The Oceanview Inn & Sports Pub

Road side motel that’s great for pub grub and staying a night. Unrefined (they keep reservations in a notebook) and not a place that will have a “specialty drink” menu. My black and bleu burger was awesome! Great water view out of the back little dock.

Years I’ve driven by. Always said I would. Today was the day I FINALLY dropped in. Loved it. In all of its Keys funkiness it was very cool. Dog friendly outside. Slice of water view. NFL legend owner. Darts! The kind with real points! Lunch was great. Old Keys vibe. Little hotel attached has a cute pool.

Found this hotel when I needed to stay in Islamorada while my Boy Scout Troop was finishing their adventure at SeaBase. If you stay on Thursday night, the pub has a steak dinner special. Have dinner at the pub and get the steak special. The steak was cooked just right and tender throughout. You never would think you could get such a great meal at this pub. But you do. The place was perfect for us. You have a patio out the back of your room, leading to a swimming pool. Room is spacious with all the amenities you need. A true gem of a hotel in the area. Locally owned so support the local businesses.

We stayed down the road but visited here to watch the Panthers hockey game. There was live music, a great outdoor seating area, and even a pool that you can enjoy (even if you're not staying there!). Stephanie was the bartender, and she was great and attentive. There's a fire pit as well and a children's playing area... there's also a path to the beachfront. Well be back for sure on our next visit... we even might stay here instead!

Driven by, never stopped until today. Pulled in to escape rain coming in. Drinks were light-hand poured. Hubby ordered fried fish & chips basket.. mahi was dry, nothing special. I ordered dolphin fingers app.. again, dry, stringy, more breading than fish.. food was meh.. nothing impressive considering the business' history. Doubt we make a special effort to go back.

We are staying here and they gave us the wrong room, didn't remember us from 5 minutes before for the welcome drink, and tonight we walked down to get drinks and food and they ignored our table while helping people who arrived after us. Food and service last night was good so we had high hopes. Room is a bit gross and needs a good deep clean. We know it is a roadside kind of motel but with the other reviews we just had hoped for better.

Trevor is an AMAZING bartender!! Cold drinks an amazing advise on the local stuff . This place is a hidden gem of the keys!!! My kinda vibe. Took the dam with me and we all had an awesome time!. Will 100% be back

The Ocean View was a pleasant surprise. It is a small motel attached to a sports bar, but the stay is much more.|The rooms are large. Ours had a table and 2 chairs, a king bed, a little fridge, a microwave and a small but functional bathroom.|Things get even better out the back. We had a patio with two chairs and a table, and our own outdoor shower. The patio lead out to a garden with lots of bougainvillea, a small but nice pool and then on to an outdoor bar. The bar was friendly, reasonably priced and busy.|By the end of our stay, we had used all the facilities, enjoyed our room and the view and decided that in spite of the price, it was a good deal.

EVEN IF YOU CANCEL, THEY"LL STILL TAKE YOUR MONEY. I made a reservation through Booking.com on May 7, which I canceled just 1.5 hours later. Despite this, I was still charged $209.58 and never received a refund. I have been in contact with Booking.com about this, and according to the cancellation policy, I should not have been charged. This is the kind of place that, once they have your credit card information, will use it indiscriminately.

Nice place to stay for a day or two. The food at the pub is great and the kids loved the pool. Great customer service. We did see a raccoon at the pool which was cool for the kids to see. The view from the pub is really great.

We have been coming here for the last few years when we make our trip to the keys. On Thursdays, they have a 16ounce NYStrip steak grilled to perfection. We split the steak and ordered a wedge salad to share as well. This year it was served with mashed potatoes, which we aren't a fan of but these were delicious as they dressed them like a baked potato. The staff was more than attentive to us. We were encouraged to stay as long as we liked, the guitarist/vocalist was great on the back patio. He sang lots of Cat Steven's who we grew up with! Patio was not the most attractive but that wasn't what we were there for. The steak was one of the best we have had. Who ever was grilling knew what they were doing! Menu was limited but I believe that is because of steak night. Most people were ordering the steak but the appetizers looked great that the table had next to us.

This is a great local bar. So friendly. We didn't eat but had drinks at the inside bar as it was too rainy and cool for the outside bar. So can't say about the food. Sarah, our bartender, was friendly and called us by name every time. We were just passing thru and saw the sign about being the oldest bar with the oldest bar license.

