Boston Takeout and Delivery Pop-Ups During the Pandemic - Eater Boston

"The Nu Do’ Society will eventually take over the former River Gods space in Cambridge, serving noodles influenced by several Asian cuisines. They have been offering Sunday deliveries, rotating through a variety of potential menu items, especially focusing in the Thai direction." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

Really kind people running nu do, always makes for a comfortable and enjoyable environment. Personal preference that my tempura isn’t in my udon because it gets soggy. The green curry is spicy with great flavor.

Google
Unassuming Thai place that is great for lunch or casual dinners. Found this place while walking around the Central square. Their menu seemed different from a typical Thai restaurant, so my friend and I decided to give them a try. Table service wasn’t offered, and the ordering process was similar to that of fast food restaurants. Food came out fairly quickly, and overall, they were good for the price. We started off with some fried fish balls which we found to be okay. The fish balls were barely seasoned, but the sauce on the side made them better. From their signature noodles, our favorite was the ba mee ribs. Yellow noodles had a great chewy texture, and we also liked that the coconut-based sauce was not too overwhelming with spices. Pork noodle soup was good, but we didn’t find anything special with it.

Google
Great value for the price. It's a fast-casual spot, so don't expect much service when it gets busy, but the food is tasty and cheap for Cambridge. Their Thai tea was great, and the noodle soups were perfect for the season. It was pretty quiet around 6 on a Saturday, but it was definitely pretty full by 7, so plan to wait a little bit for seating to open up

Google
The service was kind and the place has a nice cozy feel to it. Sadly we didn’t enjoy the food so much. We ordered the pork chop noodle soup and tofu fried noodles. The tofu was a bit dry, the pork chop was barely seasoned and didn’t have much taste and the noodle soup reminded me too much of instant ramen. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes, nevertheless we enjoyed the atmosphere.

Portion size/topping amount, service: 5/5 Broth, meat: 3.5-4/5 Curry puffs: 4/5 Overall a solid noodle place that's a bit out of the way. We came here for lunch on a Saturday and were the only customers. The staff members were super friendly and helpful. We got the curry puff appetizer ($7), Ba Mee Ribs noodle soup ($14), and Tom Yum noodle soup ($12). The curry puffs were pretty substantially sized. Not super flavorful but good texture. Came with a sweet chili sauce. Both noodle soups had ample toppings -- lots of fresh baby bok choy and meats. The egg noodles were pretty standard and well-cooked. The Ba Mee Ribs had big spare ribs. They were tender but could have had more seasoning (even just some salt and pepper when cooking). The Tom Yum had ground pork, fish balls, and sliced pork -- all good. The Ba Mee Ribs broth was light and a bit sweet, while the Tom Yum broth was on the sweeter side. The staff were super nice when my friend was worried about eating the soup due to a peanut allergy, and kindly informed us that the topping was garlic not peanuts. Overall pretty good value and solid noodle soups with great staff, but nothing outstanding.

Google
This is such a cute little gem in MA. It seems like it’s family owned and the food is fantastic and has great prices. We ordered the crispy bok choy as an appetizer and it was delicious along with the Kao Soi and Garlic Yaki Udon with chicken dish and both were the best! The service was fast and and they were pleasant. I would highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner!

Google
One of my new favorite spots in Cambridge for a quick (and filling) bite. Let me say - this place really hits the spot if you 1) love noodles and 2) love Thai food. I’m very impressed by their quick and excellent service and a mix of authentic dishes and dishes with a twist without sacrificing authentic Asian flavors. Their portion sizes are generous too, so you’ll definitely get maximum bang for your buck. Try the wings and chive pancakes for apps, ba mee noodles if you’re looking for comfort food, Khao soi if you’re looking for something hearty, and green curry if you’re looking for spice. They’re going through a soft opening now, so definitely hit this place up before everyone finds out how amazing it is and there’s a line down the block ;)

Google
On a visit to Boston and happened to run into this cute little noodle restaurant. Ordered the basil udon stir fried noodles (with chicken) to go and the entrée was absolutely delicious!!! Authentic flavors, great food quality & value. Was pleasantly surprised and totally recommend this restaurant!!”

