This place has gone down hill. I used to love going here but I leave disappointed every time I go now. They are always out of the waffle batter, they don’t use the cute decorations anymore and the staff is rude and make you feel like they don’t want to be there. Terrible experience and will never be going back.

Adam Morales

Google
No prices posted. Place is hot indoors. Ice cream is half melted already when served. Language barrier when ordering. Specifically asked for an order of 3 items. They didn’t understand that. 1st and last time here for these prices

Google
This place was so cute! I tried the ube and coconut gelato and they were creamy and really flavorfu. They have a decent assortment of toppings and I really enjoyed the durian coconut rolls on mine. They also had some really cute and kitschy Madeline’s. I went right before closing so mine was a little dry, but again it was right before closing. Can’t wait to try the bubble waffle next time.

We went here to try a new place after my birthday dinner. Unfortunately, a waste of time. Closed early with their sign stating 8pm on a Monday.

Google
Leaving 5 star review because I don't know what kind of star to rate but... They're closed on Sundays. They're supposed to be open at 2pm but it's 3pm and they're closed and 4 other people came by trying to open the door over the past few minutes. Seems like a super popular place today but I wonder why they'd be closed.

Google
My son said the chocolate was delightful. However, my cousin and I were not fans of the waffle cone. It literally tasted like egg. Gelato was good! Great customer service! But don't order the waffles.

Google
Took my kida for the first time today. It is a very cute place to go visit! The gelato was delicious and the stuff they offer is so adorable! Ther service is outstanding as well! I will definitely be taking my kids back there again. For the gelato of course, but more importantly the excellent service and great attitude!! Well done the moo!!

Google
Pretty store with really good gelato. Really like the coconut flavor here. They also have the coconut milk coffee and bubble waffle 😻

Yelp
2nd worst Gelato we've had this year. I wasn't expecting spectacular, but this is worse than the first time I made ice cream at home. Chocolate was chalky. Flavor was almost exactly like Chocolate Silk Soy milk but with a bizarrely gritty texture. The almond pistachio was ok, but overly sweet with not much flavor. Do better Moo... +1 star because the guy behind the counter was friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Was shopping in the area and saw this shop. First time seeing this shop so I thought I'd pop in for some Gelato. Walked in and the guy behind the counter looked over at me and then continued with what he was doing. Nobody else in the shop. I looked around for a minute, guy still not acknowledging me. Weird vibe ...so I just left. Not welcoming at all.

Yelp
This was a real nice dessert. Expensive for life cream, but that's life in HB. I had the Ube gelato and it was absolutely fantastic. My wife had a chocolate ice cream with the bubble waffle, and she seemed to like it enough. What surprised me was how delicious the raspberry sorbet was. My daughter's mini scoop was sweet with the right amount of tart cutting through. The kid working the counter was fun and lively. He seemed to have a great rapport with the customers, and it seemed very inviting. This is a place worth visiting again.

Yelp
1. The gelato is small but refreshing! The coffee taste in the Ube Iced Latte is strong! 2. The spot has fun casual vibes with an open area! 3. The staff was friendly, but the drink did took a while to prepare! Note: There is a 3.5% Additional Charge per order! Photo: Mermaidberry Cheesecake Gelato and Ube Iced Latte

Yelp
i like coming here for their bubble waffles! i've tried their sorbets too and the lychee raspberry is great. service is fast and there's usually no line. the hours on yelp are inaccurate though.

Yelp
I was not impressed here. I was expecting a much better expierence for what we got. The unicorn milkshake was only ok. The store was way too hot.

Yelp
Moo Gelatos - texture tastes like ice cream from a typical shop, I've had silkier/creamier gelato elsewhere - very cute presentation of both orders but the items were overpriced - parking was very open on Friday night around 9pm 1. Ferror rocher (3.8/5) - definitely has the small crunches of the candy, very chocolatey, lil too sweet for my preference 2. Ube (3.8/5) - there is the ube flavor but also a lot of coconut scent (personally not a fan of coconut unless it's the actual fruit), sweetness level is good 3. Cookie Monster (3.5/5) - again too sweet for my preference, not my favorite variation of Cookie Monster

