The National Tavern

I love this place but it has been making me a little disappointed recently. The food is great, but the staff is a little stingy over their sauces. The last four times I waited to go order and asked for extra side of ranch they give them to me 1/4 full. I’ve noticed that they shake the ranch in the container to make it look like it’s all the way full but when you open it, it’s barely any. It’s honestly disappointing with how expensive their food is and they can’t even give you the correct amount of sauces you asked for. in the picture you can tell they shook up the ranch since it’s all on the top of the lid Instead of giving you a full container of ranch

Great food and dining experience! Any of their pizzas are a 10/10, so yummy. They do a great take-out business too if you don’t have time to dine-in but would definitely recommend calling ahead or getting there before dinner rush on the weekends because it can get busy fast! Only negative is it can get LOUD inside so just be aware of that. They also have a lovely outdoor seating for when it’s warmer out!!

Thoroughly enjoyed great food options. Gorgeous view over the golf course and a finishing hole on the water. Great to share small plates. Plenty of wide variety items to pick from on the menu. Fun cocktails and specialty cocktails. Could even be a great place to watch sports with tv’s at the bar. Easy to get to.

Great food, impeccable service, fun but loud and noisy atmosphere. Korean BBQ taco was delicious, but meat could have been more tender and tortilla should have been charred. Seemed like it came straight out of a bag. Date night pizza was perfection. Steak was excellent. Tuna tartare is more like poke, but excellent flavor. Red snapper tacos were great but came with a side of tostones (fried green plantains) that seemed out of place. They served no purpose without a dipping sauce like a garlic mojo. Wedge salad was surprisingly chopped, but tasted good. The bread pudding was one of the worst I ever had and would not order it again. The top was so dry and it was pieces of crust. It needs to be a soft even texture throughout. Excellent drinks. Don’t drink the tap water! And again—amazing service.

My daughter brought me here for my birthday lunch! It was amazing and our server was awesome! I had the lobster quesadilla and my daughter had the grilled chicken caprese sandwich! We finished lunch off with the peach-blueberry pound cake with whipped cream. 😍

For members only. Do not let the guards' ability to let you through the gates get your hopes up. Regardless, this place speaks for itself. It’s such a darling experience! Sit outside if you can; the heaters will keep you nice and toasty.

What an amazing experience here all around. Beautiful and homey atmosphere. Food is top notch. The steak melted in your mouth. No need for a knife as you could cut it with a fork. Five star service as well

This place has sadly gone downhill a lot. I had dinner here last night and had a pretty miserable experience. To start, service is a new level of slow. The host are rude and misquote the wait times. Our server was friendly but EXTREMELY slow and incompetent. She came to our table a total of 4 times throughout the meal. Upon being sat, she didn't come to us for over 15 minutes and then we ordered immediately. The food genuinely took over an hour, and mind you the restaurant wasn't even busy at this point because they took so long to sit us. She kept lying about the food almost being out. Then, they brought two of the five entrees and didn't come back to the table for another 10 minutes. We could see in the open kitchen that many staff members were hooting and hollering, rather than running our food, which ended up being cold by the time it came out. Doing everything but their job. My Italian Grilled Chicken Sandwich was nothing special. I was so starving after the wait that anything would've been good, but it wasn't worth the high price tag. Other members of my party complained that their steaks were room temperature and also not as tasty as previous visits. The highlight of the meal was the S'more Desert, but that also took a VERY long time to come out. Like it came out at 10:15 PM and the restaurant closed at 10:00. The other clientele here are also very snooty and rude, which really throws off the vibe. Also PSA: They do not take cash. The waitress tried to laugh it off and didn't inform me, but just know that going in. I won't be back.