Great atmosphere! Kid friendly! Food is amazing and fresh. My husband had the burger and it was perfectly cooked along with french fries that were super tasty! I had the dolphin Reuben along with sweet potato fries 10/10 !! Service was great and quick. Kiddos wanted to play some corn hole and without hesitation, the bartender grabbed the bags for us! The view out to the water was amazing and an all around comfortable experience every time!

My daughter enjoyed the Dolphin fingers. Mahi Mahi is her new, favorite fish. The serving size was perfect, and she demolished it. I ordered the wings, half garlic Parmesan, and half buffalo. The sauces come on the side. My wings were good, but cooked about a minute over, so they were a bit dry. Overall this was a nice spot to relax.

Great local sports bar. They also serve really.good food. We went for Thursday steak.night and boy was.it good. Draft beers are really cold and service is great.

Service was ok- it's a bar. Live band- good. Buffalo wings - good. French Dip . It was fatty and chewy. Rum Punch was perfect!

There is no mistaking th The OceanView Pub & Sports Bar for being anything other than a sports bar. Oh, and you best be a Dolphins fan, as I understand that the owner use to play for the Dolphins and it's a Dolphins fan hangout. The OceanView has a nice setting, located right smack on the water with gorgeous open views and beachfront seating. There is also a large open-air but covered area where the televisions are located and where food is served. When there is a game on it gets really crowded, but the staff and food servers do a good job keeping up with it. Also, right on the beach area, there is a fire pit to keep you warm and cozy when it gets cold. And yes, there are some really cold days and nights in Florida. Maybe not cold to the Canadians but cold to we Floridians. As for food, it's little more than sports bar food, but rather good sports bar food. I had their sliders which I found to be rather tasty and good. But of what had, their chili is a hands-down winner. In fact, I would say it is one of the best chilis I've ever had. So, if you are a football fan, sports bar lover or just enjoy being on the beach, you can't go wrong with The OceanView.

I love the OV. I have been coming here since I was three years old and haven't left! The food is always wonderful. I love to get the ahi tuna, peel and eat shrimp, or the chili on the "colder" days. I love Brandy the bartender. The ambiance is very casual. I run around barefoot half the time. Boat parking available on the dock and car parking whenever.

Love it. Lots of locals who are very nice. A little karaoke. Great view. Great sliders.

Great place and one of my favorite watering holes... Terrific prices and service!! Love the crew and the views.. Outside bar is the best and the keg urinals in the bathroom rock!!

My first time at OV was a great experience. We went to watch a football game and were pleasantly surprised by the food. The servers were attentive and friendly even though they were busy. We will definitely be back!

Great sports bar in Islamorada. We asked our server what the best thing on the menu was. He suggested the French dip. Best French dip I've ever eaten. Service was awesome! One of the best meals we had in Islamorada.

Cool atmosphere with a small pool. Beers are cold and there's music. There's a cool little path through the mangroves that takes you to a dock. I haven't had the food here yet. But would definitely return to try it out.

OV's! I came here for the bar and the bar food. Drink in or out, it's up to you. Super laid back place to grab a drink and chat with other patrons. The owner, Gary Dunn, was a defensive tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL, which is why the sign out front says "NFL has been". The locals call it OV's.

Stopped for drinks & an appetizer around 5. They were out of conch fritters unfortunately! We had nachos & they were average. Soggy chips & chicken (?) chunks in a glomp. Drink refills were slow, but beer was only $2...my soda never did get refilled. Friendly wait staff & a beautiful setting make it a great spot to enjoy the outdoor vibe. A man with a pitcher of beer & a cat in a cage sat nearby. Folks docked their boats & came up to the patio for libations. There is an inside air conditioned room, but why would you want that? Worth the stop!

Local bar Great food everything on the menu that I have had had always been good quality at a great price. Awesome Cuban sandwich!! Live. Music And great staff! I would consider this place to be a must if in Islamorada.

The food was great and the energy of the place is really welcoming. Service is a little slow but still super friendly so it's all worth it. Plus the prices are very reasonable!!