Yelp
Walking into The Moo Gelato felt like stepping into a culinary twilight zone. With high hopes and an empty stomach, I was ready for a treat--or so I thought. First up, their 'Signature Porridge.' It's a signature alright, but not in the way you'd want to remember. For a steep $15, you get a dish so minuscule it makes you wonder if the chef is rationing rice for the apocalypse. I've had more satisfying samples at a grocery store. Now let's talk about the pork. If you've ever wondered what it'd smell like if a boar had an exceptionally bad day, this dish answers your query in the most unsettling way. You don't just need a strong stomach for this--you need a strong nose. But wait, there's more. This place has a sister restaurant--Uncle Long Sandwiches & Eats. It's as if the universe decided that one hub of culinary mediocrity wasn't enough. Trust me, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree; they're both equally disappointing. To round it all off, the prices are as steep as a pirate's plank--and you'll feel just as eager to jump off. It's the gastronomic equivalent of a treasure chest filled with rocks. In summary, The Moo Gelato isn't just a dining experience; it's a lesson in disappointment. Save your taste buds, save your wallet, and save your evening--steer clear of this culinary shipwreck.

Yelp
We stopped by for a quick pick me up before heading home. There was a small line formed inside but the wait wasn't too bad. We got the mango chamoy slushy drink was pretty good. The top had mango chunks and it was very sweet. The slushy wasn't overly sweet and was blended well. The chamoy paired well with the mango and the slushy. The staff here were super nice and there was plenty of seating area inside. They had food and other kinds of drinks there as well. Definitely a cute place to hangout and get some quick snacks.

Yelp
I give the gelato a 5 out of 5 because it's so yummy ! I love gelato and love trying new spots. I was disappointed with the fact that the guy working tonight grabbed money and then the waffle and don't wash his hands. His friend also came in and together were very loud. They place is super cute but the price is the highest price I've ever paid for gelato. Not sure if I'll be back.

Yelp
Was in the area and have been wanting to try the gelato here. It is a cute little gelato store. We were greeted right away and was very welcoming. I got a scoop of vietnamese coffee gelato. It was good, but I'm not sure if it was $6.00 good. I would have given it 3.5 stars but unable to.

Tracy D.

Yelp
*The food was ok, I bought the black chicken soup not that good. The soup tastes so sweet. It just like you eat desert.

Tung B.

Yelp
I'm confused. Is this an ice cream shop or a restaurant ? I see Ad with Chicken pho in TikTok, but Yelp mostly shows deserts ? Doesn't look like a serious restaurant !

Athena A.

Yelp
Loved the chocolate gelato and the coffee gelato! Not too sweet nor very rich! Place is very clean and neat.

Yelp
This is quiet literally the 10th time I have showed up to this stupid place and it has been CLOSED!! What is wrong with these people? Are they NEVER open? Their website always says a completely different time then what is actually their real hours. My last time giving this place a chance.
google avatar

Senia O.

Yelp
Upon walking in it was empty, but we where greeted with a Smile. We where given options to taste the gelato before buying, that's always a plus. The mango was good and so was the Vietnamese Coffee the cone wasn't sweet, which I threw away after 2 bites. My son's got 1 a scoop of the flavor they liked. Customer Service **** Gelato**** Noise level (quiet) w/over head music *** Cone **
google avatar

Lilee N.

Yelp
There are some exotic Asian flavors but also traditional ones to satisfy many palettes. The prices are reasonable so not sure why people think it's expensive. This is fresh made gelato. You can keep your gelato basic or make it extra with a jar or an egg waffle. If you have young kids the unicorn shake and unicorn flavors will impress. Nothing mind blowing but solid gelato.

Rachel L.

Yelp
I have been multiple times when they closed 10-15 minutes earlier than what their door sign states. Super frustrating when worker wave you away from the inside when they should be open according to their posted hours.
google avatar

Veronica T.

Yelp
My lychee freeze was icy and about 20% empty. Should buy smaller cups and bring down the price. Gelato felt weird. They even look a bit off. Icy but buttery? I think that's the word to describe it. One small scoop of gelato is pretty pricey but I was kind of glad there was only a little bit. The waffle was good but this is a gelato place so... The place is cute but uncomfortably awkward. The worker was just in a corner playing with her phone. She alsolooked so annoyed when I asked to sample. In response to the owner: Hello Stefanie, I believe that you may have mistaken me for another customer, because the night I visited there was only one sales associate who did not provide much info, no manager on site, unless she was the manager on site. The accuracy of my review is based on my OPINION, that is why I wrote "I think," "kind of," "a bit." Therefore, my response should be taken with a critical eye, just like any piece of writing. Btw I did NOT get a scoop of gelato for FREE.

Kurt V.

Yelp
First time here. There were 6 of us so we ended up getting 6 scoops. The gelato tasted great. The server that helped us was very patient and friendly as there were 6 of us and our children spent time sampling the flavors before buying. The price however was a bit high for a single scoop. But other than that it was great

Amy T.

