New Restaurant Openings for Seattle, May 2025 | Eater Seattle

"An Italian restaurant on California Avenue in the former Peel & Press space; the West Seattle Blog notes the centerpiece might be a "New York-style pizza oven," but the owners intend to do much more than pizza, including making their own limoncello." - Harry Cheadle

Just driving down California Avenue and spotted the restaurant, went in and had a wonderful time. The food was fantastic. Chicken sandwich, half pizza some meatballs and the drinks were very good. The server was fantastic very personable and nice. I was joking around with her like we’ve been friends for years. You can park in the back of the restaurant there is an entrance which is nice so you don’t have to walk around to the front of the building. The seating is very comfortable. not that big of a restaurant. We had the happy hour prices which were very good. Definitely go back again.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A true neighborhood gem! Locally owned and such a warm, welcoming spot right here in West Seattle. The service is always outstanding, the cocktails are delicious, and the food is absolutely fantastic—authentic Italian with so much flavor. A perfect place to enjoy an awesome dinner with friends or family. Highly recommend supporting this local favorite!

Google
Our new favorite WS restaurant, and we had take-out! Between 3 of us, we had a calzone, a gluten free pizza, fettuccine Alfredo and 2 salads. The ingredients were fresh, the GF pizza crust was great, and they were happy to accommodate all of our special requests. The fettuccine was exceptional. We couldn’t dine-in, but we definitely will next time. The atmosphere was cozy. The staff were very friendly and welcoming us as we waited for our food. Highly recommend!

The bartender “Ryan” mixed the best drinks I’ve had in the area. My kids loved the pizza, the servers were super sweet and they raise money every month for a different school in the area. What a great place we stumbled across. Definitely coming back again soon!

Google
Easily a 5 star. The food is delicious, the service is beyond exceptional and seasonal specials give the option of variety. Everything we've tried is delicious. I have a soft spot for the gnocchi. It's truly pillowy. As a variety option, the pesto sauce on the gnocchi is so good. Happy to see how this spot has revived a neighborhood local spot and the owner's commitment to West Seattle and gives back.

The Neighborhood is the kind of place that welcomes everyone—whether you're out with family, on a date, catching up with friends, or simply dining solo. From the surprisingly smooth Old Fashioned to a refreshing cucumber soda mocktail, every drink has its charm. The pizzas are packed with flavor (don’t miss the garlic-kissed Fruit Belongs on Pizza!), and the ginger cake with caramel sauce and Husky Deli vanilla ice cream is the perfect sweet ending. With great food, friendly staff, and a cozy atmosphere filled with music and art, The Neighborhood turns an ordinary day into something special. Come see what makes it so memorable—you just might find your new favorite spot.

Google
Lovely buildout, the limoncello martini was delicious. Such friendly staff, the owner came by and asked for feedback, she really cares about the community / neighborhood. We appreciate they are working on adding gluten free options. We are excited to try those once they are ready! We loved that it was family friendly (most places around where there where alcohol is served are 21+), the kids menu had a grew selection and it was lovely that beverage and ice cream were included and all were one price. The kids’ Mac and cheese (pictured) was delicious , I think my husband loved it more, nice change from Kraft. My husband said the gnocci was awesome and my simple salad had several different veggies so it had nice variety

Google
We enjoyed our time at The Neighborhood’s bar! It was cozy but well stocked and had comfortable bar seats. We had great conversation with the owner & were impressed by how warm and welcoming all of the employees were. The service was attentive, knowledgeable, and always friendly. Our drinks were great! We didn’t get a chance to eat (just stooped in for a drink) but will definitely be back! They also have a cozy dog friendly outdoor space we are excited to utilize. Overall had a great time at The Neighborhood and will be back.

Yelp
Must try! Wonderful little restaurant with a fun menu, great pizza and pasta and a rotating menu with a fun twist. Can't wait to go back and try some of the deserts. The owner and staff are professional yet very friendly and you can tell they want every customer to have the best experience.

