Honestly I'm not usually a fan of mochi donuts. I got a bunch as a gift to someone else, but ended up getting to try most of them. To my surprise, I ended up enjoying all of them and eating way more than I should. The freshness and consistency of the dough was just perfect, and the toppings are good and sweet but not just dumping out sugar to the point where it makes no sense. The guy who worked there was friendly too.

Google
Despite grabbing these right before they closed, the mochi donuts were pretty good! We tried ube, churro, matcha, and coffee. We liked the ube the best. Tbh I couldn’t really taste the matcha, and the coffee was a little too sweet for me, but I really liked the texture of their donuts.

One day I was working with some friends and someone from the place invited us to try the donuts. This was a few days before the place opened and I want to say that the workers are nice, the place is clean and beautiful(perfect for the gram) and the donuts are delicious. I got to try a takoyaki donut but when I came back I didn't find one, I don't know if they are selling them or not. You can taste the quality and flavor in each one and they are chewy as they should be. I recommend this place. I know that they also have some savory snacks so for sure I will be coming back to try more things!

Happened to walk by while on a break and noticed they were doing a soft opening so decided to try em out. Pretty tasty and good flavor variety. Plus they do rice hotdogs?!?! Prices were a little on the high side though. With it being a soft opening and all I just hope they are able to reduce the wait times once they are up and fully running. Demand on this street is there if you can keep it up. I have a feeling I’ll be back anyway when the craving hits and just order and come back after I go grab a coffee.

Google
Great texture and everything tasted very fresh. Got the matcha Oreo, guava with coconut, and ube sugar flavors. The guava was a light flavor but nice flavor, the ube sugar exceeded expectations (I torched it at home and it was delicious and less messy), but the matcha was neither matcha-y nor Oreo-y. Would try the other flavors, happy this is in the neighborhood. $3/donut

I've been wanting to try this place so I finally got a chance to! Came here for a Korean hot dog and got the crispy potato one with half hot dog, half cheese. It came out huge but it was all batter which was disappointing because the meat/cheese to batter ratio was terrible and not balanced. The little potatoes were crispy and good though BUT I wouldn't come back here for the Korean hot dogs (only mochi donuts).

Google
the corn dogs were amazing and the so were the mochi donuts. I think it's awesome that they have both the korean corn dogs and mochi donuts in one place 😎

Google
Showed up for their soft opening today and got three donuts - original, chocolate, and churro. This was my first time trying mochi donuts, and these were great. The people here are pretty cool. Glad to have them in the hood. The matcha was tasty too. (I tried a sample.)

Yelp
The mochi dogs are the best! So yummy and great customer service. I will definitely come back!

Yelp
The Fam and I ordered two dozen mochi donuts from the Mochi Donut Shop in the Outer Sunset via DoorDash for my cousin's surprise birthday party. Because we got them delivered and ordered via DD, we didn't get to choose the flavors. That was fine because they all tasted wonderful. They were an absolute hit! The donuts were super chewy on the inside, with a perfect balance of texture and sweetness. They weren't stale at all, like some of their competitor mochi donut makers we've tried over the years. The Little One liked the pink one, which she called "strawberry." Not entirely sure that's accurate. We tried the mango flavor, and with the dried mango topping, it was a dead giveaway, and nice touch! My aunts even tried to stash some away for late. They're hilarious! By the end of the party, the donuts were completely wiped out. We didn't get to take any home, but honestly, it's just an excuse to come back for more! Based on the yelp photos the shop seems to be partnered with or part of Mochi Nut, Orbit coffee, and they seem to serve Korean style corn dogs. Not sure what their exact relation is. Regardless, more reasons to go back to try more of their selection and find out. Also, shameless plug: my photo is the featured photo as of November 2024. W00t!

