pect the best from this venue! Incredible staff and fun around all corners (pinball games were vast and entertaining). The axe throwing itself was exhilarating, but you can also change the game into a zombie target practice among other scenarios instead of just your regular target throwing. Cozy sit down areas, and clean bathrooms.

Came on 11/23/25 to celebrate a friends birthday and honestly we all enjoyed our time here. We definitely want to come back. Bri & Joey were amazing! Definitely made us feel super comfortable and Bri was a great teacher for the axe throwing. Definitely a 10/10 experience

Easy seamless process for checking in and signing waivers. It was a good time. I just don't suggest ordering food there if you are at all particular about food - they didn't get my order correct.

Really great experience! Never done it before but we loved it! Bri was great as an instructor and very encouraging! There are a lot of options for games on the axe board and it was so fun trying different ones. Bri and Dustin made for a great experience and we can't wait to come back! Also, if you forget closed toed shoes, they have bear slippers waiting for you!

Our Axepert Emma and Joey were amazing! Her simple change to the way we throw axes changed my throwing game! Who knew... take one half step back! Their service was so amazing and we will definitely be back!

Had a great time. Good spot for a group of 10 people on 2 lanes side-by-side. Heads up - you keep track of the scores yourself manually. Not a big deal unless you have friends trying to cheat

This was a really fun date with my husband! Super easy to navigate the touch screen menu - and although we didn't get any food or drinks, they looked good from our point of view!! The service was great as well. Make sure you wear closed toe shoes!

Amelia and JT were awesome! Drinks were great! JT did a wonderful job helping us figure out what drinks were the best for those of us who are not big on beer. Amelia is incredible, extremely patient and a great teacher! Some of us were struggling getting the axe to stick in the wood. Amelia coached us on the proper technique and had us sticking 6s in no time!!!

Fantastic fun!! Food is available to order (we had pizza and fries) and it came super fast. The Axe games are really fun! You get an iPad and it allows you to put up different axe games. We loved the zombies one. There are sound effects when you axe them! There is also a game if you're on a date and other fun stuff. The music was fantastic and added to the experience. It's got a cool bar vibe. Jensen at the bar and Our Axe-pert ( can't remember his name) were both great. There were no kiddos while we were there. It's not a place littles would have fun IMO. But older kids 10 and over would have a blast!

For a night of entertainment, this is the place. Good for bday gathering or date night. Decor is cute.

My first time to Mighty Axe was awesome! The ambiance is lively and energetic. The decor is fun and feels woodsy. All of the employees are friendly and helpful. We made reservations ahead of time on their website and it was easy and convenient. There's bar with a wide variety of beers on tap. I love that the beers are all from local breweries. It seems like you can order Pieology and eat it inside Mighty Axe, but don't quote me on that because we didn't eat at Mighty Axe. The axe throwing is a fun activity! An hour is plenty of time for your axe throwing experience. The "axepert" employee will give you a quick tutorial on how to throw the axes, safety, and how to use the iPad. The iPad is a fun way to change the axe throwing game. It gives you a lot of options for boards or other games like tic tac toe to throw your axe at. We had a great time at Mighty Axe!

Stopped in for a quick drink and the bartender was lovely & provided a great recommendation! Didn't try the food but the ambiance seemed super chill and inviting. Would definitely go back if we lived closer!

I don't usually review places like this but I had such a blast that i had to sit down and write something. My group and I went on a Wednesday night around 7PM. The place was pretty empty which makes sense because not a lot of people are out drinking on a Wednesday evening lol We arrived like 5 or so minutes late and they were super understanding and friendly about, I'm assuming because it was empty and they would haven't been so great if it had been packed so plan accordingly. There wasn't a lot of drink options but we got some IPA's and Twisted Teas. The Jell-O shots were definitely my favorite thing there ! They also have some pinball machines there, they're a dollar and they don't have quarters there so I'd take some money on the side. They have multiple game modes for the axe throwing and i felt completely safe the whole time. They do a quick guide on how to do the axe throwing safely and what to do and not do. Overall it was a blast and Matt and Grant were great at keeping us entertained and have a great experience. Definitely a fun thing to plan with a group of friends, date night, or even a night u just wanna throw some axes around :)

Had a great date night at the Mighty Axe. Amelia was so patient and very helpful as it was my first time axe throwing. She walked us through everything & made sure we were safe but having fun. She even gave us an extra 10 minutes to finish our game! The environment was very chill with great music. Joey served great drinks & allowed us to try a couple different flavors to make sure we got the best option for us. Once our time was up, we were able to play fun little games in the lobby. Overall a 10/10. I'll definitely be back soon!

If you are stressed out or just frustrated, this is a good place to go. This is a good stress reliever. It is a good hang out place with friends and laughter will be everywhere. Anyway, you can bring your own food and they have ax for you to borrow. The staff are friendly and I would definitely recommend this place

Joey gave exceptional service at the bar! I could not have asked for a better experience with Amelia making me feel comfortable and teaching me how to throw the axe! By the end of the night I was hitting those targets!!!
