The Nici (Bournemouth, Dorset) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Bournemouth has seen its share of seaside hotels, but none quite like the Nici, a West Cliff classic whose recent renovation leaves it looking more like Miami Beach than anyone could reasonably expect from the Dorset coast. Its 80 refurbished rooms and suites are a vision in minimalist white, gold, and green, and its public spaces lean in to the tropical inspiration — Old Harry Rocks serves Mediterranean fare in a driftwood-decorated space, while the South Beach restaurant and bar is precisely what its name suggests." - Tablet Hotels

The Nici | Best places to stay in Bournemouth

"Blessed with golden beaches, leafy parks and with easy access from London, Bournemouth has – like so many British seaside resorts – always been let down by mediocre, old-fashioned hotels.  All that changed earlier this year, however, with the opening of the Nici; an art-filled, super-chic hotel that feels as though it’s been airlifted straight off Miami beach. The flagship property and first of a new chain of hotels from renowned hotelier Nicolas Roach, the Nici drew rave reviews when it opened in late Spring. The hotel is a clever restoration and renovation of a beautiful grande dame of a building, oozing character and charm. Out back, there are spacious grounds leading to cliffs, and below them, some of Bournemouth’s best (and quietest) sandy beaches. Internally, it has a contemporary light and breezy ‘Miami South Beach’ vibe that makes you really feel like you’re on holiday. Food is inventive and delicious, and can be served out on the terrace with wonderful sea views. At the time of writing, a world-class spa is being built in the grounds. The town centre is a 5-minute taxi ride, but this is very much a destination hotel you’re unlikely to want to leave. It’s already a local institution and recognised as the place to be seen by Bournemouth’s young, hip crowd. " - Annabelle Thorpe

Had such a lovely time at The Nici! The staff were so friendly and helpful, letting us know we’d arrived a bit early for lunch and suggesting a few things to do. We enjoyed a coffee outside before heading in once the kitchen opened. Our waiter, Andre, was brilliant – friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious, and we ended up staying for three hours!! I’d definitely recommend and will be back next time I’m in the area.

We stayed for one night and had a wonderful experience. We booked a spa break in a Deluxe Sea View room, which was spacious, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable—the bed was especially cosy. The complimentary spiced rum was a lovely touch, and the view from our small balcony was absolutely stunning—perfect for enjoying a drink while taking it all in. We dined at the South Beach restaurant in the evening and really enjoyed our meal. The next morning, we made use of the spa facilities, which were excellent. The back and neck massage was particularly relaxing and enjoyable. Overall, it was a memorable stay, and this hotel will definitely stay with us.

Currently staying at the Nici. |We had a meal in the ‘South Beach’ restaurant tonight and we can not fault it. |Our waiter was a man called Andre and he was so lovely, amazingly attentive and nothing was too much trouble. ||The rest of the hotel is just gorgeous. We are staying in a ‘cosy’ double but it’s so roomy, comfy and clean. ||The spa is very nice, clean and well looked after. Unable to comment on treatments at the moment as that’s not booked until tomorrow but everything else is perfect :)

Such a lovely time at the restaurant! Andre was great and really lovely, helping us to be settled outside then when it was getting chilly, helping us find a cosy area to continue our lunch! We were also met at the door by a lady who was very warm and accommodating and helped us make our decision to eat at the restaurant for coffee, lunch and dessert in the end! Amazing food & drinks, very impressed and will return again.

We booked as a family of 12 for a long weekend, had a fantastic break. The hotel was clean and all the staff were friendly, a particular shout out to Andre in the South Beach restaurant who looked after us for two nights & was very helpful with allergens. Only downside is they advertise roasts on Sundays and do not specify times but it’s only lunchtime so they need to update their website as we weren’t the only ones caught out! ||The kids club in the garden was closed despite the website suggesting there are activities during half term.

I am from Bournemouth and this is hands down my favourite escapism spot in town. When you enter The Nici you are transported into a space where you take a deep breath and just relax. As soon as you enter their Miami vibes entrance you soothed with the signature scent of the hotel, which for me means time to relax. Then I just love everything I'm surrounded by from the décor, the atmosphere, the sea views, the vibe, the food, the cocktails! The private cinema, the spa, the multiple restaurants, it just goes on and on. I've booked the hotel for my last 2 Birthdays and I can say it is now a tradition I will continue. I love the hotel so much I confidently set up a corporate rate for all our VIP customers who visit and our sales VPs who have now also fallen in love with all the hotel offers. We are blessed to have such decadent cool luxury to escape to in Bournemouth - needless to say I can recommend :)

I had the pleasure of enjoying a spa day here, gifted by my sibling, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Lunch was included (beverages not included, which was perfectly fine), and both the food and service exceeded expectations. I would especially like to commend Steve, who served me during lunch—he was friendly, professional, and approachable, making the experience even more enjoyable. The spa itself was beautiful, and my full body massage was truly exceptional. I highly recommend treating yourself to a spa day here—it was an absolute delight.

The hotel is overpriced and I would not stay here again. The service is slow and there is a lack of attention to detail. For example, we had a baby cot in our room, even though on our booking it was clear there were no children as guests. The bathroom sink is poorly designed; there is very little space between the tap and the basin to be able to wash your hands without touching the tap. There was stains on the carpet and the base of the bed. Upon check in, dirty cups were left outside in the corridor from other guests, when we checked out the next day it was still there; this was unpleasant as it was near our room and I had asked for these to be cleared. The continental breakfast was very disappointing; there were very little savoury options and lots of sugary options. It looked like someone had used the serving tongs for the cheese on the meat items. The ascetics of the hotel is nice and the toiletries are good. The shower was good and the bed was comfortable. It's located near the beach; however, it's far away from good restaurants. There is a nice outdoor swimming pool, however, it was very busy and no loungers were available.
