Wonderful restaurant all around. The food was amazing, everyone loves the Cesar salad but I recommend the cowboy steak and fries. The flavor was outstanding. The caviar was also amazing. I think you will have a great time no matter what you order. Also this is a kid friendly restaurant.

The food was great. The Ceasars Salad with anchovies is one of a kind. Salmon is amazing, and the ribeye was very good. Service is outstanding.

We booked our Christmas Eve Dinner here, and this restaurant delivered. Not only did my boyfriend think the steak was better here than at Catch Steak, but the ambience was wonderful and magical (it’s designed like a London gentlemen’s club so it does lean slightly masculine in style.) All the staff were so happy to be working even though it was a holiday, and our waiter (his name starts with a G and sounded Italian) remembered both of our names and was so kind and hospitable to us. This was a very memorable experience and I would recommend this place to any of our clients visiting from out of town. We ordered the truffle mac and potatoes au gratin which were both cheesy and delicious. 10/10. The Manhattans were good though I wish I had ordered a red wine. I also think the actual filet mignon is better than the bison filet. My boyfriend ordered a bacon bourbon butter and ended up not eating it with his steak even though it sounded great, he said the steak was that good on its own.

Wonderful dining experience and delicious food best filet. The manager is so in touch with dining guest, makes experience special. Ceaser salad made table side is also amazing. Great wine list, and really the desert is amazing too. Request Juan as your waiter

Twenty-Four 7 Restaurant @ Monarch Casino Hotel 488 Main St, Black Hawk, CO 80422 I had a great late night! My husband and I were astonished that this restaurant is open 24/7. I parked my F150 for free in their car tower. The food was not the average casino frozen to table entrée. The service here was so personal. The calamari were tasty with just the right amount crisp. The diamond grill marks on my MR steak add a touch of virtuosity. I was craving Asian food and man did the chef deliver. Great job! Don't forget to check out my photos.

The atmosphere, food and quality customer service were phenomenal. This is a fine dining restaurant and we ordered the Monarch Rockefeller, 32 oz Tomahawk Rib Eye (for 2) with Fingerling Smashed potato with Béarnaise sauce and finished with dessert of sticky toffee pudding. We also enjoyed the Burning Man and Black Buffalo Manhattans. Our reservation was at 8 pm (it was a Thursday) and we got seated and greeted quickly and drinks arrived fast too. I was a little surprised at how long it took for our starter to and our meal to arrive but overall it was a lovely experience.

Google
Food was fantastic. Gal who made Ceasars salad in front of us was great, main waiter was arrogant.

Google
Everything was great, as expected. Great food. Great service. Great ambiance. Our 10 and 6 yr olds loved it as well. We gave it a go per recommendation of chef Barclay. It was perfect. It could be a little more child friendly (host) but we had an amazing time.

Yelp
I came for my birthday dinner and was treated like a King. Chase the maitre d was incredible. Personable, funny, attentive and treated us to a Carajillo, a Latin version of an Expresso Martini, it's better than the martini. We split a delicious Porterhouse and their Au Gratin potatoes were the best I have ever had. Great atmosphere and vibe. Perfect size Steak House. Would give 6 stars if possible. A definite must if you are looking for a great Steakhouse in Aspen !

Tara R.

Yelp
5 star service, food was amazing & atmosphere is cozy and inviting. We had the Caesar salad, made table side. This experience is a must when dining at the Monarch. Shared the Tomahawk, oscar style, with whipped potatoes & caramelized onions. The steak was tender and well seasoned. Finished off our dinner with expresso ice cream. Atmosphere is classy, you can dress business casual or dress up for a special occasion and still feel comfortable. Overall fabulous and highly recommend.

Yelp
Food was great! We really enjoyed the ambiance. Would recommend. When we come back to Aspen we will definitely be going back.

Lisa J.

