The drinks were cheap, but the guest were not too nice and I paid good money to play a song and the bartender turned it off. Staff just wanted to hang out with their friends, and they couldn’t wait to get us out of there. Not a good business 0/10. Do not recommend.

We showed up at 11:15 p.m. ready to have a drink or two, then leave. A staff member was blocking the door, and when they checked our ID's, she stared at it for several seconds. We have loved our experience in North Adams so far and were excited to show our friend from New York the place. It took several mins to get noticed by the bartender, and our drink order felt rushed. When we went for another round, I couldn't help but feel ignored by both bartenders as they were clearly helping people around me. They were cleaning up quickly (while there were well 15 other patrons still in there drinking,) so we decided to down our drink and head back to our bnb for the evening. As well left, they shut the door and locked it behind us. Literally. We are in our 30s and quite obviously queer. It couldn't help but feel slightly targeted. This seems off character from what we have experienced for the last several days in North Adams. People are kind, friendly, and hospitable. I hope this was just an off night for them, but again, I didn't feel like the best experiences from the getgo.

Definitely not open til 12:30. They called last call at 11:30 and then yelled at us to get out and took the drinks out of our hands less than 10 minutes later. Why sell us a drink we can’t finish? We had 2 beers and tipped well. This place sucks.

Gorgeous bar dogs! Cold beer. Loud jukebox, pool table & darts. Good night with good folks.

Lady was very rude. As a woman of color and new to the town I got kicked out of this bar with my friend, a hour later after having a good time she comes to us and tells us to leave. The lady was very rude I do not recommend this place at all.

we spoke with the manager via facebook a week or two before our wedding in September to coordinate our after party for our wedding that would be ending at 11pm at MASS Moca. their hours listed normally are until midnight - and upon messaging with the manager they said they would stay open for us past that - which was so kind! We were only expecting them to stay until midnight for their normal hours! Well, 11:15 rolled around and I started getting texts from guests that made their way over that the bar was completely closed, so many people went back to their hotels. I was so disappointed there were friends and family I didn’t have the chance to say goodbye to, and one of the most important night of our lives was cut short. We listed the after party in our wedding programs, wedding welcome bags, told our friends to get out cash since it is cash only. Thinking about this still makes my blood boil, as this was over a month ago now and I still feel like such an injustice was done to us.

Me and my friends came in here after visiting a concert at MassMoCA, we were denied service and had our IDs thrown at us by the bartender… we’re in our 30s and we were sober. It felt very targeted, we are a group of queer and trans people and just wanted to enjoy a drink after visiting the museum.

Google
Great service and drinks. A casual place to shoot pool and hang out. They don't serve food, so they let you order pizzas to be delivered there. It's cash only at the bar. Order a round of pudding shots as dessert.

Yelp
Local dive, cash only- buckle up because you're going to see a lot happen here that I can't really describe. Good luck and Godspeed.

Yelp
I was asked to leave this venue about 6 years ago because I had an expired license but had the paper copy proving my card was on its way in the mail. Because it wasn't an official license the bar tender told me she wouldn't serve me. Keep in mind, I was 26 at the time, not someone who just turned 21. I disagreed and told the bouncer I thought it was ridiculous, he then AGREED with me. I've never been back since, I'll spend my money somewhere else.

Yelp
Pool table, juke box, cheap whiskey. Need I say more? Friendly crowd. Personable owner. Sweet bartenders. If you want a cocktail, go up the street to That Other Place. But if you just want a drink -- not picky -- come here. It's a great place to hang.

Yelp
I'm honestly disappointed. I went to north adams to see some friends and they took me to the Mohawk for some drinks. At first it was great, then I went up to buy 2 drinks for me and a friend. For some reason, the only tequila they had was patron. Fine, it was a special occasion. I paid the $24 and got my drinks and then handed the bartender markie a $10 and said I'll take $5 back. He said "thanks so much I appreciate it" then walked away. I kept looking at him like dude I know you heard me? So I had to call him over to get my change. It caused the bartender to flip out and yell at my friend, Which didn't go his way at all. Apparently, this bartender markie is notorious for scamming people like that. As someone who is also in the food and bar industry, I find people like this despicable. I originally wasn't going to leave a review and just speak to management on a different day however I feel like it's important to share this kind of experience as it's very clear this bartender is used to getting away with taking advantage of people like this.

Yelp
I came from New York with my boyfriend for a concert at Mass MoCA & headed here afterwards. Pool, darts, a large local crowd, the usual. Everything was fine until I went to the bar to get three drinks (a shot + beer for me & a beer for my boyfriend, who was by the jukebox): the female bartender said she couldn't "Just hand off that many drinks to someone I don't know." Dumbfounded, I said "What?" to which she replied "I don't know you, so I can't give you that many drinks." I've never heard this in my life & looked around to see if anyone else was hearing this. I said they aren't all for me, my boyfriend is over there, and she still refused to serve me. Like I was trying to cash a check at a bank I didn't own an account in. So weird. Never been a fan of townie bars, and probably won't go back the next time I'm in the area.

Yelp
This place has the potential to be great. But when the bartender Evan turns off the jukebox right after you put money and all your songs in, that's pretty obnoxious. The prices change dependent on how much Evan has had to drink, the darts are behind a table that always seem to be seated and they no longer serve food. I'd go elsewhere.

Yelp
Fantastic neighborhood bar with an amazing bartender and great drinks. Loved the atmosphere and the music.

Yelp
There are seriously about 40 bars in and around the greater North Adams area. I only go to this one. Because its the best bar in town. The bartenders never forget a face, the jukebox is always warmed up and ready to go, and the TVs are on whatever you want to watch. This place has no frills; they don't serve food (but they certainly don't mind pizza delivery) and they have all the booze and beers you could really ever want or need to have yourself a nice drunk night with your friends downtown. Its never overwhelming loud. I hate that. I hate going to a bar and having to shout to your friends. This is not a place where you have to shout. There are sometimes dance parties. They're ridiculously fun and yes, those nights you're not coming in for a quiet brew. But you shouldn't be doing that anyway, you should be coming in to dance. Come get your $1 drafts of PBR and watch the game, or come and get your Knob Creek on the rocks and watch Jeopardy. Both things I tend to do. Bring all your friends, bring some cards or a board game if you're feelin' frisky. And if its slow, the bartender Missy will totally entertain you by playing a round of Yahtzee with you while simultaneously and effortlessly keeping your glasses full. The bathroom may smell like urinal cake, but that doesn't even knock one star off of my rating for my favorite local tavern. I love this place and its always going to be my local down the street.

Yelp
Engaging, friendly and interesting bartender, good, reasonably priced drinks, a must stop after visiting Mass MoCA or if you just happen to be in the area.

Keri W.

Yelp
The female bartender was totally rude. I will not recommend any family or friends who visit MassMoca to go to this place unless they want to be talked down to.

Yelp
Fantastic bar with good beer, delicious food from the Italian place next door (via pneumatic tube!), and super service. Just know in advance, CASH ONLY. Friendliest bar in town with a great mix of locals and Mass Moca etc. visitors.