Yelp
I got delivery from this restaurant on GrubHub. My order was delivered very quickly, so I was quite happy with that. While I can't comment on the service or ambiance, I can comment on the food for sure! I ordered the Kee Mao, which reminded me of Drunken Noodles or Pad See Ew. The texture of the noodles was perfect, with just the right amount of chew. I requested for my dish to be spicy, and it most certainly had a kick! Since I was in the mood for something hearty, I got both chicken and tofu. The chicken was a bit dry and nothing special, but the tofu was delicious and had an interesting consistency. I was satisfied with the amount of vegetables and the dish was filling overall. Next time, I'd love to try some of their more popular dishes.

Yelp
A good noodle place if you're only interested in the noodles and soup base. The interior is clean, service is kind, and the food was good. We ordered two noodle soups and a shrimp tempura appetizer. - The Kao Soi was bursting with flavor and filled with a wonderful medley of textures. Definitely recommend getting the Kao Soi if you're unsure about your order (and if you like coconut milk). The only thing disappointing was their chicken thigh. It was overcooked and dry :(. - Their Pork Noodle Soup was flavorful but light. Like the Kao Soi, the soup and noodles were delicious but the meat was dry. - The shrimp tempura was also ok. Crispy and tasty but imo not worth the price.

Yelp
Such a nice cozy restaurant in Cambridge! Simple format, order at the counter, grab yourself some water and take a seat. Looked to be a one woman show in the front, but she was doing an amazing job even with a full house and was so kind. We ordered the chive cakes and the pork noodle soup. Loved the sauce for the chive cakes, wish they were ~ever so slightly less dark, but still great, and the noodle soup was good too! Don't forget to bus your table when you're done so others can find a seat!

Yelp
Went back for different noodles and it was just as amazing!! My curry noodles (I believe....) were creamy and extremely filling. There was so much flavor and meat, it was definitely worth the price!

Yelp
As a fan of all things soup, noodles, and of course, the king of comfort food, soup noodles, I was very excited to try this place after a friend of mine raves about her experience here. I came in on a weekday during off hours, so it was quite empty and the service was quick. I ordered the Kao soi (pictured) and boy was it good - rich, coconut milk curry-based broth - with just the right amount of mild heat, al dente egg noodles (with bite and their own mild flavor added into the mix), and topped off with an egg, pickled veggies, onion, and a lime wedge. There was also a bone-in chicken thigh included. My only comparison for this dish is at Soup Shack Porter (which also does it justice) but Nu Do's broth and noodles have the beat. I wish they had more toppings here though, as Soup Shack's number of fresh toppings really round out the richness of the dish well. The chicken was also a bit on the dry / overcooked side but overall the dish was solid for its price. I will definitely be back to try out more of the menu!

Yelp
Love this new addition to the neighborhood! It's a small trek from the main strip of Central Square, but very well worth it. The FOOD is standout! Yummy noodle soups, both the Kao soi and Ba Kee Ka Moo we're wonderfully complex--it was an explosion of flavor! Portion sizes were great too. I ate more than I should have and I could barely finish my meal! The fried fish balls (and the tangy dipping sauce) made for a tasty appetizer. The batter was light and crispy! The vibe is fast casual, self service clean-up. Good for a chill date night or a quick meal with friends, or even solo. Will note that dining-in is way better than their takeout! I got the drunken noodles and Thai ice tea for delivery and the food didn't hold up as well after it had cooled a bit.

Yelp
If Yelp has half stars, this place would be a 3.5. I had higher expectations but I also was aware that it had opened recently and was self service. As other reviewers have mentioned, you do order at the counter then the food is served to you. You also have to clean up after yourself and water is self serve. I was craving something warm so I got the beef udon which seemed to pop up on quite a few reviews. There was a lot of beef and a lot of bok choi which I loved. They had generous portions and didn't seem to be stingy on giving meat and vegetables. It honestly was a solid meal, the only thing was that the soup was not too hot more so lukewarm which I felt like really took away from the experience so that would be my only complaint. I'd come back again to try out something else on the menu if I was in the area but wouldn't be my top choice.

