Visited The Octopus’s Garden Cafe & Bistro during an East Coast road trip and I can confidently say that it was one of the worst places I’ve grabbed food at in all the provinces I visited. First and foremost, the attitude of the main manager lady is awful. She has short grey hair and had one of the worst attitudes I’ve ever seen in the customer service industry. Lots of eye rolls and passive aggressive remarks, and just rude behaviour in general. Even her attitude could be overlooked if the food was good, but it was extremely lack lustre. I ordered a $32 lobster roll for it to come out the size of my palm and practically deconstructed. $32 for something so incredibly tiny is absolutely insane. I don’t mind paying a little bit more for good quality food and a fair portion - it doesn’t even have to be big. But these people give you practically nothing and called it a meal. Definitely would not be filling enough for one person and absolutely no way you could share this with someone else even if you wanted to. The only reason why I didn’t give The Octopus’s Garden Cafe & Bistro a 1 star review is because of the other waitress who helped with our order and because of the lemon crumble square I got. The other waitress who assisted with our order was much kinder and clearly knows what good customer service is. She was kind, quick and communicative throughout the entire process. The only other thing worth mentioning is the lemon crumble square. One square is $6 which is quite pricey for a piece of pastry, but it was very well done. The lemon curd filing was well matched with the crumble base and the crumble sprinkled on top. My main takeaways from dining at The Octopus’s Garden Cafe & Bistro: - Food is extremely pricey for the small portion size you get. Chances are you will not be getting your money’s worth. - Customer service is varied depending on which employee is working, but can definitely leave you with a sour taste in your mouth if your are met with the wrong attitude. - Pastries and coffee maybe the only things worth going to this cafe for, as those are the only items that you get your money’s worth for. In my experience, if you can save your time and money, do it and go somewhere else for your food. There is a fish and chips place down the road that gives you much better food and a much better portion size. Try and save the hassle of having to possibly deal with a cold attitude and try some place that may value customer service a little bit more.

Is this a joke ? Whoever is leaving 5 stars to this place probably never had seafood before. We had the lobster pasta and it was perfectly bland. I would've been ok with it if the meal didn't cost FIFTY ONE dollars. For an average meal this is simply outrageous. There was the equivalent of 1/3 of a lobster in the whole plate. We wanted to have something special and were very disappointed. The waitress was the only positive aspect of the whole experience. If you're going anyway I recommend the french Chardonnay with seafood-based meals.

We stopped here on the way back to our AirBnB. The food was excellent! The employees are very friendly and hospitable. We sat outside on the back deck next to the creek and listened to running water and birds while eating. I ordered the Garlic Alfredo and my spouse ordered the Local Duck Leg Confit. Recommended for a more fancier dining setting. Menu for the dinner has been pictured in my photos. PS. There are tons of baked goodies and specialty Cafe drinks available for purchase as well!

The food was good I’m not gonna lie but the wait time was an absolute nightmare. We arrived at the restaurant at 6:00 PM and our food wasn’t fully served until 8:36 PM. Can you imagine waiting more than two hours for dinner? At first we didn’t even notice the delay since we were enjoying each other’s company and catching up. But things started to feel off when a waitress came by around 7:30 PM to let us know the food was “coming soon.” That’s when it hit us that we had already been waiting over an hour. By 7:45 PM, still nothing. One of my friends asked the server for an update and she told us it would be about 10 more minutes and they offered some bread while we waited. It was a nice gesture but by 8:00 PM still no food. Another friend asked for a follow-up and again we were told “10 more minutes.” We were ready to leave at that point but the server assured us the food was finally on its way. The first four dishes came out at 8:25 PM and my order didn’t arrive until 8:36 PM and it was incorrect. I had ordered amatriciana with chicken but it came without chicken. To make up for the inconvenience they did give us a discount which we appreciated but honestly it didn’t feel like enough to make up for the experience. We’ve been here a few times and really love the food but this kind of delay is just too much. It seems like the kitchen is understaffed and there’s poor communication between the staff and guests about delays. Great food but unfortunately the service and especially the wait times leave a lot to be desired.

