Looking for a good craft cocktail spot in the Grand Rapids area, check out The Nightwatch Lounge. This location uses a mixologists approach to cocktails, as all syrups, citrus, and garnishes are prepared in-house. Drinks are well balanced and flavorful. The staff here is very welcoming, and as a result, customer service is outstanding. Drinks only, so plan solid sustenance accordingly. Check for times and hours of operation. Weekends and evenings get busy. It's definitely worth a look, cheers, and I'll see you there.

The night watch is an experience like no other! It has a speakeasy vibe, tucked away and easily missed, making it a hidden gem. The interior is incredibly cute, with a moody atmosphere, great lighting, and cocktails that are simply incredible. Just be prepared to pay around $20 per cocktail, as it’s definitely an expensive experience, but I believe it’s well worth it! On a side note, the staff was a bit cold and seemed a bit unfriendly, which may have just been an off night. I’d definitely go back sometime. If you’re looking for a fun date spot or a nightcap with friends, definitely give the night watch a try!

This place is amazing and my new favorite lounge in West Michigan! Great place for a date, with amazing service! The ambiance is absolutely incredible with perfect lighting, some of the most comfortable seating with absolutely amazing and creative drinks. Even the artwork is authentic from a museum in Amsterdam due to some connections they have. The drinks were out of this world with tremendous cocktails including an amazing old fashioned and some tasty concoctions that I haven’t seen before and decently priced. Highly recommend checking this place out.

A beautiful hidden gem in down town Grand Rapids! Staff was amazing and friendly. They made recommendations for cocktails that were all great!

The atmosphere is great. Well decorated, quiet and extremely comfortable. The staff was not what I was expecting. Our drinks were severely delayed as 2 of the staff were together in the storage area for some time. Our waiter was chatting with friends at the bar. We stayed for one drink due to the service. Drinks were well made but otherwise I won't return.

My wife and I had an excellent anniversary celebration at The Nightwatch Lounge. Seating was very comfortable and the vibe and decor was beautiful. And of course, the drinks were well-balanced, sophisticated, and delicious. We’ll definitely be coming back!

As I walked in I was a bit shaky as I have social anxiety, yet love to wiggle and dance. The door person was fine to me until she saw my hands shaking and started asking who I was meeting. I shook that off. Went to visit my friend. Couldn’t find where to order. Finally found a seat at the bar. took 20 minutes for a drink menu and sitting at the bar, it took another 20 to yield a server and another bout of sitting while they walked back and forth for said drink. I don’t drink for deliberate reasons and was present for the vibes and to dance. It was a free event, so I was simply ordering to tip and it only seemed worth it as they were clearly too short staffed and the people behind the counter were in fact working their butts off. Kind of expected better service in such a location. Mocktail was gorgeous at least. Actually stunning.

I attempted to impress my friend visiting from New York City by taking her to Nightwatch. I wanted her to experience a great bar right here in GR - big mistake. We were treated with such disdain that we were left reeling. We walked into Nightwatch unaware we were 15 minutes before official open time as the doors were UNLOCKED. Naturally, we walked in - dressed up for the night, ready to spend money. The man at the host stand informed us we were early. We were happy to wait to accommodate the few minutes. However, he said with total disgust, “No, I’m going to need you to leave.” (As if we were unruly vagrants making a scene) So, leave we did! And I was so embarrassed that my friend’s first GR experience was The Nightwatch. I took her to Lumber Barron instead which I highly recommend.

Yelp
Tried out Nightwatch Lounge for the first time! The interior of this place was gorgeous and dim lit! I loved how cozy and nice the seating area was. We were the first ones there on a Thursday night and the host was very kind and so were both bartenders. Looked through the menu and ordered their espresso martini and also the old fashioned. Both drinks were on the pricier side but well worth it. My espresso martini went down easy. I would definitely come back for a drink or two with friends or a good spot for a date :)

Yelp
My husband found a great speakeasy lounge after the Lainey Wilson concert Saturday night. It took a minute to find the entrance to Nightwatch as it's tucked away giving it a secretive vibe. Once you find the door, you go up to the second floor and through the gold door to get to the lounge. It's a small sophisticated space with great lighting, comfy chairs & couches and a bar area with maybe a dozen seats. The cocktails here are creative. Nick made us goldrush cocktails, which is the bourbon version of a bees knees. They were outstanding! Nightwatch is a perfect place for a nightcap. The cocktails average about $20. Well worth it for the atmosphere, intimate setting and creative cocktails.

Yelp
Quite pricey.... Also felt swindled a bit. Total came to $50 with tip for two (good but not great) drinks. One old fashioned and one gin bevvie. Very disappointed and way overpriced to return. Feel like they might have added a service charge or gratuity without telling us. Watch your bill!

Yelp
I've been dying to try this place out. Completely walked past it the first pass, but luckily the concierge was able to help us out and pointed us the inside the right direction. So, speakeasy entrance, achieved! Once we walked in through the gold door, we were able to grab some seats at the bar. The interior is very chic, with plenty of lounge seating and art. I ordered The Nightwatch and my husband ordered the Espresso Martini. His was delicious, mine did not suit my palate at that moment because I neglected to see that it contained absinthe. Had I not indulged in many other libations on Bridge street, I'm positive that I would have enjoyed it more! My drink came with an optional bump of caviar (uncharge of $18) which I considered getting, but I ultimately passed on it as I knew I wouldn't be able to appreciate it to the fullest extent. The prices of the drinks here are indeed quite high compared to other cocktail bars downtown, but it's a nice addition and something different to experience downtown!

Yelp
Cool atmosphere with its stealth location and cozy vibes. A high class speak easy, including high prices. Drinks start around $18, which is a little more than the average craft cocktail. Service was quick.

Yelp
great drinks, espresso martini was fabulous however, pricey, and they add gratuity automatically

Yelp
Great ambiance and drinks, I came from Chicago and Nick made me feel like I was at home! Amazing service hes super knowledgeable and accommodating, I'm coming back to ask for him every time I'm in town!

Yelp
As a lover of great cocktails and Dutch impressionism, this is one of my favorite places in the city

Yelp
The Nightwatch Lounge, located behind mysterious gold doors, delivers on the promise of a super moody, speakeasy vibe. Music sets provide a "left bank" feel and the decor, artwork, bar-back, glassware, seating, contribute to the overall ambiance. Rob and PJ, behind the bar, hand crafted some amazing cocktails and engaged guests with smart, edgy, entertaining conversation. Rob definitely know his way around the bar; dispatching a bespoke cocktail (The Churchill, Down) which was delightfully spirit forward at the same time notably nutty with subtle chocolate notes and hints of vanilla and saline. Think--- derby pie. The Nightwatch Lounge was an amazing end cap to our anniversary celebration. We departed both happy and impressed. Add it to your list; you'll not be disappointed.

Yelp
Cons: - Automatic 20% gratuity charge, even for bad service - Insanely overpriced drinks - Bad cocktails - Arrogant staff - Bad service Pros: - Moody atmosphere - Parking Garage-themed entrance

Yelp
I am a non-alcoholic drinker but love NA cocktails. I ordered a NA strawberry cocktail and it was perfect. The bartenders here are very knowledgeable and work with only the finest ingredients from all over the world. The artwork is one of the finest collections I've ever seen. The couches and seating provide a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. I will return. Stop in for a drink, you'll be amazed!