Yelp
I came here one night while I was in Central. It is out of the main area so it was a little hard to find. They seemed to be doing a soft opening so there were not too many people. The aesthetic of the restaurant is nice. There are large tables in the middle with smaller tables on the sides. There was only one person assisting visitors so service was kind of slow. We both ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken. You get a large bowl of noodles, chicken, and vegetables. The food was very fresh and the portions for the chicken were large. I was very happy with the meal. The staff was coming around to make sure that everything was good. It is hard to find good Thai food in Cambridge so this place was perfect. I hope it continues to grow and be successful.

Yelp
Stopped here for a late lunch on Sunday. There were a few patrons but plenty of open seating. You order at the counter and then the food is brought to you. You do need to bus your table at the end of your meal. We ordered the khao soi with chicken and the ba mee ribs. The ribs were deep fried and a bit dry. The broth was clean and delicious. I was able to finish the entire bowl and didn't feel heavy afterwards. Khao soi was delicious, very creamy. Chicken was nice and tender. I also tried the Thai iced tea which was pretty standard. Overall a good lunch spot for a quick bite.

Yelp
The perfect place to grab some delicious Thai noodle dishes without breaking the bank! Huge portions, amazing flavor, and cute atmosphere. You order and pay up front at the counter, and they bring the food to your seat. I tried the Kao Soi, which was a soupy, mildly spicy noodle dish, where the broth was almost like a curry. It also came with a generous piece of chicken which was really moist and flavorful. My friend got the garlic udon noodles and liked it, but thought the kao soi was better. Two noodle dishes and a Thai iced tea came out to about $35, which isn't bad at all for the area. This would be the perfect place to warm up with a bowl of noodles on a cold winter's day. Great new spot and hope they stick around!

Yelp
Not what I expected but the food was Okay. They do a self-service. A small place but comfortable inside the restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by here randomly to get some dinner with a friend. Concept was you order first by the register and they bring out the food to you. Service was a little slow since there was only one person taking orders and bringing out the food. The wings were good, nice and crispy. I only wish it was tossed in the sauce instead of the sauce poured over. The noodles were also good, quite filling! If you're in the area, I would check it out!

Yelp
I absolutely LOVED Nu Do' Society when I tried it for the first time! Was super hungry and saw this place walking on the side of the street, and decided to stop in for a bite and I was pleasantly surprised on how tasty this soup was. I've never had any type of soup like this, and would highly recommend it if you live in or near the Cambridge area. The noodles were delicious and you can tell they were handmade, and the overall flavor complex of the broth was delicious: savory but also a little sour and spicy along with a very tasty piece of chicken thigh. Highly recommend trying this place if you never have!

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday evening for dinner and we were one of two parties in the space. It took a while for them to choose where we should sit as we were a party of 4 and the other party was also 4 people, but they only had one table big enough for that size. We ultimately ended up at a table clearly meant for only 2 people so we squeezed into the space - it was definitely cramped and not ideal, but we made do. There was only one person working who we could see and he was pretty friendly and patient when it came to taking our orders and giving us water when we asked. It was unclear whether we ordered at the front, but he ended up coming over to us when we were ready and it was a smooth process nonetheless. The drinks and food came out pretty quickly. The Thai iced tea wasn't anything special, but really satisfied my sweet craving. The curry puff definitely was a lot smaller than all of us initially thought it'd be, but it was flavorful and had a good texture. I loved the kui chai and would definitely get it again - it had a similar texture to radish cakes in dimsum, but had a different flavor. Really great with the dipping sauce as well! The entrees were super delicious and were a great size for their price. We were all extremely full and satisfied by the end which was fantastic. I loved the soup of my Tom yup noodle dish and thought it was all cooked really well with the flavors mixing nicely together. Overall, I would definitely come back to try some of their other dishes and get the chive cakes again. Thanks, Nu Do Society!

