The Monarch Room

The Monarch Room was a dream! Right in the heart of the Crossroads, this venue mixed modern, industrial design with cozy lighting and gorgeous downtown views out of the big windows. Megan, Heidi, and our bartender team were so kind and easy to work with. We chose the ceremony and reception package and the room flip was seamless. You get two getting ready suites, tables, chairs, linens, gorgeous lighting, and a staffed bar with your venue package which was a great deal for us. For photos, you can hop outside and have a stunning downtown KC backdrop, plenty of outdoor venue shots to choose from, and easy access to other KC landmarks like the Kauffman Center just a short drive away. A large portion of our guests traveled from out of town and didn’t have a rental car, so it was really convenient that our venue was close to several hotels and had easy streetcar access. There was also ample parking along McGee as well. Highly recommend this venue to anyone planning a downtown KC wedding!

I cannot say enough good things about The Monarch Room!!! We got married here in Dec 2024 and it could not have been more perfect. The space is beautiful, it’s open and customizable in so many ways, the staff were wonderful to work with the entire time we were planning and the day of (and even after), the pricing is reasonable and includes SO much, the list goes on and on. Megan & team - thank you so much! 10/10 recommend.

We had our both our wedding ceremony and reception at the Monarch Room on 6/14/25 and we are so happy with our choice to go with them! The size was perfect for our 130 guests and the large windows brought in so much natural light, it was stunning. We had a decent amount of out of town guests and the location was perfect for them. Megan was incredibly easy to work with and super responsive. We loved being able to bring in our own vendors. The only thing I was nervous about was the transition from ceremony to reception but Megan’s team executed it flawlessly and it was done so quickly. We actually joined our full cocktail hour so I saw the whole thing and was very happy with it. Overall, we thought the Monarch Room was a perfect choice and a great value. We’d pick them over and over again!

We had a great experience using the Monarch Room for our wedding/reception venue. The owner, Megan, is very easy to work with and was helpful with our planning process. Shout out for being one of the only venues in downtown KC with the option to BYOB! There is a required charge to use the venue’s bartenders, but still well worth it. Venue is beautiful and was easy to decorate. Also she allowed us to bring our dog (best boy in our wedding party) so he could celebrate with us as well! Wedding was a great time!

Meghan was an absolute joy to work with! From beginning to end, she always responded to my questions in a timely manner. The wedding venue is absolutely stunning, with a beautiful bridal suite and unlike many other venues, they also have a grooms suite. Look no further, this is the venue you need for your next big event!

We got married on a special holiday for Kansas City 8.16.2024 (816 Day) and couldn’t have choose a more perfect venue! The Monarch Room was everything we needed from the open bar package, open vendor, bridal and groom suite ( my husband loved his area and still talks about it lol) to make our wedding so memorable not only for ourselves, but the people that shared the love for us on our big day and that’s only some of the best part of The Monarch Room! I have guest still telling me how beautiful our wedding was and how they loved the venue. Megan and Heidi were amazing and we thank you so much for everything you helped us with! P.S. Heidi and the bartenders were a great help! The place is very nice and clean. The biggest problem is parking not ideal at all. One block away from a gas station that was not safe after dark. There were police posted on either end of the block watching. Overall, I would rent this event space if you don't have a lot of elderly

Absolutely Perfect venue ! And the owner Megan is AMAZING! From the moment of inquiry I had already made my mind up that I would use this venue to host a baby shower. Even before I had actually seen the space in person. Megan’s professionalism and warm , inviting spirit was the best part . She’s so easy to work with and instantly feels like I’ve known her for years. She was an invaluable asset to the entire baby shower, all my guests loved her just as much as I do ! In fact I’ve already booked my next event with her . She’s definitely my go to from now on. The best KC has to offer ! And don’t forget the location!

The drinks here are on par featuring the best alchemists this side of the Atlantic. The service is outstanding, the atmosphere is as dreamy as the cocktails and I've always had a memorable experience here.

Joe at the Monarch Room was a dream to work with. He's a great guy and made the process really fun. My only suggestion to him would be to not require that his clients work with Platinum KC for DJ services, or PM Bartending for bar services, both were less than impressive to work with. Joe wasn't on site the day of our event, but he had worked with us plenty leading up to the day of. I'm not sure the name of the person that was there, I think it was his son. My only concern/complaint/question is that I assumed the venue contact worked with the DJ to make sure the timeline ran smoothly. I'm not sure if the DJ didn't talk to him or what, but our cake didn't get rolled into the middle of the dance floor for cutting like we had talked about with Joe, so we ended up cutting our cake in the corner where hardly any guests could see us. Also, after the cake cutting, the table was supposed to get rolled over to be by our dessert table, and that didn't happen for almost an hour and only after I went to ask Kyle, the DJ, to get someone to do it. The cake never got cut and served to guests either. The location and decor of the venue are wonderful, and I really cannot have imagined a more perfect space for our wedding reception!
