Boichik, One of the Bay Area’s Best Bagel Shops, Is Opening Three New Stores in San Francisco | Eater SF

"A Los Angeles–based booze-free concept, New Bar is opening at 2181A Union Street by the end of March, taking over the former plant shop Sill and offering daily tastings of the 40 to 50 nonalcoholic drinks that will be sold on-site; founder and CEO Brianda Gonzalez said the move made sense because many of their customers already shop from San Francisco." - Paolo Bicchieri

The girls were so extremely helpful in picking great flavors and functional options. I’ve been sober on and off for the last 4 years, but this last round I’ve been sober for 1 year and couple months. My boyfriend even got to try some new stuff that he’s now trying to bring to Chicago where he’s at. I’m so happy to have a place like this that I can still get that feeling of shopping and imbibing with other rad people.

Really friendly staff and I have been coming in to try a bunch of stuff, so far my favorites include sparkling rose, the zero proof reposado ! I kept going back, especially after trying the zero proof marg at Union St festival. It is like the real thing. I went back yesterday and talked to Natalie - she was super knowledgeable and the spice nectar gave the zero proof Marg a burning finish to mimic the alcohol. Wow ! Also liked the G&T in a can !

Truly the cutest store in San Francisco. Such a happy space and the staff is all incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. If you’re in the area definitely stop by!

Great new addition to the neighborhood. I drink but I have also been incorporating a few NA options into my weekdays/weekends and New Bar has great selections all around. I have yet to try any of the bottled spirits but I've had the opportunity to try several RTD options. Each time I've stopped by, they have been very helpful with great recommendations and anecdotes. Excited for my next visit!

Happily stumbled upon The New Bar while exploring the neighborhood! The vibe is modern and welcoming, and the staff are SUPER kind and knowledgeable, helping you find exactly what you need. I enjoyed browsing and admiring the diverse selection. They’ve got everything from rich non-alcoholic wines to unique spirits for mocktails, plus healthy drinks like adaptogenic elixirs they refer to as ‘functionals’. My husband and I have cut out alcohol recently, so we’re happy to have found this spot. We’re already excited to come back, talk recipes with the staff, and pick up new goodies for our next picnic or social event! If you’re in SF, this spot is a must-visit for great non-alcoholic options!

Love this location! Carley is amazing!!! I thought she was the owner at first, because she is so knowledgeable and thoughtful about everyone’s experience. I can’t wait to come back and try more of their other drinks.

Yelp
Fantastic boutique, non-alcoholic spot. They have wine, liquor, and other things. As someone who is trying to cut back on alcohol, it's nice to see that you can still make yourself a mocktail with quality ingredients. I enjoyed sampling some of the sparkling wine here that had been dealcoholized. They even had a red wine featuring grapes from Heringer Estates in Clarksburg! Wasn't so much a fan of that one however. Great spot for gifts and they also had some cool glassware too!

Yelp
I visited The New Bar for a tasting event the same weekend as the Union St Fest. It was cool to see a space dedicated entirely to non-alcoholic beverages. While I'm not 100% sober, I have never been a heavy drinker, and I've been reducing my alcohol intake even more this year to focus on my fitness routine. Everything at The New Bar was beautifully designed and thoughtfully displayed. I would love to come back sometime and pick up some drinks for myself or as a gift for a friend.

Yelp
Meet the New Bar of Cow Hollow, the Boisson of tomorrow. I used to think about having at least a bottle of alcoholic beverage, but since the New Bar has all non-alcoholic beverages, I feel right at home with biggest tiny interior setup! Beers, wines, and even spirits; just like the time when Boisson first had a Yelp elite event we all try to sample. The people working here were so vibrant and so friendly, I be more than glad to ask questions if I have one. I must have admitted when I set foot here that they're about to start a happy hour. Nevertheless, I was here as a happygolucky customer who's so crazy about trying many different non-alcoholic concoctions. Hopefully, the New Bar won't permanently close just like Boisson.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place because it is a super cute store, but it was difficult to justify the prices of everything after reading the ingredients label and seeing that most are just flavored water. I think it's a really great store providing drinks to folks who prefer not to drink alcohol but again I just think some of the nonalcoholic liquors in particular are overpriced for what they are. You are essentially paying for a fancy bottle. What I do think is really neat and would like to try more of is their nonalcoholic wine because it is real wine that they remove the alcohol from in an extra step of the wine making process. The lady working there was very friendly and was very helpful to educate me about non-alcoholic beverages.

Yelp
Ok this is a great new non-alcoholic bottle shop, which I've actually never seen, so I was excited to look around today! Coincidentally there was a tasting going on for Gruvi, one of the companies, so I got to have a free tasting! Their selection was large, with non-alcoholic wines, beer, and other adaptive drinks. The staff was super nice and informative as well. Every day they said they are sampling new items at the "bar," so I'm looking forward to trying some more of their options!

Yelp
Huge selection of non-alcoholic beer, spirits (I recommend Cut Above), and wine. The space is bright and has good vibes. Check it out.

Yelp
I was initiallynot thrilled with my experience but the Founder & CEO, Brianda Gonzalez, really turned it around. She called to apologize, explained how personally she took the feedback and not only refunded my order (didn't arrive on time) but also sent me additional bottles at no cost. In today's non-human-touch world, The New Bar goes out of their way to deliver a personalized and meaningful experience. Being sober at the holidays is a challenge and having the tools (i.e. a great non-alcoholic wine) made all the difference for me!