Yelp
Great except they will not allow your registered support dog if it's an Emotional support dog, which was off putting given they do have an outdoor dining patio. In Aspen everyone has dogs. It's so dog friendly, except at Monarch when it comes to emotional support dogs. Otherwise it's great food, service and ambience.

Yelp
We have eaten at Monarch Steakhouse countless times. Our past few dinners, however, have been a crescendo of haute attitude and declining service, culminating in an abysmal meal last Sunday. Before posting this, I thought it only fair to share my experience with the manager at Monarch. He thanked me for my "feedback" with the sincerity and remorse of a poorly programmed bot--especially disconcerting since I told him three out of four of us got sick. If not textbook food poisoning, we spent the night and next day bathroom-bound. While said manager didn't cook the food, he was forced to take our order after our waiter introduced himself and didn't reappear until he brought the check. Despite a hive of activity around larger tables, the manager explained--in the same flatlined cadence I'd experience again a couple of days later--that they were short-staffed. This, however, did not account for the kitchen managing to send out the steak, take back a few slices and return them well-done before the only cold dish we'd ordered arrived. Admittedly, all restaurants have off nights, so attitude becomes the differentiator. Even mediocre food tastes better when served with humility and heart. In lieu of an earnest apology, which would've been a just dessert, perhaps they'll incorporate my feedback into their menu.

Canon T.

Yelp
One of the best dining experiences I've ever had. The food the was incredible, service was top notch and everything was just so well done. I will be back!

John M.

Yelp
Just not as special as it is to be! Staff, food and atmosphere just not that great We used to come almost weekly to this restaurant. No more.. they rush you through your meal, the woman preparing table side cesears salad was bored out of her mind. No interaction with us.. we will be spending our money elsewhere!

Eric K.

Yelp
Exceptional service at the bat tonight but food and atmosphere a step below Steakhouse 316. Still an exceptional dining experience and much less crowded than 316.

Howard K.

Yelp
We wanted to take our friend out to a nice steak house after a long day of snowboarding in Aspen but found ourselves quite disappointed in this establishment. I'm huge on the food aspect of an experience so this is where it truly failed me. You would think at a location in Aspen with multiple dollar signs would be a winner but I was wrong. As a yelper, I should have done my HW as well and read up on the other reviews, if I did. I wouldn't have come myself. The steak was flavorless and tough, even though it was cooked rare. The ribs were even worse than the steak, how do you not season your food?! It was so bad, I stopped eating, didn't want waste room in my stomach anymore. The sides were nothing to rave about, avg to below average at best. The best thing was their Caesar salad, which is quite sad. But the main courses being that horrible, I could never recommend a place like this to others if I, myself would not come back. The only reason why I'm giving them 2 stars is because their service was very nice and accommodating to us. But they need to work on their food...

Adam M.

Yelp
I don't really want to leave a bad review but when you are spending $400+ on a dinner and the food isn't great and the service is pretty bad sometimes you just have to call a spade a spade. My opinion of this restaurant is that it's very overpriced for the quality and the quantity that you get. Your steak comes with no sides, which a lot of steak places are doing nowadays but when you spend $15-20 per side and the portions are for an individual person that seems pretty steep for me. I got the special which was a 10oz bone-in filet. It was just okay, and I tried the Diver Scallops which were very overcooked and my wife's lobster she got on top of her pasta was so overcooked we couldn't even cut through it. If you come here I'd suggest staying away from any sort of seafood it doesn't seem like they are well prepared to cook those properly and if you want a steak the meat here is good, just nothing amazing especially for the price point.

Susan F.

Yelp
Everything from beginning to end was great with this restaurant. The service, food, ambiance, everything was lovely. We were a group of 4. Everything seemed priced right and the staff was highly attentive. Would definitely go here again. 10/10! Thank you Monarch!

Robin V.

Yelp
We had a wonderful meal at the Monarch. The ambience/decor is awesome, drinks are great and food is even better! We had the tableside Caesar, filet and finished with a delicious sticky toffee pudding.