Yelp
We arrived early on Halloween night around 5pm. It's right on California and Fauntleroy. Next to Starbucks on corner. We parked in the back and entered from the rear. Place wasn't busy and my wife and I sat down right away. She had a Lemonchello and I had a Cider. We had happy hour meatballs and bread that were delish! We ordered a combination pizza. Came out in reasonable time. First crust was done well and had a good chew but was cooked well enough and was thin enough not to be soggy. Sauce didn't overpower other ingredients and cheese and toppings were fresh. Green peppers sliced thin enough to cook so they were done. Really decent pizza for the price. Really happy with the experience. Shows they care about the food. Will go back.

Yelp
Rad Mom Happy Hour review #1 We 8 have been doing happy hours for 9 years. It started at Shelter 5 in Lincoln Park and as our kids grew and didn't need us as much, moved to local restaurants in West Seattle. I haven't written a review on our behalf until NOW. So it shall begin with The Neighborhood. 8 ladies on a Friday evening? Check. Seating for us? Check. No stressed peeps because of the large party? Check. Pretty full of people? Check. Amazing food? Check. Amazing service? Check. Clean? Check. 2 bathrooms that are clean and well stocked (ummmmm. we have teenagers and need bathrooms that are amazing.) Check. Separate check accommodations? Check. (we didn't need this, but it was offered.) Will we come back? Absolutely. Okay. Seriously. This was one of the best happy hours we have had in West Seattle. Jennifer was our goddess server, Jenny was behind the bar. Here is how it went: E, J, and I arrived first and ordered Happy Hour Meatballs (served as a trio with 3 pieces of olive oiled focaccia) at $9. E and I got beers ($6) and J got a tall cocktail ($10). The meatballs were amazing, not too much marinara, the focaccia was delightful...light and filling at the same time. (okay, I also ate E's focaccia). S arrived next and got a glass of happy hour wine ($1 off normal price). Then J and K arrived and ordered the Happy Hour meatballs and hummus, a beer and a glass of wine. Meatballs have been described so let me talk about the hummus plate. Fresh red bell peppers, slices of cucumbers, thick sliced carrots, and spicy garbanzo beans resting on the incredibly flavorful hummus. J ordered some focaccia on the side to dip in the hummus. Again, focaccia has been described, but I want to give another shout out to it's perfection. YEAH!! M and Y arrived next, ordered another round of meatballs and a couple of sodas. The noise level was perfect...no loud music (omg, am I turning into my parents?) The temperature was perfect! (perimenopause!!) Jennifer was AMAZING!! (she said she was in training but we, all being previous service peeps, did NOT believe her!) She was attentive, checking on us individually (food and drink) and collectively (water). Like I said, she offered to separate our bill (but can I ask you, if you are a large group, to offer to figure it out on your own? I wish I did that...my only regret at The Neighborhood.) After I ordered my family the spaghetti and 3 meatballs (to go) to bring home, my happy hour meatballs, my wedge salad, my 3 (oops) beers, my bill was $70 and I left a cash tip. They prefer credit card payments. Factor in that credit card charge of between 1.4 and 3.3% for each transaction. It's a cost of doing business that impacts the business so much. And cash is an added expense to deal with. So pay with your card and tip with your cash, if you can!! We have gone our separate ways for the night but I did put out a request to add to this. Here is J's comment: 'Meatballs are to die for. Careful of the hummus spicy bite!' In summary. PLEASE take our advice, moms, dads, peeps, even KIDS!! Come to The Neighborhood in Morgan Junction, West Seattle. Bang for your buck is relevant to each individual. Perfect food and service? That's for ALL to enjoy. Happy Hours, RMHH PS. I completely forgot about the Wedge Salad. ( I did have 3 beers. Oops. ORDER THE WEDGE. It is perfect. S had some pro tip advice: ask for it to be chopped. The romaine was crispy and fresh, the bacon was crisp, the tomatoes actually tasted like tomatoes, the blue cheese (chunks) were not overwhelming and the blue cheese (dressing) was a perfect light coating. Yelp
This restaurant is warm, welcoming, and very kid-friendly. We were greeted warmly as soon as we walked in and waited about 15 minutes for a table. We ordered a couple of pizzas, a pasta, and a few drinks -- everything was tasty and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the kids were surprisingly happy the whole time. They also have great happy hour deals. I'll definitely be coming back to check it out again.