Google
I never leave reviews but this place was so lovely I felt compelled to share! We came for lunch and sat on the patio which overlooks a stream and is surrounded by greenery. The ambiance was perfect and our server was attentive and kind! The scallop salad and cod sandwich were sooooo yummy. Would love to come back <3

I was not able to take photos of the food as I was really famished. I don’t really like tomato soup but this restaurant serves the best tomato soup I’ve ever had in my life! It’s really one of a kind and taste really fresh. We had lunch so I also had their southern chicken salad that was so good and the portion was a really good size. My husband did enjoy his lobster roll!! We can’t wait to be back and order the fresh pasta. Love love the food but the service can be slow… Been visiting this since the first time we ate here. The food really is superb! Their fresh pasta is even better than the famous Italian restaurant in Saint John! I can only say good things about the food!!! But yes service can be slow and the servers are not that friendly. Either way, I’d be back just cause of the food!!! You don’t really find good food here in NB

Google
Had a tomato based pasta with scallops. Was outrageously delicious. Probably the best pasta I've ever had. Scallops were cooked to perfection and you can tell the noodles are homemade, and they were cooked to perfection, also. Whatever type of cheese is infused........WOW! Cheezuz!!! Highly recommend this restaurant. Their coffee is great, too! This place is quaint~a hidden gem. Highly recommended.

We are vacationing in Alma New Brunswick, and we came across this gem I recommend 10 out of 10. We have also ate everywhere in Alma and this is by far the best. Coming from a foodie who has basically ate everywhere in southern Ontario you need to try this place

Yelp
The food was delicious and service excellent . We had mussels and raw oysters. The seafood curry was really good.

Yelp
We went way out off our route to this charmer based on several yelp reviews and wow were we glad we did. Server Abby was a delight and gave us top notch service with a smile. My wife and I shared a bowl of the seafood curry which had an abundance of seafood. I ordered a sandwich thinking the curry split between us wouldn't be enough, but nay nay, we couldn't eat it all. Had to take the sandwich to go. Quaint town and wonderful cafè. If take the time to seek this one out you won't be disappointed. Seriously, get the curry, food of the gods!

Yelp
This is a hidden gem! The food is so fresh, they literally pick it from the deck in front of you and take it inside the kitchen! The homemade pasta is divine and the service is wonderful. Highly recommend this very special restaurant!

Yelp
We were told when we arrived that the kitchen was behind and it would take 45-60 minutes for the food. We asked whether the appetizers would take as long and were told that it would be out sooner. It took 35 minutes before they told us they were out of the lamb dish I ordered. It took an hour for us to get the appetizers that were supposed to be out earlier, which comprised of six half shells of raw oyster, and a cheese and bread plate (which would not need much prep time, honestly.) I changed my dish from lamb to the carbonara pasta. It was so incredibly salty it was inedible. I could not finish the dish despite being really hungry by this point. I informed the waitress who did not apologize or offer any other compensation. The scallops in the pasta dish were excellent, which was the only bright part of the entire meal, which cost us almost $300 Canadian. Very disappointed

Yelp
The lobster pasta dish was so delicious....home made pasta with a lovely rich (but not too rich) sauce with chunks of lobster meat. This meal came with a very nice salad and a fresh baguette. The food was great but the service, although friendly, was excruciating slow. We were seated outside and when my dessert finally came, I actually just took it home as we were getting too cold to enjoy the evening any more.

Yelp
Tasty lobster pasta in Alma. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. Loved the cook books and rock artwork in the main indoor eating space. Staff are friendly.

Yelp
Big signs at the front counter: CLAMS! SCALLOPS! OYSTERS! LOBSTER! But there were no clams or scallops or lobsters on the menu. "Oh, those signs are just for decoration," the waitress said. Really? They did have oysters, and my wife said they were fine, as was her pan seared cod. My duck leg confit was perfectly adequate as well. We had no significant complaints about our meals, but in an area that purports to be the seafood capital of the world, one would think there would be more seafood options.

Yelp
We stopped here at Alma for dinner. This place is known for their handmade pasta and sauces, so we decided to try their lobster pasta and fundy scallop pasta. The cream sauce on the scallops were not too heavy and the scallops were cooked perfectly. The sauce for the lobster pasta was made with lobster stock and it was light and refreshing which complimented the lobster. There were many lobster pieces; however the lobster was slightly overcooked. Overall, it was a very good dish, and both dishes were delicious. Definitely would come back here for some really good pasta dish.

Yelp
This food is inspired. The flavors are heavenly. Went here multiple days for dinner and no matter what we ordered, from appetizer to coffee with dessert, was hands-down the best we had ever had. I have celiac and didn't have to think about gluten free options -- everything I wanted was available -- to include the homemade pasta. Get the peanut butter chocolate chip cookie for dessert and ask for a few to go because you'll want to eat more later! Also appreciate the laid-back, cozy vibe -- after a day of hiking in the National Park, it was nice to change into comfortable travel clothes for dinner out but still eat 5-star food.

