As a foreigner I was treated warmly kindly and with respect. The most important thing - the food - is exceptional. Truly great.

This restaurant is simply amazing, I don’t understand how this restaurant ‘only’ scores a 4.1 at the moment, maybe people are reviewing the wrong restaurant, because there are so many restaurants in a tiny space. About this actual restaurant: Really nice and fun people are working here. Amazing food. I would like to recommend the eggplant with sweet miso, the assorted sashimi platter, the fatty tuna, the Wagyu beef, the squid+sea urchin sashimi, the butter squid, seabream tempura and the sweat potatoes (somewhat in this order). A lot of these dishes were the best we’ve ever had. Best eggplant ever, best fatty tuna ever, etc. This is our last day of three weeks of amazing food and experiences in Japan and it couldn’t have been a better way to celebrate the end of our trip! Thank you!

The New World is a small, Michelin Guide-listed Izakaya we visited in the basement of Shinsaibashi PARCO. The relaxed atmosphere and open counter setup gave us a chance to watch the chefs in action while we enjoyed our meal. We started with the specialty assorted side dish, a beautifully arranged mix of seafood, pork, fried veggies, and tempura. The variety of flavours and textures kept us engaged with each bite. We also tried the assorted sashimi platter, which included fresh tuna, mackerel, salmon and more. The nigiri was especially memorable for its melt-in-your-mouth richness. It was a pleasant dining experience and a spot we’d recommend checking out if you’re in the area. My YouTube: @BenCanTravel My Instagram: @BenCanTravel

I'm a few weeks removed from the meal at this point, but it was my favorite meal in Osaka and possibly Japan. People seem to complain about the price, but I think it was great and the price was fine. Everything tastes good and you can tell that every single item was thought about diligently prior to being put on the menu. I also liked the vibe and attention. The lady that took care of us was maybe in her 50's. I thought it was cute when I asked her a question that she would ask the chef. It reminded me of a mother asking her son something while he's trying to work. She was awesome. I didn't interact much with the chef, but I enjoyed watching him work. He is definitely in the zone when he's working, and I appreciate that. The wagyu roast beef: delicious The fig butter: delicious The tuna forehead: delicious Even the potato salad was delicious! If you want to eat where you can taste the care put into the food, you'll be happy with this place. You may be ablet to walk-in and get a seat, but we called the day before to ask for a seat.

Innovative but very loud We had a great evening here: Fast and friendly service, and of course great food! Traditional Japanese dishes with a modern twist. New ideas skilfully implemented with textures and flavours and beautifully but not forcedly presented - I'd love to come back! But: it is very, very loud! This is part of the concept of Izakaya restaurants, but besides the music from the surrounding restaurants - it's a food hall without many walls - the staff also shout, often and seemingly randomly. I would definitely take earplugs next time.

Food is great. Got the assortment platter. Everything was a mystery to eat and tasted delicious. Luckily we got a table by walking in. Great service. On the downside, there're a lot of rules here though: a cover fee of 380 yen which includes an appetizer, 1 drink and 1 food item minimum. Ordering through their website was convenient. Good, loud experience. Located on the b2 level in the corner.

Think Japanese tapas - fun flavors and dishes! We really enjoyed ourselves! The sashimi specifically had great presentation, which included a frog carved cucumber. (: Additional standouts were the miso eggplant, the chicken with special sauce, and chicken tempura - I wish I took more pictures, but all I have are empty plates.

A gem of a find at the basement food area of Parco mall, this izakaya serves a modern take on traditional food, with duck breast, fig butter on toast, squid stir fried in butter and 2 year aged potatoes. Sublime flavors in a casual setting. And decent drink selections available. Do make a reservation if you’re in the area.