Yelp
Nu Do' society has quickly become one of my go-to places in Cambridgeport. I have yet to eat there in person, but the takeout is reliably quick and fresh and everything I've ordered has been a hit. I always get the triangle kui chai. They're sort of like chive pancakes but thick, chewy and soft with a flavorful sauce on the side. I've shared them with a few different friends and everyone seems to love them. I also usually go for the Tom Yum noodle soup or the Khao Soi. They're both very flavorful and come with a generous portion, I always end up having the leftovers for lunch the next day.

Yelp
Met a friend here for dinner once, and got the beef udon. For $16, it was honestly pretty not worth. The noodles were okay, the beef was okay, and the soup was a tad bit too sweet for my liking. It was good enough that it made a satisfying meal, but unfortunately nothing really stood out and it was a mediocre, forgettable meal. Decent food, but not great value. This is more for people who want a convenient bite in the neighborhood without much regard to cost. You can definitely get much better food elsewhere for the same/lower price.
google avatar

Alex W.

Yelp
Ambience is nice; it's semi-self service. Took marks off for: -a little slow service -inconsistency of food Took about 25-30 min for food to come out after we ordered. In our table of 4, two people got the Kao Soi, and one had really soft chicken while another had tough chicken. Someone also got the Ba Mee ribs and it was slightly tough (so I didn't include a picture of it). I got the Ba Mee Ka Moo and it was good w a slightly sweet broth. Kao Soi broth was also very good (curry-flavor). Wudda given 3 stars but my friends told me to put 4. Overall good food but seemed to be understaffed (1 waiter for the entire place).
google avatar

Dan L.

Yelp
We had the Tom Yun Soup and the Ba Mee Ka Moo and it overall it was Meh. The Tom Yun Noodle Soup was not what we expected. They are trying to be Thai meets ramen, but they didn't do a great job at executing it. Service was ok. Portions were ok. Overall it was ok, the flavors weren't great
google avatar

Sophia L.

Yelp
Unfortunately I was less than impressed with the dry pork in the Ba Mee Ka Moo. The noodles were fine and soup was on the sweet side but those by itself would've been fine. Portion may be generous but so was the fat on the pork slices. Might be a popular option for students to grab a quick meal at this casual joint.
google avatar

Alicia K.

Yelp
Came here on a Thursday at around 6:30 PM. Didn't have to wait at all! The ambiance was cute, we sat in a little booth by the window. The service was great and she was very willing to accommodate any modifications. I got the Tom Yum Noodle Soup with chicken instead of pork and the broth was delicious. It was so comforting. 10/10 would come back here to try other options.
google avatar

Jessica W.

Yelp
I can certainly see this place being the perfect lunch spot. No frills and extremely reasonably priced for large and flavorful portions. The kao soi is the most popular option, and it definitely does not disappoint. In the future, I would probably prefer something with a bit more broth. The portion of chicken is quite generous, but the flavor does not go much beyond the skin. My gluten-free friend ordered the veggie soup, which I don't think they were too pleased with flavor-wise. Nevertheless, if you work or live in the area, I highly recommend giving this place a try. You won't regret it!
google avatar

Jeremy L.

Yelp
A very decent place with reasonable prices. The green curry noodles didn't have enough curry flavor and sweetness, but noodle texture and portion was great. If you're looking for a great broth, the pork leg noodles had the best soup out of the ones we tried. The chicken wings were crispy and tasty. The kao soi overall was decent and broth was good, but the noodles were not as good and they could've used a different noodle type. The cilantro provided good contrast to the coconut milk broth and it wasn't too spicy for two spicy icons. Portions are generous and prices are cheap for the area, and the vibe is quite casual. There are little things it can improve but the value and portion makes this a 5 star experience.
google avatar

Caitlin L.

