Orlando’s Best Taco Restaurants | Eater Miami

"Just past the western fringes of the city sits this roadside taqueria plating lengua, shrimp, barbacoa, and flounder tacos out of its humble (and cute) digs ever since going brick-and-mortar in 2015. Quesatacos (a quesadilla-taco crossover) are a signature offering. For the tortilla-averse, lettuce shell as well as crispy-fried cheese shell tacos are offered." - Faiyaz Kara

We’ve been going to Ocoee Taco Company for about 5 years now and it never disappoints. The food is 100 percent original and traditional with hands down the best tacos in Orlando. The flavors are always on point and the service is top notch every single time. It’s the kind of place you keep coming back to because they consistently get it right. If you haven’t been yet do yourself a favor and go!

I expected the tacos to be a little better, it was ok. Ordered the steak tacos, too dry. Guy on the register was on the phone a little too much before taking the order. But the other people running the food were very kind.

Love this place! Recommend thoroughly. Fresh, authentic. Great hospitality! Will be back for sure. I had a chicken burrito-it's cubed not shredded and full of flavor. My husband at tostadas and a kiddo had a bean burrito. Delish!!

Julia, the owner, is an absolute sweetheart. I went to Walmart after work to pick up some soup, medicine, and a small grocery haul for my sister who was at home sick, but I left empty handed because I didn't have my physical card and I didn't know that Walmart in the US doesn't accept apple pay (I was only in town for the summer). As I get back to my car and text my sister, I get a knock on my window. Julia saw me leave empty handed, and asked if I needed any money; she would not take no for an answer. She brought me back into the store, recovered my cart, and paid for all of my groceries. She told me that I reminded her of her son, and I learned that she has a Mexican restaurant just a short ways away. When my sister was feeling better, we eagerly visited and were happy we did. The Ocoee Taco Company is the perfect spot for those seeking delicious, authentic Mexican flavours. Food was incredibly tasty, service was quick, and we did not leave hungry. Above all else, the owner is a truly good person. I would and do not hesitate to recommend this place to any friends in the area seeking a quality Mexican meal.

Google
My family and I were recommended this restaurant by friends. Let me tell you LINDA. It was amazing. The chips and queso 5 stars. The tacos 5 stars. The building is small and cozy. The staff is very friendly and attentive. This place feels like a mom and pop shop. I will be going back every time I pass town. 10/10 recommend.

Google
Authentic Food. Staff/Owners very friendly. When you walk in, you automatically feel a homey vibe in the restaurant like you’re in a Mexican family’s home. I tried the chicken street taco and it was good. Served on a corn tortilla with cilantro, lime, and salsa. Would recommend trying this place for yourself!

Shrimp tacos were good, prices are very high for quantity of food delivered to the table. $9.50 for chips and salsa, $17. for three tiny shrimp tacos. Wife left half of her steak quesadilla behind. I wouldn't return.

Yelp
We went back to Ocoee Taco Company for lunch on a Saturday when it was about 80 degrees and not humid. It was the beautiful day to sit outside, and the restaurant has some shaded seating on the side of the building. It was perfect. This visit, I ordered the Burritas with seasoned pork, or Burritas Pastor. It was a burrito with shredded pork that's been pressed flat like a panini. It. Was. Amazing. So flavorful and cheesy. It came with a small "salad" of shredded lettuce and tomatoes. This will definitely be my go-to on future visits. I absolutely loved it. The service was great again, too!

Yelp
Very friendly service! This establishment has very few tables if you decide to dine in and gets quite busy during lunch. The food was good, but this is the second time we visited and maybe the prices went up? The chips and salsa I think was $10? There is ample parking out front with a few photo ops in the giant chair out front. Menu is pretty simple and is only displayed on the wall. I ordered the quesadilla with only veggies. It came with a salad. My husband had the chicken tacos and asked for no cilantro but he still got it anyway. I guess he has that 'cilantro soap' tongue.. lol.

Yelp
We've passed this place 100 times and finally decided to stop in and we are glad we did! The food is delicious, and I'll get there, but the absolute highlight of this place was the employee at the front counter. I wish I knew a name but I dont, but she was so helpful!! We were looking at the menu on the wall and she said "come over here, i'll answer all of your questions!" She then told us about the current specials, and made suggestions, and answered every question. She also made sure to come over when they got my order wrong (I asked for no beans, it came with beans, they fixed it). She apologized and was just polite about it. Anyways, the tacos were great, the sauces on the table were flavorful and had a spice level for everyone! I will definitely be going back for more pork tacos and to try some new things.