Gerald L.

Yelp
Food was delicious, well priced and generous in portions. Creative cocktails and good wine list featuring local wines. Service was friendly and efficient. There was also a special menu featuring Indian and Thai menu items. They also do a fundraiser dinner on Wednesdays to support local institutions. Definitely a place to go to in the neighborhood. Thanks!!!

Yelp
Great Happy Hour!! Had the smash burger, upgraded to new heights. Excellent service , Highly recommend stopping by.

Yelp
We had such a great experience here! We shared a pear pizza), the wedge salad, and finished with the ginger cake topped with caramel drizzle and Husky ice cream. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and felt thoughtfully prepared. The pizza had a perfectly crisp crust and fresh toppings, including vibrant microgreens that gave it a healthy, elevated touch. The wedge salad was crisp and satisfying -- a great balance to the richness of the pizza. But the real showstopper? That ginger cake. Warm, spiced just right, and paired beautifully with the creamy Husky ice cream and that luscious caramel drizzle. It was indulgent without being too heavy. Service was friendly and welcoming from start to finish. You could tell the staff cared about the food and the customer experience. We left feeling full but not weighed down -- everything was fresh, healthy, and full of flavor. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
West Seattle just got a hidden gem, and it deserves way more attention than it's getting. This newly opened restaurant and bar completely blew me away. From the moment we walked in, the customer service was flawless. The host was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The ambience is dim lighting with a cozy yet elevated vibe that makes you want to linger over every bite and sip. And the food? Honestly, it rivals some Michelin-rated spots I've been to. Their take on pizza is nothing short of brilliant. Creative toppings, balanced flavors, and a crust that's pure perfection. It's crisp on the outside, soft and glutinous on the inside, without a hint of that chewy rubber texture you sometimes get. The rest of the menu was just as impressive, making it hard to pick a favorite dish. It's almost criminal how few people know about this place right now. If you're in West Seattle and you care about incredible food, outstanding service, and a gorgeous atmosphere, this should be your next stop.

Yelp
Today, we chose The Neighborhood to celebrate my twin granddaughters and youngest daughter's birthday. There is a free parking lot behind the restaurant. If you head to the restaurant from there, there is an outdoor patio. The restaurant staff set up a table for birthday. We have a total of 12 people, including 7 adults and 5 kids. Everyone ordered drinks, but the cocktails are delicious, so I recommend them. Even I, who can't drink this cocktail, can enjoy the slightly tangy taste of El Barrio. The pizza was delicious last time, so ordered the combination pizza, fruit belongs on pizza, aren't we a pear pizza, and mac & cheese pizza. The pizza has delicious dough and toppings that you can't see anywhere else. Also, ordered alfredo, meatballs with house bread, gnocchi from the pasta menu, 2 of chicken parma from entrees menu. Among them, the neighborhood rolls, an apptizer, have an impressive taste, and I recommend the pasta, gnocchi, and arn't we a pear pizza. I like the name of the menu and it has a taste that doesn't disappoint. I'm glad we decided to have a cozy birthday party here. Thank you.

Suzy E.

Yelp
I ordered online for pick up. They were very friendly on the phone. I ordered Chicken fettuccine Alfredo. The Alfredo was delicious unfortunately there was no chicken. Broccolini had great flavors but was raw. I had to finish it in the microwave. The hummus was interesting. It was spicy and slightly sweet from the carrots. It came with great crudite. The bread was meh. My husband had the pizza. The crust was very good. The sauce was a bit thin and slightly undercooked. When I got there it was slammed. I think they were overwhelmed and that's why things were not cooked enough or not even there(chicken). I would try it again. It is promising. But it was a little disappointing for the price.

