The Muse New York

Before we even walked into the hotel, we were helped with all 3 of our suitcases to the front desk. The front desk person upgraded us to the top floor so it would be quieter for my son. The bell person helped us with our bags to our room. All of the staff that we had any interaction with were very attentive. The room was cold, in the good way! We had a king-sized bed, with a desk, fridge, and a beautiful bathroom. We really didn't care about the view, but we could see Time Square. The location of the hotel is half a block away from Time Square. However, you don't hear any noise of Time Square. I believe the noise we heard was the police going by. One thing we loved was that they had water bottle fill-up stations instead of bottle waters. Every cool and smart! Our flight was delayed, and they were able to allow us a very late check out of 3 pm. We had to pay, but it was worth it. We will for sure stay here next time we visited NYC.

The rooms are very clean and nice. There's no view but only of a brick wall. Housekeeping was very invasive and didn't respect our privacy. She ignored hotel protocol that we were following. That was to leave towels on floor for new towel. Card on bed saying that we refused services. We went downstairs to come back to her stripping EVERYTHING. We stated WE DIDN'T WANT IT CLEAN.. This lady literally had us waiting 15 minutes with our breakfast in the hallway until SHE WAS DONE CLEANING EVERYTHING INCLUDING THE BATHROOM. The room wasn't dirty we literally had just check in the night before. Fast forward to the next day.. Front desk girl was asked if there was a microwave around. We had food to heat up and was starving. Just to find out EVERYTHING WAS STRIPPED OUT OF THE KITCHEN There wasn't not even 1 microwave in the building. That would've been nice to know when checking in. Then I asked front desk girl.. Do you guys have a break room with a microwave? She replies "YES" but we can't heat up outside food.. WHEN YOU GO ON YOUR BREAK AND HEAT YOUR FOOD UP FROM HOME... THAT'S OUTSIDE FOOD RIGHT? They didn't care everybody that works at the front desk everyday that we stayed really seemed unbothered. And could careless.

Great Hotel... We have stayed here multiple times and enjoy each visit. The signature bathrooms are worth stopping in no matter where you stay. The rooms are spacious, modern, and well appointed. All the staff are exemplary from the initial valet service and bell caps through the front desk, engineers, and reservation operator. Great to be so close to Time Square (Up the block) and the shows. The Muse is a Must visit!

We booked our room through Priceline .|Nice room at a decent price , in the heart of Times Square. Room was quiet. Comfy and big enough for 2. | the problems began after we left oddly enough. |I got home to discover they charged us AGAIN for the stay even though we had already paid on Priceline. I called to get it fixed. They refunded me the money, minus “ resort fee”. Which is fine. I knew we owed that .. but the problems didn’t end there. They then charged us again for the resort fee on a totally separate fell charge. ( so now I have paid that twice) So.. I had to call again. The first manager told me it was a priority that he fix it. He didn’t…..He left it for the afternoon manager to fix so I had to explain the whole story all over again to him. | We did enjoy our stay here, but they really bungled the billing. it’s too bad because it really messed up what was an enjoyable stay. People shouldn’t have to deal with that kind of nonsense. ( constantly watching my account for mistakes)

We went to NYC for our daughter's graduation. We chose the Muse because of it's great ratings and reviews. It is a very nice hotel. The rooms are all different and vary in size. Ours was adequate, though not huge. It is extremely well located right in the middle of the theater district. The staff very nice and accommodating, especially the concierge, Daniel. The room was clean and well taken care of. They don't have a restaurant, but there are many nearby. We recommend the hotel!

I recently stayed at The Muse Hotel during my trip to New York and am delighted to share my positive experience. Located in the heart of Times Square, this hotel is simply stunning.||The rooms are spacious, comfortable and spotless. I particularly appreciated the elegant, modern decor and the comfort of the bed. Great rooms which were clean, quiet, and spacious. Great location, just steps from all the best NYC has to offer. The hotel staff were friendly, helpful, and courteous. You can't ask for more of an accommodation. This was my best stay yet in NYC, and I visit often. I will definitely refer this hotel to friends and will return myself!