Yelp
That time of year and we got our tamales today just in time for Christmas Eve. OTC came through like usual with 4 trays of this deliciousness.

Yelp
It had been on my list to try and was finally around the area and decided to stop by. I thought for a sec that I was not going to find the restaurant among all the warehouses but sure did. The owner is friendly, attentive and more than happy to answer any questions, make suggestions or explain the menu. I ordered their cheese taco special that comes with 3 tacos (small tortilla), rice and beans. The chicken and pastor were tasty and wished the tacos had a bit more filling. Not a bad stop but a bit on the higher price for tacos around the area.

Yelp
Anoche nos escapamos a @ocoeetacocompany a probar los #tacos #keto con #carnealpastor que estaban deliciosos al igual que el #guacamole ,los #tacosalpastor y las #enchiladassuizas. Last night we escaped to @ocoeetacocompany to try the #keto #tacos with #carnealpastor that were delicious as well as the #guacamole, the #tacosalpastor and the #Swiss enchiladas.

Yelp
A tiny building just outside of the Ocoee Downtown, this place is authentic and a great value. They prefer being paid in cash, but they take credit. They have some tasty sauces, too. The Hot Red one is almost too much -- the Green Hot one was perfect, adding a fresh pepper flavor to the Rice and Beans that came with my Green Enchilada plate. We didn't get the Chips and Salsa this time...maybe next time. Glad we stopped here - and just before the after church crowd! Word has apparently gotten out!

Yelp
Great service, simple no frills attached. Order at the counter and food gets served fast. Husband and wife co-own the place with wife's recipes and husbands business mind they have created a Mexican Mecca. Great simple food and some yummy sauces for your taste. Seating is limited so go in off peak periods. Salsa was quite different than other Mexican places but quite good. Tacos are small. I am a petite woman and I can eat easily 4-5 tacos. Recommend the steak or shrimp tacos. Fish taco were fried so not my favorite. We ordered Chicken quesadillas for kids and that portion wAs big although I wish it came with rice and beans. Tortilla chipa definitely order as they are different than the ones we usually get and not as salty.

Yelp
Wow, friend had told me I needed to check this place out and boy they were right. Pricing is good and the Mexican food is authentic! Definitely a go to!

Yelp
I haven't been here in SO long and it was my boyfriend's first time here (FINALLY)! I forget they started out as a cutie little taco truck by the uhaul place which i used to go to all the time! This authentic Mexican restaurant is right in the heart of Ocoee and so fun! It's small and there aren't too too many options but the quality is incredible! You HAVE to get chips and salsa and guacamole to start off because it is some of the best I've ever had! I got the tacos (my favorite) which are tiny so you can get a few of the same kind or mix them up and get a variety! I got chicken and steak! The burrita is one of their best selling items i feel like! It's like a burrito and quesadilla combined-- delicious! It's tiny inside the restaurant but there is still seating if you want to eat there! You order at the counter first and then can sit or get it to go! Everything seems so fresh and homemade! The staff is welcoming and friendly and even when we kept adding onto our order, the staff member was very patient and kind! Need to go back here more often! Also it's a great photo op spot as there is a HUGE colorful chair outside! Can't miss it! :-)

Yelp
Well I think I found my new place for some authentic Mexican food! When I walked in, I was greeted by the person who I'm assuming was the owner and he said "How did you find us out in the middle of nowhere?" Funny enough, if it wasn't for yelp I wouldn't have known to go here for lunch. I happened to be in the area for a doctors appointment and was starving. This place popped up on my yelp search so I decided to give it a try. And boy am I glad I did! I needed a little bit of help in deciding what to get, so he suggested the combo taco platter. I must say they were absolutely delicious! The taco size is about the palm of my hand so I'd say about 4 inch tacos? The chicken tacos were great. Everything tasted really fresh, and the taco had just the right amount of crunch to it. I will say, diner beware... The two sauces they bring to the table are extremely spicy. That... Or I'm just a wimp haha. I put a dot of each on my tongue and I was on fire. But I can never handle any kind of spice so that was to be expected. Please check out this little hidden gem in Ocoee! The price is right, and the food is as authentic as you're going to get!

