Chicken nuggets are a favorite for all ages. While quick service establishments serve their saucy version, the store-bought options bring fun with specialty shapes. Mealtime becomes more than just a quick bite. Patrons want to dive into the fun. Located off of Shunpike Rd at the corner on the lower level of Hickory Square in Chatham, my partner and I came to Nugget Spot, originally opened in 2013 on East 14th Street in NYC for an Elite event thanks to Sara and the Yelp team. Upon entering as first-timers yesterday, we were greeted by the staff inside this cozy vibe with only one table and some bar-style seating, with one table outside but mostly takeout. A staff member was so helpful, sharing tips on what to get and walking us through the menu, and we got a bit of history of the place while we waited for our food. We decided on the Summer Special with the Fried Chicken Ice Cream Sandwich, the Medium Nugs Combo with nacho queso sauce, the Boylan’s Soda Float with the creme soda, and the Limeade. The quality of the food here is what sets them apart. The seasoning & breading of the nuggets was phenomenal; even without dipping into a sauce, they were tasty with a kick. The portion was healthy enough for a second meal, especially the sandwich. We met a Yelp couple from Cranford, making this experience more enjoyable. We can also see why they take pride in handcrafting the crispiest, most crave-worthy chicken nuggets using only premium ingredients and bold, house-made seasonings. We can recommend this place.

🧆 Food: I had the spicy chicken sandwich, fries, cherry limeade, a Boylan’s soda float, and the Captain nuggets… everything hit the spot. The sandwich was superb, with just the right level of heat and flavor. The cherry limeade was surprisingly good, refreshing and not overly sweet. Bonus points for the variety of awesome sauces that really took everything up a notch. 👥 Service: Kai and Justin brought great energy to the place — they were fun, personable, and made the experience even better. Service was fast, and the food came out hot and fresh. 🎨 Aesthetic: The vibe is clean and casual with a local twist, featuring cool merch inspired by New York sports teams. It’s a small spot with around 10–12 seats, but the setup works well for quick bites or casual hangs.

When I arrived I parked in the lot! I walked into the cutest, cozy spot! I was greeted and served by the nicest guy! I ordered the raspberry lemonade milkshake which I wanted to try! It wasn't bad, just an interesting taste! They have so much more to offer so I can't wait to return for more!

For my summer experience you go with an open mind, palate and stomach. I stopped by The Nugget Spot in Chatham NJ. Jason ( the owner) gave us a nice warm welcome when we arrived. They restaurant is small and very clean and organized. They have their merchandise hanging on the side. There is no public restroom. This is great for a quick bite and to go orders. They have a summer menu which I had looked over before I arrived to the restaurant. One of the summer menu items that grabbed my attention was the spicy fried chicken sandwich with Chipotle ice cream....yes you read it correctly ... fried chicken and ice cream . ​ We also got a Raspberry lemonade milkshake and a kids Nugget combo with Raspberry lemonade. It's did not take long for them to make the food. So I actually liked the sandwich, the spicy chicken wasn't really that spicy but it had a kick and the ice cream cooled it off but gave it a good flavor to the sandwich. So if it's summer I totally say try this sandwich it's an innovative recipe. The Raspberry lemonade milkshake was fabulousssss as well as the homemade Raspberry ice tea. My daughter was very happy with her kids meal too. So if you are in Chatham pop on over to the Nugget spot and give it a try! Super Professional Nuggies and Chicken Sandwiches. Tender juicy chicken with crunchy coating. I tried the regular nugs which were a basic breading , the Captain Crunch nugs which were exactly that coated in Captain Crunch and the “Skinny” nugs which were grilled nuggets and they were seasoned nice and juicy. I tried a bunch of sauces and they all work well with all the nuggets. The sauces I tried were Mr. Pickle which was a dill pickle aioli , blue cheese, golden BBQ, Honey Mustard, Nacho Queso , and the SHHH… secret sauce which was awesome and they wouldn’t tell me what it was. I also tried 2 chicken sandwiches and they were the biggest sandwiches I’ve ever seen. Both large juicy fried chicken thighs on a massive Hawaiian bun. The original had mayo and pickles and I had the monthly special which had truffle mozzarella nugs, truffle honey and truffle mayo. I also had a side of crispy fresh French fries. Some house made drinks and water available. Fast friendly service. Only 1 table inside and some bar style seating. Would like to try more nugs and more sauces and see what other special sandwiches they come up with.

