My husband & I visited San Fran for the 1st time back in May. We booked the Mosser because of its close location to shopping & transportation, and because my husband likes 'boutique hotels'. The staff was very helpful & friendly. Our room was a bit small, mainly due to how old the building is, but very clean & cozy, sufficient for our 5-day stay. The Harlequin Restaurant is right next door, with Trader Joe's only a couple buildings away. Very convenient. This hotel does serve complimentary coffee in the mornings; however, what I think would make one's stay a lot better is to add a continental breakfast, as well (muffins, fruit, etc). All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the Mosser & yes, we would go back.☺️

Google
I stayed at the Mosser for about 4 days and all in all was a very pleasant experience. The shared shower room was very cleaned and completely comfortable the shared bathroom was so small it was hard to get inside of. Eventually we saw a bug in the singles room (not the kind from an infestation) but thankfully the staff was kind and upgraded us for free. The staff was kind, thoughtful, and helpful. Despite the little problems it was a very good experience and I would definitely stay there again.

Google
Heads up to the hotel that I'm posting under a different last name than when I stayed. Regardless, I think some of these reviews are quite unfair. Remember at the bottom of it all: You get what you pay for. This hotel is inexpensive and serves at a good location. The rooms are passable and things are definitely within the standard range for the price. For people complaining about noise and quality of rooms: You are paying for a downtown hotel in one of the most expensive cities in the US for (at least what I paid) about 100 bucks. For the price it is definitely a good option, especially if you won't be there and just sorta need a "home base". Staff was professional and courteous but not really anything more than that. Street noise is to be expected because its a busy area, and even expensive hotels suffer from similar problems. So I say, give it a shot. Worst case you check out early and find somewhere else.

Google
We got a room with a shared bathroom, so that wasn't the most comfortable. But the room itself was nice, good heating and cooling as needed, the bed was really great. It was so quiet I doubted there were more people there even though they were completely booked

Google
Stayed here during a work conference due to its proximity to the location. Rooms are ok. Very musty smell, small. The fan was nice but no AC. Major gripe is the noise. It’s so loud. The windows to the road outside may as well not exist. Bring earplugs.

Google
The Mosser Hotel is an absolute gem in San Francisco! The price was so good I had to double-check I wasn’t accidentally booking a broom closet—but nope, it was a real hotel and in a prime location! You can walk to Ross, Macy’s, Target, the train, buses, and basically everywhere you’d want to go (including back to Ross if you spent too much). The rooms? Spotless. I tried both the ensuite and the shared bathroom—both so clean you’d think someone’s grandma was scrubbing them daily. Front desk staff? Super friendly and helpful—like having your own San Francisco tour guides who also hand you your room key. Why blow your money on a 5-star hotel when you can stay here, sleep comfortably, and keep your wallet fat for food and attractions (which, let’s be honest, are what really drain the bank in SF)? I’ll definitely be back—this place is proof that you don’t need five stars when you’ve already found the ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ perfect spot.

Google
Cute older Hotel. Smaller rooms but still cozy. Nice robes are provided. Beds are pretty comfy. Offers laundry machines 24/7, hot & cold water dispenser and vending machine.

Google
Location: ++++ Service was good — the staff were kind enough to let us keep our luggage till late. The washrooms were clean, and overall, you really can’t expect more at this price point. I’d definitely consider staying here again.

Yelp
Good value. Pleasant staff. Old Euro style hotel close to the Powell street bart line on Market MOSSER HOTEL. SFO 54 4th St San Francisco, CA 94103 United States +1 (415) 986-4400 Lito & other front desk staff are super nice. Better to book directly with them if you can. Then you can modify or cancel dates as needed. You have the choice of a shared bathroom (cheaper) or in room bathroom for slightly more. I'm so glad I got it in room. The compact cozy room makes good use of space. There is a desk & chair. There are plenty of electrical outlets. There is no microwave or refrigerator. The tv is good but if remote control doesn't work well ask to replace. Room lighting is good. The wash basin is in a corner of the room. This is convenient. The bathroom is tiled and the shower has safety grab bars. The shower is adequate but a little low on pressure. There are dispensers with liquid soap & shampoo . Hold them down to make them work. I didn't care for the brand /smell. Suggest you bring your own. Ice is available on floors 2 & 5 - get ice bucket from front desk Coffee & tea available in lobby. Coffee is not good. Suggest you make your own or get at a coffee shop. I ran out of towels & toilet paper - I went to front desk to get replenished. You have the choice of NO room service which I prefer. I just got it when I needed it. There's only 1 elevator - so allow time to get down. Floorings are worn. It would be nicer & cleaner to have fake wood or tile throughout Trader Joe's is next door. Very convenient City Tax      :  16.50% Check-In      :  3:00 PM Check-Out     :  11:00 AM