Yelp
Slowest service and very expensive Gelato! Only have one worker when you go in. Seems like such a long process to get ice cream. One scoop for $6 is too expensive.

Yelp
I'll give 'em this... they know how to make folks try their establishment out. Unicorn and Mermaid gelato?!? That got me in the door, with my wife and daughter in tow. We opted for a double scoop, puffwaffle cone with cookies and cream and mermaid gelato - with a unicorn topper. Then, I also ordered a triple scoop in a cup - just to try some other flavors and because I'm the boring one in the family. My kiddo dug into the Mermaid/Unicorn creation with my wife while I sampled dark chocolate, Whiskey Caramel, and S'mores flavors. All very strong choices. I would recommend any of them. The Mermaid flavor is - sort of Birthday Cake-y, I guess. All very smooth and creamy - good stuff. Our tab for the two items we ordered came to just under $19. Pricey, for sure. But, you know, it makes a heckuva good Instagram photo. We might be back - but this might be one of those one and done experiences since we live about 20 miles away.

Yelp
My friend and I came here after getting milk tea nearby. I had a waffle cone and ice cream, with Oreo cookie toppings. We both ordered our own macaroons and they were put in such a cute baggie. I couldn't help but notice the durian smell, which was quite overpowering. But it smelled good and was quite tempting. It was just very expensive. We ate away at the bubble cone, which was vegan friendly, and then the ice cream was flavorful and yummy. And the macaroons, well, they were tasty and not overly priced! I enjoyed it and found the young lady working the front counter to be friendly!
google avatar

Yelp
Service was great. Place is very clean. They have freshly made waffle cones ... they actually make the waffle cone fresh to order.
google avatar

Yelp
I love chamangos/ mangonadas and this place got me here with their advertising of it! BUT when I got here i was so intrigued with their unicorn ice cream flavor and the cute decorations for it. I had to get it! I got the unicorn flavor and its really good. I can't describe it but you have to get it. I got it in a cone with a cute mermaid chocolate tail to top it off with sprinkles. The whole shaabang with that, too cute to eat! Definitely coming back for the Chamango!
google avatar

Nijole T.

Yelp
Delicious, but I feel way too expensive. My raspberry lychee ice cream was very good, my husband loved his caramel popcorn as well. All the add ons are really not worth it and add up quickly. Extra for the waffle cone, even more for the cereal coated one and more again for the puffy cone. Unicorn or mermaid? Another dollar....for a tiny piece of shaped chocolate.... Service is nice, but not very helpful, it is confusing and takes way too long. Store is super cute, the ice cream delicious, but don't fall for the hype with all the extras, unless you really care about a cute picture it's not worth it, the ice cream stands out on it's own. Worth checking out.

Yelp
First time and it was a great experience. Tasted 4 gelato and felt the Vietnamese Coffee was great for a single scoop in a cone. Cone costs start at $1 with one scoop at $3.95. Totaling $5.32 for a single scoop. I think it's a bit pricy, but hey it's Orange County and IN Huntington Beach. The taste of each was pretty tasty, but the Vietnamese Coffee won out due to it's rich flavor compared to the others. Staff were great smiling and greeting me as I walked in. Taste sampling was easy and they were glad to assist. I only wish they would have assisted 1st timers more in making decisions. I was not the only one in our large party who felt "taken" with the cone being $1 because you can barely see the price ON THE WINDOW in front of the cones (it should have been ON THE MAIN BOARD on the wall). I feel this is management's fault in assuming customers will see this and know. NOT! I am a fan, so if I am in the area, I would return. However, I would not go out of my way to come up from Irvine just for it. Recommend for first timers.

Yelp
Delicious gelatos. Tasted very fresh. I got Vietnamese coffee and Ube. My daughter got avocado and mango. They even have vegan options!

Yelp
We came on a Sunday evening so it wasn't very busy. It's in the shopping center where a hobby lobby and Wendy's is at. There's probably 12 flavors of gelato to choose from with one or two of them being sorbet. I can't handle milk products that well so I usually like to get sorbet and the sorbet was really tasty, but it did not agree with me so I don't really know what it was made out of because it was a different texture than regular sorbet so I wonder if there was milk product in it. The staff was friendly though and you can do all kinds of shakes and stuff like that.