Came on a Monday night around 6pm and we had the place to ourselves for a bit. Justin the manager was so helpful sharing tips on what to get and walking us through the menu, and we got a bit of history of the place while we waited for our food. The nuggets were really good, even for my nugget picky friend. We got a 1/2lbs of the reg and 1/2lbs of the captain crunch. 1/2lbs sounds like a lot, but it is actually the right amount (~7-8 pieces). They were cooked perfectly. The captain crunch had a bit of sweetness to it at the end which was surprisingly good. We got a side of the fries and I was a huge fan. Sauce options were plenty, a big fan of the pickle sauce and truffle mayo. It really is best when you eat at the place since it's hot, fresh and crispy. The homemade drink options were raspberry lemonade, limeade and unsweetened iced tea. We got the first two and loved them, they weren't too sweet. Finished off with their donuts which were AMAZING. Not your typical donut holes. The perfect ratio of crispy outside and the dough inside. I will definitely come back and have already recommended it to my friends.

It's all about that nug life! Excellent chicken nuggets, fries, mac and cheese, and sauces! These nuggets are the best! Hubs and I tried the salty/sweet Captain Crunch nuggets with a satisfying bite like you'd get from very textured cornbread and the Regs which had great seasoning and texture. The Secret Sauce and BBQ Sauce were both thoughtfully made and delicious. The coated Fries were perfect and the Nacho Mac was like drugs! Do it!!! The Lemonades tasted Jersey fresh and with just the right sweetness. Friendly service was helpful and positive vibes filled the whole place. Say yes to nugs! NOTES/TIPS: **For the Nugs Combo, you get 1/4 lb nuggets, side, and a drink for $13. **Next to Hickory Pizza. Plenty of parking in a shared plaza lot. **One round table inside can seat like 4-5 people. Counter seating and outdoor seating available.

Walked in to great customer service. Everything I got was on point. The spicy chicken sandwich with the ice cream on top was different, although it was sweet, spicy and savory. The chicken was cooked to perfection. I also got the mozzarella nuggets with the marinara sauce, that was delicious. The raspberry lemonade was different but damn good. The grilled chicken nuggets was flavorful, loved those. The burnt broccoli was real good too. For a small spot, they're packed with goodness!!!

I like the skinny option gives a different variety and different options other than fried chicken. Their lemonade is also worth trying. It's a small location with a few tables outside, so it's more for to go. Also want to say it is very much kids friendly. I highly recommend if you are in the mood for chicken nuggets.

If you don't live close by, maybe don't bother. I was so (soooo) up for a chicken nugget experience, but so were three families with young kids. There's only 5 stools and one small round table inside this tiny space. On the plus side: chicken sandwiches, nuggets sold in half-pound servings, gorgeous, delightful, crispy breading, and a huge variety of dipping sauces for reasons to come back. On the negative side: there was nowhere to sit when my food arrived, so I slummed it in my car. I think the busyness got the better of the staff. My fries were served too hot to eat, and not salted enough; my chicken sandwich ate really dry because there wasn't enough mayo. If these small touches on my food had been right, it'd have been much better.

Local spot that specializes in chicken nuggets. Count me in. We ordered takeout for the family. They have a variety of flavors to choose from. We got regular and spicy. I really liked them and would come back but the rest of the family wasn't fans. I guess next time it will be just me. Nice people and plenty of parking available.