Yelp
The price was good and the Mosser met - or exceeded - my expectations. The location was great for me - close to BART and close to the places I needed to go. There are plenty of food options nearby, and a Trader Joe's a few doors down. The bed was comfortable. The size of the room was fine. The clerks at the front desk were professional and friendly enough, and the building is old and has a faded charm. Were there any negatives? Sure. The walls were a little thin - at some point, someone slammed a door, which I could hear. And a couple times during the night, I could hear the person in the room above me stomping around loudly. Also at some point in the middle of the night, there was a loud crash on the street - some sort of car accident maybe - but the hotel is in the middle of the city, so city noises should be expected. The shower pressure was pretty weak. The room was clean, but it could probably be cleaner. The blinds didn't do a great job of blocking out the morning light. On the other hand, the room got good light. The glass shelf over the sink is a menace. Its presence makes it difficult and slightly dangerous to rinse after brushing your teeth. (I hit my head on the shelf, but not hard enough to do any damage.) Would I stay here again? Yes. If I needed to be in this area and if the price was right.

Yelp
I wish I could leave 0 stars! This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in! I would have stayed in a card board box on the sidewalk instead! The was old poop stains on the toilet from the previous guess! It looked like a college dorm room. The hot water didn't work in the morning the first night. I got there very late Friday. And Saturday night/Sunday morning. The heater which looked like a radiator that was never touched stated to sound like it was going to blow up and began to leak all night. Front desk was very unhelpful and rude! Stay in your car if you have to!
google avatar

Abby R.

Yelp
You're getting exactly what you are expecting! Yes the room is small, but it's perfect for out and about folks who are just coming back to sleep. The shared bathroom and shower was a worry of mine, but it turned out just fine no problem. The area is just fine, right in between many bus stops, the diner just around the block was great for a last minute late night eat! My partner and I both agreed we wouldn't have a problem staying here again.

Steven B.

Yelp
tiny room, no AC, had to have the window open and the crazy noise from the street kept me up all night + a huge bite on my back from a bed bug! I will never stay here again!
google avatar

Yelp
If I could rate zero I would. This hotel is nothing like the pictures, was not aware of how poor the amenities were here. The building is very old. I stepped in this hotel room for 10 minutes and I immediately wanted a refund. The front desk, Eddie, is very rude and not professional. I asked for the manager and he said he cannot get him or or do anything about it. Dude should find a better job if he doesn't like it here.
google avatar

Kevin M.

Yelp
This is a solid budget hotel. Excellent if you're traveling alone. Rooms are small, and it's a very old building, but that gives it charm. Clean and comfy, but be aware that this is a very noisy part of town.
google avatar

Ashley A.

Yelp
This hotel has bed bugs. They gave us a refund. Better than nothing but still disgusting. Do not stay here.
google avatar

Jonathan H.

Yelp
Clean, older hotel. Definitely budget, but great location and that counts for a lot - you don't go to San Francisco to hang out in your hotel room, right - with lots of essential stuff in a one block radius. Dropped a star for no AC, and heat is traditional hot steam radiator, does ok but not modern climate control. Bathroom mirror is useless if you're under 5'7". Other stuff: Bed is firm and comfortable, lots of good pillows; iron and ironing board in the closet; great water pressure, good hot water. Get a #19 room to be on the corner! So - this is a great bargain if you're not looking for a premium hotel experience.

Niall A.

Yelp
Clean, solid leather cation, across the street from the Marriott. Took advantage of a last minute deal. Hotel is kept up. Relatively clean part of SF. Rooms are small, but good enough for a night. If you're a big person (I'm not), you might get lodged in the bathroom. I'd stay here again.
google avatar

Elijah C.

Yelp
I had to book for a night due to working a clopening shift in the city. I went with the deluxe room and it was a lot smaller than I expected. The sink was in the corner of the bedroom instead of the bathroom which is a bit peculiar. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable, the TV had some decent channels, basic toiletries, an alarm clock, towels, bathrobes, an iron/ironing board, a ceiling fan, and some hangars for pre-planned outfits. The check-in & check-out process was pretty easy too. It's okay if it's a short-term visit or with 1 or 2 people.
google avatar

Franka R.

