This place is cool old West! Great food and service all the time! Have ridden here twice, food is excellent. Old farm tools on the walls and live music also. Well worth it!

The Old Edison is a beautiful bar and restaurant. The staff was great and the service speedy. It is a bit pricey.

Super fun place! I came to watch Wheelie Fargo play and it was a lot of fun! I had the steak salad and ribs, pleasantly surprised with both. It’s got the old town charm of cheers or a saloon. Loved the atmosphere. Will definitely be back! If you’re in the mount Vernon / Skagit valley area , it’s worth a stop !

This little bar shouldn’t be overlooked. It’s small but down-to-earth, attracting primarily patrons in their late 40s to late 60s, though there are a few younger people that balance out the atmosphere. Overall, it provided a great experience. The waitresses were sweet, attentive, and offered fast, courteous service. The food was generally good; the fish was fresh, and the fries were also fresh, although the potato fries were a little cold. I'm not sure what happened there, but they were still okay. The Mac and Jack I had was delicious, and my fiancé ordered the Kona Longboard. Two Macs cost $14, and a Kona Longboard $7 not too bad considering it's one of Bow’s local bars. As for the atmosphere, I would rate it a five out of five. The food I’d give a four out of five, but I haven’t tried everything on their menu yet. The prices are fair considering the location. I loved the interior with its dark decor and walls adorned with interesting pictures and reading material. One suggestion I'd offer is to add a pool table somewhere, perhaps in the corner by the back door, which would be fun for the younger crowd. Overall, I would visit again. I love the quaint saloon look, and feel was a vibe for me.

And old standby for when coming home to the PNW. Service was excellent, food was quick getting out of the kitchen. Can't beat the laid back atmosphere.

My husband and I went to the speak easy there. Great service, great food and great atmosphere. They make their own beer and root beer which was so good I ordered it to go and they sealed it in a can. They also had someone playing the piano which made it perfect. I will definitely go back.

Stopped in on our way through town. Quick service. Small selection of beers on tap. Decent size dining room and bar seating. Fish tacos were very filling and were super delicious; loved that you got fries and coleslaw with it. Big fan of creamy coleslaw!! The fried clams are also tasty - cocktail sauce has the perfect amount of horseradish. Would stop in again.

The place looks like a lot of fun. I would go back and have beers there for sure. But the food is awful. The Reuben was dripping with grease and was not even edible. We asked for that to be taken off, but they only gave us a $4 discount. That's not right. But one has to give credit where it's due. It's a great place for a few beers.

Very pleased today with my hot cocktail. Husband had a beer. Amber and Liam are keepers. Made us feel welcomed and both were working so hard! Noticed how attentive they were to all customers. It was our first time at this bar, too. The food is delicious. We had ribs and clam strips. See you soon!

Dive Bar? Check. Locals? Check. Good food and drink? Check. I love this place - it's exactly what you want in a place like that. I will also die on this hill - they make THE BEST pickle fries of anywhere. Go ahead, try them. We got the Bow burger and the Captain's plate. While it seems a little spendy (doesn't everything these days?), I think you get what you pay for. The burger is stellar and local, and you can't go wrong with fried seafood. When I go back I probably won't double up on the fried (app + entree) again, but I'm glad I did. I'm definitely getting pickle fries though.

It's hard to go wrong with the Old Edison. Part pub, part dive bar, part local biker legend, this place has it all as long as you're not looking for anything fancy. I've been several times over the years, with my most recent visit being a few days ago for some beers, lunch, and a few fun games of shuffleboard with my man. (Spoiler alert: he won all three games!) I was happy to find one of my faves, Moose Drool (a brown ale from Montana) on tap - which is RARE around these parts. The dude ordered a Reuben's IPA, and we shared their turkey pesto sandwich with a side of onion rings. The onion rings were amazing but we weren't blown away by the sandwich (coulda used more pesto and the turkey had that over-processed taste). It wasn't bad, but I think next time I'd just get a burger again like we've done on previous visits. The service here is rocking. There were two bartenders/waitresses managing the whole place on a fairly busy Saturday afternoon. The crowd here is older and pretty tame, which I'm guessing is fairly standard as Edison is a tiny town that doesn't exactly attract a lot of trouble. Oh and the music they were playing was EXCELLENT! The bartender said it was called "Songs to sing in the shower" from Spotify. I will definitely be following that playlist.