The grilled nugs were delicious and the blackened broccoli was amazing! The limeade was absolutely fantastic and refreshing. Soooo many sauces to choose from. I settled on the golden bbq and honey mustard. I was not disappointed. I will be back soon!

Came here today for the first time. Cute little place with some seating inside and out. I got an order of the regular chicken nuggets and a Boylan black cherry float. First of might be some of the best chicken nuggets I've ever had. They brine them first and it makes them really moist and tender. The two dips I had were their hot sauce and their pickle aioli, both very good. The black cherry float was excellent as well. Highly recommend you give this place a try.

Super friendly staff, owner is hands on and fresh nugs!! This is a cute little fast food place with a bout 10 seats. Come before their rush hour if you would like to sit in and enjoy your fresh nuggets! 1/2 pls of nugs is a decent amount of food for sure! They fry to order! Fries were so good! Don't forget to try their home made lemonade! Tip: no restrooms lol but DD is right around the corner!

Love love love the nugget spot! We drive about 30 minutes anytime we get the craving for chicken nuggets. I am a fan of the grilled nuggets, always juicy and never dry. My husband loves the chicken sandwiches. The fries and Mac and cheese are usually our sides and they never disappoint. The guys are so nice and really help you make the best decisions in regards to what you are craving. The amount of sauce options is great because it offered variety. If you are in a rush, I'd call ahead and place your order.

These are very nice, welcoming folks in a tiny, spotless shop with a menu limited to several delicious things. The spicy chicken sandwich was perfect. Moist chicken, breaded well and served crispy, with a sriracha glaze. Fresh roll, pickle and ready to go. The fries were crisp and plentiful. The charred broccoli salad was rich, garlicky, and a perfect compliment to the chicken. I cannot fault a single aspect of the place. I'll be back to try more sauces and nugget choices.

Really great new local option specializing in one thing - nuggets! We tried 2 different types - the regular and the grilled. The grilled one had great flavor, and is probably what we'll order for the adults in the future when we pick up from here. The regular nuggets will definitely be a hit with our kids - perfectly crispy and flavorful. The key here though are the dips. They have an extensive dip list, and can't wait to eat out way through it. For the first time, we had the dill pickle and the house special bbq. Both were excellent. Looking forward to a nugg-filled future!

I would say for a spot that specializes in nuggets, it was kind of disappointing. We ordered The Regs with cajun seasoning and The Captain. I felt the cajun didn't have much flavor and honestly just tasted like plain nuggets. The Captain was a little better as it had a salty sweet flavor from the breaded capt'n crunch. The chicken itself I thought could be crispier and juicier. It felt pretty average and nothing to write home about. This spot is fairly new, so I will give it the benefit of the doubt that they still have some things to work on. Other than that I thought the fries were perfectly done and well seasoned. Service was great as they were helpful in explaining the menu and giving us time to order. I probably wouldn't come back, but if you have that nugget craving it wouldn't hurt to try their sauces.

This place was AWESOME. It's a small space but worth dining in if you can get a seat. Justin and the rest of the staff were terrific and even kept the restaurant open a little past closing so that we could finish our meal. We ordered the perfectly crisp regular nuggets with Mr. Pickle and golden BBQ dipping sauces. We also had sides of fries, nacho mac, and burnt broccoli - all were excellent! The portions were very generous, so we even had some leftover nuggets to bring home. We'll definitely be going back!

Wow! I loved chicken nuggets as a kid and it's been so long since I've had them. Way back when I ate them at fast food chains like McDonalds that now upset my stomach due to the processed nature of the food. For that reason, I have not had nuggets in a while. Here, the nuggets were incredibly flavorful and is made fresh. I got the reg which is regular chicken nuggets. I also had the nacho cheese sauce which tasted EXACTLY like its title which was incredible. My meal came out relatively quickly and inside of the restaurant reminded me of a traditional fast food joint. My raspberry lemonade was also great. I can't wait to come back and have nuggets. There are so many different combinations you can get that will make every visit a bit different. Highly recommend!