Yelp
The food was great, with a laid back atmosphere. The menu isn't huge but has enough variety. They are best known for handmade pasta. Of note - there is a children's menu but from the time we were seated to food arriving was just nearly two hours so it is probably best enjoyed without young children in tow.

Yelp
What an excellent place! The food was fine-dining quality (in an area where most restaurants seem to mostly deep fry everything). It's a cute comfortable cafe and the service was excellent. We enjoyed sautéed fresh fish, the small bowl of lobster bisque (which was big chunks of lobster with a brief cover of sauce), and the mussels. Everyone around us expresses delight with everything they ordered.

Yelp
My wife and I had dinner at this restaurant on Sunday night. In Alma, there are very few places that serve menu items that are not primarily seafood oriented. The reviews posted were recent and seemed very favorable. While the service was just okay, the menu options were very limited and not representative of the images portrayed on yelp. We choose pasta dishes based upon the menu statement that the pasta is made fresh daily. Today the "fresh" pasta was fettuccine. We will not make the mistake of ordering that again. The ambience emphasized style over comfort and the acoustics were just awful as my wife and I could barely hear one another. The menu items we ordered were really overpriced and just not anything to write home about. What really made me feel ripped off though was when examining the bill, I found that they changed us $2.50 for extra grated cheese for our meal. Don't waste your time and money on this restaurant.

Yelp
What a wonderful, warm place. We ate three of our four meals here while in town. Breakfasts were wonderful and the dinner excellent. And all was fresh made. The croissants were just perfect, and not at all like what are commonly called croissants. Eggs benedict on fresh toasted muffin. Our dinner was prepared with fresh pasta. Wasn't sure that would make a difference but it sure did. A new pasta experience for me. Service was quite friendly and prompt. What's not to like?

Yelp
As a traveler, you only get one chance to experience some places. This was an unhappy experience. The kitchen performed as if they had been slammed and/or were down some regular staff. The wait staff also appeared out of sorts and were unfortunately inattentive to tables in terms of bringing menus, taking orders, looking after water glasses, etc. It was odd. One of those experiences where 85 percent of the time is spent waiting for something or someone and 15 percent is spent eating. The food was pleasant when it came, though a couple who came after us and complained got their food before us and were out of there before we finished eating.
google avatar

Yelp
We had lunch and breakfast here - both outstanding. You need to try a home baked muffin - the baker is a star! Scallops are done perfectly, really fresh greens, lovely service and magical ambience. We highly recommend.

Cindy S.

Yelp
We sat outside on the deck as we had our dog with us. She warned us when we walked in that the kitchen was backed up and we didn't mind we had nothing else going on this evening and greatly appreciated the honesty. The pasta is delicious and the cake is good. Excellent service. We'll be back to try breakfast.

Yelp
This place has the freshest most delicious food!!! Absolutely fantastic. The tables could be updated but the owners are amazing.

Elizabeth G.

Yelp
Food was super fresh and tasty. That staff went out of their way to "make" my husband a lemonade. While we didn't sit outside because it was a bit too chilly after our walk outside, the view from the deck looked very nice. The playlist in the background set a nice mood and the local herbal teas on hand were a great selection. Highly recommended as a stop while exploring the area.

Yelp
Great find! We went for coffee one afternoon and discovered the baked goods. The ginger molasses cookies are some of the best. We returned the next morning for breakfast. The egg sandwich was delicious, bacon cooked perfectly. And they had fresh baked blueberry muffins. They were chock full of blueberries, not too sweet and not cakey. These are the best we've had since Diane's in Roslindale, MA closed. For some reason the bakery down the street in Alma gets a lot of play, I'd skip it and go to OGC. Ambiance is simple and friendly. Our server was super nice, even when she was the only one handling multiple tables, making coffee and running the register. If we are back near Fundy we will make this place a destination.

Yelp
Wonderful waitress at a quiet cafe alongside the Chignecto Bay. I ordered Pinot Grigio with cheese & baguette as an appetizer and the lamb shank entree. Tender meat, perfectly-seasoned vegetables and creamy potatoes made a perfect meal

Yelp
Food was amazing, family came here on vacation and we all had different items from carbonara, chicken ptarmigan, smoked salmon and pesto. We added scallops to our dishes and was the best thing you could do! Everything tasted great and the service was kind and helpful. We will be back should we come be back in the area!