Lucja K.

Yelp
Such good steak, side dishes, very fresh green salad and super knowledgeable waiter !10/10:)

Linda B.

Yelp
Expensive steaks that are overly seasoned. Side dishes were a little too buttery. Nice place but certainly overrated. Ambiance was very nice and the waiter was great.

Jo F.

Yelp
I was very disappointed in the amount of snow crab they gave me for a whopping $39 extra. Very disappointed. Overall is only ok, it's very pricey for what you get so maybe try something or somewhere else with more bang.

Katherine T.

Yelp
Probably one of the worst dining experience I've ever had. Down to the seating in an empty restaurant, the service, and the food was subpar. Plenty of good restaurants in Aspen, do yourself a favor and skip this establishment.

Skylar S.

Yelp
Monarch Steakhouse is wonderful. First of all, the staff is so kind, and the restaurant is so classic Aspen. When you go you HAVE to get the Caesar salad, they make it at your table and it's the best I've ever had. Besides that, all the meat is very good. I am always content. I will say the sommelier last time did steer us wrong with a cheaper wine pairing that was mediocre, but the food didn't disappoint. If you're in Aspen and want steak, you have to check it out! (from @tastessky on Instagram)

Yelp
No complaints, food and service were exceptional - the only meal I truly enjoyed during my week in aspen. I encourage the staff to continue doing what they're doing

Katherine E.

Yelp
We sat at the cozy bar and ordered off the Manhattan menu and enjoyed a well-made old fashioned. We also ordered several side dishes to share as our meal. We topped it off with their sticky toffee pudding with ice cream! The service was great and the ambiance was very classic. Call before you go if visiting in late fall and late spring as they close for a month or so between seasons.

Audrey O.

Yelp
I had a phenomenal experience at The Monarch. Vibes are effortlessly trendy and the staff is attentive yet not too much. All of our food was incredible -- I'd especially recommend the halibut and the rack of lamb. Members of my party noted this is some the best lamb they've had. The sticky toffee cake is a must. I'm coming back here ASAP!!

Steven T.

Yelp
It's aspen. Ordinary food we did have great service. Everything in aspen is expensive and monarch was no different. Ceasar salad was the best part of the meal. Again great service which is important.

Shelly T.

Yelp
We had a great meal and dining experience at monarch. It's been one of our favorite dinners so far. We had the table side Caesar, bison filet with garlic butter, prime tenderloin filet with peppercorn sauce, and au gratin potatoes. The sauces are very large and come on the side so we could have easily shared one had we known. We shared the potatoes and didn't finish them all even though they were very good. The table side Caesar is so fun and yummy. We skipped dessert because we were full. Our service was great.

Heidi M.

Yelp
SO disappointed. I hate to say this, but this place is extremely overrated. When I pay $400+ for dinner for two people, I expect some pretty amazing food. I ordered the bucatini + lobster tail. The pasta was delicious, and then it ends there. The lobster was so overcooked, I couldn't even cut it. I could barely even chew it. Why didn't I say something? Our server was rude and was getting pretty short with us. Honestly, I wanted to stay and order more wine but after the dinner experience we had, I couldn't wait to leave. I would not recommend Monarch. Spend your money somewhere else!

Parker L.

Yelp
Spent way too much for a chewy steak and rude service. I rarely leave bad reviews. However, our waiter was not present (this is expected when you are dropping $300+ for a steak). Additionally, our steaks were extremely chewy. You could tell the cut of meat was not high quality. Save yourself the money and go to The White House .. food is 10X better and service is fantastic.

H S.