Yelp
This is a place in a good location and obviously from the name wanting to be a regular go to for the locals. Tried it last week. The service was good. Very friendly and prompt. The food was good. Had a wedge salad which they nicely split for us to share. Had a pizza which was also tasty. My only complaint about this establishment would be the ambience or lack of it I should say. I think for it to become a neighborhood regular go to it needs some coziness. Definitely tone the lighting down. Some red and white checkered tablecloths. Maybe a candle or vase on the table. Focus more on the decor. As it is now its very bright and stark. Not a place i wanted to hang out in.

Yelp
When a new pizza place opened in my neighborhood my husband and I had to check it out. We stopped in for dinner last night and I'm so glad we did. We shared the broccolini appetizer (delicious!) and the special pizza which was yummy! They also offer many other tasty options. Can't wait to try the homemade gnocchi when we go back. The vibe was very welcoming and the service was friendly and helpful. West Seattle peeps, go give this new restaurant some love!

Lynn I.

Yelp
Wish there were 10 star options available! The food was outstanding and the staff were extremely engaging, which made it feel like we were truly in an extended family in our very own neighborhood. We loved every bite of our pizza and salad and the limoncello tart with blueberries was mouthwatering. See you again soon!!

Yelp
Five star neighborhood restaurant! This is a very cozy, warm restaurant with delicious food and extremely friendly staff. I'm super happy that they've opened up just right down the hill. Since they're so close, we'll be visiting quite often!
google avatar

Yelp
I meant to take a picture of the beef stroganoff, but I ate it too quickly. Maybe the best beef stroganoff I've ever had ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. If the lady who handed me my food hadn't already assured me that they were adding it to the menu, I would insist on it.
google avatar

Ajay M.

Yelp
I came in for the first time as a solo diner in sat at the bar. I had the spaghetti marinara and a local pint and it was great! They were about 3/4 full at the restaurant but we're very efficient, attentive, and it was a great vibe. I am looking forward to stopping by for a quick bite or cold bevie more often. How do you recommend you give this new local spot a visit!
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Went here for the first time for my birthday dinner with a group of great friends. Food and company was fantastic. We 5 attempted to try the entire menu--ricotta meatballs, not your NB humus, chicken parma, gnocchi, several pizzas--and a few other items--all of them delish. Truly. And, the staff was incredibly friendly and warm, service was fantastic. Been back twice since then. Still haven't finished trying the menu, but will be back for more attempts.
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
The food and service was amazing. I told all my friends about it and will be coming back. We came during a really hot day and their AC ended up breaking and were told that they were gonna close early bc it was going to be too hot for their kitchen staff and we had no problem with that. I love that they really care about their staff too. 10/10

Yelp
Excellent food and service! Started with the wedge salad that had an amazing five onion dressing. Next up was from the specials menu, the "That'll Do Pig" pizza. It had all of my favorite pizza ingredients - prosciutto, arugula and balsamic! Love the atmosphere and the staff were all very welcoming. Excited to have a great new place in the neighborhood!

Richard T.

Yelp
Came in tonight craving their stroganoff! Ryan and Haley were running around with smiles and the vibe was amazing. The staff here is always smiling and making sure all of us are taken care of. My stroganoff came out hot and delicious! I absolutely love this little gem. Keep doing everything you do. Yum!

Bill P.

Yelp
We stopped in just after their opening on a Sunday, what a great experience. We both ordered homemade strawberry lemonade and shared a salad (brought on separate plates & enough for each of us). I had their beef stroganoff and my wife got "rolling with ragu", a wrapped lasagna beef & pork noodles covered in a marinara sauce. Prices were very reasonable and service was outstanding!
google avatar

Yelp
Service was outstanding, pizza and salad were delicious, great cocktails, lively atmosphere, can't wait to go back. Jamie Julieann

Yelp
I've tried six of their dishes, every one as delicious as the next. Every dish is perfect. The salad dressing was so good, everything was seasoned perfect and very tasty. The service is amazing, friendly and courteous. It's as cute as a neighborhood restaurant Hence: Their name "The Neighborhood"

Amy L.