Slow service. Bartender more interested in doing shots with his friends than doing his job. Ridiculous price on drinks. Charges $3 for ice with my bourbon. There was more ice in my wife's coke which cost $2.50. On the plus side, the patio is comfortable with a nice view of the ocean in the distance and I was able to watch hockey.

I struggled whether this was a two or three star review. Ultimately I decided that I would base the review on good. The place is big and the "ocean view" is sad in the daytime and non-existant at night. We went after a day of diving to grab some food and beer and to watch some football. They have an enclosed bar up front which has a lot of TVs and, to me, seemed to be a locals joint. There is a big patio area and bar out back with numerous TVs. Our server was good. A little slow, but having lived in the Keys I attribute this to island time. No one is in any hurry which is fine. Beer and whiskey are beer and whiskey. You can't screw it up unless you are watering things down. The beer was fine. The food, unfortunately, all tasted like it came out of a bag and was dropped in a fryer. I had shrimp. I mean, come on, we are in the Keys. These tasted no different than the frozen breaded shrimp you can get at any grocery store. The fryer sauce may Be homemade but they need a new recipe. It tasted like they freeze the little cups of sauce and thaw some (mostly) depending on what they think they need. Finally, the game I wanted to see was not on. I asked the server and he found the game but for some reason it would not come up. I give him credit for trying but we decided to cut our losses and got back to our room where the game came in perfectly. Would not stop here again.

Went there to celebrate my daughter's 21st with her friends. The bartender/waiter was going to take good care of her and friends. Special was loaded potato skins for $4.95. They were great!. We also had the fish dip which came with fried pita chips, celery, and traditional crackers. I had conch chowder and the dolphin blackened platter with seasoned fries... HUGE portions and reasonable prices. We had the place mostly to ourselves at 9:30 almost 10 pm on a Sunday night which was great! Son had the steak sandwich, daughter had the appetizer size burger (OV-3 pcs.), husband and a few others had the OV burger. Everyone liked what they had and some went home with half their sandwich or burgers because they do serve large portions! I can imagine how crowded it gets on game day with locals and tourists. They even surprised the birthday girl with a frozen key lime dark chocolate covered popsicle with two happy birthday kids songs. Embarrassing but really cute! I totally recommend this bar.

This is my first time here and I couldn't be happier. The bartenders are all amazing especially, Sara. Cindy, the manager, was also super accommodating. There were bands and karaoke nights. Highly recommend!!

The OV is a family favorite for mid-day drinks and nibbles after an early afternoon on the sand bar. We love the ease of access by boat and the beautiful raised walkway among the mangroves! On our latest visit, we traded in the fried Mahi fingers for blackened Mahi fingers at the waiter's recommendations, and he did not lead us astray! Blackened Mahi fingers will be the move from here on out. Next time I would go coconut shrimp over Buffalo shrimp. Great kick and flavor on the Buffalo shrimp, but the crisp just wasn't there. The staff are friendly and always eager to provide recommendations. They even stuck around to take a shot with us (once they were off the clock of course!).

Service at the bar excellent. Food is good, husband loved Thursday night special, and I would recommend the ahi.

Came by boat today and were greeted by Sarah who seemed nice at first but then our group of 18 overwhelmed her in seconds and she became a B, a few of our group were at the bar as she complained that others at her table were ordering drinks with lemons and limes, WOW who does that??!? Won't go back she was not a happy B

The OV is honestly one of the best places to eat in Islamorada. The food is delicious and the staff is awesome. Every time I visit Islamorada I have stop at the OV. They have some of the best chicken wings in the Keys.

Food, service and ambiance were great but the prices was jumped lots over the past year. Will go here less but it was nice. Service was the best.

Staff is awesome- Food is usually ok, staff makes up for it - Prices are the same everywhere here , atmosphere you can get anywhere in the keys - Owner needs to retire - old and cranky to everyone- yells at customers - Lots of places to spend your money and time - I live here and there are plenty of better options to spend your money -

Stoped in to Gary Dunn's (ex Pgh Steeler) The OceanView while we were in Key Largo for the Steelers pre-season game #4, missed meeting Gary by a few minutes but met Gail & Mia, 'bartenders extroidenaire' who were super friendly & welcoming...! This is the Pittsburgh dive bar of the Keys! Unpretentious, Laid back, chill, dark, well worn, gritty... this is the kind of bar you walk in to as a virgin but walk out with a ton of new friends... We just came to drink but we saw the food and the steak sandwich was stellar! Prob a pound of steak on a 12" hoagie roll. Don't come in here for 5 star food but come in for bar food & the company... This place is a gem in the Keys...!

