Amazing food at The Newport! We were in Scotland recently for our anniversary, and had the chance to enjoy the 5 course tasting menu.
There is a lovely little bar on the main floor for before dinner drinks, and then two different levels of tables. Very cute rooms, and our corner table had a wonderful view out over the water.
The food was locally sourced and absolutely spectacular, each course thoughtfully prepared and then explained by our server. It is a bit more adventurous (much to the dismay of the Americans beside us who wanted "regular food, but if you are looking to enjoy a place where you can enjoy creative preparations of local food, this is absolutely your spot. Service was a bit slow (largely due to the large booking beside us), and as it is a tasting menu, leave yourself plenty of time to enjoy. Thoughtful sine list to accompany our food, and a surprise plate at the end acknowledging our anniversary (which I had mentioned in my booking notes). Would definitely recommend and we will return the next time we are in Scotland.