Yelp
This place has a nice decoration, bright and clean. I was really impressive by how friendly and helpful the staff was. He asked if we would like to try any sample of the flavors. Then I decided to have a Vanilla Unicorn flavor because of the pretty color of pink and baby blue. One plus, it did not taste too sweet as its look. It took slightly about 30 mins for the egg waffle machine to warm up because we came early in the morning, but it was worth waiting for this famous treat. There were 3 flavors of the Hong Kong style egg waffle: original, chocolate, and matcha. I chose the original one. When the egg waffle was nearly done, there was an amazing smell of egg and milk. Then, my Vanilla Unicorn in a bubble wrap came in the shape. It was so photogenic that every dreamers would love to take lots of pictures. The gelato was beyond my expectation by keeping its solid form for a long time although it was placed on a warm waffle. I really liked the creamy and milky taste of this flavor. Gelato and egg waffle made a good pair together! I was totally in love with this combination. The egg waffle was crispy on the outside and soft inside. In addition, the unicorn horn and ears tasted like they were made from egg whites, just like the base of macarons, then they were decorated with edible yellow sparkles. Overall, I can see the effort that the owners and the staff made. Nice place to try out if you love flavorful gelato, sweet treat, and cozy place to gather together. I will definitely come back to try other flavors.

Yelp
Food and drinks are pretty good. Durian ice cream is my favorite. Durian coffee is above average but $15 is too expensive. Frog porridge is good too. Overall everything is good but kinda overpriced, I can find same quality of food and drink somewhere else and cheaper.

Yelp
I was so excited to finally try this place out yesterday, and even more excited that they were open late during these crazy times. A cute gelato shop that has some sorbets too. I tried a few samples before deciding on the cookie monster gelato. All of the samples I tried were amazing! (I mean they have an avacado flavor!) They do charge for their toppings-.50c The lady that rang me up was super sweet and helpful. She even gave me an extra stamp punch on their rewards card, for my 1st visit! I can't wait to go back and try more of their creamy delicious flavors. Maybe even try a unicorn decor cone!
google avatar

Raychel R.

Yelp
What a great place for a sweet treat. I randomly came upon this place while driving around HB. I thought the name was cute and decided to poke my head in to see what they offered. The staff member was very nice and she took her time to explain the different options to choose from and to offer me samples. I went with the green tea bubble waffle, 1 scoop of the Mermaid Berry Cheesecake, 1 scoop of the Raspberry Lychee and coconut wafers as my topping. The Berry Cheesecake tasted amazing and I would come back solely for this flavor. This place is pricey for what you get. I think my total was $11. But it's a once in a blue moon occasion.

Yelp
《 GELATO CREATIONS 》 Cute toppings. Unique Flavors. Beautiful decor. Perfect location for all ice cream lovers, IG foodie, and basically everyone! Left: : Unicorn Vanilla with Vietnamese Coffee gelato in a cone with mermaid tail and unicorn topping ($8.99) RIght: Musang Durian Gelato ($26 for 3 scoops) Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Yelp
Right off the bat, I want to say this place is suppppppeerr yummy! Egg waffles/bubble waffles are what drew us in. We had been watching their posts on Instagram for a while and it was like, ok... we need to try this place! Their waffles come in three flavors. Orginal, chocolate, and green tea. We tried the orginal and chocolate. Both yummy. They had over 20 flavors of gelato to choose from. Vegan choices too. The reason I give this place three stars vs four is the way we were treated on our second visit. The establishment closes at 10, we were there just before 8pm. We ate in, had some icecream and waffles... and around roughly 8:20 my friend wanted to get a shake to go. He went up to the counter and the two girls nicely told him they were breaking down the machines to clean for the night. We thought it was a little odd as there was still over an hour until closing. But it was fine. He sat back down to wait whilst I finished mine. No big deal.... but then during this time... 4 different groups of customers came in. Two of which ordered shakes. Without hesitation, they fulfilled their orders. We just sat there shocked. Why didn't those customers get told the shakes were done for the day? REALLY disappointed. On a side note, they do have a sign up that reads "no more waffles served 20 minutes before closing". Totally fair. I get it. But NOTHING about the shakes. And again, this was roughly 8:20, they close at 10pm and went on to make shakes for other customers.

Yelp
Locate in a quiet place is this hidden gem. Musang King durian gelato was amazing. Avocado was good as well.

Yelp
This is thier unicorn drink presentation fail. Payed for a unicorn got and regular horse. Nothing special don't belive the hype they, must have lost thier magic, tasted like any other Gelato spot.

Annabel S.

Yelp
The lady was so nice. I got the bubble wrap matcha waffle with tiramisu ice cream & it was so good .
google avatar

Azucena P.