Unfortunately, I made the mistake of coming to this restaurant on an empty stomach. I was not prepared to wait genuine hours for mid-quality food. The prices were as high as can be. After a very long wait, our server came and brought water after 15 minutes. We were already so hungry and ordered our meals immediately. Sadly, the food took over an hour to come out. In the mean time, we were parched due to our waitress NEVER coming to the table. She was so kind but so slow. I had the Steak to eat and it was quite subpar. I've had it before and it exquisite, and tonight it was terrible. The food was also very cold because it was sitting in the kitchen window for so damn long. The only redeeming quality was the Smores Dessert. However, it also took over 20 minutes to come. If you want to dine here, do NOT come hungry and block out your entire evening as you will be here for upwards of 3 hours. I hope your chair is more comfortable than mine was. You know it's bad when there's many golf to play since you'll be there for so damn long.

The food , service and ambience has always been great for us! You can dine inside or outside. Just go with the flow of your group. The burgers, the Rubens and the pizza have never disappointed. Grab a salad and a side of chicken! I like the pretzels with the beer cheese. You need to be a member,a guest of a member, or staying at a rental/the Ritz.(make sure you check this out for yourselves.)

Amazing food. The service is very good. The hostess Sarah is always on top of it. It is also very nice inside of the establishment. You can never go wrong getting food and drinks here. The Gluten Free pizza is also amazing.

Food is great, service is fair - My table had the pretzel stick appetizer and that was delicious. The pretzel sticks came out nice and hot, the bread was soft and perfectly buttered/salted. I wish the cheese fondue would've been a little thicker but overall highly recommend that starter. I got the chicken breast entree but subbed the sweet potato hash for the brussel sprouts. Honestly some of the best brussel sprouts I've had in a while! It's got a nice maple flavor to it and I was hooked after one bite. For the price, I think the chicken portion is a bit small but it was still good. The chili glaze is perfect for anyone that likes a little kick. Who knows how the sweet potato hash would've paired with the chicken but I say the brussel sprouts pair incredibly well since you get that sweet/spicy duality Service was a little slow at the start and one person at my table ordered some soup but when it was served it didn't come with a spoon. He tried flagging someone down but after several attempts he ended up getting up to go ask for a spoon. Environment is a little noisy but perhaps it was because we were seated right next to the bar. There's another room with just tables and that may have been a bit quieter.

We drove 20 miles to visit this restaurant only to be told it is a members only restaurant. This information should be clearly stated on your website. There are many homes for rent on the lake and renters are not aware of how many restaurants in this area only serve members.

We waited for 1 hour and never got a table. People would walk in after us and get a table before us. There were 4 open tables and the hostess didn't do anything.

I have been back since my original posting, and they have fixed the majority of the issues I had listed. I have updated my review to reflect the changes. I can say I enjoy going to this place now. THANKS GUYS! -Ryan Bison Washington

Amazing dinner tonight at The National Tavern! The drinks were good but the food was amazing!!! Marinated Avocado - Corn Chips | Lime | Cilantro Smokey Beets & Cheese - Gouda | Orange | Chili Almonds Shrimp & Chicken Jambalaya - Andouille | Creole Rice | Cilantro White Pizza - Ricotta | Fresh Mozzarella | Roasted Garlic | Charred Broccolini Strawberries & Sweet Biscuit- Grande Mainer Cream | Strawberry Jam | Fresh Strawberries Warm Cinnamon Doughnuts - Caramel Sauce Every single thing was better than the next. The beets and avocados were fresh and flavorful. The jambalaya had just the right amount of spice. The pizza was crispy and broccolini was perfectly cooked. Both desserts were epic! If you're every on property we highly recommend stopping in!

Had a great meal here last night! We came in around 6 and we got out table outside because the weather was beautiful. Our waiter was quick to come over and offer us drinks. There are so many delicious things on the menu, it was so hard to choose. We decided on the turkey pretzel club and the fried chicken sandwich - one side Caesar and one side house salad. Our food came out fairly quickly. The sandwiches were amazing! Lots of food for a reasonable price ($13 per sandwich). The pretzel bun on the turkey club was a phenomenal addition. The fried chicken sandwich reminded us a bit of Chick-fil-A in the best way possible. I would love to come back and order a few small plates to share. Also would love to try the Reuben, a pizza and the desserts! A great atmosphere and service.

Good food, great service and fair prices. We never had a problem at this lovely place. In fact we are going there tonight with some friends.

The food is superb and we have always had great service either at the bar or at a table. The nachos are delicious!