Yelp
The sommelier was informative and lovely. We were waited on in a very timely manner. The ambience was very nice and as we expected. The main issue was simply the steak. It was a 100% salt bomb leaving our mouths burning with every single bite. Does the Chef or preparing cooks ever taste what they're making? The quality of the beef was not exceptional but it was very good, however the salt was obtrusive, abusive, and overwhelming. This destroyed the entire experience. We could have complained but we didn't. Hopefully the management reads this and makes adjustments. If not there's no reason to go here for steak - ever.if you go tell them low salt on the steak....

Bob B.

Yelp
This restaurant has no idea how many probable customers they would have gotten. Why have a table side ceaser if you can't even video it. No problem with the restaurant, just the lady making the table side ceaser. I was filming the salad being made not her and she literally yelled at me. Not even posting this place anymore. I'm so mad I can't even begin to explain. Never even coming back to a place that used to be my favorite because she completely ruined my experience. Like please, you are literally designated salad dressing maker.

Curtis B.

Yelp
Excellent service, upscale atmosphere, caviar sampler was amazing, sommelier was great at recommending the Cade Cabernet Sauvignon to pair with the cowboy cut bone-in Ribeye which was cooked to perfection with a nice crispy crust of deliciousness.

Bennett M.

Yelp
The Monarch is such a disappointment. Food quality was so poor, fish was sent back as soft and slight smell. And got a bad attitude on top of it and a poorly run staff and operation. Other guests dishes were just average for overpriced out of way restaurant in Aspen. Not worth your time for this yet again re opened and try it again business.

Breann B.

Yelp
I would rate this place lower but Yelp won't let you rate any place with zero stars. Prices are consistent with any good steakhouse. The service from the hostess, manager and bar tenders is far below average. Drinks were not good and the food was even more disappointing. I've been fortunate enough to travel a great deal and eat at some of the best restaurants in the world and I would never go back to this place.

Joey X.

Yelp
Two friends and I came to dinner at Monarch on a Sunday night in Aspen, and we were able to nab three seats at the bar despite having no reservation. Huzzah! We started with cocktails and I sadly can't comment too much on them as I was fairly inebriated already when I came in. I barely made a dent in my drink but it was delicious. We ordered: - prime filet medium rare: really delicious. I got the lobster tail crown but thought my friend's sherry mushroom ragout sauce was better - bison filet - also delicious, thought I liked the prime filet better - black truffle Mac and cheese: my favorite side - Brussels sprouts: good but not the highlight of the meal Overall I really enjoyed the meal at Monarch. We wanted to try steakhouse 316 but couldn't get a reservation; I don't regret it as Monarch was a treat!

Matt K.

Yelp
The Monarch was delicious! We started our meal with the table side Cesar salad, followed by the tomahawk rib eye for 2 topped with king crab, with seared mushrooms and potatoes as our sides. Our tomahawk rib eye was undercooked for what we had asked which I do have a major problem with, especially with such an expensive meal; everything should be spot on. But with that being said, the food was REALLY good overall including the steak. The service was great. Now for my other two complaints: I normally don't like to complain about cost especially in Aspen where I fully expected everything to be extremely overpriced BUT...#1. Cesar Salad $20 per person. WOW! I get the show, they do it table side and they explain all the ingredients as they do it but $40 for a cesar salad for 2 is CRAZY out of control. However, it was a great salad, so so so good. #2. We asked for horseradish for our steak and our waitress explained they do it in-house and it's really good. It was ok, no real horseradish flavor plus when we got the bill, we noticed they charged us $6 for it. $6 for horseradish?! You spend so much money on a meal and they still feel the need to get you for more money for a condiment. I get that it's just the way it goes especially nowadays but I just feel like that's a little too Aspen. Overall great meal.

Leona K.

Yelp
Excellent from A to Z -- service on target -- food fantastic -- appetizers great -- the steak melted in your mouth -- desert great -- great evening overall -- any time again -- 3 people at $450 They let us finish and did not push us out we closed it down lol

David C.

