The Oarsman, Marlow

We had a delicious New Years lunch here. The food has always been outstanding. I had the pork chop today and it was probably the best pork I have ever eaten. Beautiful cocktails. Great service. One of the stand out restaurants in Marlow at the moment. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely terrace for a sunny day and nice atmosphere overall, but that is pretty much it. Unfortunately far from meeting expectations. Food was extremely salty - the fish was barely enjoyable, service was extremely slow on the terrace (when restaurant was pretty quiet): we had to stand up and go ask/grab them 3 times. Finally, we had mentioned it was one of us’ birthday, nothing was done, quite disappointing.

Unfortunately I told the waitress I'm allergic to celery. We ordered appetizers, but the waitress didn't bring me a plate. "You can't eat the meat croquettes and peanuts; they contain celery." I don't understand how but the only explanation is the lack of hygiene in the kitchen. There was supposed to be a carrot purée with my main course, but it was removed "because it contains celery." I asked for it to be replaced with cooked carrots or salad. "No, not on Sundays," she said. I got a spoonful of applesauce instead, and there was no gravy either. I had a reduced meal but not a reduced price I was still able to enjoy a dessert in peace without being treated like an idiot or mentally disabled. The next day, I had indigestion.

Food was exceptionally good and even the gf bread was excellent and home made. The steak and the fish soup were perfectly cooked and delicious, the orange and feta salad was lovely. The cheese and puddings were anlso excellent. The staff were all lovely and welcoming, our dog was made a fuss of and the real log fire added charm. Thank you!

We had a lovely meal and it is always interesting with lovely options on the menu. The service is so fantastic every time - a real credit to the staff. My only negative feedback is our dish was only just warm and I think the plate should be hot and a meal should come up hot to start with. Normally I would send it back but we ordered the fantastic venison wellington and I didn’t want to wait another 30 mins for this particular course

Wonderful place to share your time with friends and family. Great atmosphere and the staff are just fantastic! Our waitress Viktoriya was so nice and professional she really made our dinner special thank you to the team ! The beef roast was so tasty and succulent. Definitely will be returning for more ! 😀😀

Met a friend for lunch and both had the £20 two course set lunch with a couple of glasses of wine. Food was good and nicely presented and fair value for the quality and quantity of the dishes. Only negative was the atmosphere which as the place almost empty was non-existant: but the plus was we could easily chat uninterrupted.

Very delicious food, super friendly attentive staff. Definitely worth the visit! (We had lunch)