We have just made our second visit to the Muse Hotel (23rd May - 30th May 2024) after spending some time there previously in December 2022. This is an excellent boutique hotel and suited our needs really well being in the heart of NYC and just off Times Square. We had 7 days of exploring so only really slept there but our room was very comfortable, modern, clean and quiet even for the centre of NYC! A special thanks to Joseph for giving us an upgrade to a Suite and to Daniel (Concierge) and the rest of the Muse staff for being very helpful and accommodating for all our needs! I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for being in the middle of NYC with plenty going on around you! They also have bikes which are free of charge to use on a first come first served basis and we really enjoyed our cycle around Central Park. Thanks once again for our stay and we will be back again soon from the UK!

I stayed at the Muse for a quick trip to see a Broadway show in New York. The checkin process was quick and efficient, the staff is amazing, and the room was spotless. I loved how close the hotel was to Times Square and the theaters but since it's a half block from Broadway, it didn't feel overwhelming in the way some of those other hotels there can be. There are great restaurants next door and the lobby in the hotel was very quiet and a nice place to sit and get some work done. It's priced extremely well for what you get. If you want a chill, elegant, quiet hotel within steps to Times Square, this is the spot.

The location is perfect and very nice hotel. Only giving 4 stars because the room smelled very musty.

This hotel came with our Costco travel package, it's located in the Times Square neighborhood which we initially tried to avoid since it's very touristy, but it's off a few blocks away from the craziness and crowd which is perfect because it's a bit more quiet yet very central to be that we have access to all the subway line to get around New York City. If you're hungry in the middle of the night, you can easily walk within minutes to get food and feel safe as there will still be plenty of people out. You loose sense of time as Times Square is still light up and packed at 2 in the morning on a weekday. Hotel room was comfortable, wouldn't be somewhere I book to hang out at to have a staycation, but it was not micro size as some warned about staying in New York, it even had a mini fridge which some hotels I've stayed in LA or Vegas don't even offer. There are no views as the city is jam packed with sky scrapers and buildings blocking any sort of scenery from the room, but that's ok, we're not here to sit inside the hotel and look at views. Tell me about your experience if you've been here or is going to after reading this review:)

We knew it was going to be an excellent experience from the moment we approached the front desk. Since we arrived at 11am and check in wasn't typically until 3pm, we assumed we'd need to check our bags, go out sight-seeing for a while, then come back at 3:00 to check into our room. The friendly employee didn't bat an eyelash and went straight into checking us in with no questions. The lobby was nice and quite spacious compared to other NYC hotels we have stayed at. Our room was surprisingly roomy as well. It was very clean and decorated nicely. It was also very quiet, which is key in a city hotel. Our tour company gifted us with a bottle of wine but no glasses, so we left a note for the housekeeping staff and when we got back they had left two wine glasses. The one problem we did run into was with housekeeping letting themselves into our room very early. It was only 8:30am and my husband went for a walk as I showered. With it being that early, we didn't think to put out a do not disturb sign. As I was finishing up in the bathroom, I heard someone in the room and assumed it was my husband, back from his walk. Nope, it was housekeeping. I'm sure they knocked but I didn't hear it behind the closed bathroom door. I think at 8:30am a huge percentage of people are still in their room, either sleeping or getting ready for the day. That unfortunate mishap aside, we very much enjoyed our stay and would return in the future...but will now be more careful about putting out the Do Not Disturb sign on the door.

We picked here as I lived in NYC and avoided all the touristy spots when I was here. This place put us close but still a little off the path. Check In process was amazing- Daniel is one of the friendliest and most welcoming folks I have encouraged. (I travel for work and stay in hotels pretty much weekly, service like this is why i frequent places) Had a minor bump during check in- issue with reservation which he assured me that things would be fine and he made sure of that! We ended up in a balcony king room, the "balcony" should be renamed a full patio , we could have hung string lights set up a bar and had a cocktail hour! The room was clean, housekeeping did well. We went out the next am and like clockwork Daniel remembered me by name and greeted me and my partner. There's something to be said for that. In a busy city and the people coming in/out to be remembered. Kudos to the Muse and staff!

