Art and Culture in Chicago

"Southeast of The Loop, The Museum Campus is a 57-acre park that has three of Chicago’s greatest attractions: The Field Museum of Natural History, the Shedd Aquarium, and the Adler Planetarium. Each of these institutions is exceptional, but if you only have one day, choose just one and take the time to enjoy its collection. Even without the museums, the Museum Campus is worth visiting. Walking toward the planetarium on the peninsula that juts out into the lake, you’ll find the city’s best skyline views. Beyond the planetarium, Northerly Island is a great park with a small beach and a beautiful bird and butterfly sanctuary, along with more cityscapes views. The Museum Campus also contains Soldier Field, the city’s football stadium." - MATADOR_NETWORK

The Field Museum is absolutely worth visiting! It’s incredibly large and detailed, with each section beautifully organized and easy to navigate without getting lost. There are plenty of resting areas throughout the museum, which makes the experience more comfortable. The general admission ticket is enough to see a lot, but exploring the entire museum in one day is nearly impossible—it’s that big! The exhibits are exceptionally well presented, and the interactive experience zones are fantastic. Highly recommended!

Just meeting Sue made the visit worth it; this is one of my favorite museums in the city. There’s so much to see and learn, and the Sue exhibit left me speechless. Totally worth a visit if you're in town!

Landed here after following the lake front trail for a bit and found a nice glade-like spot to relax. I think this odd area between the museums is often overlooked but here you can find a bit of reprieve from the city and an ice cream truck. Both were nice.

Went on a trip with my wife and stopped by the Aquarium. It was amazing! Lots of exhibits and a good amount of interactive options. We spent a lot of time there, but honestly it didnt feel like that long. I highly recommend doing the city pass though, the amount you save on tourist attraction admissions like the aquarium, Field museum, 360 observatory, etc is pretty crazy. Will definitely be going back on another trip.

Crowded for the holiday week but managed so well that we found parking, were in entrance line less than five minutes, touch tank lines less than ten minutes and were able to see everything with just a bit of patience. Exhibits are bright, informative, updated and great for all ages. The former science teacher in me loved it all! Bilingual English Spanish signage in some exhibits as well. Had sandwich picnic on lawn before entering so we didn’t have to stop for snacks. You can carry water bottle as well. Buy tickets ahead of time and download Go Shedd app. Highly recommend.

Out-of-state student tickets cost only $27 and it’s worth every penny. It would take over 3 days to actually get to explore this whole museum but a worthwhile spot to visit for at least a few hours if you have a chance. Exhibits are interactive and engaging with hidden details for those who’ve gone before. Genuinely one of the best museums I’ve ever gone to given to just how much history and culture is covered so well!
