A very nice upscale restaurant. Our party of six was served effectively and courteously. A good variety of dishes to choose from spicy chicken, poke bowls, flat beards and pizza, and steaks.

A great experience to receive a recommendation from the eatery across the street from The Office. Our visit in Irvington to spend time with a relative in a health care facility we were in search for special take out meals each day. The Office staff was so helpful in packing up our order with plenty of everything needed to make our dinner complete. We & our sister were "over the moon" with the triple-play ribs and two salad selections. Must try the Corn bread croutons: Whoa, so yummy! The ribs did fall off the bones. The hot food stayed hot in containers. The salads did not wilt. Lots of napkins, plates and more. Well done all. Thank you so very much everyone at The Office for making a lovely take-out dinner for us. It is nice that the owners kept some of the dental office decor. Check out the bathroom wallpaper. Unusual decor for a restaurant, you are greeted by two toothbrush columns as you enter. Apparently the Office was a dentist’s office prior to becoming a restaurant and the owner decided to keep some of the motif. Anyway, have visited several times and their food and service is consistently excellent. You can tell they take great pride and care in what they serve. It’s a very popular restaurant and reservations are required. I have had to book a few days out on occasion and Summers are particularly busy during tourist season. They offer a wide variety of options and when you are just getting sick of fresh seafood that the area frequently offers, they serve up terrific steaks. The bar is well stocked and they can make anything you can think up. While the menu has lots to offer, I almost always end up ordering one of their specials which adds to the variety. It’s a little pricy but worth saving up for to visit.

This place is precious. At one time it was a dentist office and they've kept little nuances of the old dentist office there. Food is amazing, service is great. I highly recommend the espresso martinis. Worth trying

This was an amazing experience. Everything we ordered was delicious. Highly recommend the crab dip! The server was very kind and helpful. The environment was very relaxed at lunch time on a Friday. We all really enjoyed our time and would certainly recommend and return.

It's above average but not exceptional. I think all the appetizers were better than the entrées so consider trying several of those. The 💥 shrimp and flatbreads were very good.

We’ve been visiting different VA towns during our Xmas vacation. This is one of those Gems that no matter where you live, you need to visit Kelmarnick and the Office Restaurant. Named from the dentist office that occupied this space before, it’s atmosphere is bright and the staff is as friendly as it gets. I love a small distinct menu that concentrates on making what they have great. A diverse wine menu, and beer list. Make sure you make a reservation, they are very busy, but not too busy to treat you like family. We will be back a lot, you’ll love the town as well.

Great place, good food! Had steak shish kabob, and Thai chicken salad! Both tasty! Cannolis we’re really good. Best part was Shy, our server! She was hustling and making sure we had a great evening. Evidence of short on help, but we really enjoyed our night!

Met friends for dinner. Salmon dinners were delicious. Enjoyed the modern decor. Service was upscale. We will be returning.

While staying at the Tides Inn, we decide to venture into the town of Irvington for dinner. With not many places to pick from, we settled on the Office due to reviews from shop owners in the area. The place is very, "artsy" and I wasn't too sure what to expect when it came time to eat due to the menu having a variety of different types of foods(everything from pizzas and sandwich to steak and lobster). We decided to order the powPow cauliflower for our appetizer and was very happy with the decision. I ordered the Salmon Sandwich and the sauce was excellent (be prepared to eat open-faced- with a fork and knife) and French fries and my husband ordered the Ny Strip with the lobster cream sauce, mashed potatoes and green beans.. The steak needed the sauce as it was not really seasoned and there seemed to be some inedible pieces but it was a large enough piece he was able to get enough. The service was great! Our waitress (whose name I did not get unfortunately) was attentive and super happy! The manager came by a few times as well and checked on us. In making small talk he uncovered we were celebrating a milestone anniversary and told the waitress to get us a dessert on the house. The bourbon selection was good and the prices were very fair. If you are passing through Irvington Va or staying for a little getaway, check out the Office Bistro for lunch or dinner.

The food we had was really good - Pow Pow Shrimp, Pecan Pear Gorgonzola Salad and Ahi Tuna. Got the Carrot Cake to go. Good service, cute place, clean and appeared to be well managed. I would recommend.

My party of 3 stopped in today and we shared a Meat'za pizza, pear Gorgonzola salad, cheesecake and Milky Way cake. The pizza was SO good!! The salad was nice and big and delicious. A great value at $15. The desserts were also both enjoyed. Our server (Nushy?) was friendly and attentive. An all around fabulous experience! **we all agreed that this meal/experience beat our $224 dinner at the Tides Inn the previous night**

We ordered takeout online, which was ready at our pickup time. Great service and delicious meals. We ordered the Fried Shrimp and Half Rack Ribs..so yum.