When it comes to comfort, I cant complain. The Muse has been nothing but a good experience from what I can see. The room was clean, with the most comfortable bed. Now, the high light was the 3 minute walk to Time Square where all the action happens, good energy, great food while enjoying the heart of this city. This experience I would like to recommend as a win, win from all angles. Yelp, you can thank me later, until then Yelp Im out! 9wes

Book here for the low rates... stay here for the friendly staff... come back for the insane water pressure. Said in short: The Muse is extremely clean. Friendly staff. Located just a few doors down from major Broadway venues. The curb appeal is horrid compared to the quality of the actual hotel - so don't let the (run down) facade dissuade. +Pets stay free. I'd book here again based on the high flow shower heads alone. Wow, it was like 30x higher flow than my home shower.

I'm so grateful I can usually always trust Yelp to stear me in the right direction. We looked at various options, but the reviews, affordability and proximity to everything is what sold us. I love that The Muse is tucked just around the corner from the chaos. But close enough that you still feel like you're emersed in the city completely. The room was spacious, clean and we could not hear anything once we shut the door. I was a little nervous of this since I am a pretty light sleeper. The staff is genuinely warm and accommodating. And if you're a gym goer, their fitness center has everything you'll need to get it done. Thank you Muse for an amazing stay! I will recommend to all my loved ones

In addition to being a beautiful hotel, the staff is beyond incredible. They went out of their way to help us us from a situation that had nothing to do with the hotel, but they prevented us from being scammed out of hundreds of dollars, without hesitation. The manager made us feel so safe and protected. I had barely explained the situation before the manager told me he would hande it, and sent us to our room. He then called us to make sure we were ok and safe. I will stay here anytime I come back to New York!!!!

Stayed here once before, it was great then, and great now. Very surprised they haven't opened their "bar' up yet. I think that's what this hotel is missing! Come on, COVID is gone, open up. It's a nice little area in the lobby, just doing nothing!! Staff is very friendly! Rooms are really a nice size!

My husband &I stayed @ the Muse Hotel May23thruMay26 2024 &we were very pleased. Because we were celebrating our 43d wedding anniversary the staff gave us an upgrade with a suite. What a sweet surprise. From the minute we walked in we felt welcome.The staff @ the front desk were very kind &very informative. The rooms were beautiful,cozy&above all extremely clean.I was very impressed with how clean all the rooms were.This is very important to me when I stay @ hotels.The Muse is also located around everything.Only 1 block from Times Square and all the action that goes with that&plenty of restraunts.over all our stay @ the Muse could not have been any better&I highly recommend it to all!Thank you staff for operating such a fabulous hotel!

Unfortunately, at check in, the manager told me that that the King bedroom suite with living area that I had reserved online with a credit card was "automatically oversold by the system." Translation: they sold more suites than they had available and whoever checked in first got the suite. This meant that I had to accept a regular room with two Queen beds. The manager said she would give me $150 off per night for the inconvenience, but I think that's just the cheaper rate for a two-Queen bedroom. Here's where it gets worse - upon checkout I realized that they had charged me an additional $150 per night instead of giving me a credit. Pretty outrageous. So now I have to wait for a refund on my credit card...I will never go back.

Everyone has been super nice and they are very helpful . They help you if you need it . Mask are optional . Would come back for sure !

It's not easy to find an affordable hotel in Midtown but The Muse is an exception. Incredible location, just a half block from Times Square and small, comfortable rooms. Excellent service and a usable workout room. One gripe: most Kimpton hotels offer a complimentary happy hour but staff at the Muse say they lost their liquor license so no wine. Not sure how that happened but hoping they get this worked out before we return.

This Kimpton is well located and offered great customer service. The rooms are large but only by NYC standards. My room was clean and the bed comfortable. There is lunch to do around this hotel so it is a good choice.

Great location! The room was huge compared to other NYC hotels. Very clean and courteous staff. My room faced Times Square, but the room was quiet inside. Great AC and room had a fan (although I traveled with one for white noise). Will definitely stay at The Muse again.

Update: I received a call from the hotel management today concerning a negative experience at the hotel with two staff members. The manager was very concerned and disappointed concerning the treatment we experienced and was very clear that this would not be tolerated and that this would be used as a learning and teaching opportunity for the staff. He assurred me several times that he had discussed the incident with the involved staff members and that what we experienced did not match with the hotel's culture or expectations. What a refreshing conversation! After today's phone call we will definitely return to stay at the Muse New York!