This month is TRUFFLE month with @thetruffleist -the TRUFFLE FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH is one of the best things I've ever tasted! The truffle and nuggets combo is the perfect match.

What a find! Great food and service in a comfortable, non fast food, environment. Owner Jason is quick to make food suggestions and cares about his customers. First time but won't be my last!

For a small, nondescript location tucked away in a Chatham strip mall, the Nugget Spot punches far above its weight class. The first thing we noticed upon entering shortly before closing on a Wednesday night was the amazing aroma of freshly cooked chicken (which is quite different than a chain restaurant). The next thing we noticed were the awesome NUGS jerseys and sweatshirts styled in the manner of our local major sports teams, only some of which were available for sale. My three kids' eyes grew three sizes looking at the menu. We chose the regular and the Captain, which are chicken nuggets hand-encrusted with Cap'n Crunch before they're cooked. Both were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside like a good chicken nugget should be. The Captain had a little extra crunch and didn't taste as sweet as I'd expected, which was nice. We tried the BBQ sauce, which was a lovely blend of sweet and smoky, and the sweet chili, which had a subtle heat gentle enough for our kids to enjoy. The fries were extra long and held a healthy crunch while warm. The fire-roasted broccoli was delicious and a welcome counterpoint to the fried options. Jason, the owner, was kind enough to tell us about catering options (coming soon!) and a bit about the history of the restaurant (open six weeks at this location). We can't wait to head back and try some other menu items!

What a nugget of a place! Fabulous light , crunchy and tasty nuggets. 1/2 pound of nuggets are enough for one. The roasted spinach goes so well with the nugget flavor. My son ordered the spicy sandwich and nacho Mac. Plentiful and flavorful. Portions are really generous. Service was quick and easy. Indoor seating or take away. Very relaxed atmosphere and ambiance. We will return.

Efficient service and everything looks to be cooked to order. Lots of great dipping sauces from which to choose (I thought the pickle aioli was tops!), and the fries are crispy and delicious. We tried the roasted broccoli as well and plan on returning to try the mozzarella nuggets. A nice option in the area.

AMAZING! Wife ordered delivery and everything in our first experience was super delicious. Most importantly it's clear this place gets it as our order was cleverly packaged so the sandwich, nuggs and fries arrived crisp and not soggy from their own steam. A++ definite repeat customer in the making.

I hadn't heard of this place before, but stumbled upon it when browsing through yelp. I called to place an order and was surprised to hear that the nuggets can be made very quickly (2 min!). When I got there, the nuggets were fresh out of the fryer. I tried the traditional and the captain crunch. Both were great on their own. White meat, crunchy/crispy, and flavorful even without any sauce. The sauces (dill aioli, bbq, honey mustard, and their special sauce) were all good, albeit nothing out of the ordinary. I actually think I liked the nuggets more without any sauce! The only somewhat drawback is it is a little pricey for the half pound ($13 for half, $19 for 1 lb), so I felt like I needed to get the 1lb just for cost efficiency, but it was a bit too much for me. Overall, I'd be back!

So delicious!! My son got The chicken sandwich, I got nuggs and the Mr. pickle sauce -- it's so so good! The nuggets are hand cut chicken Breast, generously coated - crispy, hot, tender -- I have no bad things to say. Shop is clean, small -- not a lot of searing so my son and I sat outside. If you are in the area, 100-% stop by for a quick lunch -- the lemonade is good also! Do wish they had milkshakes but honestly, they are making what they are good at and I can't fault them for that!

