"Three wise founders, all born in the year of the monkey, have thoughtfully designed this relaxed "gallery" with a minimalist, Japanese-influenced decor, in which the food takes centre stage. The result is a lovely ambience that is perfect for social gatherings. A concrete dining counter faces the open kitchen where the young kitchen team uses modern European cooking techniques. Pick from a selection of dishes for each of the four courses, then choose your drink pairing from the creative list of cocktails and mocktails." - Michelin Inspector

We visited from Japan for our first-ever family trip to Vietnam and chose this restaurant for our New Year's dinner. The "hidden gem" location built up our excitement from the moment we arrived. Every dish was exceptional, and the hospitality from the staff was top-notch—it was a truly wonderful experience from start to finish. Our family has dined all over the world, and we can confidently say this restaurant is among the very best. We will definitely return whenever we are back in Ho Chi Minh City. We are so grateful for such a happy and memorable start to the year. Thank you!

I love love love this place. And the monkeys!! Dare I say, favorite restaurant on Earth? I have tried 2 different magical ticket menus and both have been the 100/10 amazing meals and experiences. Most recently, I had the chi mo rua magical ticket menu served by the lovely Flora. Every single course was delicious, fun, and a new take on loved central Vietnamese ingredients and dishes. Atmosphere is quiet, super intimate, and I love the open kitchen where you can see the talented chefs hard at work. Service is 10/10 too. Shout out again to our lovely server Flora who was super friendly. We celebrated our anniversary here and got a little surprise at the end which was so cute. Absolutely amazing place and definitely worth the price. 100/100 no comments

I am writing to express my profound appreciation for The Monkey Gallery DINING, where I have had the pleasure of dining twice this week. Both experiences were nothing short of impressive. The restaurant's theme of blurring the lines between dining and art, built on innovativeness, truly stands out. During the same week, I also experienced the full tasting menus at AKUNA, ANAN, and Le Corto. However, The Monkey Gallery DINING emerged as my favorite restaurant, not just in Saigon, but across Vietnam, for several reasons: • Chef Hau Tran's Innovativeness and Technique: The culinary artistry and skill displayed by Chef Hau Tran were exceptional. • High-Quality Ingredients and Presentation: The ingredients, sourced from various regions in Vietnam, were of the highest quality and presented as edible art. • Consistency: The consistency across every course and on both occasions, despite different menus, was remarkable. • Personalised Experience: Chef Tran's ability to surprise and customize the menu once he became more familiar with my preferences was a delightful touch. • Outstanding Service: The gallery attendants, Tommy and Nguyen (I hope I remembered her name correctly), made a significant impact. Their genuine effort to understand guests and even suggest tea flavors from your impressive collection was truly appreciated. • Attention to Detail: Small acts of personalization, such as the welcome card on the table, demonstrated a commendable level of detail. • Down-to-Earth Team: The entire team, from the kitchen to the front of house, exuded a welcoming and unpretentious atmosphere, which is a refreshing change from some star-rated establishments. Having dined at numerous Michelin-starred restaurants, I can confidently say that The Monkey Gallery DINING unquestionably belongs among the best.

I went for the Vietnam Restaurant Week, and the tasting menu was excellent value. Pigeon and Wagyu tartare were the highlights. I also enjoyed the homemade longan sorbet and white basil sorbet. Great service by Tommy!

Creative fine dining at its best, excellent service by Flora, gorgeous glass in one of the nonalcoholic pairings! We found this place because we wanted to go to the desert bar but decided to try set menu dinner and I’m so glad we did! One of the best meals I’ve had on this 3 week trip!

Beautiful degustation menu with extensive selection of wines. We had matching wine pairings with our menu. Every course had distinct flavours showcasing memories of the chef’s childhood in Vietnam. Staff was kind and hospitable with great knowledge of products and food. We dined at the chef’s table observing plating and cooking of each course making it more immersive and sensory experience. We received a wonderful gift of loose tea which was delightful. Highly recommended as a chef and an admirer of fine dining.