Yelp
Super sweet. The dough is really greasy, not sure if the mochi donuts were old and stale because they were falling apart when I picked them up to eat. Not the best I've tried but not horrible just wish they were more fresh

Yelp
mochi doughnut shop on Irving Street is a cute cozy bakery, serving coffee tea Matcha and mochi donuts. The service was alright. The grub home counter was in particularly family rather seemed a little bit standoffish in a way maybe passive aggressive but the donuts were honestly kind of bland. The flavor was there but the donuts were also dry.

Yelp
Their mochi texture was nice and lightly chewy. The sweet level lacked a bit. It wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be. Very presentable, though, if you are looking for a special treat to bring to any occasion.

Yelp
Korean hot dogs and mochi donuts! We had the Korean corndog with potato, and got a three-pack ($10) of the mochi donuts (fruit pebbles, chocolate with sprinkles and strawberry.) Korean corn dogs are typically beef hotdogs (or a mozzarella stick) battered in a yeasted dough or a rice flour batter with additional seasoned toppings. Toppings include: panko, potato, hot cheetos, and ramen. Corn dogs were made to order. There were eight donut flavors, including chocolate, fruit pebbles, funnel cake, strawberry, churro, coffee, and plain. This is fun food! On the plus side, their red boxes for to-go donuts were absolutely adorable. Donuts were made ahead, but are still (relatively) fresh. The shop itself can feel slightly chaotic: limited seating, short-staffed & out of a lot of food items at 11:30 am on a Friday. No utensils, except for spoons and part of the dining space is currently storing boxes.

Yelp
Haven't been here in a while and was in the mood for a mochi donut. The Ube never really hits like Ube...it's good but doesn't take like Ube. The churro one is def cinnamon. The texture of the donut is what I'm after and that doesn't disappoint even thought the flavoring might be off. Also tried the Thai tea...which I remember why I typically don't get their glaze...bc it's tooo sweet. Also tried their half half Korean corndog, half dog and half cheese with the potato covering. That was fire. I'm glad I got half half bc it would've been overwhelming to have one or the other. My gosh...that corndog was delicious!! If I'm ever in a glutinous mood...I'm coming here for that dog. So good!

Yelp
This place has pretty good mochi donuts, but on our most recent visit there were some problems with our Korean hot dog order. We do like the donuts, and each time there's a slightly different selection so there's always a bit of anticipation upon entering. They are pricey though - $3 each the last time we were here, with small discounts with larger orders. These are satisfyingly chewy and sweet, so I can't complain about that. On our most recent visit we were hungry for a late lunch after hiking up in Muir Woods. We placed our order and then waited for what seemed to be an inordinately long time for the food to be ready. When they came out, we couldn't differentiate among them, and asked for assistance from the folks behind counter. Once it was all deciphered, it was clear that they had made a mistake on two of them. When I pointed it out, their initial response was whether we still wanted the hot dogs. Well, um, yes, we would like some hot dogs, but we'd like the ones that we actually want. They seemed to be a little annoyed by this "special request" but did the right thing and remade our order. Of course, this entailed another lengthy wait. But I'll acknowledge that these were pretty tasty hot dogs, and in the end we were happy with our meal. Added bonus about this place: there's a Krispy Krunchy chicken in the same place. I don't think it's affiliated with the Mochi Donut Shop, but is actually part of the seafood store next door. We were able to stave off our hunger pangs with a small chicken dinner as we waited for the hot dogs.

Yelp
The best mochi donut I've tried in SF, especially their matcha mochi donut. The texture is perfect -- super chewy interior and lightly fried exterior.

Yelp
Rock solid chocolate and sprinkle covered mochi donut. Nice and fresh. Delicious. Definitely would come again.

Yelp
This was a good surprise to see this store on Irving street. The Mochi donuts selection were great. I got the banana and it was delicious. I also enjoyed the funnel cake donut and churo donut. I will be back soon for another treat.

Yelp
3.5 stars. This review is for their mochi donuts, service, and insta friendly backdrop. Mochi donuts: They have some interesting flavors (passion fruit), but unfortunately, I just don't think theirs taste as good as the ones I tried from another place. I'm very particular about the texture and mouthfeel of mochi donuts and these don't have that slightly chewy but soft bouncy texture. They seemed a bit denser. Service: Friendly service. Backdrop for photos: They have a very insta friendly backdrop to take some cute photos. 3.5 stars.

