THE OASIS IS A MIRAGE - GAVE AWAY OUR RESO, WE SLEPT IN THE PARKING LOT.
First, we ate at the Saloon, which was one of the worst meals of my life. I'll write a separate review for that, but know this: my lettuce was moldy, the salmon tasted like they dropped the entire salt mill on it, and the waiter was incredibly rude. So after we paid $130 for that absolute trash, we tried looking up our reservation/ to check-in, but had no cell signal. We were told that we would HAVE TO BUY INTERNET through them, despite having already paid for a meal AND a camping reservation.
So we go to the check in desk. THEY GAVE AWAY OUR PRE-PAID (IN FULL) CAMPING RESERVATION. The front-desk attendant was great at trying to fix this abject horror, but there were very few options because this place is as likable as a serial killer. They simply allow "walk-ins" to fill up the campsite so that people who have actual paid reservations have NOWHERE TO GO. The crazy thing is that I didn't book a room there after reading the scathingly terrible reviews. I only booked a campsite there rather than other, better reviewed campsites that are first-come so that we would have a 100% guarantee of somewhere to stay. So we literally slept in the parking lot.
The next morning, we looked at the breakfast buffet, and it was so utterly revolting--McDonald's is Michelin compared to what they offered, and at $25/plate for stale cereal and dry waffles. So we grabbed some items from the General Store. For 5 items: a frozen burrito (the kind you see at gas stations), a yogurt, a protein bar, a tea and coffee, all came out to almost FIFTY FREAKING DOLLARS. Aka the same as their vomity breakfast offering.
Also, don't bother traveling there if you have an EV/Tesla. The two chargers at The Inn, their sister property across the street, didn't work. One of four at The Ranch didn't work. And the others were plugged in over the entire night. The closest (super)chargers are an hour away.
And The Inn looks beautiful from far away, but has that creepy, crumbling mineshaft en route to the hotel for a reason: the inside of the hotel is literally crumbling and smells mildewy. Their restaurant's menu is mostly the same items as the Saloon, but somehow more expensive. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, though.
It's interesting how they keep changing the name(s) of the properties (see "Furnace Creek Inn & Ranch Resort). I wonder why?