Being from NY and dealing with the pandemic and everything going on, I was looking for a little getaway with some city views for relaxation and peace of mind! The views were there, but the peace of mind was NOT. I booked a room with a balcony and could not have been more excited. When we arrived the check in process was fast, since there really was not any other guest checking in. The front desk agent handed me the room key and told me, "You have the biggest balcony in the hotel." This made me even more hype! What can I say about the room itself? It was nice and clean. Now to the balcony, there were two recliner type chairs, but both were filthy and one actually had bird sh*t on it. The table was tiny, so plans of getting food and eating it outdoors on the balcony were erased. The room next door also had a balcony with a better setup! They actually had a high table with chairs! Aside from that, the room next door was having a party and smoking weed non-stop. The smell was going inside my room and they were being extremely rowdy. It shows negligence on their behalf allowing parties on their balconies. It was pretty uncomfortable and I honestly regret spending the extra money on a balcony room. ** My advice would be to just get a regular room.

My 3rd trip to NYC from SF. Stayed at a friends place on Roosevelt Island, a hotel near MSG, and this time, The Muse. Came to see a show and wanted something close since we'd be walking at night. I hate Times Square, but I booked this place anyway. This hotel is literally a block away from Times Square. Anyway, despite the proximity to the chaos, this is a fabulous hotel. You really wouldn't know you were this close. This street, the same one the theaters are on, 2 blocks away, is actually pretty quiet. Super friendly staff, clean, and pretty comfortable beds. We took the red eye and even though it was morning, they let us in our room so we could take a nap before we went to meet friends for lunch. Amazing. I would absolutely stay here again.

Had a great stay here! Booked the Kimpton Muse through Hotel Tonight after confirming that the rate was (slightly) discounted. With taxes and fees, it came out to $223 for a Friday night. Reasonable considering the luxury level and the fact that it's about a block from Times Square. The lobby here is beautiful, and the staff were all extremely professional and friendly. The room was also spacious (by Manhattan standards!) and comfortable. From 5pm - 6pm, they had a complimentary wine social hour in the lobby - you could just grab a glass of wine and take it back to your room, if you preferred. The only thing really missing was the lack of complimentary water in the room. Otherwise, a great hotel!

Really took me by surprise Most Kimpton properties or IFG for that matter Are a four star or sometimes three. This particular hotel is not only the best location if your intentions are to be in mid town near the theater district or Times Square in general. But it happens to be one of the best run hotels anywhere that I have run across and I am 74 years old. Everything runs smoothly. Housekeeping is greater then exceptional. Fixtures are just terrific. Very comfy beds, best shower possible. I feel the management is largely and mostly due to the unusually supreme concierge. Daniel Mitchel, he has an instinct what each customer needs and delivers. Thank you Mr. Mitchel and IHG properties.

The Muse was such an amazing location to stay. It is less than a hundred feet from time square. When I was dropped off by the Uber, I was dropped off in time square and had to walk a little due to a road closure. But it wasn't far at all. This hotel is such a prime location - you can walk out the door make a right and go towards the Rockefeller or turn left and go towards time square. They allow dogs in the hotel which is nice. We left a trash bag outside our door to take it out with us and a housekeeping coordinator stopped by and asked to take it for us. The front desk is welcoming and very helpful. Except this one front desk employee, we asked for an umbrella as we didn't want to go back up to the 11th floor, she wouldn't provide us with one so we bought one out in the shops. However, everyone else was extremely nice. If I remember, Daniel was great. The beds were extremely comfortable and housekeeping came by to disinfect everyday. The bathroom has two sinks (double queen bed) and two shower head options. The lighting in the bathroom was great, but they added a lighted magnified mirror for makeup as well. I would recommend the Muse over the Marriott. Coming from a huge Marriott Fan.

This hotel is great. The location is amazing to be able to walk all over midtown. The staff is very friendly and helpful. And they are pet friendly!

No real amenities, no coffee in the room, no hotel bar or food, loud construction in the building, our bedsheets had holes in them. At best a 3 star hotel experience. The room and bathroom were clean.

