"Whilst the narrow lane getting here can be a challenge, once you arrive it feels like you’ve discovered a tiny utopia. Situated in the most delightful hamlet, this characterful pub fits in perfectly among the bucolic cottages. The concise menu never overcomplicates things, with honest, ingredient-led dishes that are all the more appealing for their simplicity. Fine produce is at the heart of it all, with lamb and beef coming from the owners’ Fowlescombe Farm 10 miles away – and crab from Salcombe just up the road. You can stay the night in one of their two nearby cottages." - Michelin Inspector
Stopped at this beautiful pub during a bike ride. Staff were so accommodating despite having no booking and we sat out the back which felt like a little oasis. Tried multiple things on the menu (wine, seafood cocktail, cheese board) and all delicious. Great place for a drink or lunch!

This is one of our favourite places to go. A beautiful quintessentially English pub by a stream in South Pool. The staff are always charming and offer a very warm welcome. Great food and a great atmosphere. A tucked away gem to enjoy in summer sunshine or winter by the cosy fire.

Amazing spot! Perfect for a nice sunny day. Initially had a booking for a bday dinner but that got canceled due to kitchen issues but the staff was very very understanding and had sent a £50 voucher for later use. Came back later for a Sunday roast and we thoroughly enjoyed it! The live music was a great added touch. And easily the best gravy I’ve ever had!

Went for the ribeye on the bone. At £130 for two to share it should have been exceptional. It was not. No matter how good your beef, if you can’t cook it to perfection (or even medium rare for that matter) then you need to stop charging top dollar and have a rethink about your focus. A restaurant whose signature dish is its beef needs to get it right every time.

Really lovely pub in beautiful Southpool near Kingsbridge.
My husband and I had the roast beef, which was delicious. The beef was cooked perfectly to our liking, and was so tender.
The live music in the front beer garden was starting just as we were leaving.
Highly recommended.

A lovely find on a rainy day. Hidden away in this little village is a very pleasant pub, we pre booked the day before for a Sunday roast for the 2 of us. The staff were so friendly and attentive. The food was delivered quickly and it was well presented
and lovely and hot. The cost was very reasonable and if ever visiting again would certainly re-visit. Thank u team well done.

Found this one by accident a few years ago & been going back ever since. Real quaint pub in a very pretty South Hams village. Small & cosy, veranda at the back with babbling brook running past. On a summers day this place is perfect
