The New Zealand Whisky Collection - Cellar Door

First time whiskey tasting experience in New Zealand and have a good time with friends here. We have choose the Journey and there is total 4 different type of Whiskey and my favorite is South Island. And the owner have give us try Oamaruvian Cask Strength as well and it’s really strong whiskey. He offered us Whiskey River which is taste really nice. Strongly recommended to drop by here if pass by Oamaru

Have had 2 bottles sent over to me in Perth. Was finally in a position to call in personally only by chance today on my way from Dunedin to Christchurch before flying back to Perth. Thought I would call in and buy a bottle for my parents 55th wedding anniversary, as they regularly drank Wilson’s back in the day from Dunedin, and one for my sister. Admittedly yes you close at 4, but it was 3.45 when we walked in, only to have you almost rudely say “I’m closing! I have something to do, I’m closing up” I was most disappointed.

What an extraordinary customer service experience curated by Hineau! I visited the store in mid-November; being remiss to thank her for the time she spent with me. Being a former whiskey drinker, Hineau found a way to have me experience the whiskey without drinking. She applied alcohol to my hands, which I rubbed together to experience the whiskey's aroma. What a heavenly approach! If you have a chance, visit the store. All sorts of whiskies to choose from. There will be something for you or a gift for your favourite whiskey aficionado!

I had a lovely sit down to taste the main set of whiskies and also tried the 30 year - old, one is more easily convinced for another taste after 4 whiskies. I was walking home :) The lady who was conducting the tastings was a pleasant person to talk with, the tasting room also draws in many foreigners and i met some cool people there. The less potent Oamaruvian was my favourite. Especially with the home-made Christmas cake that was given to me. Must stop in Oamaru if you are a whisky lover.

Super tasty whisky and 10/10 staff. Informative and amazing taste journey from new make to cask strength. Could have bought everything and almost did. You can even bottle a small bottle yourself. Can recommend the experience even at 11 am ;)

Finally found the whisky spot where I feel relaxed. Not in Scotland. Not in Ireland. That's New Zealand! And I have to say these drums are beautiful!

First try for whisky testing, very good experience. The owner very friendly and explain all the whisky to us. Is recommended to try it in Oamaru.
