"The Nook is an impressive cocktail spot that’s disguised as a low-key neighborhood bar. Complete with a mismatched assortment of vintage living room sofas, a fireplace, and extremely friendly bartenders, you’ll find drinks like champagne spritzes, white negronis, and mules topped with torched marshmallows and rosemary. This place feels like what would happen if you stumbled upon an abandoned cabin in the forest, but instead of finding things like pinecones and a grizzly bear or two, there’s a master mixologist inside that makes anything you want." - Aimee Rizzo

DUMPSTER FIRE in every sense of the expression. The young staff was clearly working hard in the absence of leadership. Our party of 6 arrived at 6:50 for a 7:00pm dinner reservation with the added benefit to enjoy the entertainment of our friend’s band. The dining room was not yet open. Not a big deal to wait 10 minutes. At 7pm the owner informed us that the dinning room would not open until 7:30. Hmmm?? Why accept a 7pm reservation when the dining room does not open until 7:30? He then sat us in the bar room. Again, not a big deal. Ten minutes later the owner returned to move our party into the dining room. Confused yet? We were. Then he wasn’t sure if he sat us at the correct table. Thankfully a waitress told the owner to just let us sit there and she will make any adjustments. We placed our drink and appetizer order. These came out promptly. At 7:30 we placed our dinner order. Approximately 8:30 half of the 6 dinners arrived. At 9:15 our waiter returned to inform us that the owners got involved in food running and delivered our order to another table. He informed us that the remainder of our order was being remade. At 9:45pm, 2+ hours after placing our order we decided that we were patient enough. We looked for the waiter, who had since abandoned our table to become a bar-back. We looked for a floor manager and the original two owners we met earlier in the night. No one could be found. Short of entering the kitchen, there was no one there to cancel our order or get a check to pay our tab for one appetizer and 6 drinks. Yes, we only had one round of drinks in nearly 3 hours because no one came to service our table. Instead we went to the bar for drinks. We left a gracious amount of cash on the table to cover the limited consumption and departed.

We were lazy tonight and ordered take out. I got the turkey club with fries, and a side of onion rings to share. My wife got the steak burger sliders with fries. We also ordered a second steak burger sliders for tomorrow. I’d like to add that we ordered wings and burgers here once before. The wings were horrible, and the burgers were not something I would order again. Tater tots were good though. Anyway, we thought maybe it was a bad night, so we gave them a second chance… The turkey club was very disappointing. They made a cheap small turkey deli meat sandwich, threw a piece of bacon on it and slid a third piece of bread in the middle. I felt like I was literally eating 3 pieces of bread with mayonnaise…that I added. They even forgot the cheese. The worst turkey club I ever saw. This is usually my sandwich of choice anywhere I go… so I’ve had a lot of them. The sliders were dry , overcooked and tasteless. I’m not sure why the fries, that came with the club, were a different type that the ones that came with the sliders…. But that’s not a big deal. The thinner ones had a better taste. The onion rings were decent though. So we will not be ordering from here again. I just wanted to leave my review so I would save any others the disappointment. Really bad quality. I’ve never actually been to this place, maybe it’s just a bar that doesn’t really specialize in food. My wife suggested it so we gave it a shot.

Came for the first time to check out their Karaoke night. Had an order of mozzarella sticks. They were chunky and crispy . The people here were very welcoming and I had a good time singing some old tunes at the karaoke. They have plenty of parking as well. Will be back

Very disappointed! We arrived around 6PM for a 7PM scheduled show with VIP seating. The room wasn't ready so we were told to wait in some other part of the building which seemed to be used as a storeroom. The Nook is under renovation leaving only 1 unisex bathroom downstairs. After finally getting seated it took about 45 minutes to get drinks (nothing complicated, we're talking beer) as our server was MIA most of the time. Our food didn't come out until about 9:00. My order was wrong but I took it because I didn't want to wait another 2 hours. Others in our party ordered burgers and said that they were cold. We had to ambush one of the servers to bring utensils for the table and another to bring more water. Those that wanted more drinks found it quicker and easier to get them from the bar themselves as the servers appeared to be totally overwhelmed. If our experience here is typical, this place isn't ready for primetime!