Yelp
For the price it's decent. Just be aware that the rooms are tiny, the shower has no water pressure and everything is old and doesn't feel 100% clean. Their reception staff is nice but might be on a personal FaceTime call with their family while dealing with you which was kinda rude. But you get what you pay for

Yelp
Yousef was great (he worked in the front) and was very welcoming. The hotel was convenient and clean, if you read this Yousef, thanks the great check in and check out process as well as the stay.

Yelp
BEDBUGS in our room. One was moving on my pillow, killed it and searched the beds for more. Found another one on the wall, grabbed our stuff and left.

Yelp
The Mosser is one of those hidden gems that locals and those traveling abroad and visit appreciate greatly. Albeit not comparable to your Four Seasons hotel, The Marriott across the street or the Hotel Nikko, what it is, is a comfortable, clean, quaint hotel offering some very inexpensive rates considering it's prime location, alone. Additionally though, the guest rooms are intimate, charming and understated offering guest rooms-with and without private bath. Renovated several years ago, it's being maintained well. There used to be a great restaurant and bar called Annabelle's Bar & Bistro, it was so good! After several years their was a refresh and renamed the bistro, The Keystone. it was crowded, often, especially during happy hour over the Annabel's era. Then the refreshed Keystone was closed during pandemic and has remained closed as of late. Hopefully it will come back soon, great food and a nice wine list, offering some of Napa and Sonomas best variants and included other creative libations, makes a stay here at the Mosser, even that much more special. The staff was also terrific, a special thanks to the wonderful Janice Lee Villanueva and the Mosser management for accommodating me during my moving transition! Thanks! M.Aranda

Yelp
I had a Wonderful Stay at this hotel. It is right near Market St. in the central main core in downtown. It's in the center of it all. My room was the Deluxe Queen Room which has a private bath on the 3rd floor. Public washrooms or shared was on the 2nd floor had separated from males and females. The hotel was quiet well my floor at least. I did see a lot of ppl check in and out on weekends. The hotel main entrance has a security feature where it is locked at all times you need to tap key card for entry or ring door bell. The staff here was excellent service. Also allowed me to leave luggage here for later pickup. The area was perfect ur right next to westfieldmall and all shopping around you. A+ STAY IN MY BOOKS!
google avatar

Yelp
The "Deluxe Room" might be a bit of an overstatement. The room was TINY with the sink located in the corner. The shower itself was small, and could be considered a bit claustrophobic for some. And the overall cleanliness of the room was sorta questionable. There was a good amount of glitter between the bed frame and the mattress and there was some (nose?) hair clippings near the sink that kind of grossed me out. I read that some people posted about there being juice and muffins in the lobby area, but I didn't see anything. Also, this is completely my fault for not researching this place, but there is no AC! FYI, about a 20 minute walk from the Cal Train station.

Yelp
Location, location, location... doesn't cover all sins. We stayed here because of its proximity to the Moscone Center, but it was not good. I don't mind that the rooms are small, the walls are paper thin, or the elevator is slow - I understand the hazards of boutique hotels in San Francisco. We got two rooms and they both were full of mold and mildew. The sinks being in the room (over carpet) instead of the bathroom is not the only cause of this problem, because there is mold in the showers as well. Definitely avoid if you have a mold allergy, or a sense of smell.

A A.