We came here after a friend highly recommend it to us. And boy, she was not wrong! I warn you know, I expect this place can get crowded. We came super early in a very sleepy off season. You may want to get reservations. The decor/interior was exceptionally upscale and modern. The waitresses & hostesses were top notch. And the bartender & cook's skills represented themselves. Started out with the Rocket Flatbread. The figs & cheese were a great mix. This was way too much of an app for two, though. You were warned! The bread that was served was actually enough and if there are only two of us, I would have skipped the flatbread and stuck with the freebie. I didn't know what to get so I went low brow and went with the fried shrimp platter. I was afraid it would be a fat fest, but it was actually lightly fried. I don't know the real term, but I always think of it as Callabash style. It was very well done, tasty and for fried food was pretty light. Definitely a place we are returning to when we come back to town.

After getting a recommendation from another local business we decided to give The Office a try. Best decision! It was a clean and quirky place with a fantastic outdoor eating space (too chilly to enjoy on the day we were there). Service was awesome and the manager chatted with us which I loved. Between the two of us we had the Pow Pow Shrimp as an appetizer. It was the perfect balance of crispy, juicy, salty, spicy and a hint of sweet. I will try the oysters next time. The pear salad was out of this world. I had grilled shrimp on too that were perfectly cooked. Again, the balance of flavors and textures was excellent. The best thing we ate (and honestly one of my top ten meals ever) was the smoked tea crusted tuna. Everything about that dish, from presentation to taste, was spot on. Know before you go: reservations are recommended during high visit times. It's pricey but you get what you pay for. Their cocktails and beer and white selection are *chefs kiss*. Plan to visit the Founders Oak while you are in town.

The crab dip was creamy and delicious, the goat cheese salad easily could have been a meal itself and had so many ingredients including a super yummy dressing. The shrimp and grits were cooked perfectly. The atmosphere is chill and I liked hearing from how the building was once a dentist office and seeing the nods to that still in the building. Our server was also, very attentive and friendly.

Used to be a dental office by the toothbrush columns outside, dental wallpaper in the bathroom, and cut outs in the dividers. Nice dog friendly porch with fans and umbrellas outside. Mock tails which were great to see, the kitchen staff was very helpful in making sure no allergen cross contamination occurred which is always much appreciated. The steak was DELICIOUS, very Tender, perfect seasoning. Mashed potatoes were flavorful and creamy. The chicken Sandwhich was very tasty- the grilled pineapple and mango salsa complemented eachother well, it was a tad dry so a sauce would have made it perfect. Very unique and modern flare. Cons- 1 single bathroom for the entire restaurant so try to freshen up prior to everyone else, we went as soon as they opened and my seat was dirty and the bathroom trash can was overflowing. There was a hair on my plate when served- I'm hoping it was from my napkin as I opened it but that also is unappetizing. A lot of flies inside despite eating inside instead of the patio- likely from being near the doors but they were relentless and unappetizing to deal with dining at a nicer establishment. Cute place, one of the only 2 places to eat in town on a Monday!

Great find while visiting family! I'm in the area a few times a year and there are only so many restaurants, especially on a Monday before summer. The Office was outstanding in all ways. Service by Tashima (sp?) was warm, thoughtful, and attentive. Food was great with a wide range of options, all delicious. Cocktails and beer/wine selection were much better than I expected. And it's upscale without being stuffy or making anyone feel out of place. We appreciated the extra attention to the birthday girl we celebrated. That was one of several small gestures that we wouldn't have thought to miss, but meant so much. We'll be back next time in town!

What an incredible find in tiny Irvington - we were staying nearby and walked over for a wonderful evening, service by Solita was just perfect, and owner Marc spent several minutes with us talking about things to do in the area. The nods to the prior history as a dental office were super cute - large toothbrushes outside the front porch and check out the restroom wallpaper! Onto the food - we had the special ahi bites appetizer, and the complimentary bread and olive oil was warm and flavorful. We had the special ribeye with mashed potatoes and the tarragon lime salmon. My salmon was melt in your mouth good and cooked perfectly medium rare. As we were celebrating a special occasion, happily received an unexpected complimentary dessert - selected the vanilla bean sundae with brownie bites and enjoyed that as well. Bottles of wine were half price that evening so we indulged in a great Napa red blend.