This is a good choice for a hotel with some style right in the theater district. The lobby is compact and can get crowded during the Kimpton wine hour each evening, but there is a little elbow room around the bar and you can enjoy a nightcap after your show. Service was perfectly fine. I decided to spring for a terrace room and even though it was chilly out, I enjoyed having that space. If you get one of those, you'll also be on one of the higher floors away from the street noise. The terrace is a large space, about the size of the bedroom itself, with two lounge chairs and a table with seating for four more. So you really can have a little party out there. It's fun to get a close-up view of the surrounding buildings and the colorful lights. The bed was quite comfortable and the bathroom is nice enough with a good-sized shower. They appear to have toned down some of the hot pink accents that are on their website photos--my room was mostly black and white with a little pink stitching in the coverlet at the foot of the bed. There's no room service and a fairly limited menu at the bar for dining, but the Pig 'n' Whistle pub is just a couple of doors down and will fill your belly fine. There's also the new Taco Dumbo one block up on 47th St., which is just starting out but has way-cool design, tasty tacos, and a fun create-your-own-margarita menu. The Kimpton Muse is a good spot if you want to be in this location and you want something other than cookie-cutter beige design. It doesn't have a full scope of amenities, but if you don't need that then it's a solid choice.

No AC. No room service . No vending machines. The water that comes out of the sink is foggy. Would never recommend this hotel to anyone. We asked the lady at the front ( which was nice ) where we can buy water bottles and she told us whenever the bar opens (11 am) it's 7 am and I have to get up and go to a convenient store for water. I've stayed in New York about 20 times by far the worst hotel ever.

I think "4 star boutique" hotel must mean something different here because this was one of the most boring, bare bones hotel experiences I've had. The room was small and clean and very close to Times Square. That's all. There were 0 amenities, no door person the entire duration of our stay (3 weekend days), no water bottles in room, no room service, bar was closed, no coffee pot in room, no brochures or magazines or hotel info in room, no mini bar or snack options in room, no mini mart in lobby, no concierge service, etc. etc. I would definitely look somewhere else next time I am in town for a 4 star experience.

If you are going to the theaters, this location is great. If you are looking for a hotel with even a small restaurant/bar/cafe they don't have anything (not entirely true). The elevator worked most of the time, but we added in extra leaving time just in case it didn't. By the way, I should have started with the staff who were lovely except for the Sunday morning front desk people (maybe with reason). We had two rooms for three nights. Rooms were very clean and good space. Sunday morning both rooms had 'fee sheets' by the door. We honestly booked The Muse because of the good rate but adding on a $35/night 'destination' fee was not expected. I guess hotels are doing this now but I asked what it was for. It was for the 'refreshment bar'. What? Where? Around the corner of the lobby by the front desk was a coffee & tea station. No signage! Maybe mentoned at check in but we missed it.​

A Beautiful Hotel with great views and a great spot right next to all the Broadway shows and the heart of Times Square. An amazing staff everyone incredibly sweet and willing to accommodate any needs you may have. I had a great stay!!

The location was great but the service and the excessive fees were not. They charge for services they don't provide. They haven't bothered to put their restaurant and bar back in place and when asked they say they have no plans to. The front desk is incapable of handling basic requests like replenishing towels or other important amenities. The total cost for imaginary amenities was over $200. The front desk was also extremely rude and unwilling to help and instead gave vague promises to get in touch with their manager. I would be better off staying at a motel 6. I'd probably sleep better not feeling so completely ripped off

The hotel is great. We got to NYC extremely early and went to the hotel to see if we could check in early. But it being the busy Christmas season, our room wasn't quite ready, but they offered to hold our luggage and directed us to a private lounge downstairs to relax while we waited for our room. When we finally got our room, it was extremely spacious and clean. The bathroom itself was large, and overall clean... except the tub/shower area. There are three different faucet handles for the tub/shower and so much hardware in that small area. The caulking was turning black in some spots.. probably because of all the stuff in there making it difficult to dry out. And the water would intermittently be hot and then cold and back again. It was bizarre. The cleaning staff was sooo nice, especially the ray of sunshine on the 7th floor. She was so kind to my mother. Overall the staff was great and friendly. They gave great recommendations for restaurants and things to do. I do wish they had the bar open in the lobby!