Yelp
The seafood and home made pasta is out of this world!! Super fresh ingredients and tasty food! What a gem!

Sandra D.

Yelp
We enjoyed breakfast there for two days and dinner for two days also. The food was amazing! Everything is homemade. Homemade pasta, muffins, cake. The service was spot on. They even remembered the type of tea we like and how we like it. A hidden gem!

James B.

Yelp
My family and I spent a week in the area and this is the best restaurant by far. I grew up in Manhattan and can be judgmental about food. This place did not disappoint. Their fresh pasta dishes are amazing. They have arguably the best lobster roll/sandwich we had with the exception of one place in Maine. The lobster here fortunately is light on the mayo! I even tried the ramen noodles which I was hesitant to at first being Asian and like I mentioned being from New York City. How they created such a great ramen dish here in a small town like Alma is beyond me. Their desserts which are made on the premises (by Cheryl, I believe) are awesome. After trying other places in Alma, we ended up eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner here. Lastly the service is great and they have a back deck overlooking a babbling brook.

Yelp
Probably the best restaurant in Alma. My Arrabiatta on fresh linguine was robust, fresh, and tasty. Everyone enjoyed their dishes, and the waitress was great with our kids. They feature local beer and wine. If you are staying in Alma, this is one you want to visit.

K T.

Yelp
The waitress was lovely and did great for being the only one there. As others mentioned, wait times were long. Food was ok. We wouldn't go back.

Yelp
This is a cute cafe that is owned by a young woman from another country if I remember correctly. Pasta was very good. The bread of the veggie sandwich was crusty as I like it. Our server was knowledgeable and accommodating to our request for a table outside so we could enjoy the summer evening. It was a nice ending to a road trip to New Brunswick.
google avatar

Rob B.

Yelp
Order an Americano. That may have been the best coffee I ever had - balanced, full-flavored, not smoky at all, wow. Should've ordered a bigger size. Gluten free options as well. Tantalizing cinnamon roles. Can't... break... free... must... order... Great staff. The Italian sandwich was good, not great.
google avatar

Yelp
I heard about this place from reddit and I was SO disappointed. The menu is mostly pasta, and very overpriced. I had a lobster wrap, and it was straight up spoiled. The smell was fishy (in a bad, not fresh way) when I opened the wrap, but I was SO hungry that I ate a few bites. It was disgusting and I had to throw it away. I felt super sick from it. My husband had a salami sandwich. The bread was hard/stale and ice cold. There were barely any fillings in it. How do you even mess up a salami sandwich? To top it all, this stuff was expensive, like 30$ in total or something like that.

Yelp
We stopped by this cute little restaurant on our way through and they literally made our experience absolutely splendid. We just wanted a small snack so our plan was to split a dish and they were beyond accommodating. We ordered the big breakfast(14$) which had ham, bacon, eggs, fruit, toast, potatoes and a pancake. It was enough to split for two people - they even put it on two separate plates which was such a cute touch. The food was delicious, my favourite part would have to be the potatoes. They told us that everything is locally grown, which is exciting and rare. It made everything taste a little better. My partner got a coffee from here and spent the entire morning raving about how good it was. The decor is beautiful, super clean, easily accessible. They have a patio. Would highly recommend! The service was phenomenal and the food was great, there was also a group of 7 children and a few adults so it is a great spot for groups and kids. A very open area. LOVED it!

Yelp
We ate here for dinner, breakfast, and a take out for one dinner. When we ate here first for dinner, the very nice waitress informed us that we could sit immediately but that it would take about 1/2 hour for the food to be ready. We were not in a rush and appreciated the heads up. I had amazing homemade paste with Alfredo sauce. I was so surprised it was good because I am a food snob and make my pasta. My husband had one of the best seafood dishes ever (bouillabaisse seafood based). They do not have a great wine list but serve some local wines. They also offer beer. We had a great breakfast as well; their coffee is great and eggs benefit hit the spot. We did not enjoy our take out. One night we wanted to eat at our cottage. They had take out lobster sushi rolls and vegetarian rolls. both were marked that they were made three days prior. They were dry. On another positive note, they have a refridge and sell local produce. We bought great local strawberries and snap peas.

Yelp
The tomato and herb soup was outstanding, added a grilled cheese and it was like fine dining. Finished off with a gluten free peanut butter chocolate chip cookie...I am in love! Excellent coffee and awesome staff.