The very definition of a locals Keys dive bar. Look it up in Webster's. Not someplace I would recommend to my fastidious friends. That said they do have GREAT food, cold beer and stiff drinks in a dirty glass. I ordered a grilled dolphin sandwich and onion rings and it was just what I was looking for. Fresh, hot and delicious and at a reasonable price.

If you like wine in a particular cup this is your place!! Just came to drink not eat!! Food menu is typical dive bar food. Still looking for the ocean view!! Maybe perhaps through the mangroves past the cars than I might have a view of the bay!! Anyways cool Steeler themed bar!! Nothing fancy but just what you would expect for the keys local!! FYI don't always judge a book by its cover !! Cheers

We were in town during the last game that mattered for the Chiefs so it was an important game and could not be missed. This is the perfect place to watch. Outside in the fresh air, a view of the bay, tons of TVs (though the big ones and volume were tuned to Pittsburgh game), pretty decent food and cold drinks.

This is my new favorite spot! No frills but good food service and a good atmosphere. Love the chili they have an awesome special on Thursday night for steak and baked potato. They have a great happy hour as well.

It's a hole in the wall but that is totally ok! Found this place on the last day of my trip to Key West sadly. It's definitely a local joint but the food was great. I knew walking in from the states that the locals could sense an outside presence but the waitress was friendly. The Cuban sandwich I had was probably the best I have ever had. The kiddos had burgers and those were good also. The wife went with the bbq sliders and she had no complaints. The best thing was the price. Definitely great food with great prices. Great way to enjoy some local scenes and save some dough as well!!

Worst place I've ever seen complete scam no pictures match the reality that is this bike in the wall, 4 or 5 units facing the road was very seedy send like a bate and switch to me

I love this place- good food , lots of tv's, laid back atmosphere on the water, and one of the best cuban sandwiches i have ever eaten!

The food is average However what is holding back this place is the poor management. On multiple times we have sat inside at the bar, had the bartender walk past us 4 times without asking if we would like anything. At the time there were only 5 customers including us in the bar. Additional the manager walked past us twice without asking if we would like to order anything so we were just going to wait and see how long it would take to get waited on. After 14 minutes 2 ladies sitting across from us yelled at the bartender and said you know you have customers. She finally came and took our drink order. We wanted to stay and enjoy the patio so we went to the outside bar, this was mass confusion both bartenders were running around customers were sitting at the outside bar not getting waited on, because both bartenders were running tables. 1 should of been behind the bar. This was not the outside bartenders fault it is the managers fault for not training the staff on how to run their stations

As we let hopped down to Key West, we stopped by here with the dogs. Chris, the bartender, was super friendly and took great care of us and the dogs!! The chef came out and gave the dogs a treat. Staff, patrons snd location were fantastic!! Lots of TVs for sports, decent bar food and fabulous drinks! We even witnessed the local raccoon steal a snack from behind the bar :) we will definitely be back!

Good beer good wings- by the water. Lots of TVs but we sat facing the water. Very very casual- picnic tables. There was a bare foot shirtless child walking on the table tops which we were confused by - Everyone there seemed to know him. It's a good spot for a quick stop-

Great food, great staff. Made the keys enjoyable! Showed prelims of the UFC fight but unfortunately didn't get to see the PPV! Jameson Ginger drinks definitely helped my night.

Stopped here on our way from Miami to Key West. My husband is a huge fan of the series Bloodline and it was the perfect place to stop for lunch. We sat outside in the back around the fire pit as the day was chilly. I ordered the last item on the menu which was a seafood bisque and it was truly the most amazing seafood bisque I have ever eaten. It was spicy to a perfect degree and so large I could only finish half of it. We enjoyed the decor and the people were very nice. The value for that seafood dish was amazing. Please note this is a bar and folks there are relaxing and drinking and as such I wouldn't recommend this as a fabulous place to bring a family of children. My only regret is that someone was setting up live music and we couldn't stay long enough to hear it.