We arrived in Edison after a ride down Chuckanut Rd. Edison is a tiny town founded in 1897 as a utopian socialist colony. The utopians are long gone, but today the area hosts a refreshing collection of artists, artisans, potters, bakers, and craftspeople. Honestly, the Old Edison wasn't our first pick-- everything else seemed to be closed. Then again, our server - Brittany - was top notch.

Coming back from oyster dome hike - we were ravished and searching for a Dinner place with reasonable price! This is a gem of a pub, plus on top of that food is amazing. We ordered oyster shooters which we will skip next time. The Captain's plate was amazing, it has everything and perfect for 2 sharing folks. Service is very good. The Pub has a small town dive bar charm, perfect ambience for groups and couples.

We ordered 4 oyster shooters, a cup of clam chowder, and 1 Big E Cheeseburger with an extra patty cut in half for two. The burger came with fries. However, we were never brought the clam chowder and thus didn't pay for it. Therefore, our total was $27. The oysters were not as good or as big as the ones we got at Gentlemen Gene's Pub but we're still pretty good. The burger was very juicy and flavorful. The beef and cheese were local. Edison is a farming community with plenty of cows and a butcher shop is near the restaurant. So, this is probably some of the freshest meat you can get. The ambience was great and they even had 2 shuffleboards to play! This place would have been 5 stars but how can you give a perfect review when the host didn't bring all of the things that were ordered yet brought the bill for the missing item at the end of the meal. And, they weren't even busy as we were the last people in the restaurant when we left. We would have loved to have tried the chowder. But, we left it up to fate as to whether we would get to try it or not. As fate would have it our hostess didn't remember. Maybe your experience will be better.

Take out here. I had the fried oyster dinner with onion rings. It was barely edible - the oil needs to be changed. I threw more than half the meal away.

Food is amazing! My second time visiting and it is absolutely the best food around. I wish I would have ran across this hidden gem years ago. I'm getting ready to relocate from WA State however, when I'm in the area again, The Old Edison will definitely be included on the itinerary! The atmosphere is older and it seems as though only locals attend. I'm never intimidated by the atmosphere of a place so I was unbothered (no one gave me a reason to be bothered either) The staff was friendly and welcoming and service was fast. The food is undoubtedly fresh! Best sweet potato fries I've ever eaten...I'm from the south and I'm a food junkie, so that statement is huge coming from me! I encourage you to go visit! You will not be disappointed...! Oh, the prices are great too!!! Bonus...amongst all the locals (assuming) a gentleman had on a Black Lives Matter Shirt!

Love this place! They have 2 shuffleboards and the staff are all super nice. They make you feel like they have known you forever. The drinks are great and the food is too. Live their cooks. They work non-stop and out our amazing food. Love coming here and highly recommend. They also have an outdoor patio but haven't been out there.

I was just there with my bro and had a dynamite meal. My burger was perfectly cooked, toasted bun, and fresh veggies in top. The O rings were perfect, and his clam strips took me way back to memories of HoJos as a kid. Great atmosphere. Not a lot of Seattle-ites. Just wonderful.

Was in Edison and decided to go to the Mariposa for lunch. Closed. By accident we fell into the "Old Edison" bar. A real CLASSIC old bar in downtown Edison. We were in there early but felt more than welcome to find a place to sit. Our server was friendly and very attentive. Brought us water without asking. We sat outside in their "courtyard". We both love oysters and went with the Oyster Burger. OMG. Perfectly cooked. Stout and juicy oysters. Lightly breaded. Served ala' plenty on a freshly warmed bun. Accompanied by homemade tartar sauce, fresh lettuce, a tomato and a slice of lemon. More oysters than you could shake a stick at. Pure heaven. Plenty of local beers on tap to choose from as well. I imagine this place gets quite "rollicking" on a Friday and Saturday night. Cheers!