Yelp
My favorite place for Korean corn dogs and a top spot for mochi donuts!!! Ambiance: Very cute place with an aesthetic neon sign wall and popular music playing. They have Korean corn dogs, mochi donuts, boba drinks, and a fried chicken place right next to it. Service: I've been here a few times and the service never misses! Everyone I've talked to is so genuinely friendly. The corn dogs take a couple of minutes but the breading is so crisp and hot when you eat it so you know it's freshly made! Food: When I came here yesterday I got the dark chocolate, matcha, and mango donuts. The dark chocolate frosting is delectable and sweet. I like how the frosting is thick but doesn't overpower the donut. I just had the matcha today and it mostly held up. Frosting was good but the dough is a bit moist. I'm assuming because of the mochi texture. I can't wait to try the mango one! For corn dogs, I ordered #5 Potato with half cheese and half hot dog and #9 Hot Cheeto with cheese. These are my go-to. They are quite big so I think you can get full from one but I can never choose just one haha. The Hot Cheeto with cheese is the cheesiest indulgence and I like how the potato pairs with the hot dog. It can be dry so dipping it in ketchup helps. My cousin enjoyed her potato corn dog with hot dog, mochi donuts, and ube boba drink as well. She said her corn dog order would be nice if there was a cheese dipping sauce; maybe something to think about adding to the menu!

Yelp
The mochi doughnuts here looked really good and the shop was so cute! I have to say, though, I didn't taste the doughnuts; we purchased them for a friend to take home to his family! He got a guava, a dark chocolate dipped, and an ube. The young lady at the counter was friendly and efficient. The doughnut shop shares a space with Krispy Krunchy Chicken, so if you want lunch/dinner and dessert, you can do it with a single stop!!

Yelp
Mochi donuts are only okay but highly irritated by the pricing and how person handled lack of change at the festival today. Theresa charges $8.50 for four Ube malasadas and accepts Venmo or cash. Internet was spotty so I couldn't access Venmo and handed her a $10 bill. She then asked if I had change because she didn't have change. I said no and then she proceeded to ask my mom?! Sort of rude, since I'm the one buying... So I told her it's okay. I'll try Venmo again and then she says, "I can give you $1 back if that's ok." I would have rather she charged me $10 than to feel like she's trying to earn an additional $0.50. Either price it so it's whole dollars or have change. Easy.

Yelp
The sign says "The Mochi Donut Shop" but it's called "Mochinut" everywhere else. Go figure. Anyway mochi donuts and I go back a ways when I first stopped at a Mister Donut cafe in the Ginza (review: https://bit.ly/3LW0AKN). This particular kind is called "Pon de Ring", and they were sold everywhere in Japan. Back then, I thought they were overly sweet with various frostings and pretty chewy from the mochi inside. Time has obviously mellowed my taste buds because thanks to places like Mochill Mochi Donut in the Japan Center, I started developing a fondness for them (review: https://bit.ly/3kPCF3V). Now there's another mochi donut shop, this one on Irving past 23rd Ave in the midst of all the mostly Asian eateries in the area. The location made sense because Asians are the ones most drawn to sweetened mochi. Besides, Japanese mochi sweets shops are a dying breed with J-Town's Benkyodo the latest casualty. Donuts are definitely the way to go stateside. They have a pretty standard selection at this shop, and their idea of a deal was three for $9. I was going to buy just one, but I was pushed to get three. I still have the fingerprints on my back. I randomly chose Strawberry, Coconut and Chocolate (photo: https://bit.ly/3KU5SVZ) and devoured them in quick order at their window counter. Good and just 70 calories each if their website is to be believed. DONUTS - 4 stars...good with the flavor differences in their toppings AMBIANCE - 3 stars...just a shop shared with the Krispy Krunchy next door SERVICE - 3 stars...kinda pushy...or I was just weak willed TOTAL - 4 stars...if you need mochi one donut at a time RELATED - Exploring the Sunset? Yelp
The staff here is just okay. They weren't helpful in explaining any of the flavors and they seems to be the sample police when I took a sample even though I bought a doughnut. The churro doughnut was cold and didn't taste fresh and the sample was stale. Definitely will. Ot go back.