Yelp
Ambiance was nice , great food fist time going there on Saturday after a long day at work you can sit outside or inside I chose to go outside nice music playing and the ladies are very nice and sweet.will go there again and again.this is one place I will recommend.service was good too.

Yelp
Not sure what happened with the green chicken enchiladas but they were absolutely disgusting! Pretty sure the chicken was left over remnants in the bottom of the pan. Tough tasteless and unrecognizable to say the least. * You should take them off the menu.
google avatar

Yelp
First time trying this restaurant, turned out to be a good lunch spot in downtown Ocoee. Get there early because seating is limited also prepare to wait as food is cooked to order. The tortilla chips were very crispy and tasted like they were made from wheat flour as opposed to corn, and you must order them, they aren't free. The salsa is served with avocado which is fine as if you don't like it like I it's easily removed. I order chocked sopes which were very delicious. They cost 5.95 ea. They are served with a sope tortilla type with beans, chicken, lettuce, tomato, jack cheese and sour cream. Good flavor, served hot.

Yelp
This is my favorite authentic local Taco joint‼ Taco Tuesday, Cinco de Mayo... or any other opportunity I get that Mexican hungering... this spot satisfies‼

Jos W.

Yelp
The food is great and flavorful! They have a nice variety of hot sauce incase you are a milder or spicier person. We were greeted as soon as we entered and they were very nice. I had a wonderful lunch with my family, we sat in the cute and comfy outside tables. Love it!
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
Delicious and friendly family run business. The staff was very friendly and made great recommendations. I tried four different kinds of tacos, guacamole, queso with chorizo, and chips along with a bottled coke. It was all wonderful. I will definitely be back!
google avatar

Jaime R.

Yelp
Very good tacos. Authentic but very small so heads up when ordering. I like the outdoor seating when the weather is nice.

Efain R.

Yelp
Food is absolutely delicious and the best I've had. Would highly recommend the tacos and the burrita.

Janine C.

Yelp
Great food! Loved the atmosphere. Will return if I fly back to Orlando. Portions are large, and salsa fresh and spicy
google avatar

Maegan I.

Yelp
Best Mexican my husband and I have ever had and we're from South Florida! The quality of the food never misses and we typically get take out. Everything has so much flavor and there's such a variety. Prices are fair and the service is phenomenal. We eat here at least once a week!!! Definitely check them out for authentic Mexican!
google avatar

Yelp
Once a well known food truck this taco place stands out for being a local small business, family owned and using the freshest ingredients. I enjoyed the special menu featuring their infamous fish tacos and today's fish grouper. My honey bunny had the barbacao beef burrito and it would be enough for two people to share with a small appetite, but not for my 6'3 215 pound honey bunny. He knocked that back with no problem. Enjoy!!!

Derek S.

Yelp
Fresh homemade food I was very impressed with the green chilies enchiladas I ordered and friendly service. I'll definitely return.

Yelp
I stopped in here a few times and each time the food was better and better, the staff helped me choose the meal and I must say they pointed me in the right direction. Their quesadillas are my favs i definitely recommend you getting that and a Jarritos to drink of course.

Yelp
Hole in the Wall Heaven!! I didn't know what I wanted for lunch, I just knew I wanted to venture out of the house for a few hours. Somehow I decided on Mexican and Yelp led me here. It is the quintessential hidden gem tucked away in a corner of Ocoee. Glad I went. The people were all so friendly. Everybody. The staff and patrons alike. As I sat outside waiting for my order, every customer that walked in said hello and had a pleasant word to share. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. I ordered chicken Flautas and a chicken burrita (that's right, burrita, not burrito). I consider myself a flairs connoisseur and these were top notch! I will be back many times.
google avatar

Jei C.

Yelp
The tacos special is what I had today. A little expensive for what you get. However ( WOW) those 3 little tacos were some of the best I've ever had! Just saying!

Dawn C.

Yelp
Tried for first time tonight! While the taco is Really Good, $4.25 for a 3.5 inch taco! Pics are deceiving!
google avatar

Katie R.