Old style dive bar with great food and service. We had the Bow burger with onion rings and it was delicious.

The food was good, I had chicken Swiss burger with a side salad. The service was verrrry slow and poor. We waited approximately 10 minutes for the waitress to take our drink orders. We had to get up and get our own menu. The waitress was friendly, but took forever to wait on us, didn't check on us after bringing our food, didn't offer to get us another beverage, and forgot to split our bill as she offered. So if you come be prepared to wait and get your own menu, and to assert yourself for service! If the place were busy, I'd feel differently. There was ONE other table sitting inside when we arrived, two people at the bar, and one group outside. So not super busy.

I had been meaning to try this place for a while and I am so glad I finally did. Started off with a cup of Clam Chowder...Good Chowder, not the best I have ever had but a solid cup of Chowder nonetheless...Then I had the Oyster Dinner...sadly they don't do Fresh Cut Fries and I almost took a star away because of this but I subbed a Salad and not only were the Greens super fresh but the Ranch Dressing was Home-made and fantastic...The Cole Slaw was also Home-made super fresh and like seriously delicious...The Oysters were fried to absolute perfection...superb...sublime...on the side was an excellent Home-made Cocktail Sauce...I'm not a Tartar Sauce fan but judging from everything else I'd wager it was great! Had a Pint of Guinness with the meal which I feel for some reason pairs wonderfully with Oysters...It was a professionally poured Pint with just a fingers thickness of foam on top... In this life it is rare to be served a Perfect Meal...but this in all honesty was a 100% Perfect Meal...Hats off to them... Highly, highly, highly Recommended

Great old hole in the wall with good food. I had oysters and they were terrific : well seasoned and pan fried perfectly. My friend had a great sandwich and the onion rings were a solid option. Shuffleboard and a full bar. Stop there on your way through!

Despite the fact that they were 5 minutes away from closing, they STILL sat us down (we were VERY hungry) and fed us with love and care and for that we are SO GRATEFUL !!

Excellent dive bar. Clientele ranges from bikers to senior citizens and all between. Edison is a very small town. Very small. With that in mind, free parking can be found in the limited parking lot or on the sides of the narrow streets. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Indoors, one will find a full bar, mismatched tables and chairs, unique wall-hangings, a stage area for live music, a well-maintained shuffleboard and mounted TV's. Free Wi-Wi is available. A large outdoor seating area is located in the back. Edison offers a nice selection of local craft beer as well as the standard domestic beer. If you like spirits, Edison has a nice variety of infused vodka and tequilas. Food items are a more upscale than the standard dive bar offerings. My wife and I each slurped on a Manny's for $4.75 each. We shared a cup of Clam Chowder (Friday's only) for $4.50. I enjoyed the chowder, my wife didn't care for it. We also shared the Big E Cheeseburger for $11:50: cheese, tomato, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles. We chose the wedge cut fries (Jo Jo's) for $1 up-charge. We both devoured this tasty burger and every last fry. Delicious. Our server was friendly, welcoming and efficient. My wife and I enjoyed playing on the shuffleboard on our way out. Overall, Edison in laid-back, unpretentious and down right chill.

Good food and vibe in this old dive bar. Great live music and hoppin' dance floor on weekend nights. Excellent local Blau oysters for an appetizer or as an addition to your main.

We have been to the Edison many times and usually have had the bow burger. The food and beer selection have always been outstanding. Last visit we had the lamb wrap and it was exceptional. Today the bow burger was definitely not the same. The beef was of poor quality and not cooked well at all. I'm disappointed. Not sure I'll order the bow burger again, which is supposed to be their premier burger.

It has been a long time since I've been here, but memory served me right and this was a nice place for dinner. Our waitress was super energetic and friendly. We had drinks to start with an app of onion rings- the portion was huge and they were really tasty!! I was also appreciative of how quickly the order came out. They have quite a list of local beers and cider on tap. I had the passion fruit cider- balanced, fruity, tart and a hint of sweetness. For me, dinner was the "Big E" salad with chicken and house balsamic dressing. It came with Breadfarm garlic bread. It is always a bonus when a local business supports another local business! My family all had seafood dishes and loved them. I did sample a fry and wished I had some, too... I'll have to get something with their French fries next time!