Never been before but on a visit to Lake Oconee had the opportunity to visit. Reuben may have been one of the best. Definitely was superior to any locally.

Was taken here for a business lunch. The scenery and the area are spectacular. What an amazing community and this is located in the middle of it. Great open and airy restaurant with plenty of room and some outdoor seating. I had the nachos, just sounded good and they were. Also had someone order me some fries because they insisted that they were amazing. And they were. Everyone that was with us was impressed and had no complaints. The service and hospitality was impeccable. Just wish I lived closer to have a reason to come back.

The restaurant is available for anyone, not just for members. The food was sooo amazing and I tried everyone's dishes. The service is very slow (At least for us) and that's the only reason I'm giving a four star. All the food was beyond my expectations and I honestly don't think you can go wrong with any of the dishes. I decided to go with two appetizers the lemon pepper wings and buffalo shrimp potatoes shins. First off I've never seen the buffalo shrimp potato skins on any menu so I definitely had to try it. It was soooo good and the lemon peppers wings were so tender.

Food is consistent and usually priced fairly. The service, like most places, Is rather slow but always respectful and kind. Casual vibe with a fun atmosphere.

Our server Kaleb was incredible. He was very attentive to our large party. He brought a great attitude to the table even though we were sat at a later time. I have nothing but positive words to say about Kaleb and our experience at The Tavern. Thank you for such awesome service!

Pleasant area to eat dinner at the end of the day. Nice service and pretty good food. View of area is beautiful. Probably my favorite place in Greensboro.

We called the restaurant ahead of time asking if we would be able to enter through the guard stand and were told that it shouldn't be a problem. So we drove there from the Del Webb community, got to the guard stand, and were told that the restaurant was no longer open to the public. If it's not open to the public, then why is the restaurant even on Google? And further more, why would they tell us coming there wasn't a problem if it is? Extremely disappointing and a waste of my time and gas after taking my time to call ahead. Would definitely NOT recommend!!!

Ford may be terrific, but you need to be a member or with one to enjoy the cuisine; we were turned away after a long drive into the development. Might be nice if they put that on their website!

The food is good but I finally just got done eating my leftover salmon pasta for lunch and I believe the chef put way to many capers in my dish. A whole jar in fact

Really great location and with a casual, yet high end feel. Service is friendly and attentive. The selection has a little something for everyone. Standouts here include the calamari, flatbreads and pork chop (though it was a bit salty). Cheddar grits were a nice southern touch to some dishes. The rating is probably nudged up a half a star due to the lack of comparable offerings in the Linger Longer Reynolds Plantation area.

Great location in Lake Oconee, always super service and food items. Bartenders make some great drinks too. Enjoy the live music and special pizza.

Disappointing. Arrived at 815 pm (closing listed as 10 pm). Went there specifically to sit at the fire pit, which they closed at 920 so we missed it. We probably would have been able to make it out there if the service weren't painfully slow.

Total rip off. $8 for 3 tiny potstickers (and that's supposed to be a "shareable bite"). Dry and burned on the underside. Served atop dried out cabbage. $9 for 5 tiny overcooked, hard and dried out chicken nuggets. Their Spinach-Artichoke Parmesan Cream pizza was loaded with onions despite there being no mention of them in the menu. Super bland. The crust was limp and tasted/looked pre-made. No need to return

Food, atmosphere, staff - excellent! Highly recommend the Pork & Beans. Not typically my style of food, but it was absolutely delicious!!

Incredible service even on busy Memorial Day weekend. Drink selection was vibrant and the food was killer!! Pizza game is on point.

Great food and service! Also awesome view if you sit outside. If you come on a Friday or Saturday be prepared to wait! Great wine list and heavy pour for the cocktails :) burger is awesome, love the buffalo potato skins, great salad. Honestly could not have more good things to say about this place. My only negative experience was when Brittany was our server, she did a horrible job and made me not want to come back. Glad I did though every other server we had was great!