Yelp
Loved this authentic dive! It's a cute atmosphere. It's definitely a dive but, maybe over time they could update the outdoor patio furniture ;) and inside seating area. Bring cash to keep the cost down but, it was very garden like and authentic tortillas. Could be more meaty.
google avatar

Yelp
We got takeout food from the Ocoee Taco Factory. It was really delicious. The place was crowded but the food was ready at the promised time and packed beautifully. The parking lot is very large and has enough room to socially distance outdoors even though the indoors is so small. We had three pork tamales dressed with shredded cheese, sour cream and cilantro and onions, a Barbicoa taco (Sue aso Ed beef) , a taco lengua (tounued), guacamole ( huge), the chicken soup, and a vegetarian enchilada dish that come with rice and beans. We also got a side order of their very delicious homemade green salsa (mild). All of the food was exceptionally good and the tamales were STEAMING Hot as if they had just been cooked at home!
google avatar

Jefe H.

Yelp
We finally visited this taco joint. Enjoyed our food. Especially the tacos, gorditas, and sopes. It wasn't busy on a Tuesday afternoon and they have a number of outdoor tables. Inside is a bit tight. The food that we had was much like a Mexican taco stand. It's nothing fancy but staff is very nice and service was quick. We'll be back.
google avatar

Chad G.

Yelp
Food was overpriced, not what I expected at all. Service was great , tacos were not the best .
google avatar

Dee L.

Yelp
What can I say?? This gem in the quaint area of Ocoee is phenomenally fresh! I didn't have a chance to dine in and eat there however my food was still amazing even at home. I ordered the shrimp tacos, chicken quesadilla, and chips with queso. The shrimp tacos were super fresh. I squeezed the lime that came with them and added their hot sauce and oh.my.gosh...*chef's kiss*...Perfection! I liked the chicken quesadilla however the shredded chicken was a little too mushy for my taste buds. The chips had a wonderful crunch and taste. They're thicker than your normal restaurant chip. Paired with homemade salsa and queso was a match made in Heaven! Overall I highly recommend this spot whenever you're in the area!

Yelp
I moved to central Florida from central Texas about 5 months ago and had all but given up on finding a great taco. Lo and behold, just when I needed it, The Ocoee Taco Company. It feels a little bit like central Texas here and that is a great thing. Top notch ingredients and well made food is what you'll get here. Portion sizes are a little bit small for the price but that has been the trend with food prices lately. I will be back, however, with a smile on my face.
google avatar

Amy B.

Yelp
Best fish tacos ever. This place is amazing. Don't pass it by. We've tried other tacos and they were excellent as well but the fish tacos are the best.
google avatar

Mary Louise R.

Yelp
I don't normally enjoy tacos. At all. Not my flavor choice, but this place is amazing. I rarely say no to Ocoee Taco company. Their food is always fresh and delicious. The service is so kind and attentive. 10/10 for this small but amazing food spot

Kennedy W.

Yelp
the best taco spot around , amazing service and even better food. the food comes out fast and is always fresh. the burritos and quesadillas are an amazing portion and I never leave disappointed
google avatar

Kim S.

Yelp
Although the guy upfront could have been more welcoming, I was here for the tacos!! When we go to Pelican Snowballs and DG Doughnuts, we pass by this taco place. The tacos are delicious. They are the small, street tacos so order accordingly. My mom ordered two chicken tacos and used the hot sauce. She enjoyed hers. I ordered a beef and pork taco. I put the mild sauce on mine. Great tacos. You order at the counter and then they bring your tacos to you. Many other things are on the menu.

Nick F.

Yelp
Was ok for the price. The quesadilla was just meat and cheese, it tasted like it was a cheese steak sandwich more than a quesadilla. I'll try the tacos next time.
google avatar

Olga U.

Yelp
I consider myself a taco connoisseur and the Ocoee Taco Company has yet to disappoint. This is a blink and you'll miss it kinda spot located in a super strange area. But always worth the drive! I've been here a handful of times and always try something new, and so far, everything has been amazing. The flavors are excellent, the veggies are fresh, the meats are expertly prepared, and the servings are abundant. Prices are fair and service is friendly. I truly can't ask for more in a taco place and as of now, this is hand down my favorite taco spot in Orlando. Great job, Ocoee!
google avatar

Kathryn R.

Yelp
Had carne asado burrito, chips n salsa and chicken taquitos. Burrito was really salty for our visit. We enjoyed the other items. Staff was super friendly! We'll return and try something new.
google avatar

Reed B.