Dive bar with delicious foods. The lamb served here is reputed to be wonderful but my friend and I chose the pulled pork. This sandwich did not disappoint. This local meat is slow roasted with a smoke flavor aimed to please. The homemade coleslaw is tasty and fresh. We each paid extra to have our pulled pork served on a BreadFarm roll ($2.00). I ordered a fresh homemade creamy artichoke soup. It was incredible. I am dreaming of it and may make the trek back Thursday to get more! My friend got a side of slaw (slaw comes on the sandwich too. She received over 2 cups worth of creamy, flavorful slaw. We went up on a Tuesday. The restaurant was packed! This place is located in the cute little sleeper town of Bow. Make sure you walk down the street to the BreadFarm and ask for a punch card. Beers and alcohol served at this tavern! After lunch head over to the Padilla Bay estuary!

I went in on the Sunday before Memorial Day after spending time walking the beach at Bay View State Park. The town of Edison was fairly busy but I easily found parking directly in front of The Old Edison. They were busy, but still friendly staff that stay on top of serving customers. Wonderful selection of infused vodka, tequila and rum. I chose a orange infused vodka for my Lemon Drop. So good, so very good. For my meal the oyster dinner. OMG, the oysters are to die for. So very fresh, so well prepared, so damn good. Quite possibly my favorite restaurant in Skagit county. The offer an extensive menu so if oysters aren't your thing, there are plenty of other options. Staff cleaned every table after customer left. Bathroom was clean, albeit small. There's a large area outside at the back of The Old Edison if you want to eat outside.

Excellent food! We got ours to go because we're not comfortable eating inside much yet. One Big E burger cooked perfectly, and one delicious pulled pork sandwich. If I lived around here I would eat here often.

Wow! I love this little old saloon in "downtown" Edison. I went with four people and we each had something different. I had the beef stew and a cheeseburger. The stew was completely out-of-this-world-delicious and the cheeseburger was great, too. The Old Edison has a large selection of beers - any local, and fresh home-made food. If you're in the area, definitely stop in for a drink and some grub. Large outdoor patio, live music, large bar, large dining room, shuffle board tables, great decor.

No minors allowed here. All of their signage and Yelp would lead you to believe that this is a restaurant but they say that they are not and would not allow us in the door. Some signage would be nice so that you don't have to unload your family just to have to load them back up and be directed out of town.

Good food in a pleasant welcoming environment. Must say the deep fried dill pickles & the curry ginger chile sauce served with the ale fried shrimp was super but the other items were average! The service we received was very good. They had an excellent band, the Replayzmentz, playing so we stayed late & the drinks were well prepared & served.

Captains plate*** Captains Plate**** Big E Cheeseburger***** Pepper x 2 Soup **** Hot Chips: ***** The main issue with one of the captains plate was the oyster cakes were "weird" and fries came out on the cold side. So 1/2 the blame goes to the receiver for not speaking up and getting them redone. Cod was spot on delicious. Hot chips are beyond delicious! I had messed up the roof of my mouth earlier this week and a raw roof did not stop me! It was goood! Soup was good. Too full to finish it! Burger was cooked right-Yay! Bun lasted to the last bite then the leftover fell apart! Good job! Yes we would come back-but we live too far away! Day 2 correction: Nope not after diarrhea x 2. The day after: Sorry to have to add this but my Mom and husband both ate the Captain's plate last night and have had diarrhea all night. It hasn't stopped yet. Had to change the rating from 4 stars to 2: One star for Liz who should still get 5 stars. And 1 star for my 4 star burger. I am not sick. I ate the burger, soup and hot chips with ketchup. Joined my dad for Father's Day lunch at the Edison. I had the pan fried breaded oyster dinner (approx. 8 small oysters) with fries, and Caesar salad and my dad had the gigantic cheese burger and fries. The quality and service was superb. Thank you to the Edison! Amazes me the food that comes out of their little tiny kitchen

