The Happy Gnome Will Close December 22 | Eater Twin Cities
"Operated by the same opening partners, Mark van Wie and Paul Schatz, the Muddy Pig was similarly known for great beer; it closed in 2018 and its location remains vacant." - Joy Summers
The Restaurants that Have Closed So Far in 2018 | Eater Twin Cities
"The Muddy Pig on Dale near the Selby Avenue intersection closed after 16 years with only a few hours' notice; beloved for a massive, deep beer list and a largely stable menu until staffing changes and a weekend brunch were added, the bar also recently repaired its patio after a car skidded off the road into it." - Eater Staff
The Muddy Pig’s Called Last Call Last Night | Eater Twin Cities
"I was saddened to see that after 16 years the Muddy Pig — affectionately 'the Pig' and located on Dale near the Selby Avenue intersection — announced on Facebook it would close, saying that, like many recent closings, it has been tough times financially for small independents. Back when it opened the neighborhood and St. Paul's restaurant scene looked very different; the Pig stood out for a massive beer list with a rare depth and breadth for the time, and its menu stayed mostly the same until about a year ago when staffing changes led to adding a weekend brunch. In March a car skidded off the road and into the patio, which had only just been put back together, and on the final Tuesday night the bar was packed with well-wishers, with a few people playing bar trivia in the back seating area." - Joy Summers
We took all three of my daughters 14,16 and 20. Our 14-year-old had a Mini meltdown because of her perfectionism, but came back and ended up having a great experience. Our instructor was extremely patient and very helpful we all had a great experience and look forward to doing this again.

Took my partner here for the clay date and really enjoyed it. We had plans to go in here and make something more advanced and soon realized that was not the case. This is a tad bit harder to do than it looks in the movies 😅 the place is set up exactly like a class and the staff is very helpful on getting you close to what you are trying. We ended up making 2 small plates, an incense holder and a small sauce bowl. They were far from perfect but the ladies were very sweet. We were informed it would take a month to see the finished projects and we can’t wait to pick them up.

A great experience! It was a lot of fun getting to learn the basics of pottery. The instructors were very knowledgeable and taught the class very well. They also do a great job of helping you through the process while still letting you get your hands dirty and try to get the feeling for it yourself. Will definitely go back!

We took the "Try-It" class and it was so much fun! The whole experience was light hearted and fun from the start. Our instructors had such a great sense of humor and so much patience with us. Everything was thoroughly explained. Our group made 2 pieces each and then we got to choose our glazes. I cannot wait to do this again!

I went for a "try it" class. It was a great experience. The instructors were knowledgeable and were happy to help when we needed it. If you're looking for a fun night out or want to experience clay throwing for the first time I can't recommend The Muddy Pig high enough. I plan on signing up for their 8 week class soon!

My husband and I had such a great time at our Clay Date class! We did it for our 8 year wedding anniversary since the theme for that year is either brass or pottery in case anyone else’s is coming up! <3 I am awful with names but the gals that helped us with everything were soooo patient and kind. The facility is quite large and they have little gift items you can purchase! I forgot to take photos because I was just so excited lol but definitely give this a try!