Really appreciated the beautiful room, which felt freshly renovated & was a great size. However, several of the lights just didn't work and it became inconvenient. The main bathroom light over the sinks didn't work. The outlets on the bedside table next to the bed didn't work so I couldn't recharge my phone. One of the lamps wouldn't turn off so I had to unscrew the lightbulbs. Another lamp wouldn't turn on at all. I registered my concern with the front desk and they said they'd look into it but of course, nothing was taken care of by the time I left the next day. What a shame. Otherwise it would've been a five star experience

I have stayed at this hotel last 5 years for business. After my trip last week my team and I will no longer stay there. First off, they are no longer part of IHG/Kimpton properties and did not make us aware. The restaurant and bar has permanently closed (thought this would come back after COVID). Most disappointing is cleanliness and amenities have gone downhill. I broke out in hives from their detergent

A boutique hotel near Times Square with hip stylish rooms, comfortable furnishings and modern updated bathrooms. I find myself seeking out kimpton hotels more and more in my travel-they are popping up in all the major cities. In fact just a month ago I enjoyed a stay at one in Portland Oregon. On this trip to NY we stayed for 4 nights. What all the kimpton hotels seem to have in common is flair-from the distinctive colorful rooms (very pop-art inspired) to warm welcoming staff and a few special hospitality touches like lobby wine reception at 5 (just don't expect top shelf quality wine). PROS: -cool, artsy rooms-and ours on the 8th floor with two bed was fairly large by NYC standards -large modern bathroom with large double vanity (always nice), cool lighted mirror, shower with rain shower head and a separate shower hand held -fairly quiet and very effective A/C -comfortable bed with linens that were just right-not too heavy and plenty of pillows -lobby wine reception at 5 -great location just a couple of short blocks from Times Square and theatre district -room was very quiet-heard no street noise or neighbors OPPORTUNITIES -I feel their toiletries could be a bit better -upgrade the quality of the wine at the free reception -really low end but heck, it is free -prices-with all the crazy taxes, we paid nearly $500 per night-very pricey Bottom line: I wouldn't hesitate to return given the rooms and prime location.

I literally plate hate coming to NY, when I say it's my least place to visit it definitely is. Had to come in town to meet a client and needed a place to lay my head. Decided on this hotel and I'm glad I did. Shoutout to Joseph the front desk for directing me to the hotel in the middle of protests. He stayed on the line with me while the a-wipe police officer refused to let me through the empty street where they weren't protesting where the hotel was. So I appreciate his assistance because I just left philippes and I was tired! Secondly they are dog friendly dior was very happy to be able to eat her food in a dog bowl on a mat provided by the hotel. Lastly, they have everything the benefit of all Kimpton hotels. The only reason they don't get a 5 star is because valet doesn't allow in and outs, the location is good so if you're only going in the city it's fine or only need a one night stay. Update we get back to LA and Dior has flea eggs on her... she's never had fleas in the 3 years I've had her. Which leads me to believe the hotels doggy bed is the cause. Please take precaution when using the pads they provide

Beautiful hotel right in Times Square. The room I was in was perfect and so spacious for NYC. Staff was friendly to us and very welcoming. Definitely recommend and planning to come back this summer!!

Loved our stay here!! We came to New York to celebrate my birthday and I absolutely loved it here. The staff was super amazing and friendly! This hotel is also pet friendly and have NOOOO hidden fees. My little puppy literally felt at home. The only thing that I would change is the curtains in the room. I love to sleep in pure darkness but the curtains are pretty sheer so the city night lights seep in! Other then that 5 stars all around.

Awesome stay! Staff was super friendly and the hotel was a short walk to Times Square, Broadway plays and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again!

Missed the mark and did it repeatedly- it could have been great but fell well short. Positives- Room size is on the larger end of the spectrum for Manhattan hotels. And for most activities the location is convenient for reasonable walks, (theaters/shopping/ dining) also close enough to MTA/Subway but not too loud from the perspective of traffic noise. Negatives- the attention to the basics seems non-existent: Half of the blackout curtain was missing but the hanger hardware was still there. No extra blanket in the room. No ( or woefully too little) between room insulation- The sound between rooms echoes really loudly. Bring ear plugs! And a tolerant attitude for inconsiderate people. No fan for venting the bathroom. Water pressure and temperature stability is good with only a little variation. They don't enforce masking ( March 2022) but still have the bar closed, and are no longer offering breakfast, and there's no coffee maker in the room, and there's no room service, and the mini-frig will freeze any food you put inside it ( it's temperature is not adjustable) and oh yea they've also canceled the on demand TV- so ignore that option when it appears on the screen because it doesn't exist- no option to "air-play" to the TV either as they aren't "smart TVs" if you have a long htmi cable you might be able to use your laptop for entertainment- really in all the "basic" type of amenities you'd get a much less expensive hotels are wholly lacking here. It frankly resulted in some inconveniences to having a smooth morning routine. Bed and pillow comfort are okay - a bit too soft. The Art Deco semi-glammed up decor is nice but the place's fancy appearance does nothing to make up for failing to provide what are pretty much the minimum expectations for any decent hotel.