Yelp
Best Breakfast we had all week in Alma. Skillet and eggs & bacon were great! Very good quality vs price

Yelp
The best meal we have had on our trip so far!! We had our dog with us and they let us dine on their patio which was really nice. Our server was very friendly and answered any questions we had with the menu. I'm not sure if this place is open year round but definitely a local gem! Their dinner menu isn't extensive but what they do they do well. They have homemade pasta with different sauces and you can add seafood or take out meat to make it vegetarian. We ordered the class tomato sauce on pasta and added lobster. They had quite a few pieces of lobster which was nice. Everything tastes very fresh and delicious. We also tried the puttanesca pasta which was just as good. It is a little spicy but the sauce is amazing!!! Pastas come with a side salad and some bread. The bread tasted like it was baked the same day and was great to dip in the pasta sauce. It can be a bit on the pricey side. Pasta dishes are $18 and an extra $14 to add lobster but it's a nice treat. The location is really close to the fundy national park so it's really convenient when visiting the area. This is a definite must!!

Yelp
Delicious dinner in Alma! Highly recommended. Nice service, wonderfully cooked local, seasonal fare. The lamb shank, and smoked salmon Alfredo are highly recommended. We would definitely come back!!

Stuart M.

Yelp
We enjoyed dinner this evening on the patio serenaded by the adjacent babbling brook. The brook, staff and wine choices were all wonderful but paled in comparison to the meal. The pasta dishes were outstanding! Our choices included pairings with scallops and chicken and both choices left us with remarks like "best meal that I've ever had"! This restaurant is amazing, we had already planned to return to the area but our reason for doing so will be shared between the natural beauty and gastronomic delights that awaits. Go, enjoy, and be delighted!!!

Yelp
This Alma spot is a gem. The accent is on homemade food with locally produced, fresh ingredients. It's part cafe, part blown glass studio. We've tried a wide variety of offerings on their menu, which changes with the seasons, and have never had a bad experience. They have gluten-free selections too. We never feel rushed out the door, and the owners encourage patrons to stick around and relax. During warmer weather, you can dine in or on the back patio which overlooks a small brook. There is plenty of indoor seating too. The washrooms are always clean. Some evenings, they have live music. It can be very busy on those evenings. There is a viewing gallery upstairs of blown glass and other pieces. It's very kid friendly. They have a changing table in the women's room stocked with diapers and other essentials. This is one spot we hope is around for the long haul.

Yelp
This place was a great find! Even though the dishes are a little bit higher priced than expected, we enjoyed everything we had. Home made pasta was so good. Service was fantastic! We had 12 in our party. Here are a few takes on what we ordered. 1. Family Style portion of Carbonara (with the accompanying salad and bread): Says that it feeds 3, but we split it between 4 ladies with smaller appetites. We added the chicken and it was yummy. 2. Pesto dish: Everyone who tried this dish said it was the best combination of flavors at the table. Simple and light. Many want to go back and get their own dish next time. 3. Chicken Marsala: It should have been served on potatoes, but it came out on the home made pasta. Pasta was and perfect so that was fine with us. Chicken was cooked just right. Would have liked more Marsala sauce. 4. Pork Chop: Served with local fresh vegetables. The fiddle heads were a nice surprise although they are seasonal so you probably won't get them in August. 5. Sausage and Sweet Pepper: This dish had a kick that caught up with us half way through the dish. If you like a little bit of spice, this one is for you. 6. Lobster Alfredo: This dish has lots of lobster, flavor, and sauce. Excellent choice, but you may want to ask for a little less sauce.

Yelp

Yelp
Very poor service. Staff seemed overwhelmed and tables were not even full. We had an issue with our family meal and asked for an additional pasta dish for our young daughter. We waited 30 minutes and found out it would be an additional 20 minutes because the order had been queued behind everyone else who was seated after us. The overpriced menu is not worth it.