Yelp
The Mosser is a mid-tier, no-frills hotel in a good location. I would recommend this hotel but only with caveats. Location: Excellent location in a decent area, especially if you're going to an event at the Moscone Center. About a 3-7 minute walk from Moscone. Also just a couple minute from Trader Joe's and Target, so you can buy meals and snacks instead of relying on overpriced convention food. Just a couple minutes from BART and right next to lots of bus lines. Staff: Very kind and accommodating. No complaints here. Amenities: Limited, which is not necessarily a bad thing depending on what you're looking for. Rooms are compact. No fridge in room, but there are an iron and ironing board. Bathroom sink is very small. Coffee and tea are provided in the morning. Overall I liked the balance of amenities - just right, no fuss, efficient. Rooms need more outlets. My room did not have nightstand outlets. I had to plug my phone charger in behind the headrest. Not a dealbreaker, but a small annoyance among many. Tissue paper was 1-ply. This is probably not the hotel's fault and rather due to old plumbing. Ambience: This is one of the things I disliked about the Mosser. The lobby and stairways are actually quite lovely in terms of architecture, but they desperately need updating. Carpets are shabby and the entire place feels dingy. Furniture in rooms doesn't seem to have a cohesive design; it's functional, but feels old and worn. The bedside reading lights are dim. The overhead fan/light switch wall panel is old and the labels were rubbed off. The tub had various cracks and scratches. These small touches seem insignificant individually, but they add up to create a depressing feel. Noise: An issue, enough to bother me. Room walls are very thin and I could clearly hear the couple next door having what seemed like a totally normal conversation. People in the hallway sounded so clear, it was like they were in the room. It's also in a bustling part of town, so you will hear street noise, buskers, etc. Cleanliness: My #1 contention. This entire hotel feels like it needs a deep clean. I felt I could not trust the cleanliness of any surface here. Carpets are dingy and need shampooing. The radiator in the room was caked in grime. Little remnants of the previous guest weren't cleaned - a shaver cover in the bathroom, a hair in the tub. Not enough to complain to the front desk, but enough to make things uncomfortable. The chairs downstairs in the louge/morning coffee room all had bits of debris on them, even first thing in the morning. Little corners in the room and bathroom, the area around light fixtures, etc had bits of dark grime. Bathroom shelving had smudges and dust. The bed was clean, though. Parking: I did not park here (why would you?). Overall, I had a decent stay here, but it did not meet my expectations for cleanliness. This, combined with the ambience, made me feel it was overpriced. The location was excellent, though. I do not think I will stay here again, but I can recommend this hotel as long as you understand these important concerns.

Rich H.

Yelp
Stayed here this past Saturday and was not able to sleep at all. The walls were paper thin and I think a prostitute was arguing with a man next door for the entire night. Constant slamming of their doors, yelling, locking each other out, banging to be let in... I finally called the front desk at around 2am to complain but they didn't do anything. If you want to be able to sleep spend a little more somewhere else.

Steffi K.

Yelp
Poor advertisement. You have to share a bathroom AND a shower that's maybe 5 square feet. Barely enough room for a bed and walking space. Online said that the rooms are super spacious but there is no room for anything.
google avatar

Joe M.

Yelp
A Hostel more than a hotel. Was charged $250+$133 tax and fees for this hotel room the size of my college dorm. The website photos make this place seem more grand than it is. There's bathrooms and showers in the hall making us worry that we wouldn't have one in the room. We did and it was tiny which is fine but we also had water leak through the ceiling from who knows what. Neighborhood also sketchy. They keep the outside door locked and you have to get the attendant to let you in for check in.
google avatar

Tara F.

Yelp
This cute Victorian was a really nice comfortable stay. Parking isn't ideal, you have to pay for over night parking at the garage next door and the guy running it wasn't professional. Made the start of the stay a little sketchy. But the woman at front concierge was so nice and helpful! The room was very clean but small. And the shower was tiny I felt claustrophobic. We slept very well as it was a very quiet 3rd floor. Would stay again if the showers weren't so small. Cheers!

Yelp
My check-in experience was super strange. The lady at the counter told me to wait because they were changing shifts or something, but then I didn't see anyone change. She asked me to sit on the bench near the counter, which I did, and I waited for about five minutes before she told me she could help me. I was really confused by all of this. I was given a key and then I headed up the elevators, and the room I had was really small. It had a bed and a bathroom, but the sink wasn't inside the bathroom; it was in the main part of the room where the bed was and in the corner. The toilet and shower were in the bathroom and it was really tiny too. I guess that's SF for you!

