The Best Food at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) | Eater New Orleans

"An airport outpost of a modern soul-food favorite (which counts Jay-Z and Beyonce as fans after their visit), especially known for Creole gumbo, oysters Gentilly, and bread pudding; the MSY space serves a breakfast and all-day menu with items like a saucy roast beef debris po' boy, shrimp and grits, and the 'Voodoo Burger.' (Concourse C/Gate C6)" - Clair Lorell

What to Eat at the New Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport

"The Munch Factory, founded by Jordan and Alex Ruiz in Gentilly in 2011, moved to the Lower Garden District in 2017, a casual neighborhood restaurant with a creative take on Creole cooking. The airy MSY space serves a breakfast and all day menu with offerings like Lower Garden District fries, crawfish pasta, and sandwiches and salads. Get the roast beef debris po-boy, a saucy rendition of the favorite — and grab extra napkins." - Beth D'Addono

The absolute worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had in my life. Nelshaun and had the worst attitude and honestly should not be working there. Pictured is Nelshaun and the manager. Both of them were extremely rude. I’ve never been treated like that before and I was nothing but polite. This place honestly needs to be shut down. The slow and horrendously rude service is absolutely unacceptable.

I know it’s just a grilled chicken Ceasar salad but this was the best salad I’ve had in a long time. They didn’t use that cheap chicken breast meat either. It had a good grill flavor but wasn’t ridiculously dry and the dressing was pretty flavorful. For this and a large smart water was $21. Pretty fair for airport prices if you ask me. I’ll definitely be getting their salads the next time I travel.

Delicious food at the airport. I had 20 minutes to grab something quick but wanted to make sure I tried the famous po boy sandwich before leaving New Orleans. Soft, juicy pulled roast beef with lettuce and tomato. It came with a side of their Cajun fries, which were crispy and well-seasoned. The meat is admittedly a bit salty but the softened baguette cuts the saltiness nicely. Note that service is slower than the traditional fast food spot so this will not necessarily be a leisurely dining experience if you don’t have much time before your flight (as mentioned, I only had 20 minutes, which resulted in having 5 minutes to eat my meal). All in all, I was impressed by and happy about my experience before my flight. Recommended if you want to get a taste of New Orleans!

Oh my god. The gumbo with rice is sooooo flavorful, delicious and savory. I honestly can say this is one of the best gumbo I had. There's also this beautiful lady who's light skin who has the biggest and sweetest heart. I think beauty has no color but I just didn't get her name and want her to get her credit. What she did for me what sooo amazing with her customer service.

We stopped to eat before our flight . It was 11:30 AM. We asked for wings, they were out. We asked for the shrimp platter they were out. Damn, what DO yall have? meanwhile cooks in the kitchen chillin because they have nothing to cook. 🙄 never again.

I am traveling at the airport and had knee surgery 3 months ago. Needed some ice to put on my knee while I waited for my flight to board. Two cups would have filled my little ice bag. Server said I had to buy something and would only give me one small cup of ice. I asked if she could just scoop another bunch of ice into the same cup and she said no. I asked what happened to human decency and care for others and she just said I had to buy something. No personality or ability to think for herself. Starbucks was more than happy to help me out with as much ice as I needed.

Ordered the shrimp poboy. It came with fries surprisingly, and even though the fries were limp and not crispy, they had great flavor and were seasoned well. The poboy was fine. Nothing to write home about, but it did the job. The bread was nicely toasted. Reasonably priced. More than happy with it, especially for it being in the airport.

Always so many options in the airport by our Gate was nearby so we gave it a try. Pretty good búfalo chicken wrap with a big amount of fries. Average quality but good enough to finish the whole thing. Better choice than chilis next door.

Yelp
My greeter/order taker/server, Nelshaun was kind, friendly, and helpful, even though it was 6:30 on Monday morning! I ordered the Congress Drive (a street in New Orleans, not a political statement). The andouille/ham/gruyere on croissant was fabulously good, although a little mayo and hot sauce would have made it decadent. The grilled potatoes were surprisingly perfect, hot, tender, and lightly salted. While I don't know if this was the best choice at the airport, it was the best choice I made all morning. I will definitely visit this place if I'm ever at Concourse C at MSY again.

Yelp
Note: this is more about the service and employees. Unfortunately, I can't review the food since I didn't get to eat it personally since the airport smell combined with the food smell made me nauseous. It wasn't food related. On a good note, my friend tried it and it was ok. Service: you order your food item, pay, and wait for your name to be called. It takes 7-8 minutes so make sure you have time to wait for the cooked food. I ordered the voodoo burger and it was a full meal.

Yelp
Well well well what have we here. The munch factory at the MSY hello hello hello. Making my way to my gate in I see the flame and immediately I know and recognize the logo. Is the munch factory.

Yelp
Mango chicken salad sandwich was delicious and big flat soft fries. I wasn't expecting that but delighted. I thought it was a grilled chicken with salsa but read it wrong. Probably wouldn't have ordered if I knew but glad I did. Would do it again and that's saying a lot for airport food.

Yelp
This place has bad service. I went to the bar and asked for some food. Then asked for a water and a sprite. The woman told I can't sit here. Scolding me. I didn't understand what was happening. So I attempted to ask her to clarify and she became more aggressive. I dont usually leave reviews but it was one of the most aggressive interactions I've had in dinning service. Watch out at this place or you might get a fight!

Yelp
The grits were hard and the food was not good. I always wanted to try it but it's not worth it. Go to Leah's instead. The food at Leah's is good

Yelp
Wouldn't even offer some water and ice for food order. Said it was policy and they count the cups. Well you lost my business.

Yelp
As I was headed from the airport I found myself a little hungry. There was some places to choose from, but I chose this one. So I gave it a shot. I ordered the special which consisted of a stuffed bell pepper, dressing, seafood pasta, fried fish, corn, and a Hawaiian roll. All I can say is that was the best Hawaiian roll I ever had. Everything else was horrible. No flavor at all. The worst $25 I ever spent. I do not recommend this place.

Yelp
I didn't like the food. I just got a big mouth hamburger and all my hands were covered with oil. Even my wife completely throughout her chicken ranch sandwich.

Yelp
Food was okay, but will personally never come again. Service was fine until they gave us a wrong item and we returned it and asked for the item we originally asked for, as our ticket said and were called liars by the cook the waitress and a manager.