Yelp
I was searching high and low for a place to treat some of my coworkers and I wanted something that was new, fun, different. Mochinut seemed to check all the boxes of unique, sweet, savory and of course BOBA. They offer mochi donuts with multiple flavaflavs, korean corn dogs with different flavaflav concoctions and milk teas! Treats indeed! I went ahead and preordered a bunch of goodies through doordash to be delivered to my office in Potrero Hill. A box of variety pack donuts, 6+ corn dogs with potato, ramen and cheeto crust and their milk teas (thai tea, brown sugar, coffee, and the classic milk tea). Despite the long trek from across the city, everything was packaged nicely and arrived unscathed. The boba drinks were sealed in plastic cans, the korean corn dogs were well secured in their box and the mochi donuts weren't squished. I displayed everything appropriately, snapped my photos and my coworkers walked into the room and gazed in awe. Yeeee, it was a success. None of my coworkers had hear of this place and they never really had a korean corn dog before, so I was excited for them to try it out. The hot cheetos corn dog was delicious and satisfying. It was crunchy and well coated in the cheetos dust. It was helllaella bomb y'all. Its a must try. I was able to sample all of the corn dogs and they know who to do it right. Not too much batter and it was cooked on point. My second fave was the potato crust, followed by the ramen dog. I was able to snag the brown sugar boba can and it was delishness. It was milky and brown sugary and the boba balls were on point. My coworker who had the thai tea said it was pretty good and better than boba guys! The mochi donuts were 'aight', not the best I've had and I was sad I couldn't choose the flavaflavs. They put in flavors that I didn't care too much about like strawberry, funnel cake and the cinnamon sugar. The corn dogs went faster than the donuts I'll tell you that! Overall, Mochinut was a winner for my team. They loved the corn dogs and the boba. Some of them even wanted to keep their boba cans because it was new, fun, different. The items were reasonably priced for the city. Corn dogs ranged from $4.5 to 6.5, milk tea $5 including boba and mochi donuts 3pc for $9. My suggestion is that they add in some fruity teas in the future and better mochi donut flavaflavs. I'd definitely come here again, in person. Or maybe to one of their other locations. Hoping they'll expand to Berkeley and Davis in the future.

Yelp
I tried the matcha mochi donut and the ube mochi donut. Both were made fresh and tasted amazing! They were the perfect texture and each flavor was brought out really well. My favorite was the matcha donut. I'll definitely come back here!

Yelp
While introducing the in-laws to the Sunset district for the first time over the weekend, we walked by The Mochi Donut Shop. So we decided to give this place a try for our collective first time. I'm not sure if they just don't stock a lot of options and flavors in general, or if we just came during a busy time and they were mostly tapped out, but there was only less than a handful of mochi donut flavors to choose from in the middle of the day. We opted to try one of each of the 3 flavors left (ube, matcha white choco, and dark chocolate), for $9. The mochi donuts were really delicious, very fluffy, and with just the right level of sweetness. The box it comes in is very aesthetically pleasing, and would make a great presentation box if you are buying some donuts to give to friends or family. The inside is very clean, and shared with a fried chicken shop on the other half of the store. There is a bench for sitting, as well as a nice backdrop for some great IG snapshots.

Genevieve G.