Yelp
Stayed here on a rainy Thursday night in October, after the summer vacation crowds had mostly taken off. We're East Bay locals, but haven't stayed in the city very often - looking for a place near SOMA, we were a little blown away with how expensive and/or crappy many of the hotels in the area are. The Mosser seemed like a safe choice, and it's one I would definitely make in the future! If you're used to staying at the Marriott or renting penthouse suites in Vegas, the size of the rooms are going to come as a bit of a shock. If you've stayed in hotels in Times Square, you probably get the idea. Itsy-bitsy dollhouse spaces that easily compete with the concept rooms at IKEA. What I'll say about The Mosser is that they're making fantastic use of these very-little spaces. The 2 of us were very comfortable and were able to iron our clothes, watch TV, hop on wi-fi, hang up our stuff, etc. They've tucked all the creature comforts you'd need into every nook and cranny of the place, and the room was very, very *clean*. I don't know about prior reviews bemoaning bedbugs, but it looked like our mattress and bedding was brand new. Carpets were pristine. There's a storage drawer under the bed, and they even have robes hanging in the bathroom. Double-double-paned windows (that's right, 2 sets of em') keep out all of the ambient city noise so you can get some sleep. Some early-risers made some noise stomping around in the morning, and the one elevator is always on the floor you aren't, but the coffee and muffins in the morning were a pleasant start to the day, and the location really can't be beat - you're right across the street from the Metreon, and 50 ft. from Powell St. BART (and the start of the cable-car line). Whether you're in the area for a staycation or an actual getaway, check this place out. It's a safe bet!

Yelp
Even though I technically live close to the city, traffic can turn what should be an hour drive into a 2.5 to 3 hour ordeal. Sometimes it's nice to spend the night in town without that stress or worry. I can also stay up a bit later and even have a cocktail that way. I've been doing this for years, and it's allowed me to try a decent number of the local hotels. I had been curious about the Mosser, especially considering it's convenient location. When I read up, I saw the words "shared bathrooms" and decided to pass. Still, I kept wondering. On my latest overnight, I decide to give them a go. We went with one of the twin rooms (I took my Mom along this time), partially because of of the great rate and partially because it had its own bathroom. The room was tiny, but quite cozy. If I had a kid with me, or was sharing for work, this would have been a no go, but for me and Mom, it was just fine. The beds were very comfortable and the hotel was quiet (at least after 10 pm - more on that below). The staff was quite friendly, and the location was exceptionally convenient (close to BART, parking, entertainment, restaurants, etc....). BTW, the picketers were there. Across the street, NOT at this hotel. It was a bit annoying, but didn't really interfere with what we were doing. You kind of have to expect some street noise. It is a city after all. The hotel also thoughtfully provided ear plugs. If you just want a soft place to lay your head and someplace safe to keep your stuff while you explore, the Mosser might be for you. As hotel prices continue to creep up, affordability is a consideration. A night or two some place like this is just fine. I will take the $100+ I saved and direct it to a nice dinner somewhere.

Yelp
This is, as most people say a no frills hotel. What's different about it is that you also need to use a key to go into the front of the hotel. Other hotels usually have security that opens the door. It's in a nice location, which is why I chose it: near Ross, downtown, and a variety of shopping spaces and the Westfield mall. I was able to get to many of the restaurants I wanted to try out there by walking. While they did have makeup remover and soaps, they did not have toothbrush, so I had to walk to the nearby CVS for that. The chair kind of hurt my back sitting on it, but there is a small space for working with your laptop. There's a discount if you stay here for more than 4 or 5 days.

Yelp
Great hotel for solo or couples who don't need a lot of over the top extras. The Staff was super helpful, especially when I accidently booked a room for Saturday and Sunday (this past weekend) instead of Friday and Saturday. The staff was able to handle the problem and changed the reservation for the right nights, with no extra charges. They always made sure go greet me every time I came and left. The location is Great. a half of a block from Market street - a major street in SF & around the corner (3 - 5 min walk) from the metro/Bart. Many places to eat within a block and a half. Rooms are a little small, but hey, your in SF, your not going to stay in your room the whole time. Also a big plus, they are LGBTQ+ friendly.

Yelp
While the only downside is the shared shower and bathroom, this hotel was a great deal. I purchased a deal through Groupon. The room was small, with room for a bed and luggage, and had a closet and a sink. The hotel was warm so there was a fan and ample lighting in the room. The shared shower and bathroom was not a big deal, as you would rarely run into someone else wanting to use it at the same time, and the staff does a great job keeping it clean. The gross part is the individual restroom; it was a small room with just the toilet and hand sanitizer, so you would have to wipe with one hand and use the other hand to exit and get your key card to get into your room to wash your hands. Check in/out was very easy and there were complimentary coffee and muffins every morning. I believed this hotel to be a great experience and a great deal because of its amazing location. How much time can you expect to spend at a hotel when there's so much to see in SF? I was very happy we chose The Mosser for our stay in San Francisco. We will definitely consider staying here again!
google avatar

Melinda S.