Yelp
The customer service was good. The 'gelato' was not. I've had my fair share of ice cream and gelato and this place does not serve gelato. It's over priced ice cream. While it's decent and had good flavor, it's not worth the price. I got the tiramisu and the coffee with rainbow sprinkles and unicorn horn. The unicorn horn was stale. Pretty but again not worth the price.
google avatar

Yonnie C.

Yelp
We stopped by here on accident and ordered a unicorn gelato in a egg waffle cone! Coconut taro scoop of gelato & matcha green tea egg waffle - both were delicious! Unicorn toppings too! Free topping with yelp check in!
google avatar

Karrie C.

Yelp
Unique cones, cheerful staff, and quality flavors. The egg waffle cone was tasty and the gelato was just the right smooth and sweet combo. We had coconut, Cookie Monster, and s'mores flavors. The coconut had shredded bits and the s'mores had toasty mallow on top, adding delicious texture and flavor to each. We didn't try the other desserts, but the cupcakes were super adorable.
google avatar

KyHa V.

Yelp
Sampled tiramisu and cookies n cream and both were so bland. Cookies n cream tasted like whipped cream with some cookie bits. Tiramisu was...unrecognizable. Boyfriend ordered the chamango. .....the tamarind straw is an extra $1.25. Whut. So total would have been 6 or 7 bucks.... Anyway, the chamango is made with mango gelato and some ice cubes. The drink melted so quickly! And it was NOT good at all. Bland and not tangy at all.
google avatar

Leslie S.

Yelp
This place is pretty cute, along with it's unicorn theme and aesthetics. But I can't give them much credit to anything else. They are mostly an ice cream/gelato place, they have a limited selection of other desserts (ie. a few cupcakes). They also have a fair amount of gelato flavors available, but nothing really stood out to me. Some of the flavors were "cookie monster", chocolate, strawberry, smores, and your other average stuff. The vanilla unicorn only stood out to me because of the rainbow colors. I was informed that it's supposed to taste like cake batter or dough, but I didn't get that at all. I had a single scoop in a cone with unicorn decorations. For around $7, this cone was underwhelming and the decorations unpleasantly tasted like chalk. The Moo Gelato does little to differentiate themselves from other ice cream places. Maybe I should not have gotten a "basic" flavor like vanilla, but I felt compelled to do so because nothing else looked appetizing. They may be too focused on creating gimmicks and insta-worthy posts. Instead, they could be improving their desserts' quality and offering a wider, diverse selection of gelato flavors.
google avatar

Kat J.

Yelp
We enjoyed everything we got. The staff was friendly and helpful and super fast. The bubble cones take a little longer because they are made fresh. They were worth the wait though! We will be back for sure!
google avatar

Yelp
Yummmmmmmmy!! We can here after my daughters bday party. There were about 9 of us! Everything we tasted was good! Of course all of the girls wanted the unicorn shake/ice cream cone! Their cookie butter ice cream is to DIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEE for!!! The inside is sort of small so you cannot get a huge party inside to sit.
google avatar

Yelp
[During COVID-19 pandemic review for takeout only!] Moo Gelato is a great little shop selling a wide variety of gelato! Their gelato is well-made and tastes more like creamy ice cream than typical gelato. They're popular for their durian gelato. When we arrived, they only had the durian ice cream in 24 oz. containers. These were pre-packed in a separate freezer. I also got one scoop of their avocado gelato to-go. I shared all this with my better half and my parents. :) Everyone immensely enjoyed both flavors!!! The durian gelato was rich in durian flavor, creamy, and simply a wonderful goodness (especially if you enjoy this exotic fruit's flavor). It didn't taste artificial and tasted like eating the Malaysian durian -- the real deal! The avocado was so unique. I taste profile reminded me of an avocado smoothie -- creamy and buttery with a subtle taste of avocado. Yum! Overall, both flavors were so delectable. I would definitely come here again to try other flavors, if not, buy the same ones again! :D Service was quick and friendly!

Yelp
If you like to be ignored and wait for someone to be summoned from the back while being ignored my 2 Asian ladies this is the place for you!

Yelp
I got the soup with black chicken and abalone it costs $55.00 for a bowl which they told me can serve 2 people! Which is not . Way too expensive for what they have in the soup 2 slice of sea cucumber half of black chicken 1 whole abalone the main thing make me complains is the soup taste sweet doesn't Taste like an expensive herb soup that I had try from other places . Definitely not recommended Very regret