Yelp
Wife and I enjoyed the ambiance (romantic and dimly lit), and the food was spot on for a good steakhouse and memorable meal. Sarah was really hospitable and able to squeeze us into a seating on a Friday night at 9pm. Sides were also generally full of flavor (although the mashed tasted like a salt pill that night, but I could have sent them back and didn't), and our Manhattans were also perfectly made. They know how to make a good cocktail. We had so much food we took some of it back to The Limelight Hotel and had it at midnight. Again, excellent second time around! Prices are upper end, exactly as advertised. We split a bone in strip steak, and it was about $60.-70., and well worth it. Steak is prime for sure, melt in your mouth good.... We'll be back next time around. Total bill with one cocktail each and a glass of wine each, splitting our entree, was about $150.00-160.00, again not too extravagant for the quality of service and food.

Tom W.

Yelp
Service was great. Food was okay for the price. Salad was overdressed and the medium rare steak was a bit over cooked. Sides were delicious.

Wes H.

Yelp
Our group of seven arrived to our 830 reservation about 20 minutes early and the male host was rude & not accomodating, stating "see you at 830." When asked if we could wait somewhere, he said "not here" and suggested we do down the street to the Limelite. We heard him say the same thing to other guests who arrive 15-20 minutes early. I spent $750 and got this kind of rudeness.

Kevin M.

Yelp
I really enjoyed it. I had the lamb rack with potatoes and mushrooms. I ordered too much. The quality was great but the service was amazing. I enjoyed watching this team operate at such a high level with wait staff covering for each other with drink service, clearing plates etc. great place to eat!

Allie P.

Yelp
My family and I ate here the first night we arrived in Aspen. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. The staff were super attentive and the manager was so accommodating. I even called the next day as I had lost my wallet and he remembered what I had ordered and was so kind. Definitely one of my new favorite spots! Don't miss the seafood platter, the steak ( which is perfectly cooked) and you can't leave without a glass of Opus One red wine! A wonderful dining experience.

Tina J.

Yelp
The restaurant was very empty, so I am not exactly sure why the host seated us next to their noisy kitchen door of all the places. The host was not a friendly man to begin with. Didn't catch his name, he had on glasses and was working on the evening of May 27th. The servers were lounging around chatting amongst each other. Must have been a very slow evening. The interior of the restaurant is pretty. We ordered mashed potatoes, asparagus, herb roasted chicken, mussels, crab mac n cheese, and lemon sole fish. The asparagus and mashed potatoes were the most plain dishes. The favorite dishes among the table were the mussels and the super rich crab mac n cheese. The okay dishes were the chicken and the fish. For dessert we ordered the pavlova and banoffee pie. The pavlova was light and airy. The banofee was rich. Both delicious but drastically different. As we left, the host with the glasses rudely just stared at us leaving. One of the friendliest people there was the tall server with dark hair. They should replace the host with someone like the friendly server.

Julia F.

Yelp
Literally the worst service. So slow and waiter seriously neglected our table for hours. Food is very mediocre and too expensive for what it is. Been here a few times to give it another chance, but never again. Would not recommend!

Anna W.

Yelp
We made a reservation one day in advance for a party of 12. We were seated in a half booth and half table which is very inconvenient for people that need to get up to use the restroom. The food was prepared very well. I shared the 32 oz Tomahawk paired with the Truffle Mac and cheese. The Monarch also has a wide selection of wine that I am very impressed with. We enjoyed our meal throughly. Everything is was great except getting our drinks was very slow. They forgot about my drink twice. All of the desserts were delicious. We will be back next time we are in Aspen!

Lindsey G.

Yelp
My husband and I went on an overnight date night to aspen and wanted to visit the best rated steakhouse in town. I read the reviews of The Monarch and we decided to check it out. I was very disappointed that this was one of the top steak houses in the town, because their food was just ok. Definitely overpriced and nothing special.

Jeff R.

Yelp
Top notch meal with excellent service and wonderfully crafted drinks. Had a celebration dinner of sorts and the Monarch did not disappoint.