Yelp
Wow. When I happened to be in the area for a doctors appointment, I never knew searching for "Mexican" in Yelp would help me stumble upon this amazing whole in the wall Mexican restaurant! Delicious and flavorful from top to bottom starting from the Chips and Home made salsa (with pieces of avocado in it!) to every entree we tried. Chose your dish, chose your meat and enjoy! Restaurant and bathroom are very clean and they have a very nice outside patio. It is in a slightly rural/industrial area but it's worth the drive. Everyone working there was very friendly and is clearly taking Covid seriously. They also have a good selection of Mexican sodas in addition to traditional offerings. This really is Mexican food worth going out of your way for.
google avatar

Chris D.

Yelp
This is a great little spot! The food is authentic and very tasty. The staff is super friendly and kind. I had the beef burrito and it was yummy! We also got the chips and guacamole - the guacamole was some of the best I've had.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite "dives" in the area for authentic and delicious food! PLUS... they have keto tacos!!! The "keto tacos" are not on the main menu boards (they're written on a small wipe board), but they do have them so just ask. They have two options for their keto tacos where they use low carb options for the shell to ensure they are keto friendly. You can get your keto tacos wrapped in lettuce or, my personal favorite, cheese shells! I usually order chicken tacos (you get three), but I've had the beef, shrimp and pork as well and while they're all delicious, the chicken is my favorite. I don't know what they do to make the chicken taste so good (I think they may slow cook them) but it's seriously mouth watering! If you like, they'll let you mix up your flavors: ie get two chicken and one beef. They're super flexible and accommodating! The tacos comes with lettuce, fresh avocado, tomato and onion along with cilantro and lime wedges. I always ask for a couple of extra slices of lime because I like to squeeze fresh lime juice on my tacos. For my non-keto, carb eating husband, he raves about the tamales! He has also had the enchiladas and tacos and loved them as well. FYI they don't give free chips here, but ordering a side of chip and salsa won't break the bank. They also don't sell alcohol so no margaritas or beer to wash the food down. Those two things would normally bother me, but trust me, the delicious food makes up for it!
google avatar

Xander C.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! Great, authentic Mexican food. You must go and try it. Small location but nice, quiet and friendly atmosphere.

Yelp
As soon as we walked in there was a man behind the counter who greeted us. He was extremely nice from the beginning to the time we left and that's why it pains me to write this review. I got a chicken quesadilla and steak taco. The steak taco was extremely dry and tasted nothing like steak, nor looked like it. I honestly think they served me a different meat. They offer three different sauces on the table and I had to put a large amount on my taco for it to be edible. I probably wouldn't even of ate it, but due to an issue with my quesadilla I was starving. The chicken quesadilla was also dry due to the very little cheese and dry chicken. After I ate one piece and went to pick up another the tortilla flapped open to reveal a bug, it looked like a love bug. I showed the younger female who was working there and she initially noted there was hardly any cheese. It wasn't until I pointed out the bug that she apologized and offered to fix it. I was put off by the whole experience and declined. We went to pay no more then 10 minutes later and the same female rung us up. She initially charged us for my meal. It was not until we brought it to her attention about the bug, once again, did she remove it. This isn't an establishment I'd return to.

Yelp
Great food and service was on point I would definitely recommend this place to everyone

Yelp
In town and was looking for a good taco. This place hit the spot!!! SO Soooo GOOD! The table sauces we wished they bottles to take home. Everything was made with love and you could taste it... a must try if you haven't!

Mike P.

Yelp
The food is so good and the staff is very friendly. You will not be disappointed as long as you remember they are a small business that prides themselves in doing it right. Don't forget to ask for the green hot sauce.
google avatar

Yelp
Best tacos in Ocoee/WG!!! You gotta try the guac too. Only like $2.50/taco for your choice of meat & fresh, shredded mozzarella melted on corn tortillas w onions & cilantro & 4 sauces to choose from = YUM!!!! Make it your local go-to taco spot

Yelp
When I tell you I was pleasantly surprised by the food we got here!! I live 2 hours away and would drive all the way here to get this authentic Mexican food! The food was flavorful and served hot! The service was too notch and every suggestion the the man at the front told us about was spot on. Please do yourself a favor and try any and everything on the menu here you won't regret it!