Sorry to say but this restaurant was not very hospitable to older folk. We had a 12:15 pm reservation and were shown to a very small table. My husband uses a cane and could not easily sit at the table we were shown. We asked for a larger table but were told there were reservations for all of the other tables? We looked around and every table was empty. We were very disappointed as we have dined here before and have not been treated this way before

Loved their lunch the other day, beet salad was great! Only issue was the flies coming in from the slide door. There should be a way to control that.....don't know...lol

Fabulous at EVERYTHING. Delicious pineapple martini, shrimp and pineapple flatbread was delicious. Bartender, wait staff friendly, cheerful, knowledgeable. Manager, Mark, came over to see how our experience was. He previously came from Ford Colony Club Williamsburg. A must eat dining experience in the Northern Neck.

It was a long day and I missed lunch....I needed a treat before the 75 mile trip home! Imagine my good fortune! Everything was great from the Old Fashion to the Key Lime Pie! My server...Shy...was also friendly and attentive.

First time here. Fabulous lunch - we had the salmon sandwich and my husband had the burger, both were outstanding. LOVE the fries. The vodka cocktail (can't remember the name) was very good. Service and ambiance were great too.

Great service by Tashima! Was able to help us by answering our many questions as this was our first visit. Was able to accommodate a change with the drink I ordered. Will return again just because of the great level of service and friendly staff. The best burger with solid taste to back it up ! French fries here I could have just ate a whole bucket. The salmon BLT was unique and delicious with the onion rings. Both dishes filling and worth the money. Blackberry hopper was refreshing surprise made perfectly. This was a lunch visit and the decor and patio has us soon coming for dinner.

This spot is great for lunch and dinner. I find the staff is always so pleasant. I have enjoyed many meals here and recommend it all. The salads are huge, the burgers are delicious and you can go wrong with the specials.

I got a salmon sandwich my first time here. The salmon is very nicely cooked but balsamic dressing made the bread very soggy so I didn't really love it. This time I got a Cobb Salad and I LOVED it! The tendies were so crispy and perfectly seasoned. Even though it was a salad, I felt very satisfied.

Good food, limited selection. Huge salad. Staff was prompt. Beautiful ambience. Nothing super fab.

We love The Office Bistro! From the tasty food to the delicious drinks we return often. The patio offers a lovely view of Main Street in Irvington and they have heaters in the winter to help with the chill. The inside still has some nods to the former dental office. Can't miss the toothbrush columns as you walk up. Service is consistent. They offer gluten free options.

Have had lunch there and they catered our Thanksgiving dinner and it was awesome. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a great meal and dining experience.

First visit. Was happy to see they use Resy which I used. We were warmly greeted and seated outside as requested. The wait staff definitely trying to give an upscale vibe and doing pretty well until they asked if I wanted another ice tea and then forgot to bring it. it was a Tuesday night and few diners. The bread and olive oil were a nice touch and unexpected. My partner ordered the grilled chicken and rice and I had the ribs after an enthusiastic endorsement by our waiter. Rib portions were huge and they were fall off the bone good. Sauce was a bit odd to me but not bad. The baked beans had a very strange spice to them. I've eaten a lot of ribs and beans but could not eat these beans. I don't eat coleslaw but tried it and it was okay. I had to leave room for all the ribs. I could have easily done with half the amount that was brought. You would think grilled chicken and rice would be pretty simple but alas, there was some different spices going on there that the more my partner had the spicier it got and she is not a fan of spicy. She ate less than half the chicken and asked the waiter to find out what the spices were. She came back and told us she could not reveal the spices but agreed that the dish was spicy. My partner said if she had known the dish was spicy she would not have ordered it and did not enjoy it. Waiter apologized and cleared the dishes and offered dessert. We went with the key lime pie. It tasted okay but it by far the smallest and most expensive piece of pie we have ever had at $9 for a pretty small slice. Was expecting some acknowledgment of the issue with the grilled chicken, maybe comp that entree or the dessert but no, just the check. Nice place and they are obviously going for a more upscale experience which I appreciate. Maybe the waiter did not rely our concerns to management but given how not busy they were management could have easily stopped by and checked in with everyone.

We've come in 2 or 3 times now. Food is always fantastic and the service is everything you could want. We usually sit at the bar and tonight was excellent as always. We just had appetizers and wine, but got treated like we were having a 7 course feast. The food was great (Flatbread and a spicy shrimp dish) and the bartender (who was also taking care of tables) was attentive and fun. We will be back!

Pretty place, nicely decorated. E were seated right away. No on e come to the table for about 10 minutes. Husband had Sailor sandwich, and said it was ok. I had pulled pork sandwich. Good quantity of meat, but not a lot of flavor. Bbq sauce on the side was nothing special. And you were served pickled veggies!.... It had two whole cloves of garlic, carrot slices, and cauliflower. Not standard fair. Oh, well.

