The National Gallery of Art in Castellani House is a great place to visit if you're interested in art from Guyana. The collection is diverse, and there's something for everyone to enjoy. The staff is friendly, and the museum is well-maintained. I would definitely recommend a visit here if you're ever in Guyana!

This is a must visit sight in Georgetown. Wonderful selection of local art, and sculptures, in a grand, old style, Colonial era, large wooden building, with Demerara shutters still in place. This building was the official residence of the first Prime Minister of Guyana, who it is claimed moved to another residence, as he claimed it was haunted. After visiting, you can spend a relaxing hour or more, in our magnificent Botanical gardens, in part of which, the house stands. Take a picnic basket with you, and sit on the beautifully kept lawns, next to the Colonial era bandstand,or feed the Manatees, in the Manatee pond, right there.A truly unique experience .

An old colonial building that apparently, was the home of Forbes Burnham, the first Prime Minister of Guyana. The exhibits were only on one floor at the top of the building but the climb was worth it. Michael Griffiths has some excellent pieces of work displayed there as do some other local artists. Most notable of his works is the carving of an eagle entwined with a snake. By all reports, a very popular piece.

Castellani House is a large nineteenth-century building in Georgetown, Guyana. It is on the corner of Vlissengen Road and Homestretch Avenue. It was designed and constructed by the Maltese architect, Cesar Castellani, between 1879 and 1882.

It was one of the best state houses in Georgetown Guyana Located in the middle of Georgetown. That was dwell by linden Forbes Sampson Burnham during his time. But now it’s become a art gallery. It’s situated at the corner of vissengen road & homestretch avenue.

Once the Official Residence for Prime Minister Forbes Burnham and First Lady, Viola Burnham. Castellani House is now the home of the National Art Gallery since 1993. It houses art galleries and is an exceptional place to visit with family when open. I highly recommending visiting this Art Gallery.

I loved the art gallery. It features several great artists from Guyana. Winslow Craig's wood sculpture was explosive.