Yelp
The food was super good and the workers were super nice. The area was pretty clean too. Would go again.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for awhile, so I went here over the weekend on Saturday around 3:20pm recently and there was no wait. When I arrived, I noticed there weren't a lot of flavors to choose from under the glass case and most donuts were already gone. I was a little bummed about that. The menu here says you can order either a box of 3, 6 or, 12 donuts. Now, I knew I didn't want a box of donuts, so I asked them if I can only order 1 donut. I ended up choosing the Funnel Cake flavored mochi donut. I was a little worried it would be too sweet for me since I usually don't like donuts with syrup, BUT this donut wasn't too sweet! I really enjoyed it and the donut had a slight crisp to it. It reminded me of the syrup used for strawberry pancakes. I'd recommend this place! Most mochi donut places I've been to have been too sweet for me, but this one wasn't. I liked how the donut has a slight crisp to it, which is different. Next time I go here, I'll try their other menu items like their hotdogs.

Yelp
Had to bring some "gifts" to various friends and family so decided this was a good option. I mean who doesn't like mochi donuts! The place is very inviting and cute. Modern yet warm. Servers are friendly. Interesting mix of flavors. We got a mix of everything since we were buying quite a bit! I personally love the ube, sesame and matcha ones. But not a huge fan of the sweeter ones. Just me, others with sweet tooths might like those much more. Love it, would come back and hope for more of the savory ones.
google avatar

Lindsay C.

Yelp
I was in the mood for something savory today so I got their potato1/2 and 1/2 dog. Fried potato on the outside with 1/2 mozzarella cheese and 1/2 a hot dog. If you're looking for photos with a cheese pull this place definitely has it. Very addicting! I love how crunchy the potatoes on this were. It was made fresh so I had to wait about 10-15 minutes it very worth it. I would be back.
google avatar

Samantha D.

Yelp
Came on a Saturday around 5pm. They were running low on mochi donuts, so I waited for a variety box of 12 fresh donuts. Just paid ahead of time and came back around 10-15 minutes for when the donuts were said to be done. The variety box had that days flavors of original, churro, matcha, funnel cake, chocolate, fruity pebbles, and guava. For most of the donuts, I thought they were on the sweeter side. I wish the matcha and guava flavors were stronger in the respective donuts. My favorite was the chocolate, not too sweet. Churro and original were okay. The fruit pebbles was just a regular glaze with cereal. I didn't think it was mind blowing. The donuts were so good fresh. It was still so crispy on the outside but chewy on the inside. I loved that there was a variety of donut flavors. I'll definitely be back to try other rotating flavors.

Yelp
===TL;DR=== - Soft opening menu (flavors): - Churro - Funnel cake - Original - Matcha - Guava - Chocolate - Fruity pebble - Also sells rice hotdog? ===TMI=== Came here the day AFTER soft opening.. no lines -gasp-. Cute, bright, and Instagram-able interior vibes. Grabbed half a dozen so I can try *all (don't think they had fruity pebbles that day) the flavors. Favorite was surprisingly the Guava flavor. Ngl, all of them lowkey had this Chinese donut (you tiao) taste -shrug- but nonetheless they were pretty good. Not overly sweet! And my bad, was too excited to try it, I forgot to take an actual photo of THE mochinuts haha

Yelp
After work Friday night, I was picking up an order at a nearby restaurant, and I was surprised to see that Mochinut SF appeared to be open. As I passed by, I was offered a sample and got to try out the Churro flavor. It was hot and freshly covered in cinnamon and sugar. I didn't really need that kind of sweetness so late in the day, but I was so happy to be at the right place, at the right time. It was great to try the Mochinut. I really liked that it was not too sweet! Also, I would have thought mochi to be a bit dense but the Mochinut was pleasantly fluffy, warm, and chewy. I will be back for more. The owners are really nice and they're working hard to get things ready for the opening, Friday, October 15th. Parking will be hard to find I'm sure, so be patient and let the Mochinut be your reward! Not sure yet how they're going to fill the orders, but if there's a bit of a wait after the purchase, check out the nearby restaurants and markets! There's so many good places on the same block and in the surrounding area that are walking distance.
google avatar

Lilian M.