Outstanding food. Staff incredible. Welcoming to non locals. Enjoyed my experience there and would recommend to visitors. If I were to return to The Tides I would dine there, if not once, but every night.

Ribs A+ They were so tender and moist! I liked that they weren't slathered in BBQ sauce, so you could actually taste the meat (so good) I would order these again. Baked Beans. Very attractive place, but food disappointments. At 7:30 pm, they were already out of the oyster appetizer and the one main course special. The zucchini appetizer was heavily fried. Best item was the spicy shrimp appetizer. With such a cute location and bounty of top local ingredients available, surprisingly average.

Great place for dinner and drinks. It's always Poppin, so make a Rezzy. The chicken strips and the ribs were beyond yummy. Staff is super sweet and accommodating.

Delicious fried shrimp and country Cobb salad. Nice addition to Irvington! Loved the key lime pie too.

Servers are extremely attentive and kind, the restaurant is clean and has a nice vibe. Food was good and it's really cool how they turned the old dentist office into a restaurant!

Great little restaurant with friendly service and great food! Even if you think the Farro salad doesn't sound great, ask for a sample. This is definitely one of my top two restaurant salads! A bit loud inside the restaurant, but they have a great little (heated) patio where you can dine all year!

Had a wonderful meal and experience at The Office this weekend. The service was excellent and extremely friendly but without being too much in our face. The menu has some great comfort foods that were delicious and, well, comforting! Absolute little gem in an area that doesn't have a lot of upscale options, very much looking forward to our next visit.

The Office Bistro is a nice place for date night in Irvington! The cobb salad, pow pow shrimp, and cilantro salmon were all solid dishes. My favorite was the cobb salad, which included their famous chicken tenders. It was very well-dressed and everything was chopped and mixed in. The pow pow shrimp had a kick to it, if you like spicy. The cilantro salmon was a healthy choice. It was good, but could have used a little more flavor or sauce, in my opinion. They also have a nice selection of wines!

We had an impeccable experience. The restaurant was more than accommodating, I called earlier in the week to secure a reservation for 8, on a weekend night and they were able to find a way to make it happen. 6 adults and 2 children were very satisfied. Our server was so personable and offered great suggestions. Our food was delicious, especially the ribs and tuna entree. The pow pow shrimp is definitely spicy!! But good. The wine was also spot on, a Pinot noir from Williamette valley was recommended and was delicious. I wish I had pictures but we were honestly too content enjoying our meal to get our phones out.

We had a terrific experience at The Office Bistro. The inside is adorable, but we eat outside when we can and their patio is spacious with plenty of umbrellas for shade. My husband had the miso-glazed salmon, which was very nicely done. I wasn't that hungry so I had an appetizer as my main - the rocket flatbread with shrimp on top. Generous dollops of goat cheese with a tasty balsamic vinegar and figs. My husband's old fashioned was very well made. Our server was friendly and enthusiastic. Enjoyable experience all around.

The Powpow chicken appetizer was delicious & the chicken sandwich was the best I've ever had! We go to Tides Inn every year & decided to try a new spot in Irvington! This spot was a great choice.

Don't be fooled by the giant toothbrushes, this restaurant is not to be missed. We didn't have reservations on a Saturday night so sat at the bar. Our busy server was friendly and attentive and made sure we had the best dining experience. The rocket flatbread was a great starter with cocktails. Our entrees of beef stroganoff were a delicious comfort food. We will definitely be back and highly recommend

I've been to The Office 2 Times and will go again. The Food is innovative and delicious. No other restaurant in the area has a menu like this one. The menu fills a spot that no other place in this Tri town area does. I'd call it Modern American. There is something amiss here, though. Trying to pinpoint what it is is tough. It is not fun! The really high greeting desk is off putting and usually has no greeter. The Food is delivered at that same vantage and staff and customers criss cross. The servers are nice enough but not happy. There is no atmosphere other than lunch time. Piano player? Table candles? Art work? Antique side board? Anything to help make an impression to honor the food and to entice evening attendance.

Great food and large portions. Pricey but you get a lot of good food. Had the cob salad and split it with my wife. It was enough for us both. My son had the burger and he really enjoyed it except they didn't put the correct toppings on it. Would eat here again.