Yelp
One of the best meals I've ever had!! I was stunned to get such authentic noodle dishes in Massachusetts. The broth, noodle, toppings--chef's kiss. Everything was perfect. Next time I come back around this area, I'll be sure to go to Nu Do.
google avatar

Ryo I.

Yelp
4/10: It's relatively cheap, but the food was pedestrian. Ba Mee Ribs were extremely overcooked and the broth was one dimensional. The vegetable and tofu soup was a bit better.
google avatar

Allie S.

Yelp
Cute and homey new restaurant in Cambridge. It's pretty hidden in River St but I'm glad I tried it. I ordered the scallion pancakes and the Garlic Yaki Udon and both were very good. The service was super friendly. While I did takeout it seems like a great casual and affordable place for good noodle dishes.
google avatar

Yelp
When I first came across the name of this restaurant I thought it sounded like "noodle" and was very excited to find out that they indeed specialize in noodles! I walked through pouring rain hoping it would be worth it and it sure was. I ordered at the counter and then got a table myself. Although it's self-service, the waitress still brought the food to my table and also brought me water. The ambiance was nice and I felt like everyone in the restaurant was having a good time chatting with their friends. My only minor suggestion would be to have hooks on the walls or somewhere to hang coats (only noticed this because it was raining and everyone didn't have a good spot to put their soaked coats). I got the beef sukiyaki udon and it tasted as expected -- savory and slightly sweet, udon was cooked well, good toppings (naruto, thin sliced beef, bok choy). I also got a pad see ew to go and ate it a couple of days later and it tasted delicious. This is definitely a nice addition to Central Square for getting noodle cravings satisfied and having a nice, affordable spot to catch up with friends!

Stephen D.

Yelp
The fried octopus which is a new menu item was super over fried and crunchy with almost no flavor but an okay dipping sauce. The Ba Mee Ribs had extremely overcooked and chewy ribs and the broth had minimal flavor. I added some chili pepper to the broth to spice it up a notch but that's really the only flavor it had after doing so. The noodles were cooked perfectly. Also requested a 20% tip suggestion but they do not wait on you only bring your food. Counter ordering and you have to bus the table yourself. Sorry. Didn't take any pics.

Yelp
Nu Do society attracted me with their beautiful noodle photos on their instagram account. I almost walked past the restaurant because it is more of a hole in the wall kinda place. You order at the register and you get your own water! Service was still really warm and very accommodating for any substitutions. I got the tom yum noodle soup but with chicken instead of pork. This tom yum noodle soup was great to warm up on a cold day. The portions are great for the price and the noodles were thinner than what i was used to. I really liked that the spice hits you but wished it was more sour for distinct tom yum flavor.
google avatar

Jason B.

Yelp
My partner and I have been coming here twice a month because it's simply the best restaurant in the area. We've never been let down by any of the dishes. The nudo wings are our go-to appetizer and the Kai soi is the best I've had yet. This place is a real treasure.

Yelp
This place deserves more recognition! Their food is very flavorful and fresh. I placed a pickup order for their curry puffs (3 for $7) and ba mee ka moo ($12). I saw that they also offer their chili oil for $0.25, so I decided to try it out. I walked in right at my estimated pickup time and my food was waiting for me at the counter. The curry puffs were a bit smaller in size than I expected. They were super delicious, though. The pastry on the outside was crisp and flaky. The filling was so tasty that I forgot these were vegan. The noodles and broth for the ba mee ka moo came in separate containers to prevent the noodles from getting soggy. I could smell the spices as soon as I opened the containers, and I knew it would be delicious. The noodle portion wasn't huge but was a decent size to have a satisfying meal. The stewed pork pieces were super tender-- they gave a mix of leaner and fattier cuts. The bok choy was fresh and crisp, and the soup was very flavorful, although on the sweeter side. My favorite part of the dish was the vinaigrette that came with it. It seemed like a mix of Thai chili peppers, garlic, and vinegar. I wasn't sure how to use it so I just dumped it on top of my noodles, and the vinaigrette completely changed the flavor profile of the dish! The acidity helped cut through the sweetness of the broth, adding extra depth to the flavor. The peppers were pretty spicy and the raw garlic was super tasty. The chili oil wasn't super spicy to me (in my opinion, less spicy than lao gan ma). I ended up dumping it in my noodles to give it an extra kick. I'll be recommending this place to everyone I know!