The Nook has quickly become one of the top local spots to visit! From their mouthwatering burgers and creamy cole slaw to the exciting bingo nights on Wednesdays, there's always something to enjoy. Plus, with karaoke and line dancing on Thursdays, it’s the perfect place for a fun, lively evening!

After a few early stumbles caused (learned at the end of the evening) by multiple last-minute call outs, the establishment owner came to our table to check on us. He arranged to replace a dish we ordered that did not first meet expectations. The replacement dish was excellent. The owner (I wish I had gotten his name) proceeded to check on tables, bus dishes, serve customers, and do everything possible to fill the gaps from being short several employees. Based on what I observed, the owner cares for his employees and customers. I would bet that he expected a much more relaxing evening personally, but when the situation called for it, he jumped in to help. It made a huge difference. I plan to return again, perhaps after the weather gets a bit better and it's less likely to have multiple call-outs on one evening. I imagine when the place is running full-tilt it must be amazing! I think it will be well worth the hour drive.

We were there to see a show. We got there at. 6:00, an hour before the show was scheduled to start. The room was not set up and we waited in a renovation area, climbing over tools, machines, etc. we finally got into the area with the tables and it took about 1/2 hour to even get a waiter to acknowledge us. We ordered drinks and they came about 45 minutes later. Dinner was finally served a little after 8 and most dinners were not hot. They knew well in advance the number of attendees. The room should have been set up early in the day and the staff should have been prepared for the crowd that they had. I would certainly NOT recommend the Nook.

The karaoke is fantastic. Something was off with my drink.. Hard to say but it was foul. Mozzarella sticks were good. Overall ... 3.78299/5 I'll return for the karaoke.. Please fix the booze though. As an alcoholic if I find something foul that's... Rough.

Yelp
I wish that I had tried this place sooner. I've been living in Warren County for almost 20 years and this place has flown under the radar since I don't frequent country clubs. The food here is phenomenal! They have a full bar also with some nice spirits minus my favorite chaser, Fever Tree which is elusive to almost everyone unfortunately. The service is fast and friendly from Joe the bartender and all of the kitchen staff. I'll be back for sure the next time I am in the Hackettstown area.

Yelp
Very solid spot! I was initially off put by its location and parking, but once you're in the place is great. Decent drinks and food and good atmosphere: a solid place to spend some time with friends.

Yelp
I had some very tasty buffalo wings at The Nook on a Friday evening a few weeks back. Perfectly cooked with crispy exterior, and served in ample amount of sauce with generous portion of blue cheese on the side. Perfect wings, and nice to know Hackettstown has an alternative location for good wings! My partner ordered a cheeseburger, and it was cooked as requested, no complaints and served with an abundance of fries. The beer was super cold and fresh, and the bar staff was very attentive. I cannot speak to the table service, but the servers seemed to be running back and forth to keep everyone happy and full. It's so nice to see this historical business back open with the original family, as I understand it. They are featuring trivia and other fun during the week, live music on weekends. Check them out, nice little spot for certain and the staff really makes you feel like family.

Yelp
Best burgers in town. Service was fantastic.. Friendly staff and the ambience is very cozy. You haven't tried the place. Give it a shot.

Yelp
The service was good but there was only one waitress in the place. She tried her best and was very sweet. The food was downright awful. I literally could not eat mine and another lady told me the same thing. There is absolutely no ambience in this restaurant. Very stark and dark - not welcoming at all. I would never return.

Yelp
We ordered food the appetizer came out at the same time as the meal and we didn't get forks or napkins while we are sitting right at the bar we also didn't get ketchup for the fries

Yelp
I love that the Nook is back and Jim and Frank are at the reigns! Great ambiance, food and prices... They also have great shows too! And since they hired Michelle Catogge Scarcella it made the place that much better! She is a fabulous person, bartender etc.... she lights up the place and cares about her patrons.... keep up the great work! I'm coming all the way from Flemington taboot just cause the Nook is back and Michelle is there too!