Every year i come back to Vietnam i go to this restaurant and it have always held up to my expectations 1- most time I would not appreciate raw prawns but the combination of the grape and a slight hint of spice blended everything in perfectly 9.2/10 2- very nice texture and mouth feel, the broccolini have a good hint of smokiness but not too overpowering, the Brie was not too much and did not remain too long on the palette making a quick but hard to forget flavour 8.8/10 3- the steak tartare was in the shape of a perfect bite, the meat was not too chewy and had the perfect amount of fat to lean meat ratio, a toasted brioche for the base is a very clever idea that not many places have done and gives the dish a nice sweat on the tongue taste which gives way to the tentalising meat mountain faster which was a delightful experience not to mention the small hint of salted egg yolk that really elevated the dish in general 9.7/10 4- the scallops and home made ponzu was very refreshing and did not disappoint even though I’m not a big fan of raw seafood, a small takeaway from this dish was the lost of the scallop’s natural sweetness which separates itself from many other sweeter scallop ceviche that I’ve had. 7.5/10 5- the squid tentacles were cooked perfectly, it was not too chewy nor soft, the yuzu sauce was not too overly strong and blended with everything else perfectly the beans and pesto are truly the unsung hero of this dish, they elevate the texture of the dish into another level and at the same time doing little enough to just showcase the squid itself 8.5/10 6- the most surprising dish of this menu, a genius combination, the taste was heaven, the texture was intriguing and a dash of schezuan pepper in the sauce leaves a lasting impression. 9.2/10 could be hire rated if I’m being honest with myself but I haven’t had enough rabbit dishes to say for sure 7- the seaweed soup bring back a nostalgia from long forgotten times it’s nothing fancy but does scratch the nostalgia bug for people born near coastal areas or have travelled with loved ones to those certain places when young. 8.5/10 maybe another 0.2 points for nostalgia 8- the red mullet dish is a strong candidate for my top 10 best fish dish I’ve had this year, the fish was cook to perfection and the pan fried bed of greens on the bottom pared very well with each other and the truffle sauce really elevated the whole experience to another level 9.3/10 9- the star of the show have to be the lamb, one of the most melt in your mouth tender lamb I’ve had in maybe a year and a half, both the sauces worked soo well together I can’t even begin where to compliment it, there is sweet, there is spice, there is umami, the slight taste of bell pepper in my mouth feels like a delicious mirage that comes and go quickly leaving a fond memory behind.everything just feels like a delicious party in my mouth that i didn’t want to stop. 9.8/10 Using the rump of the lamb is even more spectacular for how they got it soo tender, strong contender for 9.9 rating 10- the salmon row and ginger course came out as a pasta dish which is a much welcomed surprise, the pasta was a bit too all dente for my liking but I digress, everything combined nice and there was no overly fishy taste which is definitely a plus. 8.6/10 11-the cilantro sorbet was like a punch to the mouth by itself, with the rice puffs and sauce on the bottom it becomes a bit more bearable but still feels like the back of my throat was assaulted with a strong kick of sourness and the cilantro aftertaste did not help the dishes case. 5/10 could be higher rated for people who likes sour and cilantro but it’s definitely not for me 12- any component of this dish alone would be quite underwhelming but together they create a symphony of taste in your mouth that makes you slow down and savour the moment. 8.2/10

The Monkey Gallery – where color becomes flavor, and dinner becomes art ✨ In the heart of Ho Chi Minh City lies a place beyond imagination – The Monkey Gallery. This is not just a restaurant. It’s a symphony of color, flavor, light and emotion. The tasting menu, built around colors, is a true feast for the senses. Every shade becomes a story, every dish an artwork. For me, the most breathtaking, soul-stirring colors were brown and yellow – brown with its deep, earthy richness, yellow with its bright, silky elegance. And then come the desserts and the lighting – entering an entirely new dimension of culinary experience. The sweets are not just delicious – they are dreamlike, theatrical, and unforgettable, made even more magical by the way light dances with the food. The Monkey Gallery doesn’t just serve food – it awakens something in you. Without a doubt, one of the most extraordinary dining experiences in the world.