Yelp
Your typical mom and pop restaurant. Ordered kao soi and absolutely love it ! My only complain is the broth to noodle ratio, would be great to have more broth. Price is very reasonable which is also a plus !

Yelp

Yelp
An excellent option for takeout! I really enjoy all of there dishes but particularly the Chicken Wings

Yelp
A solid place tucked in a relatively quiet corner in Cambridge. You order at the cash register and they bring the food out to your table. We got the triangle Kui chai and curry puff for our appetizers, and Tom Yum noodle soup and Ba Mee ribs for our main dishes. Everything was quite good. It was the first time both of us had Kui chai, and I'm glad we tried something new. Noodles had a good texture, although a little bit thinner than what I would prefer. The broth was favorable, but I preferred if they had more of a kick to it. Overall, good place for some casual lunch.

Yelp
This place offers a fusion of pan-Asian noodle soups and stews. LOVED this sukiyaki beef udon.
google avatar

Lucy L.

Yelp
I've gone a few more times and ordered the same thing. It looks like they've changed chef or recipes. The amount of meat in the Ba Mee Ka Moo is a lot less, it's sliced thin now, and it's dry and not as flavorful. I am heartbroken.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a great new neighborhood noodle place very worth a try for dine in, take out, or Door Dash. No outdoor seating. We had lunch during soft opening week. Order and pay at counter then sit at long communal table or one of several two-tops for your meal to come to you. I loved the Scallion Pancakes the most. A dining companion enjoyed the NuDo WIngs. Our entrees were Green Curry Udon, Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodle) and Garlic Yaki Udon. We loved all 3, served piping hot, but they were spicy!!! I can take some spice but do wish they had asked for spice level and I would request mild next time. The Udon noodles were especially wonderful with the perfect amount of chewiness and great texture. The shop is small and cute. They deserve to become a hit!

Hannah K.

Yelp
Got the tempura udon. It was super salty, noodles were undercooked and the broth was definitely something reminiscent of the packaged udon you can get at hmart for half the price (the Hmart, btw, is only a 10 minute walk from there). My partner got the chicken garlic udon stir fry and it was also quite mid. The chicken had that gamey taste you absolutely don't want. The saving grace to all this would definitely be their crab rangoons. But this is a noodle restaurant, not a crab Rangoon establishment.
google avatar

Daph R.

Yelp
Awesome spot for a casual meal! Khao soi was creamy with so many different flavors from the mustard greens and onions, tender chicken, and medium width noodles perfect for picking up the sauce. Tom yum soup was surprisingly clear yet spicy, the noodles were ok. We also got the chive cakes which were similar in texture to radish cakes - quite fried but the dipping sauce helped to cut the oil. The portions were also great, so I would definitely get takeout or try another noodle dish from here!
google avatar

Luke C.

Yelp
Unfortunately not good. It felt like they were not using home-made noodles, and the broth lacked flavor. It felt like they got noodles down at H-Mart, then put chicken broth and vegetables. Probably could have made the same at home, although the price is probably similar because the nearby H-Mart is extremely expensive.

Cheng L.

Yelp
I order to go, but the bottom of the bag is wet. And not napkin and chopsticks inside...

Scott B.

Yelp
As a neighborhood resident, Nu Do Society was a welcome addition when it opened. Always a flavorful no-frills dining experience. The self serve and self clean was at first very kitchy, but soon became a bit of a PIA...so we started getting takeout, which was just a good. However, a few months ago, I noticed that they started to give you less food for takeout. I discovered this when i compared the takeout container from a previous visit. Noticeably smaller. I shrugged this off at first, until my next takeout order. The container was even smaller! I first thought this was a mistake, and gave it one more chance - but it was the same. We stopped being customers. Flash forward to a recent weekend when we had a craving for a few of their dishes. We decided to see if portions were smaller in person - they were. And to my dissapointment, my favorite dish, Ba Lee Ka Moo, was crossed off the menu. I have checked a few times and it is still not available. Oh well, will have to find another go to spot.