Yelp
Normally I like staying here but when I stay at a non-smoking hotel, I expect it to be NON-SMOKING that includes WEED! Every night the people next to us were smoking out and it filled our room with smoke; we had a connecting door. I had a child staying with me, so not cool at all. I called the front desk who informed me that weed is OK. I told them no it's not, I have a child with me they didn't care at all. Its BS.... I don't see anywhere it says weed is ok in the hotel Rules. SO don't stay here unless you want a contact high.

Yelp
For a 18 and up hotel, it's a wonderful option; for a solo trip it was spacious enough, had all the amenities needed and wanted. The hotel was in PERFECT position of the city for a tourist, as you're in the middle of just about everything. For a 19 year old, 90 percent of things were walking distance, but even for older guests It would be considered walking distance to get to the tourist attractions. Overall, Solid hotel with everything you need, if you're expecting a 5 star hotel this is not it, but one that will make sure you're feeling home and safe.

Yelp
If you're looking to stay somewhere in San Francisco without breaking the bank, then The Mosser is probably a good fit. One thing to note is that some of the rooms have shared bathrooms - if you're like me, that's a huge no-no, so be sure to double check that your space has it's own facilities before confirming the reservation. The hotel itself is in close proximity to restaurants, shopping, BART and you can explore the city by foot if you're feeling up to it. If you're a rideshare person, it's really easy for pickup and drop-offs as well. The rooms themselves are pretty small and have no frills. But if you're just looking for a place to lay your head for the evening, it will be just fine. Most of the amenities are in the room itself, and since it's near an apartment building, I'd recommend keeping those blinds closed unless you want to put on a show for the neighbors. Again, knew what I was getting myself into before staying here. Set your expectations and you should be A-okay without hassle.

Yelp
Cute quaint hotel. First time in San Fran with no clue where to stay. This hotel is in a great central location. The rooms were small but for the price they were fine. I would stay here again. Perks- bath robe ,coffee and muffins, and travel goods.

Yelp
I stayed here for a few days while visiting SF. This hotel was alright, it served its purpose but I wish I would of booked somewhere else. The lobby was very clean, very nice, and the staff were extremely polite. Location is the saving grace here, it was fantastic!! The building was very secure and honestly a pretty okay place to crash if you need somewhere to stay. I wouldn't recommended staying here for multiple days however. The rooms are TINY. Hardly room to move with my suitcase on the floor. Furthermore, it wasn't very clean. Random hair on the table, and looked like they hadn't dusted the headboard or anything else for that matter. The carpet in the hotel in ancient, brown, and worn, and really needs replaced. The TV wasn't great either. Although we spent most of our days out, in the evenings before bed the extremely limited number of channels was rough. One of our keycards didn't work either, but we only needed one either way. The Mosser was fine, but for a hotel at such a great location I expected slightly more.

Yelp
This hotel is a hidden gem, affordable and you really can't beat the location: PRO: -less than a block away from market st. 5 min. to union square -parking structure on 5th and mission, $33 daily rate -walking distance to westfield mall -24hr denny's around the corner -liquor store around the corner [double points] -curbside loading -bed fan -reading lights -FREE WIFI CONS: -yes communal showers/bathrooms. I had a very pleasant experience staying here. I booked this hotel, since I was doing the Nike Half [starting line is at union square] so it really paid off since the race start time was at 6:30 am. i woke up, got ready and didn't have to get an uber/taxi to get to where i needed to go and got to sleep in an extra little bit too! :) I got to the hotel a little bit earlier like 2:30PM [check in time is 3PM] they upgraded me to a room with a bathroom perfect! I will say the room was small but in a good way! specially since it was just me! there was a tv, desk [ near tons of outlets ], bathroom with a tub, a sink, and FREE WIFI score! ... i wasn't in the room that long.. only to sleep, put my things day prior to race and post race. they also very kindly gave me a late check out to 1PM.. I really needed it... specially after running 13.1 miles! they also held my bags after I checked out. overall I had a good time staying here and look forward to coming back! thank you !! oh almost forgot.. they also do wine fridays! complimentary wine at 5PM!!

Yelp
Solid place to stay for a short visit. Clean and cute rooms, staff was very friendly and helpful. My fave indian restaurant is near so that is a plus. I stayed here last year and I booked my 2nd stay for a concert this week. Definitely worth it.