The Office is a must visit if you're visiting Irvington! It is a former dentist office, which was super fun for my dentist husband. We prefer to dine outside due to Covid and they made it easy with their spacious patio with plenty of heaters. The food was delicious. I really enjoyed the Mahi special and my husband loved their famous chicken tenders. Cocktails and Pow Pow Shrimp were awesome as well. Our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive, despite the fact that she was also taking care of a very large party. Best of all -- I left my beloved Barbour jacket there. They kept it safe until I called on Monday morning and mailed it back to me the same day. I can't say enough good things about the experience and wonderful people who work here.

Went in for pizza night on a Thursday (plus half off bottles of wine) for the first time. We had a great time and the pizza was good. The pizza was a little pricey for $18 but I'll be back to try more of their dishes. The sandwiches I saw go by looks really tasty! The inside and patio has been remodeled and looks really nice!

Cute place, nice atmosphere and good food. Kids had pizza and we had baby back ribs, rockfish special and Greek salad. We will definitely come back next time we're in Irvington.

My wife and I had a very nice lunch here. She had the antipasto salad and I had the Beast burger. My burger was nice and 'wet' (juicy burger) and my wife enjoyed her salad. A couple of beers to accompany the food hit the spot, and a shout out to Carolyn, who was very nice. Good experience overall.

This is a great restaurant! Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was great. Prices are reasonable and we loved the screened in porch. Highly recommend and will definitely come back ourselves!!

Stopped by The Office Cafe for a late lunch- it was their first week open, so we just wandered in with no real expectations. Serviced and wait staff were terrific. Very friendly, helpful, and so quick! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. We tried the artichoke flatbread to start, and it was fantastic. Delicious, paper thin crust, lightly topped with cheese, artichoke, and a delicious garlic aioli. Three of the four of us got the Country Cobb, topped with crisp fried chicken tenders, corn bread croutons and a really fantastic honey Dijon vinaigrette. Everything was so good, that we decided to take the server's advice and go for the Pow Pow shrimp. Yum. Luckily we all had our entrees, or we might've had to fight over those. So yum, with a touch of creamy heat. Served over a bed of crisp cabbage For a little light crunch. Overall, can't say enough about the food and service. We did find the dedication to the dental office theme a little heavy-handed, and the decor is a little cold/sterile as a result. Not sure how that plays at dinner time. We will definitely be back when we are in the area, though. It is a much needed and delicious stop if you find yourself at "The Rivah."

They made damned sure I won't be eating there again. That angers me because I not only wanted a decent meal, but enjoy giving positive reviews and will sometimes pump a local place a bit extra because I am big on supporting local business and know it's been tough the last year and a half. I arrived about 2:30 pm for lunch and, once one of the frowning waitresses decided to take a break from the coffee klatch at the bar, was seated on the nice, clean deck. It was a pretty, warm day and I was in a jolly mood, though quite hungry. My request for a glass of water was forgotten until, after 10 minutes of waiting, I went back inside to get it from my frowning waitress who had returned to the group of 3 other waitresses shooting the breeze at the bar. I decided to order the half pound angus beef cheeseburger ($15), and then waited, and waited, and waited some more. After a half hour I went back in to disturb the gossiping at the bar to enquire about my sandwich and was told the delay was caused by them being so busy. The place was maybe a third full and most of the people there had been served. I was starving 5 - 10 minutes later when my burger finally arrived. I said, "Oh no" to myself when it was served, top off, to reveal a burger that had been mashed into a mold to squeeze as much flavor out of the meat as possible. So I tried a small bite of just the burger and was it medium rare like I ordered? No. it was well done. How about the flavor? There was none. Also, I've been eating angus beef for 60 years and this was not angus beef. On top of that it was just a few degrees above room temperature. They're charging gourmet burger prices but are serving double quarter pounders. I tried a few of the fries and they were delicious. Sitting there hungry as could be, I thought of just eating the damned thing and being done with it, but couldn't. So I took the plate back inside where the avoid-serving-the-customers social gathering at the bar was and asked to see a manager. They told me there was none - nobody was in charge. One glum waitress asked me what the problem was and walked off about 5 seconds later before I could tell her. Then a different glum waitress stepped up. She offered to redo the sandwich, but really, what's the point? They don't know how to cook a hamburger, they're not serving angus beef they claim to be and I'm well aware of the penchant cooks have for spitting on food that is returned. If I wanted a double quarter pounder, I could get one for half the price in a tenth of the time at the McDonald's in Kilmarnock (ugh!). So for the first time in my life, I told them this was not what I ordered and I was not going to pay for it and then walked out, still starving. My cheerful mood was gone and instead of finding another nice place to eat, I found a restaurant that will get none of my business in the future. And I was still hungry.