Yelp
I stopped by on a rainy Saturday afternoon and didn't have to wait too long. I ordered a box of 3 ube mochi donuts and 3 churro mochi donuts. The churro flavor was definitely reminiscent of a cinnamon coated churro stick. I don't typically eat ube, so I'm not sure if the flavor wasn't as pronounced. The mochi donuts make for a light sweet treat. At the end of the day, all is good since the Asian elders approved mochi donuts for their chewiness and level of sweetness.
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
I stopped by here since I was in the area doing errands. I picked up 3 mochi donuts for my friend's birthday. I don't know how they tasted. I also ordered a potato Korean style corn dog for myself. It was delicious and reasonably priced. I've been to another place that sells Korean style corn dogs that is nearly double the price & wasn't nearly as good I like that they have more variety. They also share a kitchen and part of the shop with a popular fried chicken establishment. I don't live very close but will definitely come back to try other corn dogs & mochi donut flavors.
google avatar

Vivian T.

Yelp
This was my second visit here, and unfortunately was worse than my first visit. I stopped by around 10:30am on a Saturday, but to my surprise, they only had 2 flavors of mochi donuts out and were not even serving their rice dogs yet. To not be fully prepped at opening is... confusing? If you want to try their other flavors, I would visit later on in the day. Texture of the mochi donuts is standard, but be careful in choosing your flavors based on how sweet you like your desserts: - the sugarcoated mochi donuts (ie: churro and ube) are a bit too sweet - seasonal Thai tea flavor was delicious - matcha is standard I have also seen some reviews that show inconsistent shape and glaze coating, but my order was fine! I would visit The Mochi Donut Shop again if I was in the area and craving for a mochi donut since they do have exciting seasonal flavors, but will def visit again later in the day...

Yelp
Very much enjoyed my experience ordering from "Mochi Donut Shop". First arriving I immediately knew I was going to enjoy the selections. Ordered one of each donut that were available. I arrived later in the day expecting few options, but they had a nice selection of flavors! Fresh and nicely prepared! Must get the Boba Teas! Delish! Highly recommend, I will be a returning customer :)
google avatar

Karen Y.

Yelp
Came here about 2-3 weeks after their opening. I do have to say I was a little disappointed by the selection. Some of the options were mislabeled and I did have to ask what each one was. They rotate their selection pretty frequently (sometimes it seems like even on the day of) so there are new options for those who might want to try different flavors. Overall, it didn't necessarily wow me in anyway but if I was looking for something sweet other than boba (& there are MULTIPLE boba stores around this area), this might hit the spot.
google avatar

Matthew T.

Yelp
Honestly I'd rate this closer to a 3.5 but I'll round up. We went to this place after a meal at a nearby restaurant and saw a small line so we were intrigued. The shop was connected with a Krunchy Chicken and they served mochi donuts and Korean corn dogs, definitely a winning combo! We ordered 3 donuts for $9 and honestly the flavors weren't anything special. We ordered matcha, white chocolate, and ube. That's the order in which we liked them with the ube one being very disappointing! Honestly the redeeming quality was when we ordered, they came out with hot, fresh donuts which made it much better. Not fresh, they aren't anything special.

Yelp
This review is just for the Vietnamese coffee and the emerald drink. I was so excited that this place started serving orbit coffee! I tried it in Oakland and I thought it was so good! I thought the Vietnamese coffee tasted good, but for the portion and the price, I would not get it again. My drink was not even full and had 75% ice. The prices and sizes are better at Orbit in Oakland but I guess the trade off is that if I wanted to go to Oakland for it, I would have to drive there and pay for the bridge toll. So if you're really craving it in Sf, this could hit the spot! The Emerald drink tasted like a watered down drink with a little bit of tea flavor so I was not a fan.

