The Oarsman, Marlow

Lovely terrace for a sunny day and nice atmosphere overall, but that is pretty much it. Unfortunately far from meeting expectations. Food was extremely salty - the fish was barely enjoyable, service was extremely slow on the terrace (when restaurant was pretty quiet): we had to stand up and go ask/grab them 3 times. Finally, we had mentioned it was one of us’ birthday, nothing was done, quite disappointing.

Met a friend for lunch and both had the £20 two course set lunch with a couple of glasses of wine. Food was good and nicely presented and fair value for the quality and quantity of the dishes. Only negative was the atmosphere which as the place almost empty was non-existant: but the plus was we could easily chat uninterrupted.

Wonderful place to share your time with friends and family. Great atmosphere and the staff are just fantastic! Our waitress Viktoriya was so nice and professional she really made our dinner special thank you to the team ! The beef roast was so tasty and succulent. Definitely will be returning for more ! 😀😀

We had a lovely meal and it is always interesting with lovely options on the menu. The service is so fantastic every time - a real credit to the staff. My only negative feedback is our dish was only just warm and I think the plate should be hot and a meal should come up hot to start with. Normally I would send it back but we ordered the fantastic venison wellington and I didn’t want to wait another 30 mins for this particular course

This pub is beautifully decorated, comfortable and has a great atmosphere, came for a birthday dinner and were greeted by a lovely waitress, the menu and wine list were explained very well to any questions we had. Food was amazing! Service was impeccable and definitely will return. Thank you for your great service and fantastic food!

The Oarsman never fails to impress! From the moment we arrived, the serving staff made us feel completely at home with their warm, bubbly personalities and exceptional knowledge of the menu and gins. Their passion for great food and drink truly shines through, making the whole experience even more enjoyable.The trout was simply out of this world—cooked to perfection with incredible flavors that left us wanting more. To round off our meal, we enjoyed an expertly crafted espresso martini by the fireside, the perfect indulgent finish to a flawless afternoon.The Oarsman is a true gem, and we can’t wait to return. Highly recommended!

Great food. Set menu for 25 pounds. I loved the beef croquettes, beef main, plum trifle. My friend had a fish and chips from the a la carte menu. They offered her samples of different beers to help her chose one that she would enjoy. Service friendly. We would not hesitate to come back.
