The Nikolai Hotel Hamburg - Leonardo Limited Edition

Lovely hotel ideally situated for exploring the Aldstat, the waterfront, Miniature World and the Concert Hall. We had a well designed room overlooking the canal and we found the staff very good, friendly and helpful. Only warning is breakfast at the hotel is expensive unless you want the full works. If you are a light breakfast type go to the Cafe Mozart on the corner and save some money.

Simply fantastic! The rooms were spacious, modern and thoughtfully designed. Extremely helpful and friendly staff who were always ready with great recommendations. Nice location in a not so busy lane of Hamburg.

What a memorable experience my wife and I had for a short weekend whilst in Hamburg at the Sir. Nicely tucked away within a quiet neighbourhood overlooking the canal, the hotel lived up to its theme with quaint and quirky design elements matched with a modern and elegant appeal. Excellent staff at the front of house (designed in such way to make for a personable encounter which I really appreciated). The room was a perfect place to take refuge in, with subdued lighting where needed, and a setup that made for a cozy, library-like feel with two-way curtains to set the mood. absolutely great mattress, and loved the lounge sofa! A+ Do opt in for breakfast as it was delicious with a vast array of tailor-made foods, pastries and fresh juices. If not, you should definitely walk to Marshall Street Coffee and sort a brunch out there ;) Lastly, a sincere thank you to Corinne & Jessica for making our stay that much more pleasant. Two lovely ladies, whom both helped us navigate on things to do in the area, and ones that were just a treat to talk to. Be well, and thank you for your time with us!

We were impressed by how nicely appointed our room was. Very elegant and comfortable. Our room had a nice view to the waterway. Breakfast was very good including eggs benedict and a variety of juices, pastries, fruit, etc. Hotel is quite interesting. Location is great - a short walk to Miniature Wunderland.

It didn’t get 5 starts due to parking and no service at breakfast. parking: there is no onsite parking. leading people to find impossible spots in the street or get a limited spot availability at a 12 min drive away garage. [4 min walk from the hotel] no electric vehicle charging breakfast. they do buffet style it you must order egg dishes or pancake thur their staff. 3 people worked the floor that morning. clearing tables asking for room numbers and typing in the machines. clearly understaffed. took them 32 minutes to ask me if I want some food other than the buffet. that pain would go away if people would be allowed to order right in the kitchen. room was amazing. facing the water front. with a massive bathtub. very rare in hotels and definitely appreciated. bed was clean and mattress tight as it should be. close to the main attractions and all in walking distance.

The Hotel was great, as well as the room, this would have been a 5 * review. However, the heating in the room broke down on my second night, the hotel staff were not able to fix it (it was blowing only cold air and it is still winter!). The room became very cold in the evening and I couldn't sleep. I was only given extra blankets and minimal efforts were taken to rectify. As a Gold Member of the Bonvoy, this was really unpleasant.

Very good option, close to the center and to the docks. The room was spacefully and elegant. The bed was really comfortanle. The only think I did not like was the bathroom whith the sink outside and no free water. Good breakfast with high variety of sweet and salty.

Excellent location! The rooms are decorated so beautifully that you feel at home the moment you walk in! The staff is great, always polite and helpful! Definitely an excellent choice!!!

The staff was very attentive and the rooms were exceptionally clean. I will definitely return to this hotel if I'm ever in Hamburg. The bell man and the front staff was very friendly.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for six nights. We received wonderful service! Luis and Andre' went out of their way to make suggestions on places to visit, restaurants, and helped me line up a good beauty shop. Everyone was nice Moritz, Kerstin, Tamara, and Florian helped in everyway possible. Natalie is great in the restaurant. She makes sure the customers are satisfied. The food was good and my husband loved the coffee! Our room was clean and modern. There is free high speed Wi-Fi and a 24-hour front desk. It is a charming hotel. If you are in Hamburg, we recommend this hotel. The setting and location is wonderful!

Superb hotel, Sebastian et al are excellent hosts. New hotel, fantastic location close to center of Hamburg in the new Hafen city development. Lovely clean and modern rooms. Missing Hamburg already