Yelp
I am always searching for a boba shop that also has food, because I don't ALWAYS want to order 3 bobas to hit a delivery minimum! That being said, I spied mochi donut shop yesterday on DoorDash and had to give it a try! We ordered: 1. Milk Tea Boba - Good tea flavor, slightly on the sweeter side and no option to adjust sweetness. Still good though! 2. Brown Sugar Milk Tea Boba - Definitely a little too sweet for me, but Ben really liked! 3. Half/Half Original Cheese Dog - SOOOOO GOOD even though it is sooo bad for you! Hahah, i ordered one to share with Ben just to not fall too hard off the wagon, but after I had the first bite - there was instant regret for not each getting our own. Whoops! 4. 3 -pack assorted mochi donuts - These were ok, but not my favorite. They were a little bit dry and less chewy than the mochinut donut place in Castro Valley. My favorite was the cinnamon sugar flavor, but Ben's favorite was the fruit pebbles. To each their own, I guess! Will definitely be ordering again during our next cheat day!! :)

Yelp
I do not use the word hate very often if at all. Yet, the flavors and quality of product we received at Mochiyuck stirred those feelings! You can literally taste the bitter red food coloring in the sugary this coatings they dip the stale fried rice balls in! Save yourself from the anger and the smell of fried chicken oil and just go to Mochill and get the love you deserve.

Yelp
Fun, fresh, and unique donuts. Not too sweet and easily shareable so don't feel guilty getting these any time of day or night. 4 stars isn't a knock. It's GREAT. I'm just saving 5 stars for truly exceptional food experiences.

Yelp
I got delivery from Mochinut and was pleasantly surprised. My order consisted of the 3 piece donut box and a Milk tea with boba. The delivery arrived on time and came in a nice bag plus the container the Milk tea was cute and branded. The milk tea was surprisingly good, I had low expectations since they are more known for their donuts but the boba was actually a good texture and the drink traveled well (wasn't too watery from the ice). The only downside was that the donut flavors were a surprise since I got the 3 piece box and the donuts weren't labeled. So, I'm not 100% sure of the flavors or names but I believe the ones I got were mango, cinnamon, and chocolate. They all had fairly subtle flavors and weren't too sweet. Overall, the donuts were good and I would order again for birthdays or a weekday/weekend treat.

Yelp
Love mochi donuts! The texture is just that extra something that keeps me coming back for more. Here, I ordered flavors of ube, fruity pebbles, and nutella. The box of solo ubes are so aesthetic- they're pink but up close there sprinkles of purple. The boba drinks also come in cute can bottles, great for on the go (although not sure how green that is for the environment). Service was sweet. I love that they open at 10am instead of 12pm like other places. I def need to come back to try their corn dogs!

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place so I finally got a chance to! Came here for a Korean hot dog and got the crispy potato one with half hot dog, half cheese. It came out huge but it was all batter which was disappointing because the meat/cheese to batter ratio was terrible and not balanced. The little potatoes were crispy and good though BUT I wouldn't come back here for the Korean hot dogs (only mochi donuts).

Yelp
Came in here to see the mochi donuts and noticed that they had rice dogs. I decided to try the rice dog as the mochi donuts are kind of pricey. I got the cheeto half and half which means there's cheese and meat. There's nothing special about it. It's thickly breaded and the cheese/hot dog tasted average.

Yelp
No lines on a weekend afternoon, which is great compared to Mochill in Japantown. Prices are a little higher. I think Mochill is slightly chewier. Unique flavors like churro, ube, and lychee rose. A couple counter seating spots inside but definitely more of a takeout place. It's connected to a chicken restaurant next door.

Yelp
This place is pretty cool inside with their decor and the staff are friendly and helpful for first timers. Not sure what to expect since I don't really have anything to compare this mochi donut to. I tried their passion fruit and ume and matcha...the mochi donuts all look super delicious but after trying them personally I was not too impressed with the way they tasted. But they do have really delicious milk tea that I will definitely be coming back for. I would say worth a try but definitely get the milk tea boba.

