The Narrows is a great hike. Yes you will get wet, yes you will get cold, yes the rocks are slippery and yes it is 100% worth it! I saw so many negative reviews about the above mentioned things. Guess what, do some research before you go and if you can't stand any of the above... DON'T GO! If you don't like crowds, don't go. That will actually make it less crowded for the rest of us. If you don't like your feet getting wet (and you choose not to bring waterproof gear) don't go. If the stuff above doesn't bother you...GO! It is a fun unique hike with so many photo opportunities. We had a terrific time being wet and cold (we chose not to rent the gear just so that we could say we did it naturally), slipping all over the place and laughing our butts off!!! Trekking poles are a must. Good hiking shoes with grip are great as well. Hope this helps in your decision to go or don't go to hike The Narrows.

The Narrows Trail in Zion National Park is a unique and unforgettable hike that takes you through the Virgin River, surrounded by towering canyon walls. The trail’s route is mostly a river walk, with hikers wading and sometimes swimming through the river, depending on water levels. The towering, narrow rock walls of the canyon create a breathtaking atmosphere as you make your way through. It’s a challenging yet rewarding adventure, especially during summer when the canyon is bathed in sunlight. Be sure to check weather conditions and water levels before heading out, as flash floods can be a danger.

An amazing hiking experience! Because how often you can hike in water? I totally recommend to get here prepared - bring a stick, even though you think you don't need it, you do. There is a lot of rocks in the water that you don't see and it's a bit tricky to make your way through them and not to have your ankles twisted. Regarding this, don't forget to borrow or bring sturdy above ankle shoes suitable into water. Neoprene socks for your warmth are really handy and they can be also borrowed. I also recommend to only come with the clothes that are fast drying and with a dry bag. You might end up with water at your waist level or even higher without seeing that coming. No toilets on the way and it's recommended to pee into water, or bring whatever else solid that you might leave behind back without you. Luckily, I didn't need to use toilet during the hike, but because of this limitation, I think that something like 3 hours in total are enough for this hike. Count also with the fact that walking in the water up to the hill against stream is pretty tiring. And you still need to save some energy to return back. But I believe that this whole experience is really worthy. So just prepare for it and then enjoy it.

This was a bucket list hike for me and I would highly recommend this hike. Be prepared by renting the shoes and socks as well as the hiking stick. My feet stayed warm during the hike and the stick was so important for balance on the rocks. I did this hike in late September and the first 1/2 mile in the water is chest deep and pretty cold. Make sure to wear quick drying clothes and take off anything you don't want to get wet, like your sweatshirt and have a waterproof bag to help keep things dry. The hike is fairly cool early in the morning and I recommend getting there early to avoid the crowds of people. Enjoy the hike and views as they are incredible.

A must do hike! I went in the beginning of December and so glad I did. We saw very few people and with the right cold water gear, going in the winter is the best time.

Highly highly recommend hiking The Narrows. We don’t know what the weather is like in the winter or summer but we hiked it early October and it was absolutely perfect. The water was super cold but once you’re in it for a couple of minutes you’ll get used to it. My two boys did it with us and they are 8 and 5 years old. Remember to bring hiking stick, hiking shoes and a dry bag. I brought a dry bag to pack all of our kids changing clothes. I knew all shoes and clothes would get wet so we brought an extra pair to change into after the hike. Not to mention we carried other things in the bag as well. The hike from the bus stop to The Narrows was about a mile and a half. Super easy moderate hike. Anyone of all ages can hike it.

This hike is in my top 3 Zion. National Park has so many great hikes earlier this year. Me and my wife did angels landing. We thought that was incredible, this narrows. Hike, it's pretty darn cool. Seeing the Canyon from the river up, we went up about 3 miles took us about 3 hours water was 58°. We rented our water boots from Zion. Outfitters, I highly recommend you getting a pair of these boots with the free stick. As you will need that on this hike, expect to get wet app to a 6 foot man's chest for a brief 50 feet, and then it goes back down to Below the knee. We saw some people renting coveralls like waders But if you are used to getting wet, no worries, I would just suggest use fin quick, dry material as there is only sunlight if you go in the later part of the day we did this in the morning and the Sun did not peek over the mountain in the valley until about 2 o'clock and then. You can get some dry off time. Remember, there is a point that you must hold your bag and belongings over your head...PLAN AHEAD. All in all, a great adventure, incredible hike and me and my wife Absolutely loved it even though she fell in the water.😂 highly recommended.

This hike was extremely challenging, but had extraordinary views and was an amazing experience. It took 8.5 hours to go to the waterfall and back. Once you enter the river, the entire route is large rocks and varying water depths. Mostly the water is up to your ankles, but there were some parts up to the waist, and one spot that required about 10 feet of swimming. I went in early July. Definitely rent or bring your own canyoning boots; they will help you get good traction on the slippery rocks. Prepare for your feet and ankles to be sore the next day too. It's a must-do hike for anyone seeking a rewarding experience!