Yelp
Wow. I'm amazed by the response of the Neighborhood on my recent take out order and glad to know the effort and care put into making things better. I'm happy to hear of the changes in response to my experience, and eager to give them a second chance.

Yelp
Excellent service. Food was really good. Highly recommend the combination pizza. The pear salad also was tasty. Restaurant was clean.

N B.

Yelp
I had the calzone which was average.. the filling was only found in half of the calzone. My wife had Pesto Cream pasta dish which also was just ok. They would not allow us to order a side salad. The only option was an entree portion. We both had 2 beers. $97
google avatar

Joni B.

Yelp
Everything was great!! My fave was the combo pizza with pickled serrano. The best part... our funny waitress.
google avatar

Lledo E.

Yelp
The pizza was so delicious, and the service was above and beyond. Super relaxed vibe too, family friendly (we have a small child). We'll come back soon.
google avatar

Yelp
Really delicious stop. Nice happy hour options, the parmesan chips with house made marinara and onion dressing was great and the pear salad was amazing. They also had really yummy drinks and love that they support local wine makers! Definitely coming back.

Kerin B.

Yelp
We LOVE The Neighborhood. In fact, it could be called Cheers! Besides the delish food the atmosphere is friendly, like a neighborhood get together and the owner, Jenny, will know your name , remember it and you will feel right at home. There is no place like this in the Fauntleroy Junction of West Seattle. Full service with very engaging staff (no order and pickup of the food you pay for), they feature new takes on pizza (or be happy to let you build your own) and give you great suggestions. Ours: don't miss the "Neighborhood Roll" appetizer, to-die-for salad 6503 iceberg wedge/blue cheese salad and an amazing pasta dish. Sitting at the bar conversing with neighbors and staff is just like being on the program Cheers. This is a treasure and predictably the New Neighborhood Bar that will be part of W. Seattle history years from now.

Greg K.

Yelp
Excellent service and delicious pizzas and salads. It also has a cozy atmosphere that is perfect for good conversation.

Yelp
Great tasting menu- especially the wedge salad! Enjoyed the pasta dishes as well. Definitely will come again !

Yelp
Welcome to the neighborhood! Stopped in for dinner shared a salad, I had the spaghetti squash and hubby had the chicken parm. Salad was all fresh, squash was delicious and chicken parm was too good to share. No doubt we will be back!

Yelp
I went to The Neighborhood restaurant and bar with my mother, on the day of their grand opening, earlier this week. We had a great experience! Everyone was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Our food and beverages all came out efficiently, and we thoroughly enjoyed each item. We tried a customized pizza with a white sauce base, the spaghetti squash, the house red-blend wine and their twist on an old fashioned cocktail (with their limoncello mixed in - very tasty!). We also had a chance to sample the gnocchi. We enjoyed everything we tried. I liked that the spaghetti squash dish had a fresh taste, with lots of vegetables included. The white sauce base on the pizza had a great flavor, combined with a nice, crispy crust. We also liked the slight cinnamon-nutmeg flavor in the gnocchi. The ambience was inviting and local-feeling, with historical, framed photographs of West Seattle. All in all, they are off to an excellent start and we will definitely be returning -- we welcome The Neighborhood to the neighborhood!

James P.

Yelp
Great food, friendly service. Easy parking. The pizza here was perfectly cooked and extremely flavorful. Favorite was the baked potato pizza but the garden pizza was a close second. Wedge salad is a must try. Nice shaded outdoor patio in the back.

Scott M.

Yelp
Finally found the best pizza in west seattle. Oh, and the gnocchi was great! And the butterscotch pudding was out of this world. And it was the best ginger cake I've ever had. The service was AWESOME: servers were personable and attentive. I cannot recommend highly enough!

Anil S.