Yelp
This place is a nice casual place to eat with friends! They sell mainly Thai food and bit of Japanese. I ordered the Kee Mao with tofu because it sounded like something I've never tried before and I love flat noodles. It cost $11 which is cheap! You order the food at the counter, and the food came very quickly (within 10 min). I was surprised because the waitress said she brought over drunken noodles and I thought they brought me someone else's food. It turns out that Kee Mao is drunken noodles and I have tried drunken noodles before. The Kee Mao/drunken noodles were delicious! There was a lot of flavor and it was quite spicy! You can definitely notice the spice after a couple bites, but it never was too hot for me to eat. I loved how chewy the noodles were! I definitely would come here again and I would get something a little more unique next time!

Yelp
Incredible. Wow do they make great noodles. And great everything!!! They are the best Thai place in the Greater Boston area imho. My wife is a Khao Soi expert and she says this is the best in town!!! Yum. Nice vibe. Great service. Yes!!!!!!

Yelp
Awesome noodle place just off Central Square! They are homemade and delicious. I got the one with vegetables in it. It was a touch too spicy, but the delicious noodles made up for it. They also have noodles in soup (Tom Yum) in a ton of varieties. If you like lychees, try the bottled lychee juice. It's delicious and the fruit drops on your tongue. Total yumminess at this place. And the owner is so sweet and friendly! A must if you like noodles!

Yelp
Possibly the best Tom Yum soup I've ever had and I've been to Thailand. So spicy and sour and flavorful! I can't wait to try more dishes here.

Yelp
They manage to do a good job at making noodles from several different Asian countries - everything we got was delicious. The portions are sensible, and the price is right.

Yelp
I am so glad this place has opened in our neighborhood!! As everyone is saying, the Kao Soi is definitely the star of the show for entrees but all of the dishes are delicious! We were very pleasantly surprised by several of the appetizers -- the fried fish balls, curry puffs and the triangles were SO delicious. The scallion pancakes were the only "meh" thing we tried. We are definitely going to become regulars here!

Yelp
My wife and I have dropped into Nu Do a handful of times since my initial visit, usually during early weekend afternoons. Yesterday we stopped in for the first time after work. Not sure if it was due to different staff working evenings but the experience was markedly different - and not in a good way. Firstly, the person taking our orders wasn't exactly warm and friendly as the person we're familiar with. In fact, I don't even remember if she managed to say hi to us. After matter-of-factly taking our orders, she also mixed up our plates, giving me my wife's udon instead of the Kao Soi I ordered. At first, I thought I might've misordered so starting squeezing Sriracha onto the udon. It wasn't the 2nd dish arrived that I realized it was distribution snafu. Additionally, the Kao Soi was a bit underwhelming. The boiled half-egg was chilly while the chicken thigh was piping hot compared to the noodles. After our meal, as we were preparing to leave, the same staffer who took our orders and handed us our food, pointed to the dish cart and directed us to clean up after ourselves and bring the dirties. We've been here numerous times and were never told verbally or by signage to do so. I hadnt seen any other diners pick up after themselves previously so thought it a bit odd. I certainly dont mind cleaning up after myself, but didnt take too kindly to the arbitrary enforcement and or the manner in which we were told. Additionally, thought it was weird that staff didnt bother to enforce Cambridge's emergency order that patrons wear masks as one guy walked around maskless but not a peep was said to him, in fact they seemed quite friendly to him (stark contrast to when we ordered). The problem with places like this is that they require you to pay as you order and that you tip based on the level of service you think you'll receive, not necessarily what you WILL receive. Unfortunately, last night's visit may be my last for Nu Do - there are a number of nearby restaurants I frequent where I've had nothing but pleasant experiences for years.