The hotel was fine. The staff double billed me for my stay and only after I brought it to their attention twice did i get a refund. Then, I used valet for my vehicle. I used the service for two days and was charged for three days. So, i had to call them to have the third day refunded. Also, i got a receipt when i check out and it didn't have any of the valet parking costs on the bill. The hotel was fine and in a great location. The staff was lazy and sloppy, and i spent a lot of time cleaning up their accounting errors.

It's a lovely hotel. Great rates right now and the balcony was lovely. Overall it was a good experience with staff who were pleasant and eager to please, and the complimentary wine happy hour was appreciated. Our visit was spoiled however when housekeeping entered our room in the am without announcing herself, three hours before checkout. After I screamed at her to leave she asked when we'd be leaving. We told her checkout time. She was back an hour later. We had contemplated staying an additional night but instead just packed up and left.

Highly recommend! Went here for a night with my lady, and I can assure you that we were both highly satisfied with the service and the quality of the room. The staff was very kind and welcoming and treated us like family from the moment we entered. They gave us a bottle of wine as well - an extremely welcoming touch. Pretty average hotel, great people in. The morning at the front desk The night time people are clueless It took us 25 minutes to check in at 2am Are you kidding??? They say the network goes down every night at 2 am... what?? Fix it, don't make it your customers problem I wouldn't stay here again if the rooms aren't dirt cheap. As that's how they treat you, like dirt

I've stayed at several Kimpton properties including the Aventi in NYC. The Aventi is beautiful. Spacious rooms, great location, great food. This is my first time at the Muse. I'm typing this from my room. My daughter and I are here for a girl's trip which will consist of a LOT of theater, so I thought this would be the perfect place to stay. Um... WRONG!!!!! I am almost positive I reserved a double bed-room (because there's NO WAY my 15 year old wants to sleep in bed with her Mommy). Yet, when we got to the Muse, we were put in a "King Deluxe" room. Let me just say, there is NOTHING "deluxe" about this room! I know it's New York and space is a premium, but I have never stayed in a smaller or NOISIER room in my life. One king bed and some weird, uncomfortable lounge chair type thing. Not nearly enough room for the two of us. The bathroom is fine, but literally HALF the size of the ones at the Aventi. It's facing 46th and there are SINGLE PANED windows. I lived in NYC for 2 years on 47th between 7th and 8th. It was noisy and I HAD double paned windows! As I type this, I can hear honking and motorcycles and sirens. I went to the front to ask if we could switch rooms. Nope. Nothing for the consecutive 6 nights we are here. Because of their 48 hour cancellation policy, we're STUCK here for 2 days. Then we'd have to repack all of our stuff and switch hotels. I'm so bummed. I don't want this to put a damper on our trip. My daughter is trying to keep a positive attitude. But I can tell she's really disappointed. I will NOT stay here again. Ever.

We had a pre-check in on 5/5. Check in is a 3 and we just assumed at approximately $500 a night an early check in shouldn't be a problem? Well some things you can't help. We called the previous night because we were coming up early but they were booked solid. So we arrived and Dan met us at the counter and got everything started. They took our bags and stored them as valet took the car and parked it. Dan was awesome and made recommendations on a few places to find some great vintage finds and using the Table app he made us lunch reservations at their sister restaurant. He drew a map and made sure we understood where we were headed. The hotel was gorgeous and well appointed. We enjoyed the wine reception that evening and enjoyed mingling in the lobby. The bad part? The room was not as promised. There was no closet for storing clothes. There were no robes for use in the room. The room was 50% hallway. Room 1203. We didn't take pics because the pictures avail On line are accurate and the amenities are true. Our room wasn't equipped as it said it should be however. That's disappointing for the IHG brand. Not sure that it could Have been helped which is why it didn't affect the star rating. Just ask questions about your room to ensure you actually get what you are asking and paying for.