Melissa A.

Yelp
Excellent food. The shrimp appetizer was very fresh and very generous. Our steaks were delicious and cooked to perfection. Our waiter was super cool. The prices are OK, but it's Aspen and you expect to pay higher prices for everything you touch there. We had a very nice bottle of wine and overall, we had an amazing dinner.

Katie B.

Yelp
We celebrated our first wedding Anniversary year day, and dinner at the Monarch was the perfect ending! The ambiance, the décor, the food, and the staff were all on point. We were greeted by a glass of champagne and a heartfelt "congratulations " from the staff. Since we had a late lunch, we skipped ordering appetizers and went straight to the meal: table side Caesar salad, bison filet, prime filet with sherry mushroom Ragout...absolute perfection. We have diner all over the world, and this is one of the best experiences we have ever had. We'll be back in December for a ski holiday and can't wait to dine here again!!!

Liz F.

Yelp
Wonderful place... the service was incredible. My steak Brussels sprouts (without the bacon) and mushrooms was delicious. I would recommend this place and go again

Marissa R.

Yelp
The entire dining experience was extremely disappointing. The food was mediocre at best and the service was terribly insulting. The Caesar salad was far too acidic and the amount of dressing made the lettuce soggy in minutes. The French onion soup was your typical soup, nothing memorable. And the steaks ordered were ultimately brought home for the dogs. Part of our party was tardy and this caused the server and management to be extremely passive aggressive the entire night. Although they seated the present part of our party they would not let them order any starters until all orders (starters and entrées) were ready to be placed--making no sense if they wanted to expedite our dining process. Instead, the entire evening was filled with rude comments made to rush us which caused several members in our party to lose their appetites. Unfortunately, this led to more rudeness and pressuring from our server to order more. Bottom line is management's poor planning for foreseeable issues should not be taken out on the customers. Lastly, the atmosphere is too crammed to be enjoyable. We were back to back with other tables and the serving staff was constantly reaching in front of us. Very unprofessional for an "upscale" establishment. The only time we'd be back at this location is if/when a new restaurant comes in its place.

Jeffrey B.

Yelp
My wife and I dined last night at the Monarch steakhouse on the basis of its ambience and the fabulous experience we had last year at Steakhouse No.316. The ambience and vibe were busy and fun. The decor and layout is very well done and the service was of a good standard. Whether the kitchen was having a bad night or not remains to be seen but the meal did not live up to expectations. My wife ordered a salad which had a gritty pepper coating that left you feeling like you were eating salad leaves which had not been washed and it was off putting. The service staff were fast to assist my wife make an alternate choice and we were not billed for the salad. We shared a porterhouse steak which, although properly served in a cast iron skillet was barely warm - and I could touch the skillet with my bare hands - not something I would expect at a restaurant billing itself as a steakhouse. I think also that the price point of the porterhouse may reflect in the quality of the piece of meat delivered. We did not have desert although others have recommended the sticky toffee pudding, which although a personal favorite is not good for my waistline. Hope it was an off-night or that the quality of the cuisine will match its sister restaurant.

Alison W.

Yelp
Awesome meal from start to finish. Only negative remark is how dark the restaurant was (phone flashlight needed to read menu), but it worked for the ambience and that definitely wouldn't keep us coming back to dine. Service was impeccable and each person was extremely attentive. The food was DELICIOUS. House ceasar salad made table side, cauliflower soup of the day was rich and creamy (yet vegan!), bone marrow app was decadent with layered flavors, mussels/clams app was HUGE with no shortage of seafood, and entrees (sole and steak special) were perfectly cooked. Will definitely be back next time we're in Aspen!

Jean R.

Yelp
Kelly and Sarah were so great! They took such great care of me and I was just a one-top for drinks. Music was excellent, vibe is awesome, excellent decor and the service and hospitality from Sarah and Kelly was exceptional.