Yelp
The room was TINY!!! Seriously a box. We estimate the dimensions of the room were 10 x 9 and the bathroom 6 x 5. UGH!!! Even rooms in NYC and Tokyo are not this small. There was no storage space, closet and we could only open the door halfway because the foldout luggage rack was in the way. Yeah it was miserable. We looked longingly at the Marriott across the street and wished that we booked our room there, unfortunately the rooms were prepaid online. Escaping claustrophobia was worth the extra $. The website is deceiving, not fully revealing that the full-size platform bed was going to take up the entire room! There is a 13" TV that is attached to the corner of the bed, way too close for comfort and small, but I guess it matches the room. I have to give an extra star for the great valet service, location and modern feel of the hotel. Ceiling fan and the waffle robes gave me a sense of luxury. One more thing, when they changed the sheets, there was a rip, and for some reason, they only provide one flat sheet instead of two, which exposes that gross linty blanket that is always beneath the bedspread. I understand this is a 2 star hotel, I consider it more like a motel, but I will give Mosser it's due regard for cleanliness and modern appeal. The price is right also at $90/nt.

Yelp
This is a great hotel to stay at if your attending any convention next to Moscone or you are just visiting SF in general. The rooms with the shared toilets/showers are clean, comfortable, affordable and are a decent sized for a single traveler. My only complaint would of been the slow wifi and not being able to open my window on the back wall since people outside were blasting music.

Yelp
Probably the strangest and one of the worst hotels I've personally stayed at. Entrance/lobby are clean and nice enough but didn't realize what we got ourselves into until we stepped out of the elevator. The hallways are literally 4 feet wide with community bathrooms (not sure why, maybe it was a dorm back in the day). Rooms are super close together (you can literally hear everything). As a 6'2 man, I wasn't able to use the bathroom as the sink and mirror are shoved into the smallest corner of the bathroom (whoever designed this place should have their license revoked). Bed is small, rat droppings/dirt in shower, super loud area during the night (homelessness). I would recommend forking out the extra $75-100 to stay at the Marriot across the street.

Yelp
"Modernized Victorian style hotel full of history and character." This is by no means within the same caliber as the Marriott or Hyatt. The building itself is over 100 years old and has been renovated and fitted with customized bed frames. The wood paneling evokes a classy feel and the carved fixtures and accents definitely provides a hint of Parisian/Victorian flare. The lobby area has a nice Victorian chic style with comfortable seating areas. Check in was convenient and staff members were eager to assist with luggage and other hotel services. The room was quite small and definitely lacked the creature comforts we are used to (i.e.: air conditioning, mini fridge, seating area, etc). There is a ceiling fan and 2 large windows to help with the heat. The room was very clean and stocked with toiletries and shower robes. The closet was rather interesting as it only has a curtain in place of a door. Housekeeping was on point with every single detail. I was provided with fresh sheets, towels, and even a proper hospital corner fold. Everyone was courteous and greeted me with a smile. Overall impression: old-world charm with modern touches keeps this hotel alive. It may not have the amenities as some of the higher end chains, however it is enough to please its guests.

Yelp
The Mosser is unpretentious yet clean and efficient. If you are looking for a no frills but clean place to crash for the night as you explore the city this place can't be beat for price and location. Tip : if you are over 6 feet and so is your partner get the double twins. Whilst not the most romantic of options you don't want to be stuck with a springy queen mattress .

Yelp
A very reasonably priced hotel near the Moscone Convention Center. Traveling from the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to downtown was very easy on the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART). Hotel was within several blocks of Powell Street Station. As expected in downtown San Francisco rooms are very small. The hotel offers 6 floors of rooms above the lobby. Each floor provides one male and one female toilet. A single floor bath/shower, with key card access, was very clean and presentable. As mentioned rooms are very small but the single rooms provide the necessary items: bed, cubbyholes, closet, tv, sink and bedside table. Wireless internet access requires a username and password which offers basic surfing ability (i.e. news and email access). Attempting to play any videos or download medium to large files is not feasible. For example, attempting to watch a show on ABC.com or download a file from iTunes was not possible due to the slow speeds. A very very minimal breakfast is freely provided in the morning in the lobby (i.e. muffins and orange juice). Staff was very polite and cleaned rooms daily. Overall, a pleasant experience and convenient location.