The holidays came early because Jason and his team are back!!! I used to drive from Jersey to NYC just to eat at The Nugget Spot and now I only have to drive a few towns over. Incredible(y dangerous). I couldn't wait to sample some of my old favorites. Mozz Nugs - Barely made it out of the car and into the house before devouring. Solid marinara sauce, too. The Regs - Think KFC popcorn chicken but way, way better. Pairs well with any sauce but Shhh... and O.G. Ranch (my favorite) were tonight's choices. The Captain - Coated in that famous crunchy cereal. Sweetness enhanced by pairing with a damn good honey mustard. Nacho Mac - Creamy, cheesy, crunchy (because of the tortilla chips on top). I missed this. Crispy AF Fries - I'm not a crispy-coated fry person, but they were cooked fresh (like everything else I ate) and really just a conduit for me to eat more sauce. Try The Nugget Spot once and you'll be hooked for life.

Holy crap the medium chicken combo CRISP,tender,perfect cherry lemonade is so good really nice person at the counter nice seating I recommend the sweet chili sauce little pricy but REALLY GOOD!!!!!!

This is definitely a must try! I have an affinity for all things nugget, and The Nugget Spot did not disappoint! I tried The Captain with queso and this was a delightful pairing! The nuggets were super juicy and the seasoning was delicious! I also tried the Mac and Cheese with doritos which was mouthwatering...I'm still thinking about it! It's a small place but the service was great and the joint was packed with people picking up their yummy orders! I was so pleased with my experience that I bought some merch (a super soft hoodie that says "NUGS"). I definitely recommend this spot!

The nuggets were delicious! Crispy on the outside, and maintained the crispiness until I got home to enjoy. The Mac and cheese is on the spicier side, it was too hot for my kid but very flavorful for the adults. We also tried 3 different sauces, the dill sauce is the best! Very flavorful.

I showed up at 6:50 and there were over 15 people waiting for their orders. That said, I called my order in and it was ready as soon as I walked in, before the estimated 15-minute wait time, impressive. I met Chatham local Jason during his soft opening. He's very friendly and ambitious and it appears he has a hit on his hands, congratulations! We ordered both the skinny nugs and the regs. I'm a big fan of Chick-fil-A's grilled nuggets and Jason's Cajun grilled nugs are better. The regular nuggets reminded me of KFC's extra-crispy chicken, but these are lighter, fresher, and tastier. That said, I have 2 suggestions. Offer a smaller portion, maybe a 1/4 or 1/3 pound for $7 or $8. I'd love to come for lunch but a 1/2 pound is too much for me. Likewise, my wife and I like different types of nuggets so we currently have to order 2 half-pound portions. Secondly, please offer grilled cajun and grilled spicy sammies. My wife ordered the breaded version last time and it was delicious, but grilled options would be fantastic. A "Jersey Brunch" version with an egg and Taylor ham would be off the charts! Continued success Nugget Spot!

This place is amazing. Hidden on the corner, lower level by Green Village Road. I ordered online and had it delivered to my work. I ordered a chicken sandwich with honey mustard. The sauce comes separately which is a nice touch. The sandwich was huge, crispy and so moist. I found out later that they use thigh meat. This sandwich is a game changer. I also got a Mac n cheese. It had some heat and was phenomenal. Another game changer. On my second visit, I got the December meal of the month, Nugget Parm. This is only available in store and cannot be ordered online. This was also a game changer. The sauce was thick and also had cut up tomatoes in it. The nuggets were large and the cheese was melted on top. A definite go to. The temperature was perfect. The inside is clean but small. Two small tables and a counter. This is my new chicken sandwich place. I will be a regular here and I highly recommend. Don't walk but run to this place.

The food was fantastic. We drove 30 miles for these nuggets and it was definitely worth it. We will be coming back. The lady at the counter was so sweet. The owner was there too and he was super nice!

Saw this by chance and stopped in for lunch with my wife.. Regs with smokin j's bbq sauce delicious, moist and excellent flavoring. Sriracha fries hot and spicy flavoring, not overwhelming...my wife had baked nuggets with mambo sauce and these were delicious also.. A nice addition for upscale and quality chicken.. We will be back.