Yelp
After an initial hiccup, we reordered from this place, and got good results: a nice Fettuccini Alfredo, rich and tasty; and some decent gnocchi. The manager was very responsive to our prior concerns, and worked hard to make it right. Much appreciated.

Yelp
As the name suggests, this newly opened local business is on its way to becoming a neighborhood staple. They have everything to fit the bill: nice people serving good pizza and pasta and great cocktails! We tried going in recently when it was 92degrees outside. I'm not sure how long they had been open yet but their AC unit had broken and they had to close their kitchen as it was well over 100degrees in there. As a customer, I appreciate them making the call to close their kitchen for the sake of their staff, no matter how much pressure they'd be feeling as a new business to not turn customers away. They were very nice and so apologetic. We came back a couple days later and once again they were very nice. They guided us through menu options and despite being very busy gave us some personal attention. As I'm vegetarian, we ordere their Alfredo pasta, the vegetarian pizza (subbed out red sauce instead of the white sauce since we paired it with the Alfredo, no extra charge for the substitution), and their house salad. Everything was amazing. We will be back, and I'd highly recommend giving them a try. Also worthy of note: I noticed someone picking up some to go pizzas so this could be my new go-to if I want some dinner while at Beveridge Place Pub.

Lori T.

Yelp
This was our third visit to The Neighborhood, and each has been an excellent experience. The food and cocktails are great (the combo pizza and "neighborhood roll" are some of our favorites). On our most recent visit we sat at the bar and got to chat with Jenny, one of the owners, who was super welcoming and personable. She shared info on a lot of the local distillers, and had great recommendations for food and beverages. The space is homey and comfortable, and all of the staff have been so friendly on each visit--like they truly enjoy working there. This is a great addition to the area--highly recommended!

Stephany M.

Yelp
I shop across the street at grocery store and live in the area and kept seeing the gran opening sign so I decided to stop in! My husband was busy finishing work stuff at home so I went solo and grabbed us dinner to go. Instead of ordering online I wanted to check out the vibe and sat at the bar and ordered take out! I felt welcomed and invited! It is a true neighborhood joint with great pizza and cocktails! ( the other dishes looked great but I got 2 pizzas to go). I will definitely be back solo or with him or friends in the near future to try more dishes on the menu! 10 out of 10! Go check it out for yourself!

Jillian M.

Yelp
Their Wedge Salad was THE BEST I've had in a lifetime spent ordering them in fine dining and pasta spots across Seattle. It had really generous portions and was filling for a reasonable cost. My husband got a basic cheese pizza, which was perfectly balanced with a flavorful sauce and cheeses that made it exceed expectations! They made simple food fabulous, and we will be back...later in the week! So cool to have a new casual dining place like this in the Morgan Junction.

Anne W.

Yelp
We went last week for the first time, and were pleasantly surprised by the bright and freshened up interior. Great service, and wonderful food. We shared a wedge salad with one of the best dressings I've ever had, light as a feather meatballs, and chicken parm that was really good. Don't miss the butterscotch pudding! Most definitely coming back soon

joanne o.

Yelp
Enjoyed the meatballs the wedge salad and pizza. All the food was well prepared and delicious. Family friendly atmosphere with very attentive staff. Fun place to drop in - excellent bar to enjoy. Great addition to the neighborhood.

Hudson C.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor a stop by this new West Seattle spot! Such a good vibe and the food was stellar!! The salads are amazing and you have a choice to add a meatball and it did not disappoint. The pizza was perfection and I can't wait to be back to try other goodies on the menu!!

Irene S.

Yelp
Just visited for our first time. The food was outstanding. What really delighted me was having the option to substitute spaghetti squash for any of their pastas! I had a large portion of spaghetti squash with a marinara sauce and grilled chicken. My husband had prosciutto rolls. Both were delicious, as were the desserts--ginger cake with Husky vanilla ice cream for me and butterscotch pudding for him. We chatted with two of the owners, Jenny and Brian, and both were warm and personable. We'll definitely go back soon!