The National Tavern is a terrific place for drinks, for drinks and pizza, or for drinks and dinner. The Tavern offers a full bar. It includes several drinks developed by the head bartender, Freddie. Freddie--and his drinks--are excellent. The Tavern also features tapas plates, pizza, and a standard menu. We are usually with a group; we order a number of tapas plates and sample the variety. My personal favorite is the charred octopus. The charred taste enhances the delicate octopus. We have tried four of the pizzas. The crust is perfect. The cheese and other ingredients are top quality. The standard menu items range from Asian noodles to steaks. I have not tried many of these. However, those with our group who have tried them report that they are excellent. There is another reason why the Tavern is a great place to spend an afternoon or an evening. Everyone in the place is upbeat and cheerful. We rarely leave without having made new friends. We visit the Tavern at least once or twice each weekend. I highly recommend it.

Great food and service. We weren't expecting much after playing golf and were delighted by the selection and quality of food. Chicken thighs and seafood special were delicious, plus the pours were very generous. Looking forward to trying a pizza next time!

Went with an 8 person golf group on a friday night. Really neat place with gastro-pub vibe/menu. Sat at an 8 person high-table in bar where we could watch the UGA football game. Great service. Food was very good, typical gastro-pub done well. Extremely convenient for golf groups staying at Reynolds. The best dinner place of the on-property locations.

Terrible food and service....they act like they don't want to stay in business....dirty tables, had to convince staff to wipe it.....food took like 45 minutes to come out.....had to practically beg for bread....only reason I gave it 2 stars is the decor is nice. I wrote this review, got a whole other dinner to make up for the garbage that I ate and I may pull the trigger in the room.

Have to say I was very impressed with the restaurant and all the tasty dishes they had to offer. I arrived with my family 30 minutes after they opened for the day and the staff were so hospitable and friendly. Menu is small and simple which is nice to have it straight to the point. Calamari is crisped to perfection. Sandwiches are all delicious and just the perfect amount. Thankful for the wonderful staff, only wished I could've stayed after 12:30 to enjoy some of their cocktails at the bar!

We had a party of 6 on a Friday night for a nice dinner. The food was good - but the service was absolutely horrible. We wound up speaking with the manager before we left the establishment. The entire interaction was sub-par for this type of restaurant. We are in this area frequently to visit friends ---- I will Never go into National Tavern again.

Came here while staying at the ritz and can honestly it was a great choice ! The menu was small but perfect great options and the waitress was helpful and gave recommendations . The cheeseburger was fantastic as well as the turkey sandwich .

WOW!! WOW!! WOW!! Did I say WOW!!?? Food was excellent. PERIOD. FULL STOP. Pork Chop, Tavern Salad, Calamari..ALL EXCELLENT. Service was great as well. Highly recommend. Ask for Payton to be your server. Very attentive and knows the good stuff to order...Including the Tequila.

Great spot to unwind inside the gates of Reynolds. The large bar and outdoor putting green make this a unique spot.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff, they aim to please. Been their many times and haven't had a bad meal. The menu is great and suitable for kids too. Highly recommended for lunch /dinner

Great Restaurant Experience!!! Service was friendly, helpful and fast! Food is really great!! Chef seems very concerned with local, highest quality ingredients and it shows! AND you can order in such a way that there are smaller orders for those of us who can't eat too much, but plenty for those who do. There was nothing they could have done better!! Not sure what happened for those not so good reviewers...this is a really great place for a great meal and great experience!!!

Overpriced and what's with sewer smell. I couldn't enjoy my dinner from the sewer smell.

Unfortunately we had couple of mishaps with this venue. All to do with the manager Scott Collins. I gave 1 star to this place only because of him. He is a real down side to this place. Otherwise - food is good, (but you can't make changes to your order) but the waiting stuff, who serve you, are very friendly and polite!

National Tavern is a great place to Dine! Great atmosphere! Friendly staff! Food is amazing best pizza within 100 miles. Bar is awesome I go three times a week, no other place on the lake comes close!

Exceptional dining locale on the National golf course in Reynolds. Shared an amazing hawaiian pizza and it was plenty for 2 of us.. Not to mention the complimentary bread and corn muffins. Great atmosphere and views, one of my favorite spots in the area.