Great atmosphere and friendly service but the food could be better. I had the oyster dinner and husband had the steak salad. Oyster dinner included 7 pan fried oysters (fresh from Blau Oyster down the road), fries and a side salad for $~15. Oysters are extra small, a little bigger than a quarter and wasn't all that impressive. However, their house-infused spirits are pretty darn tasty!! Next time, I would definitely stop by for a drink again but I'll definitely walk on over to Longhorn and grab some food there instead.

Went up to Edison to get a short road trip before the holiday madness hits. Lots of very food forward places in this town but honestly the old Edison is pretty perfect- you know much less quaint hipness and much more straightforward straight up food. If beer is what you want they have lots of great choices, i way over indulged last night so I highly recommend a glass of their tap water with ice- comes with a straw. I had the oyster burger with amazing coleslaw, mayo version but lightly hit/ both delicious, partner had the beef burger and he loved it. Service was great, prices were right, menu was large. So, why not, better service, fine food, much less pretentious.

We love this place! It's kind of a secret for good food. Usually not very crowded at lunch time. The oysters are to die for.

This is a must stop if you are anywhere near! Lovely picnic tables outside, very sweet waiter who knew entire menu and gave us great advice. My husband had the flatiron steak which was BBQ'd on the outside grill. I had the best crab cakes I've ever had! We will be back!

This place is fantastic. Great team, great food, and a comfortable small-town atmosphere. I make it a regular stop on Fridays for their Chowder.

Sometimes you walk into a local spot and the whole bar turns and looks at you and your first thought is to head back out but sometimes you have to go with the flow. This is a very small town and this place is definitely a dive bar but with surprising very good food and drinks. They distill their own vodka and had a variety of flavors to choose from. I chose the coconut one and it was soooo good. Next I ordered the oysters and they were perfect. Sweet and plump and oh so tasty. If you ever get to this part of WA do yourself a favor and stop in.

Stopped by The Old Edison after a hike. We weren't expecting much, just a quick bite to eat, but BOY did they deliver! My fish and chips was awesome, and my boyfriend's fried oysters were fantastic. This place has plenty of dive-y character; you can tell it's loved by locals and those passing through alike. Next time I'm up in the area, I'm absolutely stopping by for a bite!

I will start off by saying that the food is usually 3 stars or better at The Old Edison, my problem with this bar is that we are never clear on when the kitchen closes. We stopped in a couple weeks back just after 9:30pm and the bartender told us (after checking with the cook) that the kitchen was closed. Another table came in and they too were turned away, but the kitchen is supposed to stay open until 10pm, or that is what they told me on the phone before we came out to eat. if the kitchen closes at 9:30pm then they should change the advertised time. I have spoke with other people who have had this same problem. Food is always good though, I guess I will just have to come out earlier if I am going to eat.

The Old Edison has it all.:Decent food, solid service, music and dancing on weekends, shuffleboard. On one memorable rainy weekend, we stopped by while touring Canadian friends around the area. The Old Edison was an international hit.

Friday night is steak night at the old Edison. We had the ribs and the meat fell off the bone. Clam chowder was the best in a long time. Service was erratic despite being uncrowned. Bread had to be asked for twice and only garlic bread was available. The ribs were spicy but not overly so. Nonetheless the sensitive eater in our group asked for a glass of milk and was told there was none.."but we do have half and half". Ultimately a scoop of ice cream was provided.

We stopped here for a late lunch or technically late breakfast, after we hiked up Oyster for my birthday. We both got burgers (very good) with sweet potato fries. Food was delicious, and it was our first meal of the day so we were starving. They were able to make my lamb burger gluten-free without using the bun. We had fun playing shuffle board until our food came, and I won 10 to 6 and he was a seasoned shuffler, #beginnersluck. I'd definitely stop by again for a burger. We can't vouch for the drinks, but seems to me they have a good selection to chose from!