The Kimpton Muse Hotel is located in the heart of Manhatten right beside Times Square.  We arrived and were greeted by Daniel, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was going to be memorable. He noticed we had pets and with Kimpton Hotels.... if pets can fit through the door, they are welcome at no additional charge.  This makes us choose Kimpton when traveling.  Daniel was nice enough to tell us more about the area and choose a room that would suit our needs.  It is the kind of welcome that makes you feel like you are family.  When we arrived in our room, we were very pleased.  They are larger than many New York City hotels, have excellent views, equipped with plush beds and luxurious bathrooms.  There are even small fridges in the rooms which are becoming obsolete in many hotels, so this is a huge plus.  Cleanliness and safety are a priority.  We saw staff cleaning the hotel throughout the whole stay.  Overall, the hotel is excellent and I have already told my friends to choose this hotel, especially with pets! I can't wait for my next stay. If I would do something differently, I would have booked a room with a balcony.  I balcony rooms offer something different and extraordinary!

I guess I have a crush on Kimpton Hotels. Kimpton has never done me wrong. The hotels have a cool boutique atmosphere without the attitude of a Thompson or W. Muse was no different. I arrived early and my name was not on the reservation because I added myself on to my wife's stay at the last minute...and we had booked through hotels.com. The gentleman at the check-in desk was very nice and helpful. He was not phased by my initial oh-shit/what-are-you-going-to-do-to-fix-this reaction. He helped me through my crisis and I was in a room within 20 minutes. He kindly explained that, due to the early check-in, it was on a lower level (4th floor, which was not a problem), but I could check my bags and wait for another room. Like all Kimptons there is free wine in the lobby each evening and also a nice lobby bar. This one was in a nice location near, but not too close to Times Square. It was a convenient walk to Times Square or 6th avenue. I would happily stay here again.

The Kimpton hotel is conveniently located in Times Square NYC. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Check in and check out are easy. Unfortunately this hotel is suffering from false advertising on their website. The website mentions that there are rooms with queen size beds in them; however these beds are no more than a industry standard double. I had originally booked a hotel across the street and then changed specifically to this hotel for the queen beds as we had more people join our party for the trip. When telling the hotel staff that we were not in a room with queen beds we got multiple answers: "those are European queens". "Hotel beds have different standards than industry." "Our hotel queen beds are a special size". My regret here is that they are charging more when not providing what the website is advertising. Unfortunately would not recommend

I am currently staying in this hotel right now. The location is great if you want to see Broadway shows or be near Times Square. The lobby is attractive and the rooms are nice. The bed is comfortable and bathroom is also nice. So you maybe thinking why only one star. Last night I barely got any sleep. The thermostat was broken. So if we had the heat on at all, regardless of the temperature setting it would continue to heat the room. It was 87 degrees in our room last night, so I finally figured after losing sleep that I could set it at 68 but the heat wouldn't turn off. I turned off the heat entirely so the temperature would come down, but then it got cold after a few hours. Today I was put on hold when calling the concierge for over 15 minutes. I hung up and called right back, and they answered so apparently they forgot I was on hold. They told us we could move to a different room. We packed up everything and moved. We came back to our new room in the evening and although the room temperature was set for 72, it was 83 and the heat was still blowing. We contacted the front desk and they sent up their maintenance person who told them the entire hotel is only in heat mode and the air conditioning doesn't work. I said, but I don't need air conditioning, I just need the heat to stop when it hits temperature. They blew us off, and said they couldn't do anything else. I really don't think everyone in this hotel is experiencing the same issue. They just want me to go away and stop complaining. This hotel was booked through my travel agent and I've already told her about our experience and warned her not to book this hotel for others.

We love the location of this hotel! Very kind staff. Boutique hotel feel. Nice updated bathrooms and showers. Clean rooms that are a nice size. We loved it and would come back! Pros: Close to pretty much everything you're coming to NYC for. Cons: I wish there was a coffee maker in the room!