Yelp
We recently came and stayed for 4 days and I love This place! It's simple but covers all your needs! It's secure in keeping the doors locked and only allowing their guests. Also have hand sanitizer at entrance which is nice! Very Covid cautious! The best part is that it is right on union square! Starbucks, Trader Joe's, target, and everything else is literally a 3 min walk! Staff is nice! Place is quite got really good sleep! My husband and I LOOVVVED IT and we will definitely be coming back to this exact hotel :) thank you so much for the great stay!

Yelp
Ridiculous. What kind of hotel charges you to reserve the room AND charges for the room!? More of an overpriced hostel than a hotel. The location doesn't make up for the rude receptionist, moldy bathroom, and the broom closet they call a room. You're better off at a Travelodge. At least they have breakfast.

Yelp
This was hands down the single WORST hotel experience I have ever had. I implore you if you are reading this review to not subject yourself to this hotel and it's poor conditions. This hotel despite charging $200 rates (at least what the business I was visiting paid) operates more like a cheap hostel than an actual hotel. The hotel room I was in had a broken shower, completely broken as in no water would come out at all. Over the duration of my 3 night stay I asked multiple times for them to fix this. Initially i was told they'd look into it and fix it. Once that didn't happen, they refused to solve the problem and instead recommended a communal shower. Ew... It turns out this is a common/recurring issue at this hotel judging by other reviews and complaints. Next there is no air conditioning. Meaning the entire room is incredibly hot and stuffy. The walls both to the hallway, next room and outside are incredibly thin. I could hear every time someone passed my door outside, the next Rooms movement and worst of all the loud noise from the busy street. Besides the lack of a working shower the bathroom toilet seems to have been made for little people in that it is mere inches off the ground. There is also only one elevator for the entire hotel making coming and going a multiple minute ordeal. The only thing positive I will say is that the television worked and had HDMI and the room appeared to be overall clean. Although that included a strong Clorox smell every time I entered the room after cleaning. Overall this is the worst hotel experience I have had. If I was paying for myself (and not paid for by a conference) I would have gotten a refund and immediately went back to the Parc55 by Hilton where I stayed for a few days before this. That hotel is roughly the same price, a bit more, but everything you expect from a good hotel. The Mosser is a horrible hotel and if you have gotten this far I strongly advise you NOT to stay here. Hopefully this review can help the next person.

Yelp
Rooms are incredibly small, There's no daily cleaning service so our towels were soggy and when we called to the front desk we never got new towels. Walls are thin, heard a couple having an intimate moment and they were three halls away. Overall it's not the best but it works

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE. If I could give them a negative number of stars I would. For starters, this is, as many have said, far more of an overpriced hostel than a boutique hotel. When checking in, the guy at the desk was training a new employee and didn't even acknowledge me during the process. The key card only works half the time, and takes repeated tries to actually open the door. You can forget about traditional hotel amenities like the toothbrush you forgot. NOW FOR THE REALLY GOOD (or should I say bad) STUFF- I was MUGGED OUTSIDE THIS HOTEL. Yes, right outside. And the reason why is even worse. The night desk woman, who was easily the rudest customer service employee I've ever encountered in my life, came outside while I was having a quick smoke several feet from the entrance and waiting for my takeout, and yelled at me that I had to move 20 feet away from any area of the building or I would be thrown out of the building. She tells me this is the law in San Francisco. I am skeptical but comply because it is 2am and I can't afford to be thrown out of my hotel at this hour. Not more than 2 minutes after I have been ordered away from the safety of the hotel lights am I knocked into the brick wall behind me and robbed of my phone and wallet. After chasing this asshole for 6 blocks, I finally am spotted by the cops and have a lengthy discussion with them. As it turns out, the law only applies to publicly owned or government buildings, and only applies to tobacco (it's California, I wasn't smoking a cigarette). They advise me that the hotel is REQUIRED to provide me access to a phone free of charge to contact someone to help me (in this case my boyfriend and the airline) since my phone was stolen. The same very rude desk woman REFUSED to allow me to use the phone without being billed, also refused to give me her name, and THREATENED TO THROW ME OUT OF THE HOTEL AGAIN. At this point I informed her that if she attempted to throw me out I'd call the police myself. This woman even went so far as to blame ME for my own mugging, and refused to give me contact information for a manager. I will be attempting to follow up with corporate to file a formal complaint and request a full refund of my stay. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!