Yelp
Husband and I were driving along the coast, when we decided that we were hungry. So, we stopped at It was cold in there. The air had quite a chill. As did the server. She didn't look at us or acknowledge us in any way when we walked in. We waited for a minute for her to finish what she was doing. I looked at the baked goods and they looked great. But not all of them were covered or in cases. Flies. You really don't want to see that on your baked goods. When the server was ready, she showed us to a table. When she came back to take our orders, we were greeted with "First, let me tell you, we don't have lobster or scallops." I really wanted lobster. And why present it that way. I like homeyness as much as the next person. But that was just rude. "Sorry to tell you but we are out of the lobsters and scallops." Casual, informative, and polite. We ordered. I don't know what Husband ordered. I know he liked it, but I don't know what "it" was. I ordered a cheeseburger. The menu said it came with fresh greens. And it does. It also comes with a bunch of other stuff. When she put it in front of me, I must have gotten quite the look on my face. The server noticed and asked what was wrong. I said I thought it only came with the local greens and nothing else. She asked if I would like it remade. I said I would. She went over the order with me again. And she came out and went over it with me again. And one more time. Not nicely. And I was starting to feel like I was personally responsible for all the evil in the world. When in fact, I am only in charge of 36.2% of it. It's an anti-trust thing. My new burger was brought out and it was yummy. But the server came back and check on me twice. I felt awkward. I went out to smoke a cigarette in the rain and just didn't go back in.

Yelp
So my fiancé and I dropped by here for supper after checking out the Bay of Fundy at Enraged Cape. We read the reviews and decided that we would check this place out nearby in Alma right next to the entrance to the Bay of Fundy National Park. Our initial impressions were not entirely positive. The patio was quite small with cheap tables and chairs. Our waitress might have been new but when we asked her about the beer selection she said we would have to go look inside. I went inside and was able to report the 5 beers they had to my fiancé no problem, so they lose a star for that one! (On a side note, I did overhear one of the other waitresses explain the beers they had and make recommendations to another table) So why 4 stars, well we got the special of the day which was a scallop pasta, which came with some baguette and salad before and it was delicious! We barely spoke throughout the meal as we demolished the food before us! So if you are all about the food and want some good fresh seafood, check this place out!

Hyacinth W.

Yelp
Stopped here while visiting Fundy National Park. Food is delicious. We ordered classic pasta (tomato sauce), and the homemade pasta was to die for. Noodles had an amazing texture that is rarely found in casual spots. Ordered lamb, which was a little too salty. Ordered both house made lemonades (strawberry and mint). Both were delicious! Probably one of the few strawberry lemonades I've had that actually tasted like strawberry. Mint lemonade was more like mint tea, but still surprisingly pleasant. One down side was service speed. It seemed that there were only two servers, and I'm not sure if there are usually only two servers. However, it took about 30min for our food to come out.

Ron T.

Yelp
We went there and was seated then no one came by our table to get an order. Serving staff walked in and served other people. Decided to give up on food and just get a coffee. Stood at counter with no one acknowledging us and just left. They were busy but not so busy that they couldn't say just a minute and at least acknowledge us.

Yelp
What a nice find and break from fried seafood. Yes, I love fried seafood but after awhile you just need a break. This was a pleasant respite with a great vibe. It kinda reminds me of some of the cafes out west. We sat on the covered deck overlooking (we could hear the brook trickling) the brook. The air was cool and refreshing after Saint hot day at Hopewell Rocks. We chose from the dinner menu - as selection of a dozen pasta dishes. The hubby ate the tomato pasta and i the pasta with prosciutto, onion, garlic and fresh tomato added in. We started with salad and a piece of sliced ciabatta. Grab a dessert after dinner - one of the cakes made by a local bakery or their homemade bar cookies like the peanut chocolate bar or the Nanaimo bar (coconut, chocolate, nuts and more chocolate).

Yelp
On a trip to Fundy National Park, we consulted Yelp reviews for a restaurant for dinner. OGC had great reviews so we thought we'd give it a try. What I liked right away was that if you had a dog you could bring it onto the porch portion of the cafe. We both decided on the fresh pasta with a signature topping, Puttanesca and Carbonara. Of the two the Puttanesca was the best full of flavor and just the right amt. of spiciness. The Carbonara was very rich and creamy, I couldn't even finish my dish it was so filling! The OGC is also open for breakfast and lunch, and as a cafe with home baked goods. Definitely worth many more trips back!

Yelp
Enjoyable find. We found this slightly uptown when we saw the big line ups at the downtown places. The deck in the back has sunny places and shaded places. Ham and cheese was great with local brew pub beers.

Yelp
While visiting Fundy National Park my husband and I ate here 3 times - once for lunch and twice for dinner. The food was always good which kept us coming back. I had the lobster sandwich for lunch - baguette was very nice with big chunks of lobster. Pasta is homemade - "simply tomato" has big chunks of tomatoes with garlic and olive oil - as advertised and delicious! Also had the chicken Marsala over pasta - was a tad salty, but still very good. Totally recommend! Service is lovely too!