Yelp
I went in on a Wednesday afternoon, absolutely no line. The worker was extremely accommodating and nice to us when we asked questions. We got half a dozen and it was easy to choose! (near the cashier there are samples but we didn't see it soon enough) I tried the strawberry and churro flavors. By far the churro was my favorite, it wasn't too sweet and was dusted with light sugar. The strawberry mochi donut was almost the opposite of a strawberry Rice Krispy which are too artificially strawberry sweet. It was lacking in strawberry flavor and was a little tasteless, but had that signature mochi donut feel. Overall, I felt the price was a little on the heavier side for half a dozen BUT maybe that's the price for mochi donuts (it was about $20)

Yelp
I was pretty disappointed. The donuts tasted overly greasy, and you can definitely taste the oil in the dark chocolate. The strawberry (pink) tastes synthetic. The taro (purple) was the best of the 3 that I purchased. The donuts you see on display do not include the ones in the back. So if you're looking for a specific flavor, ask! It doesn't hurt.

Yelp
New mochinut location opened on Irving & wanted to give it a try ~ the donuts itself was really tasty compared to some other places I've been & they have great variety of flavors to choose from. My favorite was the funnel cake flavor since it was so unique! The nutella was as expected but still good but the black sesame lacked flavor as it only tasted like a sugar glaze & was not as good compared to other places like mochill. Definitely wouldn't get that flavor again. Main reason for giving only 3 stars would be the service .. the staff was friendly overall but lack communication skills. I wanted to order one of their special milk teas and I had told the staff that was helping me that I would like the ube milk tea and he did not say "hold on, I'll check for you" or "lemme check on that" or anything at all. He looked at me and then went to the back and I assume he is checking and then he comes back and proceeds to ring me out for the donuts without following up about the milk tea. I asked again ok... so do you guys have it? He said no sorry we dont have any. So only 3 stars considering the lack of communication & overall flavor of the donuts were just okay. Wouldn't come back again unfortunately.

Yelp
Came by to check out this place as we were grocery shopping on Irving. They had 6 different flavors, I got one if each. Flavors that had available was nutella, ube, matcha, pistachio, churro and strawberry. They were ok, they are a lot denser than the ones that I've had in the past. I think the favorite flavors out of these 6 were the nutella. Place was clean and brightly lit with a floral wall for pictures. I wanted to try the rice hotdogs but just had lunch, will need to try it next time. A good place to try mochi donuts without a crazy long line.

Yelp
Ah, yes. Finally a more accessible mochi donut place in San Francisco. Mochill Mochi Donut was the only mochi donut place for awhile and it's in Japantown (parking is atrocious in Japantown). I like how they alternate new flavors around every time I come, but the popular flavors are always available. Their guava is the current most popular flavor. It's not too sweet and perfect for people who don't usually like sweets. Also, love how the place is super cute and so insta-worthy. Come take a cute pic with your friends!! Must try: - Guava

Yelp
New Mochinut location opened up here in Irving Street, in the Sunset district. Had to check it out with the kids. Parking: street/metered Payments accepted: cash & credit cards Even though everyone loves donuts, I don't eat them often since I find them a bit too sweet at times. This is my first time trying a Mochinut donut, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Tried a bit of each flavor. I like it! The only flavor I did not try was matcha, since I personally am not a matcha fan. The donuts were not too sweet and the way it's like connected little balls/dots, you can just break off the pieces and share with each other to try the flavors. Like connect donut holes. - the frosted with cereal topping (sorry, didn't catch the name): not too sweet and had the nice crunch from the cereal toppings. - black sesame: the sesame frosting definitely made this donut sweet. Would go great with a latte or a warm soy milk. - funnel cake: not as sweet as we thought, but it looks like they stopped adding the fresh strawberries as they did previously. I still got the powdered sugar falling in me like a real funnel cake tho. Lol! - churros: not as crispy & crunchy as an actual churro, but the similar flavor was kind of there. Not as sweet as a churro. Tasted more like a cinnamon donut. - guava coconut: OMG my fave so far!! We saw them taking this out fresh from the back as we were paying, so I had to get it to try. The fresh-out-of-the-oven definitely made a huge difference. The sweetness level of the guava was perfect, and topped with the coconut. Loved it! I will come back to try the other flavors, and grab another guava while there.
